The manager couldn’t have been more helpful, checking us in early, finding a place to dry our kit, reserving a table for meals etc. The pub is small, simple and cosy with great home made food. The evening was fantastic as the locals were all in singing traditional songs as this was the night before the Padstow Hobby Horse day (May 1st). Rocksalt is our lovely 4-bedroomed holiday home just outside Rock on the North Cornwall coast. Built and furnished to a high standard in 2008, the house is situated in a glorious setting with far-reaching views over the Cornish countryside, yet is only a few minutes drive from Rock which offers water skiing, sailing and paddle boarding, the surfing beach of Polzeath and child-friendly Daymer Bay.

The accommodation is light and airy and comprises 4 large bedrooms with 2 en-suites and 1 family bathroom; an open-plan airy kitchen/lounge/dining area which is extremely well-equipped with large comfy sofas, a flat-screen HD TV and all mod cons. There is a south-facing garden which is fully secure, with a weber charcoal bbq and an outside hot and cold surfers' shower. The patio offers a great place to drink your morning coffee from our Nespresso machine! There is also direct access from the garden into a large field where children can play.

Rock Cottage is set in a peaceful location at Treglyn Farm near to the village of St Minver and close to the beaches of Rock, Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Port Isaac.

The North coast of Cornwall is a great place to visit at any time of year. The road between Newquay and Tintagel weaves its way through one of the finest and most spectacular coastlines in the country. Rock Cottage is in the perfect place to explore this part of Cornwall, with its considerable history and attractions.

The property is a stone built barn conversion with local slate roof. The beautifully furnished property is arranged over 2 floors. Ground floor patio doors to the back and front give views of the surrounding countryside and lead to large gardens and a patio with seating. The downstairs open plan living space consists of a farmhouse style dining table, comfortable sofas and chair, log burning stove, Smart TV and WiFi. The new kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, family sized fridge freezer, toaster and microwave. There is a downstairs loo and space to hang your coats in the entrance hall. You will find many fine paintings enhancing the walls throughout.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, one double, one twin/double and one bunk bedroom suitable for children. There is a newly fitted family bathroom with bath, over shower and loo.

Unique benefits of the property : Tucked away down a private drive but a 4 minute walk from the shops in the centre of Rock, Seamist is ideally situated. Access to the beaches and St Enodoc Golf Course is easy too, by foot or car. A completely private and enclosed garden is ideal to sit in during summer evenings and for children to play in. Our home is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Towels are provided, beds are made-up for your arrival, there is lots of hanging space and tea, coffee and milk are waiting for you when you arrive to welcome you. The open-fire is lovely on colder evenings; on warmer ones there is a big gas BBQ and teak garden furniture for you to use. Surfboards and bucket and spades are left for you to use. Coast/Beach and Golf: Seamist is walking distance to the beach. There are many stunning beaches in Rock and the surrounding area. Rock beach, Golf Club beach and Daymer Bay can all be reached by foot;Padstow is a 10 minute ferry ride from Rock beach. There is excellent sailing and waterskiing with good facilities at the Waterski club and Rock Sailing school. Polzeath beach is a 5 minute drive and offers amazing surfing for all ages. There are some great surfing schools. The beaches in the area are stunning.

The position is good for the shops in Rock and only a short walk to Porthilly beach and Rock beach beyond where you can get the ferry to Padstow. The immediate surrounding area is nice and quiet. We took our own as local rental was a bit steep so it meant an extra bag in the car and more washing when we got home. Otherwise a great place to stay :)"

The Saints Way, a famous walk, runs directly outside the cottage linking the north and south coast. Cuckoo Hollow is a wonderful 5 bedroom house, decorated to a high standard just 2 minutes from Daymer Beach. There a re 2 ensuite master bedrooms and 3 other bathrooms for guests to use. There is a comfortable sitting room with a log burning stove and 55" 4K Smart TV and a separate games room with a 55" TV, older style playstation and Wii as well as a games table. The open plan kitchen and breakfast room leads out onto the garden via bi folding doors, perfect for a BBQ on the patio with an outdoor table that sits 12. There is also an office with BT phone, printer and internet, suitable for a space to get some work done if required. The large boot room is an ideally place to leave muddy boots and coats and is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. This much loved family home, has been finished to a high standard and is perfect for family holidays on the beach.

