The manager couldn’t have been more helpful, checking us in early, finding a place to dry our kit, reserving a table for meals etc. The pub is small, simple and cosy with great home made food. The evening was fantastic as the locals were all in singing traditional songs as this was the night before the Padstow Hobby Horse day (May 1st). Tiny downside was the walls are very thin and any noise in an adjacent room or in the bar below is hard to ignore. Overall, a great little pub with outstanding staff. "

Rocksalt is our lovely 4-bedroomed holiday home just outside Rock on the North Cornwall coast. Built and furnished to a high standard in 2008, the house is situated in a glorious setting with far-reaching views over the Cornish countryside, yet is only a few minutes drive from Rock which offers water skiing, sailing and paddle boarding, the surfing beach of Polzeath and child-friendly Daymer Bay.

The accommodation is light and airy and comprises 4 large bedrooms with 2 en-suites and 1 family bathroom; an open-plan airy kitchen/lounge/dining area which is extremely well-equipped with large comfy sofas, a flat-screen HD TV and all mod cons. There is a south-facing garden which is fully secure, with a weber charcoal bbq and an outside hot and cold surfers' shower. The patio offers a great place to drink your morning coffee from our Nespresso machine! There is also direct access from the garden into a large field where children can play.

We have superfast unlimited broadband. You can watch BBC iplayer, YouTube etc on the TV and Netflix if you have an account.

Not only is the house well-served for numerous beautiful beaches but nearby there are four excellent golf courses as well as an enormous range of other activities including surfing, water-skiing, coasteering, kayaking, cycling, sailing and tennis. Days out include the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac (location for the TV series Doc Martin); Padstow with its shopping and superb restaurants including Rick Stein's famous 'Seafood Restaurant' (the water ferry runs constantly from Rock to Padstow during the day); the scenic Camel cycle trail from Bodmin to Padstow via Wadebridge (ideal for all ages and easy to organise cycle hire) and slightly further afield, the world renowned Eden Project. Towels are provided, beds are made-up for your arrival, there is lots of hanging space and tea, coffee and milk are waiting for you when you arrive to welcome you. Rock beach, Golf Club beach and Daymer Bay can all be reached by foot;Padstow is a 10 minute ferry ride from Rock beach. There is excellent sailing and waterskiing with good facilities at the Waterski club and Rock Sailing school. Polzeath beach is a 5 minute drive and offers amazing surfing for all ages. There are some great surfing schools. The beaches in the area are stunning.

The position is good for the shops in Rock and only a short walk to Porthilly beach and Rock beach beyond where you can get the ferry to Padstow. The immediate surrounding area is nice and quiet. My one thing to improve it is having the towels and linen provided as part of the rental. We took our own as local rental was a bit steep so it meant an extra bag in the car and more washing when we got home. Otherwise a great place to stay :)"

The open plan kitchen and breakfast room leads out onto the garden via bi folding doors, perfect for a BBQ on the patio with an outdoor table that sits 12. There is also an office with BT phone, printer and internet, suitable for a space to get some work done if required. The Linhay is one of our three barns nestling around a courtyard situated on our family run farm. You will enjoy uninterrupted Cornish countryside views and our cows are often grazing in the fields next door to your 2 acre garden area with outside play area.

The Linhay has 2 bedrooms both with black out curtains to ensure you are able to have a good nights sleep, accommodating up to 4 people. The ground floor bedroom can either have a zipped and linked bed which makes a super king, or twin beds, with a shower en-suite. Ideal location to explore Cornwall" - "This is a lovely property for a relaxing break away from the hubbub of nearby towns, with countryside views, in easy driving distance to Wadebridge and Padstow. The field is great for kids to play in, and the Saints Way passes right by, so a long walk to Padstow is very doable, about 4 very pretty miles. The property is on a farm and there are sometimes cows in the next field, and the neighbouring chickens potter about, as well as choughs, crows, and even grouse. At night we could hear owls hooting, and the stars were beautifully clear to see. Alison was a lovely host, and we appreciated the cake when we arrived."

In the town itself there is a wonderful pub; The Mariners, which is owned by Paul Ainsworth and is just one of 5 of his establishments in the local area - 4 of which are only across the water in Padstow and each has its own distinct style of dining.

