Located at 664 Westcott dr. The house has 2 bedrooms each with a queen size bed and a seasonal bunkhouse. It is separate from the main house (no bath) with a queen bed very private for those traveling with older kids or two couples. Suited for Summertime only.
Great room has sliding glass doors and windows looking over the bay bring the outside in. There's a super comfy couch, chair and bean bag.
We have direct tv to keep up with the rest of the world. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, Keurig, toaster, blender and general supplies.
The bath is a tub and shower combo with a single sink, small but efficient.
There is a covered porch with propane grill, crab cooker and grill utensils. With outside seating for out long summer nights. We have a fire pit ready for marshmallows or hot dogs.
There is a dock that goes dry due to tide. There are 4 adult and 2 kids kayak's and paddle boards. And remember your well-behaved dog is always welcome with an additional fee.
House is not suited for CHILDREN UNDER 5 Due to gas burning stove is the main heat for the house and gets VERY HOT, as well as a medium bank with drop offs to be aware of.

- "This was our second stay at this property. The house is spacious and stocked with amenities- coffee maker, kitchen wares, etc. It’s set on such a peaceful spot overlooking Westcott Bay. We saw a great blue heron, seals, and otters playing out front. I contacted the owner a few times and she was super responsive to our needs. Our dog loved it too!- there’s a big grassy area perfect for playing fetch. I highly recommend this home." - "A very nice Bayside home with a beautiful view of the sunset. This San Juan Island vacation home near Roche Harbor offers all the essentials to make your vacation memorable for your family and pets. Yes, we are pet friendly! Located on Neil Bay, this property has a nice pebble beach front just down the hill from the house, where you can sit and watch wildlife or launch your kayak. You will find a fire pit, picnic table and benches down by the beach to enjoy.
This home is located in a desirable neighborhood on the NW side of San Juan Island, about a 20 minute drive from Friday Harbor and the ferry. You can walk or bike to nearby Roche Harbor within 20 minutes, where you'll find an airstrip, pool, post office, spa, marina, market, artists' kiosks, shops and restaurants.
This home is an ideal setting for those who enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, kayaking and just plain
relaxing.
You can relax on the deck on long summer evenings and watch eagles, ducks, geese, seals, deer and other wildlife. There is a gas BBQ outside and a wood burning stove in the living room with firewood/kindling provided.
The living room is open and bright with lots of windows and a vaulted ceiling. It is comfortably furnished with a large screen TV for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. Wireless Internet access, HDMI connection and a DVD/CD player are provided. The fully equipped kitchen offers ample space for preparing meals which can be served in the dining room that seats 6 comfortably.
The master bedroom has a king bed and flat screen TV and the master bath has a jacuzzi tub to relax in. The second bedroom has a queen bed plus an outstanding water view from its window and private access to the deck. The loft bedroom has 2 comfortable twin beds and a half bath.
Besides just relaxing, San Juan Island offers whale watching, kayaking, sailing, hiking and much more. Reuben Tarte Park is about 2 miles away, the Frisbee golf course is about 1 mile away. A must see is the Westcott Bay Sculpture Park and the San Juan Island Distillery both near Roche Harbor.

- "Wonder place." - "The house was fully equipped for a great long weekend with family. Six of us, including grandparents, stayed together in this space. The kids enjoyed the proximity to the rocky beach and sleeping in the loft. We did puzzles, explored the island, and cooked meals together. Definitely would stay there again." - "We had my family of four and my parents with us, as well as my dog and the house fit all our needs. It was a great location, it had a wonderful view with private beach access and it was spacious and comfortable. Check in was very easy and parking was abundant. Heron House on Westcott Bay – Waterfront living near Roche Harbor

Welcome to picturesque Westcott Bay, a quiet retreat, 5 minutes walk from Roche Harbor Resort, shopping and all marina facilities. Heron House is a dog friendly vacation rental newly constructed in October of 2017…3 minutes walk to Roche Harbor’s dog park. Fly in, boat in, or drive in, you’re never more than 5 minutes walk to the Heron House.

