The space
The Studio offers an open plan space with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette* - the perfect base for a visit to Frome. Complete with modern Scandi-style furniture. WiFi and an HD 40inch smart TV (access to your Netflix, and Amazon Prime available).

Attached to the main room is a shower room with, fluffy towels, and eco-friendly bathroom products such as 'Who Gives a Crap' loo roll and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensed from reusable bottles.

The bedroom is a modern space with a King-sized bed equipped with 100% cotton bedlinen, and hanging space for your clothes during your stay.

*The kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs, and wine glasses. We also provide English tea bags, local coffee roastery Loud Mouth coffee, and cleaning products. We have a fully equipped kitchen with sink, hob, single electric oven with grill, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment, cutlery, crockery and storage. Kitchen basics are also included so you don't have to worry, plus a cleaning kit & supplies for that first cup of tea or coffee.

Next to the kitchen is a wooden table and seating for four people, perfect for eating, working or just relaxing with a coffee. We have a brand new King size bed with memory foam mattress, a bedside table alongside, hanging space plus chest of drawers with lots of storage. This is where you will find the hair drier & ironing board & iron for guest use.

Off the larger living & sleeping space is a newly fitted en-suite bathroom with rainfall shower, wash basin and WC. Shampoo, shower gel & hand soap included.

Our eco-friendly, cosy space is warmed by underfloor heating and has superfast fibre wi-fi. We also provide all bed linen & towels and welcome up to two well behaved dogs.

A unique and comfortable apartment in one of Frome’s historic chapels. Centrally located at the top of the famous winding cobbles of St Catherine’s hill, it is just a stone’s throw from independent coffee shops and boutiques, as well as the renowned Bar and Bistro Lotte.
The apartment is at the top of the building, so you do have to climb some flights of steps - but the view over the romantic rooftops of Frome to the hills of the Westbury White Horse will be worth it!

The main building has a pillared portico and tall double doors, opening out into a large sunny courtyard, which is beginning to be transformed into a haven!

You are welcome to sit out here and enjoy the sunshine and listen to the sounds of Frome from a position of privacy. The courtyard actually used to have a roof on it and be part of the interior of the chapel!

The doors to the main building open into a large communal hallway - running the length of the back wall you can see the original chapel stained glass windows!

Going up all three flights of stairs, you’ll find no 11, tucked away at the back left of the building.

The living and kitchen area has beautiful high ceilings with an original cornice and a big sash window which looks out over the town and hillside.

There is a shower room with a spacious stand alone shower, WC and wash basin. Adjacent is a bathing and dressing room with a cute Victorian roll top bath. This room has open wooden stairs leading to a mezzanine with a large, very comfortable king sized bed, always made up with crisp white cotton sheets.

The Undercroft - Luxury studio in heart of Frome.

The Undercroft is a private luxury studio on the lower level of The Old Church House opposite St Johns Church. Private entrance, Courtyard Garden, double bed, WiFi, TV, ensuite Grohe shower, plentiful storage space. Just a few steps from Frome's cafes, bars, shops and restaurants. Kitchenette with filtered drinking water, Nespresso machine and fridge. Sophisticated air filtering system, air is replaced 6 times an hour. Plentiful parking nearby.
The space
The Undercroft is pretty much that - the lower ground floor of The Old Church House, dating back to Tudor times. And it's just so cosy and welcoming. A stunning space we've renovated to afford our guests a remarkable experience right in the beating heart of Frome. It comes with it's own Courtyard Garden where you can sit out, work or watch the world go by.
It's had many incarnations in the past, not least as the storage shed for the town fire pump. The entrance is an original Tudor arch, walls are original Tudor stone. Beamed ceiling. We've built the ensuite shower and loo using reclaimed elm and pine creating a a wonderful textural feel set against the stone walls.
There are minimal cooking facilities. You will have a Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle, a fridge with some welcome goodies for you.
We've fitted a highly sophisticated air extraction/filtration system that replaces the air in the room 6 times every hour. It has a biological antiviral and antimicrobial filter, heat exchanger and dehumidifier. The air inside is fresh, light and relaxing.
The view from the studio is stunning - looking over St Johns Church Graveyard and its famous Via Crucis - The Stations of The Cross.
It's south facing so is bathed in sunlight in the morning.
the Undercroft is under our house and below our living room, so we've installed a full sound insulation system. You won't be able to hear us and we won't be able to hear you! The limitations are that due to the wooden beams which transmit sound, it was impossible to completely cut out footsteps unless we hid the beams and sound insulated them. However the sound of steps are very soft and barely noticeable. Our two Jack Russells sometimes scamper around, again it's rare and hardly noticeable. If there's any issue for you we'd love you to inform us and we'll make sure it stops.
Other noise issues that can arise, particularly at weekends is pub closing time - we are in the heart of the town and there may be a bit of boisterous folk up and down the steps. In our experience living here -we hear it too - it is usually brief and things soon quieten down. Also, early in the mornings you can get deliveries to nearby shops and the pub. It's a busy town centre so you have to expect some noise. However, living here, at night it is literally as quiet as a graveyard. Surprisingly so. (once everyone is abed).
One advantage is, being so close to a bakery and La Strada cafe, you may emerge from the studio to smell the croissants being cooked. Heavenly.

