The kitchen is well-stocked for all of your food preparation needs. There is a large microwave, large toaster oven, and a full-size fridge. It features a convenient drawer-style dishwasher. Also for cooking there is a hot plate and plug-in griddle for pancakes and the like. (There is no stove-top or formal oven.) The kitchen has ample counter space and a deep sink, and overhead there is a skylight. (We are fully walk-able to 20+ restaurants, so we find that most of our guests don't do a lot of cooking.)

The bathroom has ornate tile-work, a bowl sink and fun decorative touches. The stacked washer/dryer is available for your use.

Parking is available for one car behind the apartment, and there is plenty of street parking for any other vehicles.

The town of Carpinteria is pretty small, measuring approximately 1 mile square. There are at least fifty restaurants, and many cute little shops, all within easy walking of your apartment. If you're not familiar with "Carp", I recommend you plan a couple hours for a leisurely walking tour of the town. We all have our favorite places and I'm sure you'll find a few of your own. Carpinteria beaches are the highlight, and we have the best beach a couple minute walk from your door. If you plan to hang around Carpinteria, you can literally leave your car parked the entire stay. You can walk almost anywhere in "Carp" in about 20 minutes...30 minutes max. I recently took a full walk of the town, from our door, through town, to the state parks and beach, and home again...and it took 50 minutes. There's also a local trolley bus which you can ride for fun, or if your feet get a little tired. For traveling North to Santa Barbara or Solvang, or South to Ventura or Los Angeles, you will need your car. Amtrak also departs from the Carpinteria station, only a 10 minute walk away.

- "We spent the long Thanksgiving weekend here and had a great stay. The complex is literally a block away from a gorgeous beach - we'd grab one of the beach chairs and hang out, or go for a sunset stroll, or head south on a longer walk to see the seal sanctuary. It's also an easy walk to cafes in the town. There is a comfy couch for watching TV, a dining table for eating together, plus a well-equipped kitchen (Vitamix blender + Keurig coffee maker!). The king bed was very comfy; the twin beds for our college-age kids were maybe a bit small, but they didn't complain. I'd recommend bringing your own bottled water; the tap water is very hard/mineralized so I felt better about not drinking it directly from the tap. But great water pressure! We really enjoyed our stay."

- "We were very impressed at how well-stocked everything was. We like to cook family meals, the kitchen had absolutely everything we could need. The bathroom was well-stocked with lots of towels. We all thought both beds were very comfortable and there was a lot of closet space. As an artist I really appreciated the art books and classy art decorating the walls. New washers and dryers were very nice too. The best part was walking across the street to the marsh trail and just blocks away from the beach!"

Mountain View from bedroom window and only steps to one of California’s premiere family friendly beaches. Quick walk to world famous “the Spot” burgers but really, it’s all about the beach, it’s like so close! Walking trails in the wetlands are close too, the kids love exploring there. Carp’s got some cool restaurants too, our favorite is Teddy’s by the Sea. Partly because our dog is named Teddy but food’s pretty good too!

The space
Cozy and quiet 1 bedroom unit. Large King size bed with Mountain view from window. Full size kitchen with tv in living room. Located on 2nd floor so your won’t hear footsteps from above. With that being said, please be mindful of neighbors downstairs, they are an elderly couple who live on site year round.

NOTE: Some guests have complained there isn’t an HVAC system. The building is over 70 years old and there wasn’t a need for AC back then. None of the units have AC. I have purchased 2 portable AC units and they work pretty well but they aren’t the same as standard air conditioning. In addition, there are ceiling fans in each room and box fans also available. For colder nights there are 2 portable floor heaters as well. I just want to make sure you’re aware the entire building doesn’t have HVAC system in any unit, it’s not just mine.

Front door has a keypad for entry. There is parking around the back and you’ll need a parking key card which will be on kitchen counter.

