The manager couldn’t have been more helpful, checking us in early, finding a place to dry our kit, reserving a table for meals etc. The pub is small, simple and cosy with great home made food. The evening was fantastic as the locals were all in singing traditional songs as this was the night before the Padstow Hobby Horse day (May 1st). Tiny downside was the walls are very thin and any noise in an adjacent room or in the bar below is hard to ignore. Overall, a great little pub with outstanding staff. "

Rocksalt is our lovely 4-bedroomed holiday home just outside Rock on the North Cornwall coast. Built and furnished to a high standard in 2008, the house is situated in a glorious setting with far-reaching views over the Cornish countryside, yet is only a few minutes drive from Rock which offers water skiing, sailing and paddle boarding, the surfing beach of Polzeath and child-friendly Daymer Bay.

The accommodation is light and airy and comprises 4 large bedrooms with 2 en-suites and 1 family bathroom; an open-plan airy kitchen/lounge/dining area which is extremely well-equipped with large comfy sofas, a flat-screen HD TV and all mod cons. There is a south-facing garden which is fully secure, with a weber charcoal bbq and an outside hot and cold surfers' shower. The patio offers a great place to drink your morning coffee from our Nespresso machine! There is also direct access from the garden into a large field where children can play.

We have superfast unlimited broadband. You can watch BBC iplayer, YouTube etc on the TV and Netflix if you have an account.

Not only is the house well-served for numerous beautiful beaches but nearby there are four excellent golf courses as well as an enormous range of other activities including surfing, water-skiing, coasteering, kayaking, cycling, sailing and tennis. Days out include the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac (location for the TV series Doc Martin); Padstow with its shopping and superb restaurants including Rick Stein's famous 'Seafood Restaurant' (the water ferry runs constantly from Rock to Padstow during the day); the scenic Camel cycle trail from Bodmin to Padstow via Wadebridge (ideal for all ages and easy to organise cycle hire) and slightly further afield, the world renowned Eden Project. Towels are provided, beds are made-up for your arrival, there is lots of hanging space and tea, coffee and milk are waiting for you when you arrive to welcome you. Coast/Beach and Golf: Seamist is walking distance to the beach. There are many stunning beaches in Rock and the surrounding area. Rock beach, Golf Club beach and Daymer Bay can all be reached by foot;Padstow is a 10 minute ferry ride from Rock beach. There is excellent sailing and waterskiing with good facilities at the Waterski club and Rock Sailing school. Polzeath beach is a 5 minute drive and offers amazing surfing for all ages. There are some great surfing schools. The beaches in the area are stunning.
