A locally made, cedar-wrapped hot tub, with massaging jets, accommodate four adults. The tub uses a salt water solution that eliminates the need for harsh chemical treatments. A wood pellet fueled grille is controlled manually or by a phone app. The patio also includes an Arts & Crafts styled firepit and firewood rack. The entire patio is surrounded by a cedar privacy fence.

Porch
The south-facing front of the house has an open-sided, covered porch with chairs and a firewood box. The firewood box offers sheltered access to a week’s worth of firewood. A tree swing is in the front yard.

A modern furnace and central air-conditioner is ducted to every room in the house. Password-protected, high-speed, wireless internet services the entire property. There is a gravel parking area big enough for 4 automobiles. Snow removal service is included in the cost of rental. Seven full cords of split and dried firewood surround the house. History
"The Fox House" was built in 1912 from remnants of rock used to build the historic Mormon Temple, in downtown Salt Lake City. The structure was originally built simply as a place to pelt fox and mink. The farm operated from 1912 to 1970. The original rock shell was completely remodeled for use as a home in the early 1970s. One family of eleven children was raised in the home from 1973 to 1993.

A second complete remodel and refurnishing of the home, and re-landscaping of the property, began in 2018 and continues to this day. The home still has unfinished elements to it, including exposed old wood that will not be attractive to some guests. It is simply a very old house. If you expect a new house with paint, plastic fixtures, plastic laminates, linoleum, porcelain, polyurethane, sheetrock, corian or other modern materials, you will be disappointed. Expect natural materials such as: stained wood, quartzite, slate, leather, iron, copper and glass. The home is a work in progress.

The effort endeavors to create a Craftsman-styled home, reminiscent of the American Arts & Crafts (1890-1920) movement that peaked around 1912. The roof material is a combination of hand-split cedar shakes and solid copper panels.

This townhome is centrally located, only 20 minutes away from ski resorts during winter and with over a hundred hiking and biking trails within 5 minutes from spring to fall. You'll also find tons of fine dining and fast food joints, along with entertainment places just a couple of blocks away. Getting around Salt Lake County is a breeze, with travel time to anywhere in less than 20 minutes. Additionally, the Trax Station is less than a mile away. There is parking for 1 car in the driveway and a second car can be parked in the backyard, please do not block the access to the backyard.

1) LOCALS MUST MESSAGE US BEFORE BOOKING. If you are a person local to Salt Lake, Utah, Davis counties, you have to message us before booking, if not we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and will not issue refunds.

2) Occupancy limits: We do not allow more than 8 guests in this listing or on the property at any time, violation of which will result in the removal of all guests from the property immediately without refund. You understand that this is located in a nice family neighborhood.

3) This is a self-check-in property: You certify that you are willing and able to follow the instructions that are being provided by VRBO through the house manual or check-in guide. You can find our house manual and check-in guide here on the VRBO platform on our listing. You also agree that you will not contact your VRBO host BEFORE reading the house manual and the entire listing.

4) Fees: There is a minimum $250 per day fee for every day of your booking if it is found that you have been smoking on the property. 9. We allow 1 dog under 50lbs as we pay for a short-term rental insurance policy allowing pets. We charge $50 per stay (message us about pet fees for longer stays!). This fee is not an additional cleaning fee. When you bring a pet you agree to a “zero impact pet policy” meaning that when you depart there will be no additional work required to clean up as a result of a pet being on-site. Animals are not allowed on any furniture and we don’t have any carpet other than area rugs. Please help us by closing the bedroom doors to keep your pet on the hard surface areas and off of the beds.

Just a few minutes east of the freeway, it is only 3 minutes from the Shops at South Town Mall and a bunch of amazing places to eat...from fine dining to pubs to fast food! Cinemark theater is also nearby!

Close to ski resorts such as Alta, Brighton, Solitude, and Snowbird and not too far from Snowbasin and Park City! The canyons are also fun to hike and mountain bike if that's what you love! There is a ski rental shop just 3 minutes from our townhouse!

Golf course is just 5 minutes away with golfing range, mini golf and batting cages!

There is a gym at the clubhouse if you want to fit a quick workout in plus lots of walking trails nearby!

Whatever you are doing out this way, our townhouse is clean, cute, well-kept and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between guests, we think you'll love it!

We visited as a group of 4 skiers and the proximity to the mouth of the Little Cottonwood Canyon was ideal for the early morning trips to Alta/Snowbird. There are 4 separate bedrooms with ample space, 2 with ensuite washrooms and one with a bunk bed in case you need extra sleeping arrangements. The large private hot tub was a great way to relax after a long day on the slopes, with even a view of the nearby mountains in the winter! I honestly have 0 negative critiques about the home, every aspect exceeded our expectations. Our host Jackie left very clear access instructions and was always just a quick call away if needed. We loved our stay here and will 100% be back on our next visit to Utah."