The Linhay is one of our three barns nestling around a courtyard situated on our family run farm. You will enjoy uninterrupted Cornish countryside views and our cows are often grazing in the fields next door to your 2 acre garden area with outside play area.

The Linhay has 2 bedrooms both with black out curtains to ensure you are able to have a good nights sleep, accommodating up to 4 people. The ground floor bedroom can either have a zipped and linked bed which makes a super king, or twin beds, with a shower en-suite. The first floor gallery bedroom has a king size bed with en-suite bathroom.

The fully equipped kitchen/lounge/diner boasts an open vaulted ceiling with wooden beams, comfy sofas and the French doors then lead you onto your patio area with a shared 2 acre garden and outside play equipment.

Ideal location to explore Cornwall" - "This is a lovely property for a relaxing break away from the hubbub of nearby towns, with countryside views, in easy driving distance to Wadebridge and Padstow. The field is great for kids to play in, and the Saints Way passes right by, so a long walk to Padstow is very doable, about 4 very pretty miles. The property is on a farm and there are sometimes cows in the next field, and the neighbouring chickens potter about, as well as choughs, crows, and even grouse. At night we could hear owls hooting, and the stars were beautifully clear to see. Alison was a lovely host, and we appreciated the cake when we arrived."

With beautiful vaulted ceilings, and a fabulous optional Shepherds Hut (sleeping a further 3), Frog Manor is ideal for all your adventures in Cornwall and provides a cosy base all year round. Getting here couldn’t be easier, with it being less than two hours to arrive from London via Newquay airport you can be enjoying the estuary views and scenic countryside in no time.

The house itself has two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other has three single beds. You will also have use of our fabulous Shepherds Hut which sleeps a further 3 guests and is available for an extra cleaning fee of £20.

Once you’re here you’ll be spoilt for choice with dozens of dining options within just a few miles of Rock. In the town itself there is a wonderful pub; The Mariners, which is owned by Paul Ainsworth and is just one of 5 of his establishments in the local area - 4 of which are only across the water in Padstow and each has its own distinct style of dining.

Also just a quick ferry ride away is the ever popular Seafood Restaurant by Rick Stein and great local spot Prawn on the Lawn in Padstow. While up the road in Port Isaac there are two restaurants owned by Nathan Outlaw and the Port Gaverne Hotel which is a destination hotel with an excellent reputation.

With your choice of two stunning decks to use, or the large bi-fold doors, you can watch the sun go down on wonderful countryside views come rain or shine.

You could spend your holiday practicing your backhand in the shared tennis court that is only a few meters away (appropriate shoes needed of course)

Perhaps a tour of the local brewery is exactly how you’d like to while away an afternoon or maybe you’d prefer to sip on locally grown sparkling wine – you’ll find it’s not just fresh, local food that Cornwall is renowned for, the drinks options are just as diverse and exciting.

There are several breweries and vineyards that are open for tours and tasting all around the North Coast. Sharp’s Brewery is just up the road in Rock and runs tours regularly, just check their website. Cornish Wine Tours is also a brilliantly indulgent treat. Rock has a great selection of stores (as well as very good coffee!). There’s a Butcher, 2 Delis and a Fishmonger all supplying fresh Cornish produce to enjoy.

The ferry point to Padstow is a few minutes walk away, where you jump on and be in Padstow to explore for the day.

Polzeath beach is well known for its surfing so why not learn to surf and book a lesson with one of the surfing schools on the beach or you can simply hire the equipment. If you love the North coast and being close to the sea, then this is the perfect location. The property manager Dominic is an excellent communicator and addressed any issues very quickly. Our friends stayed in the similar property next door but one and it was great being so close. Only said this once before after many self catering holidays, but we would definitely stay here again."
