If you need an enclosed field to exercise your dog, then there is one to hire just a five minute drive away. The cottage is very clean, especially important in Covid times, which put our 91 and 95 year youngs at rest as soon as we walked in. The kitchen is very well equipped, and we enjoyed having meals on the secluded outside area overlooking the forest. Wi-fi works well and suited our needs to find out about places of interest, etc., though isn't fast enough for streaming videos - an advantage in our opinion. The cabin is located on our 4 acre plot about 200m from our house with a view of Chanctonbury and a large pond. We are a family with 2 teenagers and 2 friendly dogs and are there to help if needed but far enough away to give you privacy. Steyning high street with its lovely shops, pubs, super markets and tearooms are only 1 mile away. Please note that the dance studio mentioned in the reviews doesn’t exist anymore.

- "We stayed for 5 nights in August and found it a lovely place to have a "get away from it all" stay. The dance studio at the barn was no bother at all - in fact we would play 'guess that tune' to any music we heard. Our stay coincided with the 'One Love' festival down the road which again was no bother with further games if 'Name that tune- reggae style'. The outlook over the lake was lovely and we had regular sightings of the ducks and their ducklings during the day as they waddled their routine rounds. We even saw a deer saunter through the grounds on our first evening there. There are many lovely walks nearby, some of which we explored. After dark we were able to observe the Orionid Meteor shower in the comfort of the decking furniture- fabulous! We had great communication with the owners in spite of them being on holiday themselves. We'd definitely stay again!"

It is a lovely detached property with the added benefit of air conditioning, located on the side of the South Downs, able to comfortably accommodate up to six guests. It provides a fantastic secluded location for couples, families, or small groups of cyclists or walkers to stay, when looking to explore the wider Sussex area. Outside there is a tap for bike and boot washing and an eating area with table and chairs for six, barbecue and fire pit (with free logs) for those cooler evenings. There is a large paddock area for recreation and some outdoor play equipment available for the children.

Steyning is a small, picturesque town, originally one of the most important places in the county during the middle ages, with its large and prosperous port. Now, it resides about 5 miles from the coast, up the River Adur from Shoreham-by-Sea. The centre of the village still has a large number of historic buildings, including many from the medieval and Tudor period.

Today you’ll find independent shops, an assortment of tea rooms and restaurants, pubs, a well-stocked supermarket and a local butcher all on the high street. The award winning Sussex Produce Company stocks high quality produce and some excellent ready meals, where you can shop for food seven days a week and until late in the evening. Also well worth a visit is the Steyning Bookshop and Cobblestone Walk - a unique shopping arcade, all based around a 16th-century tea house.

This lovely romantic retreat is set in the stunning rural grounds, located in the hosts private estate, of the well known Artisan Bakehouse, a multi-award winning Bread Making School and have a range of classes to suit all levels.

This shepherds hut has been designed to an exemplary standard to take full advantage of its surroundings, overlooking meadows, beehives and woodland, often visited by wildlife such as birds, deer, and badgers.

The interior of the hut is cosy and well insulated, housing a bespoke kitchenette with a electric oven and hob, toaster, kettle, fridge and compartment freezer. The owner has also provided a foldaway dining table.

A log burner and outdoor fire pit provides additional cooking and heating facilities for those cooler days and nights.

There is a built king size bed and a smart TV in the curtained off bedroom. The bathroom consists of a loo and shower room.

There is easy parking onsite with a private garden area and lawns. There is a table and chairs for your alfresco dining experiences.

The host has gone to great lengths to ensure this beautiful retreat offers every comfort you will need on your countryside stay.

As a special welcome gesture, guests receive a delightful welcome pack filled with continental breakfast and home made treats, including a freshly baked loaf of sourdough and honey sourced from the on site beehives.

The owners are totally passionate about real bread and want to share that with you. If you too love bread and baking and want to learn more then why not join us on one of our popular Artisan Bread Making Workshops.

Workshops are held in our Bakehouse with its traditional wood burning oven so you can have a truly hands on experience making various breads from around the world and learning new skills that will enable you to make fresh, great tasting bread whenever you like.

Surrounded by some of the most beautiful unspoilt rolling countryside just on the edge of the South Downs National Park with numerous public footpaths to explore and enjoy - a paradise for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Situated just outside the pretty historic market town of Steyning, with its many interesting individual shops, delightful tearooms, cafés and pubs. The south coast beaches are within a 10 minute drive and the vibrant coastal city of Brighton & Hove within 25 minutes.

Whilst the ceiling height in the cottage is 6'2 - 6'4 some beams are lower at 6'1 and 5'11 in places.

Enjoy the historic town of Steyning with its lovely shops and Cobblestone Alleys and its beautiful surroundings and walks in the countryside. Our cabin offers a blend of tranquility and modern comfort on our 4 acre property. You are literally 5m away from a large pond to watch the wild life from the decking with a cup of coffee in the morning. The cottage features a spacious living room with a kitchen, fridge, sofa, bar, dining table with large bifold doors to the terrace. The adjacent bedroom has a SUPER KING size bed with 2 single mattresses (we have a gap filler between the mattresses and a bathroom with a double walk in shower. You won't see our house from your property, we are a good 200m away, You will be able to see the second cabin about 100m away from yours up the hill. You can park right next to the cabin too. An electric charger is right next to you too, however please let us know if you want to use it. There will be an approx. charge of £25 per charge to be paid in cash.