We welcome you to stay in our newly renovated flat, located at the base of Catherine Hill in the artisan quarter of Frome.

There are 2 bedrooms, one with a king bed and one double. Underfloor heating throughout, and secondary glazing on the front windows to make the flat as quiet as possible in the centre of town.

Frome boasts a number of delicious local restaurants but if you fancy staying in, the kitchen is fully outfitted for cooking and there are multiple food shops within a few minutes walk.

The flat is stocked with board games, a Super Nintendo if you fancy a bit of Mario Kart, and lovely vintage stereo speakers. There is a small outdoor space with a table and chairs.

Our modern art collection is a bit sweary so please bear that in mind if you are travelling with children.

You will have sole use of the entire property during your stay.

The downstairs door is opened via code and the key to the flat is in a lockbox next to the front door for an easy self check in.

There is no allocated parking for the flat. There are short stay (20 minutes) spaces on Palmer St to unload your luggage.

Once you’ve unloaded your luggage, there are paid car parks nearby on Cork St, and in the Cheese and Grain Market Yard.

The Space:
The Iron Gates is a large Georgian Grade II* listed emporium of vintage and antique shops, situated at the heart of Frome’s old town. The apartment sits atop the building and is the only residential dwelling in this location, with views out over the interesting buildings and developments.

You enter the property via a door on street level and take some stairs up to the first floor when you find storage for coats and shoes. The hallway leads to a huge kitchen/diner flooded with light from all angles though original Georgian sash windows. Tastefully decorated, seating for 6 and with all the equipment required for a simple meal or an extravagant dinner.

The large family bathroom is also situated on this level, with a large luxurious bath tub and separate shower. With hot water on demand, this spa like room ill have you relaxed in no time and ready for a night out on the town or for a wonderful night’s sleep in one of three brand new bedrooms, situated on the second floor.

The second floor does have a couple of low beams off the hallway, but the rest of the property has plenty of headroom. The master bedroom has a king bed and sits of the lounge and is complete with a dressing room and plenty of storage. There is another spacious bedroom by a small WC off the hall and a further single room with pull out trundle for a second single bed.

The lounge area is undeniably spacious and really is 3 spaces in one. Games area with chess board, comfy couch for watching movies on the huge 52 inch TV, and a relaxed area with record player and a selection of vinyl’s. With ‘Raves in the Grave’ an award winning record shop just a few short steps away, you can appreciate your purchases instantly at Iron Gates!

The room is a good sized double, with a comfortable mattress, an open wardrobe, storage shelves and a large window.

The flat is lovely and light - there is a cosy kitchen/dining area, and a shared bathroom with a bath and shower. There is parking available behind the property which can be used, or always plenty of space available on the street outside.

Our ground floor, newly renovated flat is close to the top of Catherine Hill, which is the heart of this historic market town. Here you can find the renowned Independent Market and all the best shops, cafes, restaurants, artists studios and many more entertainments.

