- "It's right next to a beautiful rushing creek, with a lovely field across it. There is a view of the local ruins. The garden and common/dining area are beautiful as well. The hosts are friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were delicious and fresh. If you don't like white noise, the sound of the creek may not be for you, I enjoyed it. The description advertises down comforters and pillow selections, but that's not the case. We were cold, so we asked, and they provided a space heater, which worked very well. The floors and bathroom were very clean. The shower tiles were slippery for my elderly father, and he wished there were grab bars, but few hotels in the area offer them, it's not a common feature. He walks very slowly, and it wasn't easy to catch a tuktuk from the location, or to get one at night on the way back, but for those who aren't mobility-challanged, it's an easy walk to and from town center. Older adults may wish to be closer to the plaza. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and I would stay again!"

It was close to the Plaza de Armas, only a few minutes walk. Safe area. Very small sidewalks and no parking, plus steps inside, so not good for wheelchairs. But the service was excellent! The room was cleaned daily and food was replenished each evening--eggs, cheese, butter, jelly, fruit, coffee, tea, yogurt, and fresh bread (delicious!). The kitchen had an electric kettle for tea and instant coffee (provided). Bottled water was brought to us when requested (very affordable at 2 soles/bottle). Pretty gardens on site. Reception arranged taxis for us to and from the airport and train station as needed at no extra cost (in fact, they negotiated a better price than we could). The neighborhood was quiet and easy to sleep in. We had hot water when we showered, so that was good. CON: one negative was that the bathrooms were a little smelly if we didn't open the bathroom windows, so definitely leave them open as much as possible. But with the windows open/the door closed, it was fine. My kids loved this hotel! We would definitely recommend it."

- "Very comfortable in the unique setting." - "Amazing stay! The views from our dome were amazing! You are literally on the top of a mountain with views down to the Urabamba river and a glacier on a distant peak. There are only a few staff that work here, and they do everything! From picking you up at the train station and from town when needed (extra fee, contact them through WhatsApp), to cooking a delicious dinner in their small restaurant. This hotel involves switchbacks on a dirt road. The last short stretch is too narrow for a car, so they take you up on a 4-wheeler/quad bike. Don't bring a giant suitcase. There are also stairs involved to get to the domes, so not an option for people with mobility issues. You will get a little winded in the thin air. We were here at the end of March. The domes can get really warm in the daytime sun, there are windows to open to cool it down. It can also get really cool at night. There were extra blankets and a space heater to warm it up. Turn on the space heater before dinner to get the heat started. Beds were comfy, The amount of stars visible at night is amazing!! We would definitely stay here again. The pictures that we posted from Vertical Sky got the most responses from friends out of anything we posted in Peru!"

There was also a great convenience store and cafe downstairs. I didn't make use of the pool. I would happily recommend this accommodation. During our stay, Kuychi Rumi earned this highest rated due to the fantastic rooms, room service, and their prompt manager Johan. After all, how often do you get your refrigerator stocked the previous night just because you have to leave at 5 am the next morning? Most hotel staff wouldn't care. But Johan does :-) On our first morning, Johan took us on a 30-minute walk around the town and telling us so many things about the Peruvian rural life. In a country where finding English speaking people in rural areas is difficult, this proved to be a great introduction to the culture. As for the room itself, it is fabulous. Lovely gardens, butterflies, flowers blooming, a nice patio, and a fireplace in the room that Johan helps to start. Location is convenient, with a dollar and 10 minutes away from the main market. - "The boat journey is exciting and comfortable despite being 8 hrs up river and 5 back. If lucky u meet the researchers and hear about their ingenious projects focused on the flora and fauna and the staff are attentive and wonderful as is the food. We were up at 4.30 most mornings which is no sweat as u go to bed about 9 pm. The clay licks are disappointing this time of year as the Macaws come rarely and the smaller birds fear the hawks without the macaws on the lick...but the birds accumulate round the Licks anyway and It is exciting to see them all arriving. There are also local pools full of caiman and turtles and sometimes constrictors. We saw several groups of spider monkeys. Extraordinary with their long muscular tails from which they often swing unsupported. We saw saddle back tamarind, a Titi monkey and the Howlers. What a noise they make...intimidating if you do not know what it is. We also saw and photog' Anaconda and large caiman. My highlight however was an evening trip with our guide further up river to a relatively new roosting sites where Scarlet and Yellow Chested Macaws had gathered in their hundreds simply to socialise before bedtime. All the smaller parrots join in. Their is some competition for roosts and lots of groups fly off as the sun is setting. The boat journey home was a bit exciting in the dark...but thrilling. You must go if you can."
