Guest Reviews:

- "Wow, where do I begin? Sancreed house is truly beautiful. Grove & Pablo have put so much in to making the space wonderful - even down to the scent! Everything has been so well thought through. The room itself was stunning. Somewhere you could completely unwind. Everything you could need was provided - plenty of space for belongings, a small fridge, tea and coffee, a hairdryer and even some slippers which were a lovely touch. Looking out on to the gardens whilst having breakfast each morning was a great way to start our day. Breakfast was freshly made each morning. Mushrooms on toast and fresh fruit with homemade yoghurt was my favourite! We also couldn’t forget the freshly baked blueberry and lemon cake made by Pablo which we enjoyed on arrival - wow! We used the pool during our stay and really enjoyed having access to this space. Thank you both so much for a wonderful little stay before baby comes. We hope to return again next time we need a luxury retreat! Chloe & Mike."

Exceptionally good breakfast. Pleasant welcome. Convenient for Minack Theatre and other local attractions. One thing to be aware is that bedroom 1 is not en suite, although the separate bathroom is super." - "Superb breakfast, with a huge array of many different types of fresh fruits (as well as cooked options if wanted) and delicious home made jams and excellent coffee. This was the best breakfast I have ever had in the UK. Everything was also spotlessly clean, and it was very quiet with lovely views from the room. An easy ten minute walk to St Just along a footpath The only negative point in an otherwise superb guest house was that it was incredibly hot in the bedroom with an extremely thick, heavy duvet which I had to chuck in the cupboard. The mattress was also very thick and hot. This wasn't even in the very hot weather (outside air temp was 18 °C) There were no instructions for how to operate a ceiling fan."

- "During my stage in Cornwall, where I stayed in the absolutly stunning house at Vessacks, I had an accident and the help of Kathrine and her service team was just incredible! Thank you so much, dear Katherine and Shay for all your support! Vessacks was the best place to be in a difficult situation! Love Barbara" - "Loved our stay at Vessacks. Katherine, the host, was brilliant at quickly replying to my many, many queries and (as someone who has lots of allergies) it was great to find a truly dog-free house. The house is beautifully situated, with nature so close by - we saw a charm of 26 goldfinch in the hedges one day and a badger on several evenings. Even though a few days were stormy the house was lovely and warm, clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a perfect holiday. We would love to return some day."

Light filled home from home with spectacular panoramic sea views of Mount's Bay
House
Mousehole, England, United Kingdom

Trevilley is a light and airy family house enjoying spectacular panoramic sea views over Mount's Bay and St Michael's Mount. Situated in the picturesque village of Mousehole, the house is a two minute stroll from the harbour with its two sandy beaches, shallow waters and fishing and sailing boats.

Trevilley, which sleeps 6 people (or 8 from May to October with 2 extra guests in the summer house), is ideal as a romantic getaway, for walkers (the Cornish South West Coast path goes straight past the front door), surfers, those who just want to wind down (it's impossible not to relax here) and it's perfect for families - the house is fully equipped will all the bits needed for young children (travel cot, toddler pillows, duvets and bedding (infant sleeping bags are not provided), 2 travel high chairs, kids’ cutlery and crockery, stick blender, large washer/dryer etc). Even on a dull day, the house is filled with light due to its extraordinary east facing position, combined with large windows that make the most of the views.

In the winter months, it's the perfect place to put on your walking boots and discover Cornish land and seascapes (the walk from the house along the coast to Lamorna is stunning), soothe those aching limbs in the Jacuzzi bath and then get cosy with a glass of something next to the roaring open fire. The view remains beautiful whatever the weather and you can feel yourself unwind just watching the sea roll in.

Christmas and New Year is a particularly special time of year. The wonderful annual switching on of the Mousehole lights really gets you into the festive spirit with mulled wine, a local brass band playing Christmas carols alongside the Mousehole male voice choir. Tom Bawcock night on 23 December is also special - the Ship Inn serves up the legendary starry-gazy pie to all visitors and children release lanterns into the harbour.

From May to October a charming summer house, sleeping an extra 2 people, is also available at £495 per week in addition to the rental of the main house (please request the summer house at the time of booking).

Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome at Trevilley. There is an additional charge of £25 per dog per stay for this. We kindly ask that dogs remain downstairs - they are not permitted on the beds.

The details...

A large entrance porch provides ample space to store beach bags, wellies and coats. This leads to a spacious well equipped kitchen crafted by a local artisan from reclaimed wood. It leads into a utility room with a large washer/dryer, indoor and outdoor clothes horse and iron.

From here another, door leads into the wet room (an ideal place to have a shower after a day on the beach or to hang your wetsuit) and a downstairs toilet.

The kitchen also leads directly into the dining room, a light filled space with beautiful local art work and stunning sea views. It comfortably seats eight in colourful chairs set around an old sea captain's wooden table. If you are lucky enough to be seated at the head of the table, you will have direct views onto St Clement’s Island.

In front of the dining room and the adjacent sitting room lies a spectacular and spacious sea viewing room with extraordinary panoramic views of the Lizard, St. Michael's Mount, the village, the harbour and St.Clement's Island. This is the ideal place to relax with a coffee, a good book or simply be mesmerised by the ever changing colours of the sea and sky.

A south facing door leads onto a covered decking area with a big glass table and chairs, a perfect place to have breakfast on a sunny morning and perhaps spot some seals, basking-sharks or dolphins. In recent months, we have also seen humpback whales breaching in the bay.

Through another set of double doors from the conservatory you enter the cosy sitting room with its big open fire place, comfy leather sofa and chairs and its quirky furniture made from our decommissioned wooden fishing boat.

An open staircase leads from here to the first floor. The sea-facing master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with two basins and a whirlpool bath and a toilet. The comfortable kingsize double bed promises a restful night with its crisp linen and luxurious bedding. There are two bedside tables with drawers and a small wardrobe. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the bay and the sound of the waves lapping the shore. Bliss!

The other sea-facing room has shaker style twin beds, a large basin, one bedside table with drawers and a chest of drawers. From these rooms the view of the sunrise over the Lizard and the sound of the sea breaking over St. Clements Island remind you on waking that you are in beautiful Cornwall.

The third bedroom houses adult-size bunk beds a bedside table with drawers and storage under the bunks. A travel cot is available to use along with sheets (infant pillows/duvets/sleeping bags are not provided). All bedrooms have adequate space for a travel cot. The master bedroom can accommodate two travel cots (if, like us, you are lucky enough to have twins!).

Between the twin and bunk room there is another bathroom with a bath and stand up shower and toilet.

The Summer House
Also enjoying splendid views, the summer house is ideal for teenagers or maybe grandparents who like to enjoy a little independence.

It consists of a large living space, sofa, table and chairs, a kitchenette made out of reclaimed wood from fishing vessels, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. A separate bedroom contains a shaker double bed and small wardrobe with an en suite shower room, toilet and basin. The summer house is an additional £495 per week in addition to the rental of the main house (please request the summer house on booking).

Garden
Trevilley is surrounded by a large garden consisting of several sheltered sitting areas, all enjoying sublime views. There are many colourful shrubs and bushes with something in bloom throughout the year. Please also help yourself to the fresh herb garden and use the compost bin for vegetable food waste.

There is a built-in granite BBQ, a shed where beach items can be stored and for the literary inclined lines of poetry carved into the slate paving stones.

Parking
Mousehole is built around its beautiful harbour and has narrow windy streets. There is no off street parking at the house. Free parking is possible on Raginnis Hill but it does get busy during peak season and it may not always be possible to find a spot during the school holidays. Alternatively, there is Mousehole harbour parking on the south and the north quays for £5 per day or at the Old Coastguard hotel for £11 per day (pay via Just Park parking app).

The open plan living, dining and kitchen area completes the property. This vast area has a vaulted oak ceiling, huge sliding doors that access the terraces and french doors to the sun deck. There is a large oak dining table comfortably seating 6, sofas and chairs to relax in after a busy day and plenty of space for everyone.
The well equipped kitchen has everything you need, whether it's a full Sunday lunch or just breakfast.....you are on holiday after all. Large fridge/freezer, hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher and washer and dryer (located in the basement) complete the essentials.
Moving outside there is a dining table on the lower terrace, chairs on the upper terrace all enjoying the spectacular views. The lawns wrap around the front of the property and the basement area is accessed here too....there is a BBQ, surf boards, fishing nets, wind break etc.
At the rear of the property there is a deck with sofas and chairs to catch the afternoon sun.

