Casa Sarnella is a holiday villa with fantastic views and a 3 minute walk to the sea. The house is situated in a quiet urbanization at the foot of the Cap de Creus, with sleepy fishing villages, beautiful nature and some old castles and fortresses within walking distance. The environment is very popular among cyclists.

The house is ideal for:

- MULTIPLE FAMILIES: the house is suitable for children thanks to the fenced garden and the little traffic on the street and is divided into two separate sleeping areas, each with two bedrooms and a bathroom. Downstairs is a large children's bedroom and games room with 2 to 4 children's beds and a play corner.

SPORTS GROUPS: There are numerous mountain bike, cycling and walking routes that run past the house. There are also nearby (sea) swimming lanes, SUP and kiteboarding schools, opportunities for fishing at sea, sailing and a sunken ship for snorkeling or diving a few hundred meters from the house.

HIKERS: because both GR-routes and the Camí de Ronda run past the house, the villa is a privileged place for hikers.

CYCLISTS: our immediate environment is very popular amongst cyclists, so there are extensive opportunities to rent bicycles, get a training plan or even to participate in bicycle traineeships led by professionals. We are happy to help you rent a bike. Thanks to the large garage there is a possibility to store sports equipment safely.

NATURE LOVERS: the Cap de Creus is a rugged nature reserve on the coast that separates France from Catalonia. The landscape is exposed to the bright sun, salty sea breeze and long periods of drought. This combination of factors means that the landscape is not only very interesting from a geological point of view but also offers a unique habitat for flora and fauna. Right on the Cap de Creus is a smaller natural park, the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà (the wetlands of l'Empordà), which is very popular among birdwatchers. The seawater is clean and very transparent, making it a good area to discover the underwater world.

CULTURE LOVERS: the Cap de Creus is one of the first populated places in Europe. There are indications that people have lived there since the Paleolithic, although there are many more remains from the Neolithic. There are plenty of dolmens spread over the hills. Afterwards, the Cap de Creus became a strategic place for Greeks and later Romans, who settled on this spot. Both grew wine and olive oil here, which were spread over their entire empires. Beautiful medieval villages and castles are spread across the Empordà area. The beautifully preserved monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is within walking distance of the house. Also lovers of local gastronomy are at their place here: enjoy fresh fish and local wines, visit one of the starred restaurants in the region, participate in a cooking class or course, visit local markets with seasonal products or do a guided tour at one of the many wine estates.

The house is situated in a quiet residential area, against the hills of the Cap de Creus, the national nature park on the border of France. The house is 3 minutes walk from two small beaches and the hiking trails to the lighthouse and other viewpoints over the rugged coast.

There are plenty of walking routes starting right outside: the Camí de Ronda, along the coast, or the GR routes into the Cap de Creus, for example to visit the beautifully preserved monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes.

The Cap de Creus is part of the Empordà region, a coastal landscape consisting of beautiful quiet bays with turquoise water, surrounded by rugged rocks with gigantic cacti and agaves. A little more inland this rocky landscape turns into a large plain where wine, olive oil and cork have been grown for thousands of years, and which reminds of Tuscany, with friendly hills with church towers and quiet villages on it.

This varied landscape offers plenty of opportunities for every taste and age.
