The space

This brand new, 645 sq foot, one bedroom private suite has a brand new Sterns and Foster Queen bed in the bedroom, while the living room has a sectional (with a double sofa bed pull out). You can watch your favourite movie or show on the 55 LED Samsung TV (there is also a Google Chromecast attached to the TV so you watch your Netflix, Crave, etc) or use the office space for your business needs, with free high speed internet (Internet 300 - really fast internet).

You will have use of a fully stocked kitchen with complimentary coffee (Tassimo and Keurig machine) and tea as well as toast, waffles, granola bars, cereal, eggs and oatmeal for breakfast. The kitchen has all the amenities you need; a full stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, and pots/pans, with all the kitchenware and glassware you need. The living room is full of natural light and has a brand new sectional couch (can be used as a pull out double sofa bed) for you to rest your weary head. You have a bright, clean and modern full bathroom with a combination bathtub and shower. There is also a stackable washer and dryer for those long stays (with complimentary soap and fabric softner). The space

Our suite has a full well-equipped kitchen, a cozy gas fireplace and a luxurious bathroom with heated floors, large walk-in shower and locally made soaps and shampoo etc. It’s equipped with in-suite washer and dryer and more closet space than you’ll need even for longer stays.

The suite has its own private entrance with keycode lock, so you can come and go as you wish. We live on the property but we respect your privacy and you may not even see us during your stay - unless you want to, in which case we'll be happy to help out with recommendations, directions, or other arrangements.

We're renting the unit as a studio for one party of guests, with a sleeping area separated by sliding screens. An adjoining bedroom may be available for guests with family or for those wishing a fully separate sleeping space; please contact us for rates.

Guest access

Feel free to relax and dine on the patio, in the yard, in the big red chairs beachside, or of course on the beach itself. Let us know if you want to borrow the rowboat for a beautiful excursion along the shoreline if you are experienced on the water.

Interaction with guests

We live on the property and are available if you need assistance, but we will respect your privacy. With key-code entry you might not even see us - unless you want to, in which case we'd be happy to recommend local restaurants and attractions, good hikes, etc.

Other things to note

While the beach is eminently walkable, you'll need to walk down three steps and hop across a few logs to get there. Watch your step!

We don't have cable but you're welcome to use our Netflix account, stream wirelessly to the AppleTV or connect your phone or tablet directly to the TV.

There is no phone in the suite so if you don’t have one, just knock on our front door if you need to make a call.

Sidney is just a few minutes away and is a charming little town with great restaurants. This place is a spectacular gem. The pictures don’t come close to doing it justice. It’s impeccably clean and literally a few steps from the Salish Sea. We enjoyed using the well-stocked kitchen and there were ample supplies of consumable items. They even supplied laundry soap and dryer sheets! We had such a relaxing stay and hope to return someday. While we didn’t interact with John and Sarah in person, they checked in via email to be sure we had everything we needed. Other reviews talked about the comfort of the bed, and they are spot on. Welcome to our brightly lit suite, located only a five minute drive from downtown Sidney, that will become your new home away from home. In our 480 square foot space, you'll enjoy luxurious bath robes, a unique palette wall in the bedroom and a view of the garden out the back window. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with anything you may need for any length of stay. You can curl up in front of the fireplace on the beautiful leather couch to watch a movie on the 55-inch smart TV. The bathroom is equipped with any extra toiletries you may need, along with a spacious bathtub for ultimate relaxation. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed with new, cozy linens. The black out blinds will allow you to sleep in as long as you'd like, even after the sun comes up. There is a private entrance and a path leading straight up to the suite. A short, 10 minute walk down the road you will find yourself at a beautiful beach called Roberts Bay, which is a migratory bird sanctuary. You can spot lots of wildlife and on a clear day, there's a wonderful view of Mount Baker. Only a 5 minute drive to downtown Sidney, or a 25 minute walk, you can find many delicious places to eat, small-town shops and different water activities such as kayak rental or whale watching. There is a bus stop located a 2 minute walk down the road that can bring you to many different places, including Sidney or Victoria. We are surrounded by many beautiful hikes and walks, beaches, and lots of other places to explore. We live in the upstairs so we are always available for any questions or concerns you may have. Excellent accessibility with no curbs or steps to the entrance, or inside and a designated wide parking spot. The primary BR boasts a queen bed and two large closets & desk area, the secondary BR has a double bed and a large closet, the LR offers dining table and a long sofa where an additional guest could sleep. 58" TV and internet access. "Super location at the end of a dead end street and you can enter the beautiful and manicured Dominion Brook Park at the top of our driveway. This park is dog friendly with numerous water features, trials, outdoor tables, public washrooms, and wide open spaces offering views of the mountains and ocean. We are also just a short 5 minute walk to public transit and the Panorama Recreation Centre offering lap and warm water pools, dry and steam saunas, jacuzzi, weight room, skating, squash and tennis with outdoor basketball and large play structures. The spectacular John Dear Park is also a short 5 minute drive which offers fabulous trails amongst gigantic trees with locations for breath-taking mountain and ocean views.

