Not anymore. Rooms were huge, beds are super comfortable, great shower pressure, etc. All the things that you would expect from a high end hotel. Lyle and Tammy were great hosts and the breakfast was fantastic! (Baked french toast with apples, eggs with cheese, fresh fruit, and OJ). We will definitely be back again. :)"

- "We picked this hotel for the price as somewhere to stay in the middle of our 14 hour drive. It was a great value for the price. As other reviews say, it is still under renovation. The room was fine, clean and up to date enough. Toilet didn't flush very well but it was fine for a one night stay. The lady at the front desk was very polite. We had a small open trailer with our dirt bikes on it, they were locked with a chain to the trailer, but we didn't have any issue with the trailer there - lots of room in the parking lot for it. Overall a good stay and great value for the low price. "

The Goddard Place is located 5 miles East of Anna off of Route 146. We only have one cabin. It is close to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the Southern Illinois Wine Trail and the Shawnee National Forest. Your cabin features a living area with a sleeper sofa (for the young ones in the family), a recliner, a 32' flat screen television with DirecTV and a DVD player. The kitchenette includes a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, glassware and silverware. The queen sleigh bed, jacuzzi tub and lavatory complete the room. There is a shower and plenty of towels are provided. All you need to bring is your provisions!!

GPS took us right to it; easy parking. It was such a delight to sip coffee each morning while sitting on the porch overlooking the water. No other cabins are near by to distract the view. The kitchenette had necessary items for quick snack/meals with refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and toaster. There was also a grill outside. I loved the binder with local information in it which made it easy to make plans for the day. Local attractions were close enough to enjoy during the day but far enough for a short drive to take in the colors of rural Illinois. Loved it. The owners were open to conversation. I highly recommend this cabin for a couples get away."