Our property is ideally placed above the fishing port of Newlyn, between Penzance and Mousehole. The pebble beach is around a 10 minute walk away with sandy beaches at Marazion (overlooking St.Michael's Mount) a 10 minute drive. Land's End, Sennen Cove, Porthcurno and the Minnack outdoor theatre are all easily accessible as is St.Ives. The bungalow itself is set down a footpath which leads from the parking space and garage.

The property is close to all that Newlyn has offer, including the famous Mackerel Sky seafood tapas bar and The Tolcarne Inn gastro pub. The area also boasts an independent arthouse cinema, art gallery, Jelbert's homemade ice cream, pasty shop, cheese shop and art school.

The idyllic village of Mousehole is just 2 miles away and is a lovely place to go for lunch and a wander along the harbour. The Old Coastguard pub serves delicious local food and a superb Sunday Lunch that's not to miss. The Rock Pool cafe is a must on sunny days, with its tucked-away sea-front location and extensive food and cocktail list.

The bustling town of Penzance is just a mile away, and it's just a short walk to the newly renovated promenade and famous Art Deco outdoor saltwater swimming pool. The town has an array of independent shops, and you can pick up a ferry from the harbour for a day's wildlife trip (you even may see seals and dolphins!). At low tide you can venture across the causeway to St Michaels Mount and spend the day exploring the isolated island with its historic castle and gardens. There are also ferries at high tide.

This part of Cornwall is home to a stunning selection of beaches and coastal walks; Cape Cornwall and the wonderful Minack Theatre are just 8 miles, whilst Lands End is also within close reach. We would highly recommend picking up the walk from Lands End to Nanjizal Cove - where you can enjoy peaceful dip in the sea and amazing cream teas.

The property is also well setup for those on a working holiday or business trip. It features high speed internet. The kitchen table also makes a bright and airy spot to work.

Given the remote nature of Cornwall, a car is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here. That said, the property is located within walking distance of Penzance which has very good transport links. Trains run from London Paddington on a regular basis throughout the year. And there is lots to do within walking distance from the property.

Property is situated in the heart of Newlyn which is within reach of many beautiful places to visit." - "Well worth it would use again" - "This place was fab with stunning view access to lots of places. We had a wheelchair for our son so the 2 steps then a hill then 2 steps to the property were a challenge but worth it. The wheelchair accessible van fitted outside the enblock garage with just enough room to not over step someone drive The wheelchair fitted great in the porch which is enclosed All the bedrooms were of a good size the frontroom kitchen dinning area is open floor planed and lovely. I was miffed at no washing machine then my husband found the keys to the basement which the door for is out in back garden and tucked away which has washing machine tumble dryer in so was happy. This is a stunning property and if we didn't have the wheelchair would certainly stay again. Thx u Richard"

Seal Point: dreamy sea views, gated garden, access to sea, 2-9
Villa
Mousehole, England, United Kingdom

Standing proud on our romantic Poldark coastline, Seal Point Villa is a spacious seaside house on the edge of the historic village of Mousehole. As a home from home, it 'gives kindly' to all its guests, whether just a couple on a getaway or a multi-generational group of up to 9.

Come and create those magical Cornish memories, that so many of us cherish from childhood: Easter with the spring-time flowers and beach surprises, Summer on the sands and in the water or an old-fashioned village Christmas with the famous Mousehole Christmas Lights.

Seal Point Villa in a nutshell:
* full sea views from nearly every room (five bedrooms)
* spacious interior
* very good beds and linen including 1 S-King and 2 Kings
* safe gated garden, toys, books
* 4 mins walk from 2 sandy, sheltered historic harbour beaches
* Mousehole's famous rockpool at the end of the gated garden
* seals and wildlife to watch from the garden
* 10-15 mins drive from a dozens of other sandy beaches
* golf, snorkelling, surfing, coasting, paddle-boarding, diving, sailing, fishing, theatre, coastal walks all nearby
* well equipped open-plan kitchen, pantry space, utility room
* outside hot shower
* BT infinity WIFI
* parking for 2 cars (more if you ‘shuffle’)
* NB prices are quoted for up to 6 with additional charge for additional guests to keep things fair and enable smaller groups to enjoy the house. If you are just two of you, please ask as we may be able to offer a slightly reduced rate at some points of the year.