This spectacular property is divided by Lochside Dr. and while the Beach House itself
is situated across the road from the Salish Sea there is 10,000 square feet of park like property with walk on beach access for you to explore. The ocean side has two levels, both levels have large picnic tables for your enjoyment. The lower level is accessed via the driveway and gives you direct access to the beach and is for the exclusive use of Salish Sea Beach House guests. I am sorry but the Solaris Suite is not pet friendly.

The bed was soft and comfortable, there were dividers to offer more privacy between the sleep area and the windows, lots of seating. Loved the soaker tub! Kitchenette had basic amenities, and we were provided with fresh fruit, bread, milk and other dry goods, enough that guests can prepare basic meals if they choose to. Across the road the property goes down to the waterfront, and both myself and my husband enjoyed some relaxing hours down here. The space
The space is clean and bright with new flooring and paint to create a very calm relaxed feeling throughout. Master bedroom has new queen mattress, the second smaller bedroom has a bunk bed with new twin mattresses. A fully stocked kitchen includes microwave, stove, oven, Keurig, fridge, freezer etc.
The guest suite offers a semi-private patio with retractable privacy screen (shown in photo) and new Webber bbq & grilling essentials.
There is a sunny fenced in yard with games (bocce, badminton, volley ball). Perfect for a weekend or longer term stay!

This is a beautiful open concept lower level one bedroom, one bathroom B&B. The bathroom has a stand up shower, toilet and sink and is located next to the bedroom.
The bedroom has top quality organic cotton percale sheets and pillows. The outdoor patio also has a dining table and comfortable seating with a view of the water.

Its is a perfect retreat for a couple who wish to take some time to relax and be by the ocean. There is a TV with Google chromecast and an HDMI cable available so you can stream from your own devices.

We live on the upper floor, so noise transfer is inevitable. However, we do try to keep noise to a minimum.

We have a large friendly dog that will want to say hello. If you are not into dogs, please let us know and we will endeavour to keep them out of your way.

We are conveniently located 10 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the ferries and 10 minutes to the Town of Sidney which has great restaurants and shops.

Welcome to The Arbutus Loft! Ardmore is an exclusive neighbourhood with very large lots surrounded by trees and ocean. Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac this loft within a new executive home was completed in 2023. Start your morning gazing out the wall of windows that has you floating in the trees. What next? Access one of the many public forested trails; perhaps a 150m trail walk South to Coles Bay or a 600m walk North to Ardmore golf course, you will feel like you are living in a resort.

Ardmore is connected by trails throughout the neighbourhood allowing for walking, running, and cycling in the forest. Being on the west side of the peninsula we are sheltered which provides warmer air and ocean temperatures. Swimming and paddle boarding in Coles Bay is popular throughout the summer.

We designed this house with privacy in mind; no walls in the suite are shared with the living space of the main house. The 900 square foot loft is above the garage but has been fully soundproofed plus double drywall and triple pane windows, no need to tip toe around as we cannot hear each other! The living room/kitchen is open concept with a wall of windows and a skylight as well as a privacy window in the bathroom; it is an extremely bright and quiet suite that feels even roomier with 9 foot ceilings.

The Kitchen is spacious and complete with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and soft close drawers. It is fully outfitted including a Nespresso machine, kettle, waffle maker, pancake griddle, rice cooker and stocked with essentials such as Nespresso pods, tea, spices, oil, sugar and a few treats! Full size laundry is also available beside the kitchen.

Two bedrooms each with new high-end King size beds and black out blinds ensure a quiet and comfortable sleep. Plenty of room to hang and fold your things as each bedroom comes with closet organizers.

The living room has plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy a book or access your favorite streaming accounts on the 58” Samsung smart TV (cable is provided). Wi-Fi is lightning fast for use throughout the Loft including a small computer desk with pull out tray should you need to do a bit of work.

You will be comfortable year-round with heat and A/C provided by a mini split system as well as ceiling fans located in each bedroom. Fresh filtered air is continually circulated through the loft via an HRV system. No need for bottled water as all water to the house is processed through a state of the art filtration system.

After coming back from a long hike or a long day out doing other activities, the hot tub was a welcome relief before bed. Finally, communication & check-in process was flawless - one of the best we've ever had in many (many) years of using VRBO. When we had a very minor issue shortly after check-in, the owners were there within minutes to make sure everything was up to par. Enjoy our quiet forest setting. This lovely garden suite is minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, 5-minutes to the Town of Sidney, a 10-minute drive to Victoria International Airport, and less than a half hour drive to the City of Victoria. Many Victoria-area attractions are within a short drive away including the popular Butchart Gardens.