What to do on Westcott Bay? Well, you could walk 50 feet out your back door to the beach, or stroll, on all but the highest tides, to Picnic Island. Use the two fishing kayaks to paddle around the bay, troll a line, or set a crab trap. On the weekend, paddle over to the Westcott Bay Shellfish farm for their famous barbequed oysters. Maybe you’d like to hike the nationally recognized trails … all without having to get in your car! If it’s a stroll you have in mind, walk the 3 mile loop past the sculpture gardens (off leash for dogs), through Roche Harbor Resort itself, stopping briefly at Westcott Bay Cider for a tasting, catch a rare Pokémon at the lighthouse mailbox opposite the old quarry 9 swimming hole, and … you’re back home.

If drive you must, head over to Lime Kiln Point for some orca watching, tide pooling, or having a picnic lunch. You could drive 9 miles into the big city of Friday Harbor for all the amenities of a small town.

Roche Harbor Resort provides the opportunity to book a whale watching trip, join a kayak tour around the north end of Henry Island, or, if you’re lucky…schedule a wedding 

The Heron House is named for the great blue herons that daily stalk the shallows or perch on Picnic Island. Bring your camera for some close up shots of them or the bald eagles that fish in Westcott Bay.

- "We absolutely loved staying at this cute home. It was the perfect base for exploring. The kitchen was very well stocked and the water toys were wonderful. Blue Sea Bungalow (near Roche Harbor) is a great place to make some San Juan memories! This cozy home was built in 2015 and is comfortably furnished with a nautical/beach motif throughout.

The kitchen and dining room provide enough space for everyone to gather comfortably around the table or prepare meals together. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and plenty of dishes, cookware, and spices.

The downstairs Primary Suite has a Queen-sized bed and is connected to a continental bathroom. The 2nd bedroom is upstairs with a view of Westcott Bay and a full-sized bed with a Memory Foam mattress. The 3/4 bathroom is upstairs as well.

The living room's comfortable futon couch converts into a bed. Enjoy an evening movie on the new 40" TV in the living room with access to Netflix and other streaming services.

Blue Sea Bungalow offers a large yard full of fun as well! Fire up the BBQ, pull up a chair and relax around the firepit (seasonally permitted and firewood is not provided). Enjoy a game of horseshoes, “corn hole”, or croquet in the back yard. This open space and rural setting are perfect for star gazing while sitting with friends around the seasonal campfire.

The Westcott Bay Oyster Farm is just at the end of the neighborhood. A connector trail to English Camp and Mount Young is also at the end of the street near the farm and lagoon. There is a nice trail on Bell Point (in the National Park) that can lead you to public water access.

It's a short 1.5 miles to Roche Harbor, where you can rent kayaks, SUP's, etc. and check out the beautiful garden and historical sights.

This home is not suitable for parties or excessively loud groups. Due to the large lawn and proximity to the water, sound carries easily through this neighborhood.

This property does not have Air Conditioning. Fans are provided.

- "One of the best vacation rentals I’ve stayed at. Deer and foxes in the yard every night. Best stocked rental I’ve ever been in. Great location,5 min drive to Roche. Could walk down to Wescott Bay. Quiet neighborhood. Had three young kids, we all loved it. Only thing is that the futon doesn’t lay flat, it’s like a recliner type futon, which wasn’t ideal. Wish they’d switch that out." - "Our group of four was joining another couple on a boat in Roche Harbor, this was an easy commute to Roche and was a perfect place to stay. Loved seeing all the wildlife! So many birds, deer, and even a fox!"