The space
The Space - Sleeps between 2 - 4 people

Recently renovated throughout, our ground floor flat is spacious with Victorian sash windows to give a light airy feel.

The red front door opens from the street into a shared hallway and flat 2 is the first door on the right.

There is an area as you enter where you can hang coats and keep your shoes. The kitchen is to the right, which has a fridge with an inbuilt freezer, electric oven, extractor fan and induction hobs with all the necessary cooking equipment, utensils and cutlery.

Leading on from the hallway is a dining room which doubles up as a sitting room. There is a comfortable leather recliner, lamp, repurposed shelves for storage and table with a bench, 3 chairs and comfortable blankets. There is a fold out double bed which can be made up if necessary.

Leading on from this there is a short hallway with doors to the double bedroom (right) and bathroom (left). The bedroom has a cupboard for hanging clothes and some extra features including a ladder for hanging garments, shelves for books and a handmade paper pendent light.

The bathroom has a bath and inbuilt shower with an extra pressure valve to increase the shower pressure. There is a touch light-up makeup mirror on the wall.

The entire flat is completely newly renovated, including new windows and blinds using vintage 100% linen.

Although we don’t have private parking there is plenty of free parking on Selwood Road outside the flat and around. Due to being so central you can easily explore Frome by foot and Frome station is 12 mins walk away.

Other things to note
We live around the corner from flat so should you need anything we can assist with ease. It’s a neighbourly area so more of a friendly and family feel is requested. No a party house please :)

Originally built in the 1800s in pretty Ham stone, this property was renovated and converted into flats in 2007. The space has a minimalistic and calming feel. You’ll love the studio. It’s light and airy with a fab outside space ideal for alfresco dining.

It’s the ground floor of the one time village smithy and has fully fitted kitchen and dining area within the open-plan sitting room.
The separate bedroom has a super-king size bed and an adjacent shower room. The studio was until recently my base as an international knitwear designer.

A beautiful Grade 2 listed 18th century property situated right in the centre of Catherine Hill, the oldest part of Frome. Our beautiful pied a terra is on the corner of Catherine Hill and Stony Street right in the hub of the artisan quarter.

With beautiful high ceilings in the living room and floor to ceiling windows in the top 2 bedrooms, every window has a delightful view of cobbled streets and beautiful shops and bars perfect for people watching.

The space
Catherine Hill House is in-fact a first floor private apartment with lovely high ceilings and a view of the hill. We are situated above a shop, however because the front door is accessed front the back of the building from a slip road just off Catherine hill we have street level access just like a house and has its own private exclusive use access.

Our style:

We have an eclectic mix of modern and antique furniture and art, priding ourselves with a simple uncluttered atmosphere. Some of our decorations are items from our local shops on the Hill. We feel it’s good to keep business in the artisan family.

The living room:

One of our main features is our beautiful light and airy living room with views of Stoney Street and the delicious restaurant Little Walcot.
It’s the perfect location to socialise in for pre-supper or after supper drinks and an amazing locally sourced menus. Not to mention a relaxing lounge about when needed!

The kitchen:

Is modern, compact yet well equipped and has seating area for 4 people. With pretty views of Bramble and Wild florists as you look out of the window. We provide teas and coffee and a few basics (salt & pepper, washing-up liquid) for your arrival.


Our master bedroom:

Hosts a large and a very comfortable kingsize bed with feather bedding and 'White Company' linen. There is a large chest of drawers and a hanging rail for your clothes. The views look out right onto Little Walcot wine bar.

The second bedroom:

Hosts also a very comfortable double bed with feather bedding and crisp 'White Company' linen. There is a chest of draws and the views of our lovely neighbours 'Bramble and Wild' florists.

Both bedrooms have a hairdryer.

Guest bed :

We are also able to make up a comfortable single bed, made up of 2 wool roll mattresses on top of each other. With 'White Company' bedding, this is a cosy option and can be situated in any room.

Bathroom and toilet:

The main bathroom is on the upper floor with good size enamel bath and over bath electric shower/screen.

