The home boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and an open concept kitchen flowing into the living room and dining area. A power room and laundry room are also located on the first floor.
The main bedroom has a king size bed, 65" 4k TV, 4 piece ensuite bath and 2 closets. The other 2 bedrooms have a queen size bed, closet and 55" 4k TV.
Conveniently located in charming New Castle, this spot is perfect for both work trips and leisure stays. You'll have easy access to major employment hubs: the Port of Wilmington is less than 2 miles away (a quick 5-minute drive), the Delaware City Refinery is about 11 miles (~20 minutes), and the Marcus Hook Industrial Complex is roughly 12 miles (~20 minutes). When you're ready to explore, you're very close to the historic streets, museums, shops, and riverfront Battery Park of Old New Castle. Plus, the popular Wilmington Riverfront attractions and the Chase Fieldhouse sports complex are just a short 10-12 minute drive away (approx. 4 miles and 2.5 miles respectively).

The Neighborhood:
The Holloway Terrace is a solid blue collar neighborhood first established in 1916 and is in the middle of a re-development boom. Mixed in with the original houses are a bunch of new construction homes, re-development started in the early 2000's and has steadily continued. Depending on which way you are traveling the exit from I-295 is the first once crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge or the last exit before crossing the bridge. Unfortunately due to the close proximity of I-295 you will drive past several low budget motels when entering the neighborhood (if following GPS). I always recommend that guests use the Route 9 Library & Innovation Center as the GPS address, then use the house address (it is .5 miles away from the Library). The people staying at the low budget hotels never seem to come into the neighborhood, it's just not pleasant driving past them and can be alarming if you are not expecting it.

Getting Around:
The house has parking, Uber and Lyft are readily available and it is a .5 mile walk to the closest bus station (New Castle Ave @ Hillview Ave Stop ID: 1776)

- "This place was great. Very clean and comfortable. The area was quiet and we did not have any issues. Definitely recommend." - "Convenient location for our areas of interest. Property was easy to find and access. Dedicated parking was convenient. Rooms were clean. Owner provided pack-and-play for our toddler, which was very convenient. The relatively sparse decor was also ideal for our toddler. WiFi QR code was a nice touch, but did not work. I didn't get to message the owner about it until late, but got a response early the next day. Some nit-picks for those who like to pick nits... The stairs have some sort of sharp nail-like feelings under the carpet. This can hurt when walking without shoes. The blankets were rather thin and warn; we had to double-up from the unused beds. The heat/AC worked well on the lower level, but not as well on the upper level where the bedrooms are. Every door creaked loudly; I managed to oil them to reduce the noise. The kitchen table top was not fully attached to the base, making it extremely wobbly; I was able to screw the bolts on fully to keep it from wobbling. While our toddler did not have an issue, the railings are not toddler safe. The upstairs bathroom vent is extremely loud. Despite these issues, we had a pleasant stay and would stay here again."

This cute 1 bedroom apartment is located at the HEART of our lovely town. Steps away from some of the most historic places in the entire United States. Come near the weekend and you can tour our informative museums and wayside exhibits while taking in the local culture. We are a close-knit town and are happy to show out-of-towners "the way". Please enjoy your stay!
The space
You'll enjoy a quiet living room, kitchen and a nice bedroom with a bank patio for some outdoor time.

Have coffee/wine on your outside private back deck (our togo coffee window is open Fri - sat: 9am - 11:45am) and/or lunch at our cafe next door. Hours available on The Mercury's website.

You will be given the equivalent of$15/person per day to spend how you'd like at the cafe in the form of a gift card. Whether it be daily coffee and baked goods or a big night out on the town, your choice on how to spend it.

If your stay overlaps a Monday or Tuesday we will supply you with a $15 gift card per person, per day to our friends at Jessop's Tavern, a block away.

This unit is located within a larger building. The laundry room is next to your bedroom. There may be (probably not but just letting you know) people doing laundry closer to the evening hours since they have access 24 hours a day. This is just an FYI for you before you book.