Waterfront! The Elephant house is a unique and cozy waterfront island retreat! Decorated with elephants throughout and offering wonderful Spieden Channel views it's no doubt a place for enjoyment and relaxation. Located about a mile from Roche Harbor, this retreat is convenient to many amenities including shopping, dining, and nightlife activities, if you desire. Enjoy walks, bike rides or launch stand-up paddle boards or kayaks from the community beach at the isthmus. Indulge in the different varieties of wildlife such as birds, eagles, seals, whales, deer, and fox that inhabit the areas around this home.

Accommodations include a master loft furnished with a King-sized bed, and a sitting area that looks out a picture window to the water. The second room is located on the main level and is furnished with a King-sized bed as well.

There is vinyl plank flooring in the great room and bedrooms, and primary bathroom and tile flooring in the hall bathroom and kitchen. There are lots of windows that let in the natural sunlight in the living room.

The spacious kitchen has granite countertops and stainless appliances. There is both a traditional Cuisinart coffee maker as well as a Keurig with frother, French press, 4 slice toaster, vitamix blender, hand held blender, hand held mixer, salad spinner, crock pot, rice maker, large electric griddle and an electric kettle. The dining area has seating for 6 and there is also bar seating for 2. There is plenty of space to enjoy board games or to work on a puzzle. If you can’t unplug, the home does have a desk, StarLink wireless internet service and offers good cell phone reception.

Kittiwake Getaway offers 3 bedrooms with well-appointed sleeping for 6. The primary bathroom has an attached full ensuite with a large shower surrounded by glass enclosure and is stocked with plush linens, shampoo and conditioner, bath and facial bar soaps and body gel. The same amenities are provided in the other bathroom. There is a king size bed in one of the other bedrooms and a queen size bed in the other. There is also a queen size air mattress available for a 7th guest, provided upon request, which is considered a 4th bed. It can be easily placed in the living room. The expansive deck with a peekaboo view of the ocean across to Speiden Island offers a dining table with seating for 6, propane firepit table and propane barbeque grill (1 filled propane bottle for each provided) and is a great place to relax and unwind from a day's adventure, or to enjoy the serenity of the surroundings which include beautiful madrona, fir, and evergreens and abundant wildlife such as deer, eagles, native birds and fox.

Kittiwake Getaway is just 1 1/2 miles from Roche Harbor Resort Pool available to Roche Harbor Guests and the public (you) for a daily fee. The pool is seasonal and occasionally closed to the public so be sure to check what the availability is during the dates you stay.

- "My girlfriends get together every year and explore a new piece of the Pacific Northwest. This was our first group trip to the San Juan islands and Susan’s home didn’t disappoint! The kitchen is well stocked so we could cook big meals to enjoy together. I appreciated all the little touches - like the ziplocks, coffee bar, nice shampoo/conditioner/ soaps etc. We enjoyed sitting together on the porch and soaking up the sunshine too. We played board games from the home and appreciated the selection of puzzles. This home is just as the photos show & has many touches the photos don’t capture. We’d definitely stay here again in the future and would recommend for someone who wants to be close to Roche Harbor or explore the island."

Kingfisher Waterfront Paradise! Waterfront! Dock Access! Close to the Roche Harbor!

Peaceful, waterfront house with dock nested in a half-acre of fir and cedar forest on Davison Head is a haven of natural beauty and tranquility. From the cedar deck overlooking secluded Neil Bay you can hear the sounds of bald eagles, blue herons and kingfisher. A pleasant 15-minute walk will take you to Roche Harbor Marina and Airport where you can enjoy a grocery store, shopping and award-winning dining. The house is a 20-minute drive from the ferry terminal in Friday Harbor.

**Tides in Neil Bay can be extreme and during low tide, the water can get low enough for the dock to be beached. At zero tide there is approximately zero feet of water. Please contact the office for special instructions regarding dock usage.**

This over 4000 square foot home offers a warm ambiance with its cedar log construction and cherry hardwood floor. The open floor plan and stunning waterfront views leave guests in awe as they enter the home. The gourmet kitchen with open fir cabinets is a welcoming area to enjoy the local produce and seafood bounty from the island. The living room is a sunny area for reading or a short nap after an island bike ride. A separate room contains the HDTV (Chromecast TV, you will need to log into the apps with your own info) and gas fireplace for the cooler evenings.

