- "Location of Bothwell Court is fantastic. In St Leonards down the road from the supermarket and train station. Dunfermline town centre a short stroll away too. The flat overall is great and very warm and got some cool gadgets in it also. The shower is absolutely amazing and probably one of the best you will come across. One bedroom apartment in a quiet residential location in central Dunfermline just ten minutes walk to the town centre, the historic abbey, palace ruins and other historic sites in the beautiful Pittencrief Park, know locally as The Glen.
The apartment comprises the upper floor of a two storey building with its own private staircase. There is a double bedroom attractively furnished in pine with access to the shower room/toilet off the bedroom,
The living room has cosy sofas, a 40 inch flat screen TV, free WiFi .
Heating is by means of an electric stove heater and radiators, the cost of fuel being born by the owners.
There is a small kitchenette adjacent to the living room containing toaster, kettle, coffee machine and fridge and a microwave for warming up ready made meals etc. There is no conventional oven, or hob.
For those traveling light we provide a washing machine/dryer.

Food can be obtained from the corner shop less than five minutes walk from the apartment or from Tesco, open 7 .00am to 11.00pm (8am to 8pm on Sunday) about ten minutes walk from the apartment, and from lots of outlets in town and surrounding streets. Really desperate, then there is a 24/7 Asda at Halbeath Retail Park about two miles away.
The town has numerous cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, including the inevitable Starbucks, Costa and Cafe Nero to the more interesting unique ones in the museum, Old Fire Station, Alhambra Theatre and Pittencrief Park. For retail therapy there are again the usual Marks and Spencer and Primark as well as local retailers.

The apartment is just ten minutes walk to the bus/coach station in the town centre and a pleasant 20 minutes walk through the Glen to the train station with its regular service to Edinburgh. As well as Edinburgh, the ancient city of Stirling with its Castle and St Andrews, the home of Golf and ancient university and ecclesiastical town are within easy reach, as are the numerous picturesque fishing villages along the Fife coast, and the towns of Culross, Falkland and Aberdour with which fans of Outlander will already be familiar. There is a regular bus service to Glasgow which takes about 1 hr 15 mins. Loch Leven with its island castle in which Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned, and from which she escaped, is just a short drive away; boat trips to the island across the loch in summer.
Dunfermline itself has much to offer with its Abbey, and remains of its Royal Palace the birthplace of Charles, and award winning new museum.
As well as the Alhambra there is also Carnegie Hall, and don't forget to visit the Birthplace Museum of its benefactor Andrew Carnegie.

There is a microwave, kettle, coffee machine and a casserole electric dish. In the description of the property, it should be made clear there are no cooking facilities apart from the microwave. Modern seaside flat just a 25 minute train or car journey to central Edinburgh. Lovely coastal walks with breathtaking views. Sunsets are a must with a bottle of wine. Just a 20 minute drive to the airport or a direct train. Great cycle networks and walks directly in front of the flat as we are actually on the famous Fife Coastal Path. Excellent central location to explore Scotland with the mountains, St. Andrews, Edinburgh and Glasgow all less than an hour from your doorstep.

The space
Our first floor flat is a homely space in a lovely location comprising a double bed and also a pullout sofa in the living room that can be utilised at a push. Just let us know and we can arrange this to be made up for your stay.

The train station is one mile away which you can walk to in 15 minutes or drive to in a few minutes. The trains into Edinburgh run every 30 minutes and the journey in takes 25 minutes to Haymarket and 30 minutes to Waverley station.

If arriving at Edinburgh airport during the day you can catch the tram to Edinburgh Gateway then catch the train to Dalgety Bay.

There are beautiful coastal walks with stunning views directly in front of our flat and a handful of restaurant/bars in Dalgety Bay with great food and drinks. Nearby Aberdour also offers superb dining, gardens, award-winning beaches and even a castle.

Would suit visitors looking for access to Edinburgh Festival or simply for a peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle. Frankly speaking, it's a bit of a hidden gem.

You will have access to the entire flat. All the wardrobe space, fridge/freezer space is for you to make use of during your stay. A selection of books and DVDs are also available but do please leave them in the flat when you leave. If you are halfway through one of our books we can accept swaps or perhaps late returns if you ask nicely. 😉

Other things to note
If visiting for Edinburgh festival and planning to travel by rail, please check the time of the last train back to Dalgety Bay or Inverkeithing as during the festival a taxi back may cost up to £60. Train tickets are £5.60 off peak and £9.60 peak times return at time of writing.

PLEASE NOTE this property is over 100 years old and has lower ceilings of 195cm.

The basement studio has a large bedroom/sitting area, including TV with Netflix and broadband. The fully equipped galley style kitchen has a small table and chairs as well as a washing machine & dryer. This is an unusual and quaint place with access to garden and patio. PLEASE NOTE that due to the age of the building there is a restricted ceiling height of 195cm.

Guest access
The studio is accessed via the grey gate at the right hand side of the property and leads directly down to the apartment. The lock box is on the right hand side of the studio door. The door faces directly onto the well maintained and south facing garden. Guests have full use of the patio and seating.