Also just a quick ferry ride away is the ever popular Seafood Restaurant by Rick Stein and great local spot Prawn on the Lawn in Padstow. While up the road in Port Isaac there are two restaurants owned by Nathan Outlaw and the Port Gaverne Hotel which is a destination hotel with an excellent reputation.

With your choice of two stunning decks to use, or the large bi-fold doors, you can watch the sun go down on wonderful countryside views come rain or shine.

You could spend your holiday practicing your backhand in the shared tennis court that is only a few meters away (appropriate shoes needed of course)

Perhaps a tour of the local brewery is exactly how you’d like to while away an afternoon or maybe you’d prefer to sip on locally grown sparkling wine – you’ll find it’s not just fresh, local food that Cornwall is renowned for, the drinks options are just as diverse and exciting.

There are several breweries and vineyards that are open for tours and tasting all around the North Coast. Rock has a great selection of stores (as well as very good coffee!). There’s a Butcher, 2 Delis and a Fishmonger all supplying fresh Cornish produce to enjoy.

The ferry point to Padstow is a few minutes walk away, where you jump on and be in Padstow to explore for the day.

Oak Tree House is located on the edge of The Point at Polzeath Golf Course where you can buy weekly membership to access facilities - indoor gym, tennis courts paddle tennis fitness classes and 18 hole course. The House has a large garden with direct access to a stream over a safety style. CCTV covers the outside of the property which is switched off whilst rented out. The garden includes a football goal, basket ball hoop, large patio with bbq and 10 person seating. The House is 20 mins walk across the golf course directly to Polzeath Beach, surf schools, cafes, restaurants and shops.

- "A very comfortable house with enough space for us all to enjoy our holiday (10 guests ranging from 2-72). It’s unusual to find a holiday house with genuinely comfortable seating in the sitting room and a proper dining table so everyone can eat together but Oaktree House has both of these. The rooms are all a good size and well set out. The garden is large and whilst not secure for dogs and errant toddlers it’s easy enough to keep an eye on them! It’s got great access to Polzeath and Daymer as well as Rock. Our week was wet but there are plenty of games including table tennis and board games to keep entertained. We were well hosted and would definitely recommend!"

GROUND FLOOR:

This traditional Cornish stone cottage has a generous open plan layout, which creates the ideal space for socialising and an opportunity for everyone to come together, yet there is enough space to be apart.
The lounge and dining room share a cosy double fronted wood burning stove and stunning feature stone fireplace.
There is a dining table to seat 8, and the country kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need for dining at home. Includes a rangemaster oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee machine (takes e.s.e. pods) and American style fridge freezer with ice machine.
There is also a downstairs cloakroom.

FIRST FLOOR:

On this floor there is the master bedroom with superking bed. It has a stunning en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and luxurious freestanding slipper bath.
Opposite the master is another bedroom with two single beds, and an en-suite shower room.

SECOND FLOOR:

As you climb the second set of stairs, you arrive at a viewing area with full height vaulted window. From here you can enjoy views of the surrounding countryside and glorious Cornish sunsets.
On one side of the landing, there is a bedroom with a kingsize bed, exposed beams and full height ceiling. It has an en-suite shower room. To the opposite side of the landing there is a bedroom with two single beds. This room also has exposed beams, full height ceilings and a stunning window sill made form local Delabole slate. This room also has an en-suite shower room.

OUTSIDE:

The large private driveway can accomodate 3 cars.
The enclosed garden has a private South facing patio, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing on the sun loungers. The lawn gently falls away to the fields beyond and is the perfect spot in the warm Cornish evenings. There is also a BBQ, fire-pit, outdoor furntiture with cushions and umbrella.
There is an outdoor tap to wash off your wetsuits, and an outbuilding with washing machine, tumble dryer and room to securely store bikes, golf clubs or surf boards away.
And when the sun finally goes down, it's the perfect place for stargazing - the night sky has thousands more visible stars.

THE LOCATION:

Little Petherick is a small village located in a green valley between Padstow and Wadebridge. With its historic 14th century church and old granite cottages, this is a distinctly Cornish village and a great base for a holiday in North Cornwall. The Saints Way walking path passes through, and follows Little Petherick Creek into Padstow. The Old Mill Bistro serves delicious food and is just a short walk away.