A primary suite upstairs has a King sized bed, walk-in shower and bath tub with a magnificent water view. A second guest bedroom upstairs is equipped with a Queen sized bed and an extra Twin bed for little guests, also with a private en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
The third bedroom on the main level also features a Queen sized bed with an adjacent bath and combination bathtub/ shower. There is also one additional bathroom on the main level that has a walk-in shower.

A spacious daylight basement has a game room including a pool table/ ping-pong table, card and foosball table, and a futon bed available. Just outside is the path to the private floating dock where a multitude of water activities can be enjoyed, including kayaking, canoeing and standup paddle boarding.

Finish your day on the lovely cedar deck overlooking Neil Bay as you enjoy an outdoor barbeque dinner among friends. The seabirds and wildlife will be sure to ease you into the relaxing island lifestyle.

There is a main house and guest house with a short trail between them (about 40 feet). Both have their own decks, kitchens, and bathrooms. Enough beds to sleep 6-7 adults comfortably with a max of 8 guests allowed. The open, high ceiling livingroom/dining area/kitchen in the main house is perfect for family or friends group gatherings. Cozy and picturesque during colder months, and stunning in the warm, sunny months.

MAIN HOUSE: Large windows let in tons of natural light. The central living room area (gas stove included) connects to an open kitchen which has lots of counter space, a view of the water, and is fully stocked with cooking appliances and staples. A large wood dining table is great for group meals. Master bedroom (with attached master bathroom) has bay view and sliding glass doors to front deck. 2nd bedroom is on the other side of the house from the master bedroom, and has window that faces the woods.

GUEST CABIN: A comfortable and cozy space with it's own bathroom, dining nook, and kitchenette. Guest house bedrooms share a wall. 1 room has a double bed, the other has a bunk bed.

OUTDOOR SPACE/VIEW: A short, gradual trail leads down to the pebble/barnacle beach. In addition to views of the bay, the property looks out into lush greenery of "British Camp", a protected national park. Across the bay is the world-famous Westcott Bay Shellfish Company, a small operation on the water's edge.

You can dig clams or collect mussels along the property's beachfront. If you travel by boat to the islands, Westcott Bay is a great place for dungeness crabbing during open season (typically July through September/October; details about open season and licenses can be found on the Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife website). Fishing for trout, salmon, and bottomfish is also popular in the region and excursions can be arranged with local tour/recreation companies based in Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor.

ACTIVITIES: The surrounding region is great for walking, hiking, kayaking, biking, boating, fishing, and crabbing. Friday Harbor is 20 minutes away by car or 1 hour by bike. Large ocean-side beaches are a 20-30 minute drive to the other side of the island (e.g. American Camp or South Beach). Whale watching opportunities can be arranged in Roche Harbor or Friday Harbor.

Relax on the loveseat and sofa, read a book across from the electric fireplace for that calming ambiance or enjoy family time watching a movie on the 55" flat screen television with satellite service.

The spacious, fully equipped kitchen was recently updated with new stainless appliances and granite countertops. There is both a traditional coffee maker as well as a Keurig. The dining area has seating for 6 and there is also bar seating for 3. There is plenty of space to enjoy board games or to work on a puzzle. If you can’t unplug, the home does have wireless internet service and offers good cell phone reception for most carriers.

The cottage offers 3 bedrooms with well-appointed sleeping for 6. (7th guest is allowed at an additional fee per night. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has plenty of room for children and the family dog to play and romp in the fenced backyard and is conveniently located a short walk to the historic seaport town of Roche Harbor for fine restaurants, shopping, walking the docks, or playing on the beach at the isthmus.