Flexibility
We have regular couples or foursomes who come every year to enjoy the space and views. Then there are larger family groups who come to enjoy special inter-generational family memory-making time together. The house lends itself well to many sizes and configurations. Please ask about special rates for parties of four or less.

Space to Relax:
So whether you’re a family of 4 or 6 looking or a larger family group up to nine or ten, Seal Point is a seaside home from home. Large rooms and hallways and plenty of bathrooms mean everyone can enjoy being together but also have their own space to relax.

Different Needs and ‘Must Haves’:
With sea views from most rooms and the lounge, dining room and kitchen, with large comfortable beds, four bathrooms (plus a downstairs wc and warm outside shower), parking, wifi, a safe garden, toys and books on hand…we hope the different members of any party will find their needs met. We are fussy ourselves when we go away, so know how important the different elements can be. If you’re the one booking, meeting all the needs can be a tough job - please do not hesitate to ask any specific questions to make sure it’s a fit.

Logistics:
Seal Point was a much loved family home until we had to move away and let it some years ago. Many bookings happen now by word of mouth but we also advertise here. A professional changeover team manages the house and a relative lives nearby to welcome and help with queries.

Relaxation or Activity:
So...what's it like to live here? Sip a good coffee and savour a cream tea on the terrace while the children play on the climbing fort in the large gated garden. Watch sea birds, seals, old luggers and sometimes dolphins from the living room.

It's a 3-5 minute walk to the fine restaurants, cafes and galleries of 500 year old Mousehole and the sandy beaches of the small harbour which is perfect for swimming with children. Older children and teens love the water fun in the harbour and can play there in relative independence.

Being so close to the clean sandy harbour beaches, it's perfect for bright young sparks to go to the beach while others enjoy a lazy breakfast on the terrace or indeed for tired little ones to come home for naps or to refuel, while older siblings play for hours in the safe waters. Mousehole harbour is one of the few places where you can mess about in inflatables in relative safety (always supervise, of course).

Golf courses with sea views are 15-20 minutes' drive away at St Just and Praa Sands.

By car or bus, you can discover the Minack Theatre, many other beaches including Sennen, Praa Sands, Porthcurno, Chapelporth, Peranuthnoe, St Ives, St Michael's Mount etc all 3-10 miles away. On foot we have the famous cliff paths, all the way to Land's End and beyond.

'This is a house like no other. The garden is so relaxing with children and inside there are plenty of toys and books. And oh, waking up to those views!' Sam and Jim

Shops, transport, distances: Mousehole is 3 miles from Penzance and 1.5 miles from the fishing village of Penzance. You can walk (or scooter!) to Newlyn along the coastal path in 30 minutes and Penzance in an hour. Bikes can be hired in Pz.

Mousehole has 4 restaurants, 3 cafes, 2 ice cream shops, the pub The Ship, a much-loved Deli (which also servces very tasty takeaway fish and chips and other dinners) a Vegan restaurant, a grocery shop with fresh bread, numerous galleries and all the charm of the storybooks.

In Newlyn you'll find a small supermarket, fresh fish shops - minutes from the trawlers (including the largest privately owned fleet in UK), 2 bakers, a butchers, cafes, home-made ice-cream etc. The harbour also provides the most suitable moorings for yachts, from £12+ a night depending on length.

In Penzance, 10 minutes by car from Mousehole you've all the shops, cinema etc you'd expect in a town of 20,000.