The town of Padstow is an immensely popular harbour town and is a firm favourite with visitors, with much to offer. Padstow is an historic fishing port with a maze of picturesque narrow streets of stone, colour-washed and slate cottages and a pretty working harbour. Its a great place for people watching, grabbing a proper pasty, or you can try your luck with a spot of crabbing from the quayside.

There are many activities to enjoy in this area, such as regular boat trips, scenic walks along beautiful coastal paths, crazy golf or even a spot of fishing. You can also take the foot ferry to Rock and enjoy a walk along Daymer Bay, or climb to the top of Brea Hill to take in the stunning views.

If you prefer you can also just chill out, look around the shops and art galleries, or treat your taste buds in the fantastic range of eateries. In recent years, Padstow has gained a reputation as a foodie’s heaven, with many excellent restaurants, cafes and pubs. The rise of celebrity chefs such as Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth has helped this along.

The "7 bays for 7 days" area is perfect for a "bucket and spade" family friendly holiday. The Seven Bays are Porthcothan Bay (nearest to Newquay), Treyarnon, Constantine Bay, Booby's Bay, Mother Ivey's Bay, Harlyn and then Trevone Bay (which is nearest to Padstow). Don't miss Harlyn Surf School who offer paddleboarding, coasteering, kayaking as well as surfing and equipment hire.

Besides the glorious bays, there are many rural and coastal walks, along the beaches and through the fields. The Coastal Path winds its way along the cliff tops and through the countryside. As well as the stunning views, there are many other treats including Trevose Head peninsula with its championship golf course and lighthouse.

The Camel Trail is a traffic free route following the old railway track between Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin, and is much loved by walkers and cyclists (bikes may be hired at Padstow or Wadebridge). The terrain is mostly level and offers a variety of paths of varying distance, meaning that whatever your age, or ability, everyone will enjoy the ride, The path winds its way alongside the riverbank through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its abundant wildlife.

There is a great farm shop nearby along with a pub and a couple of restaurants. We also went to the beach at Polzeath which has lots of lovely eating places. Designed in the style of a Swedish summer house / lake house, this welcoming timber chalet is located in Rock on Cornwall's Atlantic Coast, part of a small site of 12 in a peaceful wooded valley with views towards the Camel Estuary and Padstow.

This is a great location for lovers of beaches and water, fresh seafood, nature and wildlife, country pubs and Cornish pasties, exploring Cornwall with its rich history or simply enjoying a family barbeque on the deck in the sun.

This delightful large holiday house has been in the same family since it was built in 1938. It sleeps 13 (plus 2 cots for babies) in 6 bedrooms and has spacious rooms for dining and sitting plus a playroom with table tennis. There is plenty of outdoor sitting space and the large garden leads straight on to the coast path with easy access to Daymer Bay, Rock, Polzeath, and St Enodoc with superb views out to sea and across to Padstow.

The children loved the huge garden and also the large games room with table tennis, table football and board games. The dining table is huge and easily seated 12. Rachel the owner has been a pleasure to deal with, nothing is too much trouble and she even accommodated our well behaved dogs. This house is in the most stunning location with ample space for large families/groups, we loved the character and feel of the property and we are all in agreement that we would love to return. Anneth Lowen is a large four-bedroom detached house, just a short stroll from the bustling beaches of Polzeath. With its quaint and in-keeping exterior, there's a lot to take in as the inside and outside blend seamlessly.

The open-plan living area and kitchen welcomes in the stunning countryside views, offering a beautiful glass balcony and coupled with the bold colours of the kitchen, you will already feel like you are at the beach! With plenty of space to make you feel at home and all the necessities to make your stay as carefree as possible. The living area consists of comfortable seating with a Smart television. The fully fitted contemporary kitchen offers an induction hob, a large American fridge/freezer, an integrated wine cooler, and beautiful scenery whilst you prepare meals. The dining area seats eight guests over a large dining table and breakfast bar, even with board games to keep the little ones occupied.