Nice open floor plan so families can be together while cooking in the kitchen, playing foosball in the game room or watching sports on the 65" HD TV in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a separate dining room with a table and six chairs, plus two extra upholstered folding chairs for added seating. Don't worry about bringing salt and pepper. The owner tries to provide most spices you would need, along with olive oil, vinegar, etc. They even try to keep some coffee in stock.

The owners offer a wood burning stove in the recreation room and a fireplace in the living room. Wood is available at no charge on the property. Free internet and DirecTV is available. The primary bedroom is a king with a full bath and TV, the guest room is a queen with full bath, and the game room now has a sofa bed that can accommodate your children or adults.

Nearby activities include playing on the beach at the isthmus, swimming at the Roche Harbor pool for a nominal fee, taking a stroll through Roche Harbor’s sculpture park, kayaking, gin tasting, hiking nearby trails and parks, fishing, crabbing and exploring Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor.

The house is perfect for two couples, their family and dogs to enjoy time to relax and unwind while enjoying the quiet of the Neil Bay neighborhood.

Fire pits are not usable from May 1st-September 30th due to county burn ban and safety of property and neighboring areas. Ban is usually lifted October 1st if/when conditions and weather are favorable. Firewood is provided for off-season.

One house-trained, less than 65-pound dog per reservation with a pet fee. If a request for an additional dog is made, an additional fee will be assessed. Only two dogs maximum are allowed. Dogs are not to be left unattended. If a dog is left unattended and a neighbor calls to complain about noise or other disruption by the dog, renter will be charged a $200 fee. Pets are not allowed on furniture. Renter assumes responsibility for all extra cleaning needed such as emergency carpet cleaning, furniture replacement, and or emergency laundromat use for bulky items like comforters and pillows. Dogs must be house trained, and on-leash while outside.

- "Lovely house, well equipped, very modern and clean. Unfortunately, when booked the plan was to have five adults and a small dog. One of the adults got covid and had to bail out. The couple with the dog had travel issues and couldn't make it, leaving just my wife and I. All of that was bad enough then on our second day there my wife had a misstep (be careful of the step leading into the game room just inside the main entrance), she badly sprained her ankle such that walking was painful and difficult. She also strained some interstitial ribs muscle catching herself from the subsequent fall. Icing, taping, ibuprofen helped, but our plans to further explore the island were dashed. Rather than hanging around we figured convalescing and care for the ankle and rib muscles could be better handled at home, we were able to switch our ferry sailing day and departed a day early. Rather than three nights we were only there two nights. So a house large enough to comfortably accommodate six people only has two of us and our three night stay was truncated to just two night. In the end no matter how nice the house was (and it was very nice indeed) the trip was pretty much a bust."

The open floor plan of this home is perfect for a couple's getaway or family adventure. The large kitchen and living room are lined with windows to maximize the beautiful and diverse, sunny views of Neil Bay. There is a mooring buoy for guest use.

Spend your day exploring the scenic surroundings in the bay or the many attractions in this area. Evenings can be enjoyed watching sunsets at the isthmus, or, with a board game around the dining room table. The wraparound deck makes wildlife spotting an easy activity at this home. River otters and seals can often be seen in the bay. Eagles, hawks, and many other northwest birds are known to frequent the tall trees of Davison Head as well.

With a grocery store minutes away and the spacious kitchen layout, preparing meals at this property is a breeze. Hiking trails and historic landmarks are just minutes from this cottage for the explorers in your group, while the ample seating in the main area will entice the relaxers to unwind and enjoy the view.

CLASSIC WATERFRONT CABIN WITH GREAT SUNSETS, AND A SUPER LOCATION NEAR ROCHE HARBOR

Don’t try to change the island, let the island change you….

For more than forty years, Sunset Vista has built and hosted a happy tribe of vacationers that want to connect in groups of 2 – 6 and create memories. Many like the lowkey, even rustic, charm of this oceanfront cabin. Of course, there are a few visitors that say “meh”. If you want a mint on your pillow or think pine needles are yucky, this may not be the best option. But if you are curious about building memories in a low-key relaxed setting near Roche Harbor Resort, keep reading!