- "As a way to celebrate my husband’s 75th birthday and our 40th anniversary we decided to bring our family to Cornwall and introduce our grandsons (7, 3 & 2) to my husband’s sister, brother and extended family. In addition they were treated to stories from grandad about growing up in Cornwall. The home was beyond our expectations. The first thing you notice is the amazing view. Our 3 grandsons were obsessed with the trampoline and rock pool. We took advantage of the sea walk in to Mousehole almost daily and celebrated our son and daughter-in-law’s 4 yr anniversary at the Mousehole deli/ restaurant. We loved being able to walk in to Newlyn to Jelberts for ice cream. The bus stop right out front was utilized on more than one occasion. The house was welcoming, we were greeted with a lovely basket filled with local treasures (the Ginger cookies were a big hit) and fresh flowers that became more beautiful every day. There was much more room than we anticipated. Plenty of space for multi generations. We had everything we needed to prepare meals. And again, the view! The toy cupboard kept our grandsons busy when we weren’t on adventures. As we were coming from the US, Esme was kind enough to supply beach towels for our trips to Porthcurno and Marizion. The many bathrooms and bedrooms were perfect for our group. The linens were wonderfully comfortable. If you are looking for a place with the comforts of home and a holiday feel, Seal Point can’t be beat. We had the best time…"

The view of the sea from most rooms and the large raised garden decking really make the most of the beach location , and it’s only a 2 minute walk from the garden down to the long sandy beach . We were 3 generations staying in the house , and the layout meant it worked very well for everyone’s needs. It’s a well designed , light filled home . The quality and design of the fixtures and furniture , plus the interesting artwork and many books mean it felt very welcoming. We would love to stay again . Guest Reviews:

- "It was our first trip to Cornwall and surly not the last! The landscape is wonderful and the people are very friendly. We had a very nice stay at Port View. The house is spacious and has enough room for a family with 3 children. Attention if you have young children, the garden wall is very small. Everything was very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Jill is very nice and helpful. There are lots of seagulls due to the proximity to the harbor. Who also like to sit on the terrace sometimes. The neighbor fed the seagulls sometimes. Newlyn is not a typical vacation resort but still very original. With the bus you are quickly in Penzance or Mousehole or Marazion (St. Michaels Mount) Some beautiful beaches, eg Sennen Cove, Porthcurno, Carbis Bay or the Minack Theater are less than 20 minutes away by car. All in all we had a great vacation with many impressions."

'ZenStudio'. Privacy in a great setting.
House
Cornwall

Totally unique stay in own, self-contained cosy studio with personal, secluded 'Zen Garden'!
Easy parking & an ideal base to discover West Cornwall.
Town, beach, village pub & woods all a short walk from your front door. A quiet rural location with Penzance near & easy reach to all the spots!

The space
We describe 'ZenStudio' as small but perfectly formed...

Stylish and unique, our aim is to offer you a space where you can relax and feel at peace.

Set in a quiet rural village location you can hear the birdsong clearly (even the local village peacocks, who regularly make an appearance in the front garden of our house!).

There is ample and safe parking on street and you are free to bring bikes or surfboards into the space to the rear of the property which is locked and gated. The South coast towns of Marazion, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole are all within easy access.

This is a small but cosy studio with its own private patio garden - however, it is important to note that it is at the end of our garden and so you will be staying within a family home set up. You will be totally independent and not disturbed but we do respectfully request that if you are outside in your zen garden after 9pm that noise is kept to a minimum. We also ask that smoking does not happen on our property. It is a quiet retreat like space - perfect for the traveller/s that need a comfy, cosy space to relax after a day of sightseeing and exploring.

You will be ideally situated to go off and explore - bus and train stations within 10 minute walk. Tesco superstore a 5 minute walk and the shops, cafes and restaurants of Penzance are all just a short 10 minute walk away from your front door! The North Coast spots such as St. Ives, Zennor and St. Just are approx. 15 minutes drive away. (StIves bus stop 1 minute away) Why not book tickets to the 'Minack Theatre' at Porthcurno during your stay? How about going a little further afield and experiencing the 'Eden Project'? All the delights of West Cornwall are on your doorstep! We will leave you to your holiday time but are on hand if you need any guidance or tips - really happy to help.

'ZenStudio' has everything you need for a cosy, tranquil stay. Luxury bunks with proper, sprung mattresses. Enclosed toilet space with sink for hot and cold running water. Microwave, fridge/mini freezer, crockery/cutlery and kettle all provided. Teas and coffees/ complimentary biscuits and milk will be provided to refresh you after journeying here. Please note that the small kitchenette area is in the same space as the loo - albeit on opposite sides of this room!

