RECOMENDATIONS FOR ACTIVITIES AND TOURS:

DAY 1; HORSEBACK RIDING BEACH AND MOUNTAINS

If you are renting for a week, a horseback ride on the beach is a nice way to start your vacation, followed by an afternoon in the pool.

DAY 2; BEACH TOUR DAY

Another fantastic way to spend the day is to hire a taxi to do a beach tour. This brings you to several very interesting and fun places including a small farm and a hidden waterfall where you can watch the locals dive from very high perches, The Blue Lagoon, where you can zip line off a cliff and dive into a 70' deep cenote. At the same stop, you can explore an ancient cave.

After the zip lining and swimming, it;s time for lunch on Playa Grande Beach. This beach has been voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! The fresh seafood and chicken on the menu and drinks including coco locos and pina coladas will leave you ready to continue exploring one or two more beaches. I recommend Playa Diamonte where you can find fresh water sulphur springs bubbling up from the sand on the beach and can walk out 300 yards and still be in waste deep calm clear water. Another beautiful beach is Playa Calleton.

DAY 3; MONKEY JUNGLE ZIP LINING

Monkey Jungle is a short 30 minute ride from the villa.
A Taxi can take you there in his van (up to 6).
They have a pretty intense zip line circuit. They also have a really cool monkey habitat where you can feed the small monkeys as they sit on your shoulders and heads and eat out of your hand! If you don't want to zipline, you can just do the monkey jungle and sit at the bar to wait for the zip liners to return.

DAY 4; CABARETE BEACH MASSAGE AND SHOPPING

A day at Cabarete beach is a very relaxing way to pass a day in this wonderful beach town. Many of the establishments will not charge you to use their beach chairs if you buy a drink or snack from them. While on the beach, there are vendors in blue shirts that are licensed to give massages and pedicures on the beach.
It's a must to have an on beach massage followed by a mani-pedi while drinking a cold beer or pina colada. Very relaxing indeed! There are also many shops to explore in town if you need a break from the beach.

DAY 5; PRIVATE CHEF AT VILLA AND MASSAGE

If you are tired of having fun away from the villa, hire our private chef to indulge you with their fantastic meals throughout the day and night. They will meet you the day before to prepare the menu for the next day and stock the fridge with groceries necessary to prepare breakfast the next morning. After breakfast, they will prepare the menu you desire for lunch and dinner then go shopping. This is beyond any doubt most guest's favorite experience during their stay! If you want the ultimate in relaxation, couple the chef experience with a full day of massages, manicures and pedicures poolside or on the beach and you are in for a real treat.

DAY 6; SOSUA BEACH AND PUERTO PLATA CABLE CAR

A morning ride into Puerto Plata to take the cable car to the top of Isabella del Torres is a memorable experience. The views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking! There are also trails and gardens that you explore on top, as well as a little restaurant.
After the cable car, ask your taxi driver to take you to the old fort where you can learn a little history about the area. Then, on to the Amber museum.
After the Amber Museum, a little snorkelling and lunch at Sosua Beach will be a great way to wrap up your week. The shopping at Sosua Beach is much more affordable than in Cabarete.

Dean, the owner, went out of his way to make sure that everything we needed was there, an additional baby cot, high chairs, floating devices for the pool… They acquired everything we needed. The property opens up onto a deserted and sandy beach. You have to be careful with the current and the waves can be high, but fun and the sea water is warm. This is kitesurfing paradise so you can watch a lot of these agile kite-surfers coming past. We loved the beach and the remoteness of it, although-with 4 toddlers in our company - we spent most of our time at the pool. The pool, surrounded by loungers, is very conveniently situated near the big dining table and seats on the terrace. - "A beautiful property on one of the world’s best kiteboarding beaches in the world. It was enhanced by Alex, Joel , and Jenny, who were there to assist us with any needs we had, whether it was help with immigration details, transfer and taxi rides, or laundry. The modern home is well appointed with everything we needed to relax, cook, and be comfortable. The AC and ceiling fans made the place comfortable day and night. Plenty of TV’s, a gas cooktop, fresh bottled water and a stainless fridge were all at our fingertips. The restaurants in Cabarete are all fun and fabulous. Sitting at a table in the sand with lights in the trees and the ocean right next to you made you want to return every night. Not to mention the restaurants recommended outside of Cabarete. We did enjoy a four-wheeler day trip with waterfalls and beautiful mountain views. Our family took a scuba class and saw beautiful fish and enjoyed that day as well. Sitting by the pool playing games with the family at the house was even delightful. The service with the cleaning of the home and help with our laundry was over the top. We did enjoy an evening having a meal prepared for us - arranged by Erika. And the meal was both delicious and fun - even going to the grocery store for the food and beverages we wanted was easy. Thank you to the chef. The view from the Penthouse balcony was an added bonus. - "This is a beautiful house with 5 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and air conditioning. The main part of the house is not air-conditioned, but double sliding doors allow you to open everything up to enjoy the ocean breeze. There was a bit of a drop-off to the beach itself, but there was a gorgeous pool right outside our door; that's where we spent most of our time. We felt very safe and secure in our: "compound" with round-the-clock security guards, along with someone to take care of the property. There was maid service available when we needed it, and they frequently brought us clean towels. Although the cooks were additional, they were well worth it, and they did it all, from the shopping to the cooking to the cleanup. It was fantastic, and my entire family decided that we should always have a "staff" for our vacations, especially the cooks. The only drawback was that we really couldn't walk to anything (we had 2 small children with us) and had to hire a ride if we wanted to go anywherew - but that was a slight inconvenience compared to what an overall fabulous place this was. We all hated when our time was up and we had to leave."