There are so many things to do and see, knowing that a very comfortable, spacious welcoming garden suite awaits you during your stay. Ample parking spaces are available. Six easy steps to enter the sunroom leading you to a well appointed kitchen which includes a coffee machine (drip and Keurig), air fryer, fridge, stove, juicer, spices, microwave, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, baking and roasting pans and more.

The master bedroom has a king-sized bed. The second bedroom has two twin beds and a chaise lounge. The bathroom is equipped with all essential items, Including hair dryer, flat iron and hair spray. Enjoy a soak in the bathtub with Epsom salt.

We have fast wi-fi in the suite. The living room has a new wood stove, comfortable seating, and a 58-inch smart TV with a great cable package (including Netflix, Prime, Crave, HBO and a good selection of sports channels). The dining table has seating for 6 comfortably, but can accommodate 8.

Enjoy a Sauna (infrared) after a day of touring. It has seating for 3.
A walkway takes you to a gazebo in the garden for meditation, quiet reading, coffee and smoke breaks, away from the main suite.

We are a pet friendly home and would expect that you clean up after your pup and not allow them on the furniture. Please leash your furry friend when leaving the unit. There are some great places to walk your dog, whether it is just around our neighborhood, or to the ocean at the government dock, or one of the trails or marinas in the area. Also fun for your pup is a popular off leash dog park (Cy Hampson Park) about a 10-minute drive away.

Nearby hiking trails and a duck pond trail are a joy to walk. We are within a short walking distance of a few marinas, one of which has a great pub and a cafe/fine dining restaurant.

The quaint seaside town of Sidney is just a 5 minute drive away. From there you can book whale watching tours, and kayak rentals. A Sidney Island Spit boat will take you to sandy beaches for your picnic lunch, purchased from one of the wonderful bakeries located here. The ocean pier walk about will take you to wonderful restaurants and Port Sidney to view boats and shopping! The summer months offer many activities from live concerts by the ocean to street markets.

The Army and Navy Club has popular live band music every Friday night, a large dance floor, pool tables and darts. Open to all. Truly the best place for fun.

Cycling is very popular here with a paved trail taking you from near FireThorn Manor to Sidney and beyond to experience island life. We are close to wineries, breweries, and even a gin distillery which are very popular.

The owner is a Clinical Esthetician and Diabetic Foot Specialist with a studio inside the manor above the suite should you require treatments.

Stay in your self contained, fully furnished ocean front cottage, situated on 2 acres of gardens and forest. Located 4 kms from Victoria International Airport, and Ardmore Golf Course, and 6 Kms from world famous Butchart Gardens. We are also close to bike and hike trails.

After breakfast, walk down to the beach, read a book, draw, or meditate. Bring your kayak and paddle over to see the seals ( from a distance of course). Or, just sit on a log which has drifted in and contemplate life. Or go for a dip..;
For foodies, the Saanich Peninsula is home to many farms and farmers' markets. All within 10 kms. In June, buy fresh strawberries, and raspberries. July brings blueberries and August brings fresh corn. It"s like being in Provence but the farmers speak English.
Love the night sky? Sit outside on a clear night and gaze up at the stars from the comfort of your cedar swing.

Relax back in our large, cosy guesthouse that’s big enough for the whole family, and supplied with all the amenities, including heat/air conditioning, washer/dryer, large tv, and wifi; to name a few. Large decks overlook duck ponds and pastures of grazing cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens and turkeys. The view from the deck over neighbouring farms is second to none. The area is well know for its diverse bird population- from Owls and eagles, to herons and sparrows. A bird-lovers paradise.
Our home is the perfect escape from the city, yet 5 min from the airport, ferries, and Town of Sidney - a charming seaside town with everything from breweries, fine restaurants, museums, and cinemas, to great shopping!
We are a 10 min walk to the Pat Bay beach, which is warm and swimmable in the summer, and has the most amazing sunsets anytime of year.
We are surrounded by amazing hiking trails and parks.
Perhaps one of the most breath taking aspects of our area is the The Gulf Islands National Park. You can access some of these Islands by ferry, or we can arrange a private boat charter upon request.

The open-concept main floor great room with its vaulted wooden ceiling, hardwood floors, large skylight, and tall garden-view windows, includes a living room, dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The entire east-facing main living area lies at the rear of the house and receives full morning sun on clear days. A powder room and a laundry room on the main floor are also available for guest use.

The upper floor features two light-filled, carpeted bedrooms each with its own large closet. The main bedroom includes a new queen-sized bed and the second bedroom is furnished with two beds, one double and one twin. This floor also includes an office space for those requiring a separate place to use Internet or read as well as a large full bathroom with tub/shower combination.

Other amenities include a dishwasher, a full-sized solid-surface electric stove, large fridge and washer/dryer. Additional features are a gas fireplace, WiFi, cable television, a heat pump for comfortable heating and air conditioning, and both east and west-facing private outdoor patio areas.