The home is located down a wooded driveway in the desirable Roche Harbor area. The neighboring streets are great for biking and walking while the dining, shopping, and marina activities at Roche Harbor are within a 5-minute drive or easy 20-minute walk.

From the deck there are marvelous views of Speiden Island and you will also have a front row seat to watch the boating activity heading to and from Roche Harbor and Sydney, BC. On long summer evenings you are positioned to catch some of the best sunsets in the world.

On the main floor, there is a bath with a shower as well as a private bedroom with a queen bed. Other beds are located on an open loft upstairs. This area provides two separate sleeping areas divided by a wall, one with two twin beds and the other with a full-size bed. Please note that the open loft does not provide total privacy for either of the upstairs sleeping areas. The living room features a wood burning fireplace (wood not supplied) and book nook.

Sunset Vista is on medium bank waterfront (caution to all…especially parents!) with no direct shoreline access, however it is only a five-minute walk to the beautiful neighborhood beach known as The Isthmus.

During the last three years, we have made continual changes and upgrades...some are reflected in the pictures and some are not since they are very new. They include: New living room sectional. New dining room table. Maytag stainless range and stove. Maytag stainless refrigerator/freezer. Whirlpool stainless microwave. All five beds have a new bedframe or mattress and provide better support, including two Beautyrest Black queen mattresses (hotel quality). As well, new lamps, nightstands, books, kitchen utensils, plates, glasses and pots/pans have been added.

Tech update: In 2019, we upgraded online connectivity via wireless internet. Based on fast.com, it delivers consistently 25 MBPS internet speed, which does support streaming multiple devices….at least three by our count!

One more thing…the countertops are orange. Breathe into your heart center, embrace the orangeness and then take a look out the window at the Pacific Ocean. A group of seals is out there waiting for you at sunset and you should join them in enjoying the orange sunset.

Also located on the main level of this home you will find 2 media rooms. One is perfectly furnished with a sectional seating perfect for movie watching on the 60’’ flat screen television. The second room offers individual, overstuffed cushion chairs, a 60’’ flat screen television, and a desk with fax machine for those that must.

The two lower-level bedrooms are beautifully furnished and share a continental bathroom. The spacious water view bedroom is furnished with a King size bed. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed.

The second level offers two mirrored, 925 square foot primary suites. Each suite encompasses striking water views and has a private balcony. Each is furnished with a King size bed, sitting areas, and is complemented by stunning, spacious primary bathrooms. Completely finished in marble, the primary bathrooms offer dual sinks, oversized showers, and soaking tubs. Between the two primary suites is another bedroom equipped with 2 Twin beds, an attached half-bath, a peloton exercise bike, and sweeping views of Westcott Bay.

The third level of this home is perfect for the younger members of your group! With two bedrooms, a full marble finished bathroom, and gaming/television area they will enjoy themselves as well. One bedroom is furnished with one Queen bed and one Twin bed (this bedroom can be set up as 3 twin beds as well). The second bedroom offers two double size beds.

Within a mile you’ll find the Westcott Bay Sculpture Park and the Roche Harbor Resort, Marina, and Spa. Enjoy fine dining, kayaking and whale watching tours, shopping, and the relaxed ambiance of the mariner lifestyle. - "We hosted a party of 18 for my 50th birthday and the house was absolutely perfect for a large group spanning a large age range. There was room for everyone to sleep, play, connect, cook, and the house is so well situated to Roche Harbor that it was also super easy to access the amenities. The property manager was highly responsive on all issues and needs and super generous with their time in helping us manage package deliveries, and was quick to turn around refunding our deposit. My only feedback is that the area has a LOT of mosquitoes. Like a LOT. Bring bug spray and citronella candles and you'll manage it just fine."

The property manager went the extra mile to replace a coffee maker that was not working, it was delivered within an hour. Overall a great place to stay and I will be coming back. "