Baggage: Due to the small nature of Zen studio there is not lots of space to store larger items of luggage such as suitcases. there is a enclosed alleyway next to the Airbnb’s space itself and some storage could be utilised here by you… If you wish us to store suitcases we would be happy to do that in our main house for you please just ask when you make your booking.

Bunkbeds: please be aware that the second guest using the upper bunk needs to be able to climb up 4 steps in order to access and use this sleeping space

IMPORTANT! PLEASE NOTE!
Please be aware that your shower is an OUTSIDE shower 10 feet from your front door. This is situated at the end of our garden, and so as such is in a shared space. However, no one will be using this garden when you are.
This is a cold shower so you'll certainly feel invigorated and alive and can then get back inside your own warm, secluded Studio space and RELAX...:-)

In addition to this, your host Clare is a reflexologist/essential oils educator and can offer a relaxing and healing session within her fully equipped on-site holistic health studio.

Bookings for these two experiences is advisable but can be arranged once you start your holiday. (Discounts for our guests).

Other things to note
Finding us. Sat Nav and post code do not completely help. Our postal address is Penzance Road, but we are actually just off North Road. Carminowe Farm is on Google maps.
Coming from Penzance, go through Newbridge and up the hill for about a mile, turn right at the top of the hill onto North Road. Travel down North Road for about two miles past the turning to Trewellard and Heather Farm both on the left. We are on left down a track, before the engine houses with chimneys which are on the right. Turn left on the track at the Carminowe Farm sign and follow other Carminowe Farm signs, turning left through stone gate posts, across a field and through some trees. We are the only house at the end of the track.
Coming from Pendeen vilage, follow signs for Penzance, turn right onto North Road. Go up North Road for about a mile, past the two old mining chimneys on the left. Our track is on the right, opposite the old farm house. There is a small sign for Carminowe Farm. Turn right and then left through stone gate posts, across the field and through the trees. We are the only house at the end of the track.
If you are arriving on foot there is a footpath and a track from Pendeen village and a path through the trees. Contact us for more information.

Harbour view, private room, studio and garden
House
Cornwall

Sitting in a green oasis, just 5 minutes away from open countryside, we enjoy beautiful views across Newlyn, Penzance and the harbour. The delightful cottage, nestled just above the historic port of Newlyn, will provide the perfect base for your holiday or art retreat.

The space
Trewarven was built in 1927 and we’re fortunate to retain many period features. The wonderful views are enjoyed from the comfortable conservatory and balcony. There is a charming living room with french doors into the conservatory. There are four bright bedrooms, two of which are in the attic space and have pitched ceilings. The kitchen and bathroom are simple but functional. The garden is a tranquil haven from which to enjoy the bird-life, a snooze in the hammock, the evening sun and a BBQ.

Guest access
You will have access to the shared conservatory, kitchen, dining room, garden and bathroom of course. You are also welcome to paint in the studio and art lessons are available!
Newlyn is full of steep narrow lanes but we can be reached by a nice wide road from the top and the steep turning is easier if taken from the top. If you have a very large vehicle or you don't like driving up the lane, it may be easier to park on the road at the bottom of lane. Most people get used to the narrow roads quickly but occasionally people prefer to use the public car park down the hill; it all depends upon how comfortable you feel behind the wheel!

Children should be supervised at all times on the balcony and their safety is the parents responsibility.

Guests are invited to make themselves at home and to enjoy all of the facilities with a mindfulness that the house is our home.

During your stay
I live here with my two sons aged 20 and 17. You will need to be independent but I am more than happy to engage with you, show you the ropes and share local knowledge and tips.

I’m not always at home but one of us usually is…

Should you wish to paint I can support this with a tailor made experience if there is enough advanced notice.

Your stay enables us to repair and maintain this lovely house, for which we are very grateful.

Other things to note
I bought the house five years ago and have been busy updating and refreshing it. We love it but it's not perfect: The bathroom is tiny, with a bath/shower combination, but there is an outside utility and toilet The kitchen is basic, clean and practical and has been lovingly updated, with a new parquet floor and Belfast sink. The conservatory is wonderful but is undergoing constant maintenance.