Anneth Lowen has been thoughtfully designed with a very pleasing interior and coastal ambience with high-quality bedrooms; housing two king-size beds with en-suite shower rooms, two twin beds plus a day bed with trundle, meaning there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy a relaxing nights rest after a busy day down the beach. The family bathroom offers a gorgeous free-standing bathtub.

With your own secluded garden surrounded by nothing but the view and sounds of the countryside, it is the perfect way to unwind after a long day wandering around the stunning coastline of Polzeath. Anneth Lowen also comes equipped with an outside shower for those sandy feet straight from the beach.

Head out for the day to either the nearby championship golf course, delectable restaurants by the coast, golden sandy beaches or quaint fishing villages nearby. This holiday home is truly in an ideal location for people who want to see what this wonderful coastline has to offer.

- "The property doesn't look like much from the front/outside, but really suited our stay. The folding doors which open on to the deck area give the living area a real European feel. The main drawback is the price and the lack of parking. There is one dedicated parking space - in the garage which fits a Fiat 500 but not much more. We were lucky as we were able to use a parking space belonging to a nearby house for both weeks. The house is very well situated for the beach, literally 5 minutes walk."

The house is spacious and warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Even though the photos were spectacular, they still don’t do this beautiful home justice. It’s very rare that a place ticks all of the boxes, but this certainly does. Just a 10 minute walk along the clifftop to the beach, and ideally located to explore more of the stunning coastline. We started looking to book our next stay the minute we returned. Everything felt brand new, from the bbq, to the crockery and cutlery (it was so well stocked, everything you will ever need) to the dartboard, pool table and table tennis table. You’ll be charmed by this adorable place to stay.
Very well positioned in Cornish farming hamlet walking distance to vinyard and only 8 miles from most beaches. Also located 5 mins from Camel Creek adventure park. Delights of Padstow fishing port are 10 mins drive away and also close to Wadebridge which is a brilliant little town with nearly all amenities required.
Small dogs are welcome as it is a lovely area for walking.

The Garden Room is a very comfortable and cosy room with private entrance. It is an open plan room with a shower and separate toilet. The room opens up on to a deck that has a rattan day bed to relax in whilst enjoying the nature that surrounds us.
Feel free to make use of the BBQ for alfresco eating.
Location-wise, it is level walking distance to town, where you’ll find a great wine shop, coffee shops, the gin shack, saltbox street food and all essential grocery shops. The camel trail is a few minutes walk. The rugged north Cornwall coastline and magnificent beaches is simply a short drive away. Alternatively we are near woodlands which are great to take a rejuvenating stroll.

From your allocated parking space, access to The Garden Room is via a shared gravel path which leads to a decked area. French doors gives entry to your room. You’ll have access to a spacious decked area, part of which is covered in case of rain. Your own BBQ (not gas) and a comfy daybed to watch the day go by.

There is ample space for you to enjoy our backdrop of Coronation Park and to enjoy the magical bird life that we share this magical secluded part of Wadebridge with.

Tredower Farmhouse is close to Wadebridge, Rock and Polzeath. Our great location is a good base to explore all of Cornwalls hidden treasures. We offer beautiful en-suite bedrooms that look out onto our dairy farm giving fantastic views towards the Camel Estuary. A home cooked hearty breakfast will set you up for the day. We are close to beautiful beaches and North Cornwall's rugged coastline. Tredower is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).

The Apple at the Orchard is a unique, self contained timber framed building on the outskirts of Wadebridge, Cornwall.

The Apple sits in the gardens of Jon and Lucy’s house, The Orchard. It has one bedroom, an open plan living room / kitchen with a double sofa bed for 2 additional guests, if needed. Cot available on request.

A private outdoor space with access to our shared woodland, gardens and play equipment. 20mins from the famous beaches of North Cornwall; Polzeath, Rock and Padstow.

The space
The Apple has a large open-plan living / kitchen space with large windows along the entire length of one wall. At the far end of the living space are floor to ceiling windows and large french windows.

The bedroom has a standard size double bed and a large window, which is also the fire escape. The bedroom has a large mural and a feature wood wall.

The bathroom has a large electric shower as well as toilet, sink and heated towel rail.

Outside you have a private patio area with wildflower garden. You are also welcome to wander around our 1 acre of garden and woodland featuring swings, slides and a seesaw. At the bottom of the gardens is a small stream.