- "This property was amazing and exactly as advertised. We travel frequently and have yet to experience a better host and house staff. We traveled with our three adult children, my mother 85 years, and grandson 3 years old. The house is spacious. When not at end beach we were around the pool. The indoor/outdoor living space added to the experience. The home is very spacious and beautiful. There was plenty to do for older and younger. We did take advantage of riding horses, hydrosurfing, 27 falls. We arranged for a chef for 4 nights incredible food. Breakfast was made for us daily by our amazing house keeper. Dean our host arranged for any travel. We did opt to rent a car, with a party our size this ended up being the right decision so we could grab groceries. Also if we wanted a massage we arranged that with the house staff and they came to the home. Prices were far less than we have paid on other vacations. A location that just can’t be beat is the best way to describe our house. A newly built villa that's located just 30 min from Puerto Plata International Airport within the gated property of Millenium Resort and Spa. Transport to the Villa can be arranged for your arrival and departure. Once there, it is a short 3 min walk(280 steps to be exact) to the beach where the water sports for which Cabarete is known are taking place. Walk another 1/2 km down the beach and you are in the heart of the small town Cabarete where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and bars to entertain you day and night. You can skip the rental car because almost everything you need is within walking distance to the Villa. Vagamundo Coffee and Waffles for breakfast, Mambo fish tacos for lunch at Gorditos and Yalla for late afternoon tapas and cocktails at the Millenium pool. All of this and more is located with in a very tight radius of the villa. Feeling a little adventurous? Walk a little farther into town to El Callejón for a great selection of local fare. Don’t feel like eating out? La Rosa Supermercado is located across the main road from the Villa. It’s a small, but very effective, locally owned grocery store with all the basics necessities you could ask for. They also carry a decent selection of liquor, beer and wine.

The Villa’s location is ideal for wind sports as the primary launch for Playa Cabarete is the same beach access mentioned above from the villa. LEK school offers kite lessons and rental gear onsite if you are new to the sport or didn’t bring gear.

- "Our stay at the Sea Horse Ranch villa for a family vacation was nothing short of spectacular. We were able to get 3 generations, fourteen, of our family together for the trip of a lifetime. No detail is overlooked here, from the incredible decor, the infinity pool with breathtaking views, plenty of bikes to explore the community, and last, but certainly not least, the wonderful staff of four. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff with tropical drinks and instantly felt like we were at home. We opted to pay additional to a chef to cook breakfasts and dinners. We selected six meals from a menu of 20 options and Fransico did not disappoint. Once we rented the home, Raquel, texted us to ask if we need help with transportation from the airport, she arranged a small bus for our large party, asked if we wanted to organize rental cars, chef services, and activities. Her communication, response time and customer service were exceptional. Thank you Raquel and Alex. The house is a 10 minute drive from Cabarete where you can enjoy dinners on the beach, mojitos at a number of waterfront restaurants, or attempt to learn how to kite board and surf. In addition to Cabarete there are a number of excursions like horse back riding on the beach, our favorite was the caves, where we gained a future son in law, with a proposal to our daughter. Upon arrival back to our villa the staff was so excited by the news it felt like they were part of our family as well. If you have made it this far through my review and are still reading, I would suggest just going ahead and reserve the villa for your trip, you won't regret it! On a side note, my 79 year old parents joined us on the trip. Two days before we were scheduled to fly out of the USA to DR, my mother called to inform me her and her husband were regrettably going to cancel the trip due to the US State Department warnings and internet stories of tourists being robbed. Fortunately, we convinced her and her husband to stay the course and they made the trip and they had a wonderful time. We felt extremely safe at all times, went out to the bars in Cabarete three nights and no one in our partly had any issues. As a traveler who has travelled to a dozen Central and south American countries, I found DR surprisingly clean. literally zero trash on the roads, parks and beaches, which is a chronic issue in all other Latin countries. We are defiantly planning on a return trip to DR and this home."