This recently renovated complex (2018) is half a block from the nicest beaches of Carpinteria and directly across from the Salt Marsh Reserve. Carpinteria is one of the last standing little beach towns in California, essentially unchanged in over 50 years. The city is limited in growth based by its physical boarders, making the entire town only about 1 mile square. Dozens of smaller mom and pop restaurants and cute beachy shops. Its a town where you young children can walk or bicycle safely, visiting old favorite shops like Robitelle's Candy shop, and The Spot burger joint. Then there's the beach! Protected by the Anacapa Island chain, Carpinteria is known as the World's Safest Beach. Your dogs will love it too, as the beach from our street (Ash Avenue) Northward, dogs are allowed with leashes. (If allowing dogs off-leash...be aware that the police occasionally ticket off-leash dogs and the ticket is expensive.
We're located about 10 miles from world renown Santa Barbara, and 15 miles from the city of Ventura. Looking for. some shopping? Camarillo Outlet Mall is located 30 miles to the South. Northward you find dozens of wineries, Solvang, and all directions have dozens of great golf courses. Whether you're interested in shopping, dining, kayaking, whale watching, golfing, or just relaxing on the beach, Carpinteria vacation will become a fond memory that you and your family will yearn to repeat year after year. All of Carpinteria is easily walked in about an hour. There is also a cute public trolly and bicycles to rent (mostly summer). Amtrak stops many times each day for fast easy trip to Santa Barbara and points beyond. LAX is the International airport that serves the area, about 2 hours South. The smaller Santa Barbara Airport is about 30 minutes away.

With an ideal location just east of bustling Santa Barbara, you can spend your days down on the sand with a good book, beach combing along Carpinteria State Beach, and hiking at Salt Creek Marsh Nature Preserve. On the evenings that you don't feel like making your meals, there are dozens of restaurants within a few blocks of your cozy Carpinteria retreat.

Featuring a classic, split-level design, the main level of this Carpinteria vacation loft holds a comfortable living room decked out in neutral tones, with pops of orange from the artwork and throw pillows. There are a couple of sofas for lounging (as well as an air mattress), a large TV for entertainment, and a distinctively laid-back style. In addition to the dining room table, you'll also have some seats at the breakfast bar, overlooking the kitchen.

When it is time to get a meal on the table, the kitchen is compact but nicely functional with tiled countertops, a refrigerator, and a stovetop/oven. There's even a blender for fruit smoothies or margaritas. And when it's time to do the dishes, just let them soak while you watch a movie or head down to the beach.

At night, the sleeping loft upstairs has a comfortable bed, along with a skylight, and accessories like reading lamps and a shelf full of books. The full bathroom is also located on the loft level. Between the bed and a queen-size air mattress, four adults can comfortably stay at this Carpinteria vacation home.

Gorgeous Carpinteria State Beach is about 200 yards away and is the perfect setting for a beach-side picnic, an afternoon lounging in the shade of a beach umbrella, or a day of building sandcastles. You can rent a paddle board, play some volleyball, or just lay back and take a nap. Located at the corner of Sandyland and Linden Avenue, you are steps away from Carpinteria City beach, “the world's safest beach”. Relax in the California sunshine or play a game of volleyball. Turn the other way and a short stroll up Linden takes you to the small beach town vibe of boutique shops and local restaurants. Hop on the Amtrak - next stop Santa Barbara nightlife. The kitchen is fully equipped and just outside are barbeque grills, tables, heated pool and whirlpool spa.

Ok - you’ve dug deep - that’s awesome. If you don’t turn and walk to the beach or downtown, continuing to walk straight across you’ll enter the beach boardwalk. Continue your walk or jog through the campgrounds to the adjoining nature trails through the tar pits and on to the seal sanctuary. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Just steps from the “World’s Safest Beach,” this condo has a great balcony to sip your wine and read a book or enjoy the slight ocean breeze. One studio bedroom, a large shower to clean the sand off, a couch that pulls out into a sofa bed for the kids and a view of the ocean never gets old. BBQ facilities, a pool and hot tub are nearby on the property. Bike racks, EV chargers, and short walks into town and restaurants are all here!

