We were honored to have our cottages (#248884 & #336069) chosen to fill the "Little Gem" category of Carpinteria Beautiful's annual Home and Garden Tour in April 2012. They were also featured in Carpinteria Magazine's winter 2010 edition.

The cottage features bamboo hardwood floors, tasteful furnishings, central heat, ceiling fans in the bedrooms, and all the comforts of home. The surrounding neighborhood is very peaceful and the neighbors are friendly. Thursday afternoons offer a fresh Farmers Market. The town of Santa Barbara is a short drive away and hosts a zoo, museums, shopping, golf, art events, botanical gardens, the Queen of the Missions, wine tasting and more! - "The property and location was great. We had a wonderful time and hope to return next year. This was our second time and just love Carpinteria! The unit was just perfect." - "So, for contemporarily beachy comfort, cleanliness, and character, the unit was impeccable.. It seemed the whole place had recently been upgraded with new flooring, countertops, sinks, sleeper sofa, appliances, runners, etc. Not even an old nail hole could be spotted under the fresh paint. We were especially thrilled by the magic light around the bathroom mirror that makes you look younger when you press the hidden button. (You'll have to see it to understand.) Really, there's a lot of good stuff to say about the place, but what pleased us most beside the location and the grassy entrance to the side deck, where you can conveniently rinse the sand from your feet, was the undeveloped wetlands across the street from the unit. The mornings and evenings were filled with birdsong coming in through the sliding window. That mixed with the sound of waves crashing at night helped create the ambiance of worry-free tranquility one seeks in Carpinteria. As an added note, we were charmed by a little feathered visitor from the marsh. Now, we're certainly not birders, perhaps it was a wren, but if you keep the screen door open, a little bird will hop into the unit and flit around, perhaps nabbing a crumb off the counter and then just as easily find the exit and hop away after giving you a wink. If a wild little bird can feel relaxed and at home in this place, imagine how we felt."

Welcome to Carpinteria! We are just across the street from the beach, on the corner of Sandyland Road and Elm St. in the La Cabana complex.

We love our condo and take meticulous care of it. We furnish it as we would our own home, as we like to stay here at times ourselves. The condo has lots of sunlight, views of the mountains, and cross breezes (we are an end-unit.)

The condo is a completely and beautifully renovated 2 bdrm condo in a quiet complex- Pergo floors, granite counter tops, newly painted sky blue, tile bathroom floor. It is full of light, and is peaceful and comfortable. There is one bathroom with a tub and shower.

You can walk across the street to Carpinteria Beach, one of the loveliest, cleanest beaches at the South Central Coast. We provide beach towels, beach chairs and toys to take over to the sand with you.

The swimming pool is heated, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped, There are gas grill for your use, and an onsite laundry facility.

The wildlife refuge is a short walk and has excellent birding. The seal rookery is down the beach. Dolphins and whales swim offshore. Carpinteria is a lovely beachside town for walking around, with good restaurants, shops, parks, artists' shops, antique stores, and palm tree lined streets.

Santa Barbara is 15 minutes up Rt. 101, with many family activities and attractions: shops; zoo; botanical gardens; bike paths; watersports, art museum, natural history museum . Summerland is a great nearby town for antiquing and many wineries are nearby.

- "We’ve stayed here twice now. It’s great! The unit is clean and comfortable. The towels are plentiful and big and fluffy. The kitchen is well-stocked. I LOVE the location — within easy walking distance to all the local restaurants AND to the beach. The building feels safe, and parking is super easy. - "Great location and beautiful room" - "Location was perfect! A short walk to the sand, a short walk to shops, a short drive to Santa Barbara, and a parking spot on site. Loved the heated floors in the bathroom - what a luxury! The only thing I was a little disappointed with was that the sound of the road was often louder than the sound of the ocean, but being able to see the ocean from the patio was still amazing, and I loved relaxing on the loungers outside. Also, considering how close the train tracks are, I was pleasantly surprised at how little we heard from inside the room when a train passed. Finally, the only thing that might improve the room would be a couple of comfortable chairs. Right now the only seating options are the bed, or a couple of hard chairs at the little table, but that's not a deal breaker, just would have been a nice option. I would definitely stay here again!"

Mermaids Grotto is a beautifully updated condo, directly on the sand of Carpinteria State Beach. It is one of eight condos in the building and has beautiful mountain view’s. This small but incredible beach town has much to offer, but you’ll be tempted to just stay in and cozy up on the oversized couch and spend your days relaxing on the beach. THE SPACE:
1ST BEDROOM-This bedroom has a queen sized bed with a dresser and a ceiling fan to keep you cool

2ND BEDROOM-The second bedroom has two full sized beds with an attached bathroom. The bathroom has a travertine standing shower with glass doors, a toilet and a sink. The closet in the bedroom has games, beach toys, and corn hole. This room also has a door that leads to the side alley way.

BATHROOMS-There are two bathrooms, one is attached to the second bedroom with the two beds. And the other is in the hallway next to the 1st bedroom. This bathroom has a travertine tub shower with glass door, a toilet and a sink. The bathrooms have Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash.

LIVING ROOM-Cosy up in the living room on the oversized L shape couch. There is a TV with the ability to stream Netflix and other streaming services. There are local magazines for you as well. The kitchen table that seats up to 6 people is in the living room.

THE KITCHEN-Cook up some delicious meals in this fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, BBQ tools, and all your basic kitchen needs. We have two coffee pots, a drip coffee \and and Keurig for your coffee by the cup. Coffee pods are not provided but sometime there are left over pods available. The kitchen has a stainless less fridge, dishwasher and electric stove top and oven.

LAUNDRY-There is laundry in the hall closet. Detergent is not always provided but if it’s there, feel free to help yourself. The iron is located in the closet as well.
PARKING-You have two provided parking spots in the gated parking area. They are numbered #6. Guests are asked to park on the street.
PATIO-There is a shared patio with other units. There are two gas BBQs (they are hooked up to the building so no need to get propane) and picnic tables for you to use during your trip
WIFI/ENTERTAINMENT-The home is set up with high speed wifi. The router is located under the living room TV. The TV is set up with cable and is able to stream shows and movies from Netflix and other steaming services

BEACH GEAR-The house is located on the beach so we are happy to provide our guests with boogie boards, beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and towels for all your beach needs. We ask you do not leave any items on the beach and bring everything back on to the unit when you are not using.