We also have a second toilet on the upper floor.

We provide paraben free, Faith in Nature hand wash, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner for your use.

Check in/ Check out:

Check in is from 4pm and check out 11am, the key can be found in a key box at the front door so you can arrive whenever you want after 4pm. If you could place the key back in the box on departing that would be appreciated.

Interaction with guests:

I live close by in an area called Keyford, if you should need anything I’m close and readily available to help.


Parking:

There is no parking directly by the house as Catherine Hill is mainly pedestrianised. There is a loading bay opposite Little Walcot which you can locate from Palmer Street which is accessed from Bath Street.

Once unloaded you can drive up Catherine Hill to Catherine Street where there is a restricted parking bay (4 spaces) on the left. You can park here free for 1 hour during the day, all night from 6pm - 8am and all day Sunday. Please note parking signs on arrival for any updates.

Mostly around this area there are double yellow lines however, if you can find a spot on either Whittox Lane or Weymouth Road you can park here free for 24 hours undisturbed.

There is also the option of paying for 24 hour parking in 2 of the towns large car parks for around £6.50 (All parking information can be found on the Somerset Council website)

Once you are unloaded and parked up.
Everything you need is literally on your doorstep from cafes to bars to shops to butchers and a whole-food shop & cinema - the list goes on.
You really will be looked after in every way just from the street.
If you are lucky enough to stay during market day you really are right in the middle of it all.
If you require any local advice, please do not hesitate to ask.

On booking I will send you a detailed message with parking advice and check in instructions. They keys are allocated in a key box I will send the code at least 24 hours before your check in.

Once you have opened the door you have a hallway with space to hang your coats. There is a large under the stairs cupboard for extra things.

The living room, kitchen upper hallway, cloak room, bathroom and 2 bedrooms are all exclusive use spaces for your disposal.

Other things to note
We are right in the hub of everything, there is noise from the bar until closing time on a Saturday and Friday night.

It is also important to remember we actually have a lot of residential neighbours that we need to respect. So, no all night parties.

During the week and on a Sunday except on Market days it’s surprisingly tranquil.

Supplied for guests use are Faith in Nature toiletries, a selection of tea (regular, herbal, rooibos etc), a cafetière with fresh ground coffee, a Tassimo pod machine (including decaffeinated), instant coffee, hot chocolate, and basics such as sugar, pasta, rice and oils.

Our cleaning products are eco-friendly, and our laundry is washed in Ecover.

Due to the historic nature of the building guests should be aware that some rooms have floor to ceiling sash windows. When a lower sash is open there are no barriers to a drop from height. Parents of children staying at the property need to be especially aware of this. There are safety precautions so the windows cannot easily be opened.

Due to the historic nature of the building guests should note that the upper landing balustrade is of a slightly lower height and take care if leaning over.

The space
The Iron Gates is a large Georgian Grade II* listed emporium of vintage and antique shops, situated at the heart of Frome’s old town. The apartment sits atop the building and is the only residential dwelling in this location, with views out over the interesting buildings and developments.

You enter the property via a door on street level and take some stairs up to the first floor when you find storage for coats and shoes. The hallway leads to a huge kitchen/diner flooded with light from all angles though original Georgian sash windows. Tastefully decorated, seating for 6 and with all the equipment required for a simple meal or an extravagant dinner.

The large family bathroom is also situated on this level, with a large luxurious bath tub and separate shower. With hot water on demand, this spa like room ill have you relaxed in no time and ready for a night out on the town or for a wonderful night’s sleep in one of three brand new bedrooms, situated on the second floor.

The second floor does have a couple of low beams off the hallway, but the rest of the property has plenty of headroom. The master bedroom has a king bed and sits of the lounge and is complete with a dressing room and plenty of storage. There is another spacious bedroom by a small WC off the hall and a further single room with pull out trundle for a second single bed.

The lounge area is undeniably spacious and really is 3 spaces in one. Games area with chess board, comfy couch for watching movies on the huge 52 inch TV, and a relaxed area with record player and a selection of vinyl’s.