The space
The bedroom is a studio bedroom with a queen bed. There is a closet and dresser in the bedroom. A large skylight in the bedroom allows additional light and when opened, air flow brings the ocean breeze into the space. The studio bedroom is located in the rear of the condo and the living space is located towards the balcony. In the living room space the sofa opens up into a bed, creating space for an additional 1-2 small children. You must access the unit using stairs. There are washers and dryers on site and you will need to use an app or get a "card" from the onsite property manager. A key for parking will be left for you along with a key to access the pool and hot tub. There is a fee for these two items if not returned upon check out. A property manager is on site if you need additional support while vacationing. The town is very accessible to walk and enjoy from the condo. The beach is literally across the street and you never need to move your car during your stay!

Located in the beautifully renovated Tropic Shores Apartments, located steps from the best beach in Carpinteria, and directly across from the Salt Marsh Park. Carpinteria is a cute little beach community fit into an area approximately 1 mile square. In that mile, "Carp" packs in at least 50 small restaurants and just as many cute little shops. My family has been in "Carp" for over 50 years, and the town still has the same small beach resort feel that it had in the 50's and 60's. For the beach loving visitors, "Carp" claims to be the "World's Safest Beach". There are decent waves for plenty of safe fun, and world class surfing not far away. The most enjoyable part for many, are the early morning or sunset walks down the beach. Whatever your preference, I know that you'll love your Carpinteria vacation. If you plan to hang around Carpinteria, you can literally leave your car parked the entire stay. You can walk almost anywhere in "Carp" in about 20 minutes...30 minutes max. I recently took a full walk of the town, from our door, through town, to the state parks and beach, and home again...and it took 50 minutes. There's also a local trolley bus which you can ride for fun, or if your feet get a little tired. For traveling North to Santa Barbara or Solvang, or South to Ventura or Los Angeles, you will need your car. Amtrak also departs from the Carpinteria station, only a 10 minute walk away.


Pets may be approved to stay with us on a pet by pet basis. Some breeds and temperaments will not be allowed.

The space

This property is right by the beach, it’s loaded with kids toys, a hiking backpack for young children, fishing poles, a small surf board, and every kitchen amenity you could need. We have laundry on site (not in the apartment), dishwasher, oven, regular coffee maker that takes grinds, oven, microwave, refrigerator, propane grill, and toys for the beach along with beach chairs and umbrellas. This is the perfect place if you have a family because we have everything you could need! All we ask is you bring everything back that you use or you will be charged for missing items.

Beautiful newly remodeled 2nd floor 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with brand new modern furnishings and amenities throughout. This recently renovated complex (2018) is half a block from the nicest beaches of Carpinteria and directly across from the Salt Marsh Reserve. Super quiet location, 200 yards from the sand, and walking distance to the shops and restaurants. This unit was recently furnished (2019) with high-quality contemporary leather and walnut furniture and contemporary art decor.
Carpinteria is one of the last standing little beach towns in California, essentially unchanged in over 50 years. The city is limited in growth based by its physical boarders, making the entire town only about 1 mile square. Dozens of smaller mom and pop restaurants and cute beachy shops. Its a town where you young children can walk or bicycle safely, visiting old favorite shops like Robitelle's Candy shop and The Spot burger joint. Then there's the beach! Protected by the Anacapa Island chain, Carpinteria is known as the World's Safest Beach. Your dogs will love it too, as the beach from our street (Ash Avenue) Northward, dogs are allowed with leashes. (If allowing dogs off-leash...be aware that the police occasionally ticket off-leash dogs and the ticket is expensive.
We're located about 10 miles from world renown Santa Barbara, and 15 miles from the city of Ventura. Looking for. some shopping? Camarillo Outlet Mall is located 30 miles to the South. Northward you find dozens of wineries, Solvang, and all directions have dozens of great golf courses. Whether you're interested in shopping, dining, kayaking, whale watching, golfing, or just relaxing on the beach, Carpinteria vacation will become a fond memory that you and your family will yearn to repeat year after year. All of Carpinteria is easily walked in about an hour. There is also a cute public trolly and bicycles to rent (mostly summer). Amtrak stops many times each day for fast easy trip to Santa Barbara and points beyond. LAX is the International airport that serves the area, about 2 hours South. The smaller Santa Barbara Airport is about 30 minutes away.
