With its central location on Glastonbury high street, the 8 Owls is close to local amenities and good transport links which makes an ideal base to explore much of what the town has to offer: Glastonbury Abbey, The Tor, Chalice Well, Unique Shopping.

Newly refurbished, it retains much of its Georgian charm. Each room has a modern en suite bathroom, coffee / tea making facility and free view TV. High speed WiFi is available throughout the property.

We have partnered with the newly refurbished ‘The Crown Hotel’ to provide a varied and hearty breakfast menu to cater for the differing dietary needs of our guests. The Crown has a relaxed and congenial atmosphere and the staff are attentive and friendly. The hotel is located diagonally across the street from 8 Owls at 4 Market Place, Glastonbury BA69HD.

Guested are issued with a breakfast voucher, redeemable at the Crown’s restaurant.

Please be aware that the breakfast is included in the nightly rate only for the bedroms of the B&B. The cottage and the 2 bedroom apartment have fully equipped kitchen and are booked on self catering basis and breakfast is not included in the nightly rate.

Parking: As we are on the High Street its very difficult to park in front of our B&B and we dont have off street parking. However, the St. Dunstan' car park (next to the Abbey and 1 min away from us is free 6pm-9am and it cost £10 for 9am-6pm. Another alternative is St. John's car park is 2 min away and it cost max £5.60 for 24h

Step out of the front door and within a 2 minute walk you are in Glastonbury Market Place and the High Street with shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants all in the immediate vicinity, also the entrance to the historic Glastonbury Abbey. A market is held every Tuesday, and a farmers market is held on the fourth Saturday of the month.

Light and airy loft apartment with spacious design, beautiful view of the Tor and Somerset Levels only 0.4 miles from the town centre and the Tor. This self-contained sanctuary includes a sitting/dining room with a corner kitchenette, one bedroom & own bathroom with bath and shower.

The space
An intelligent, compact and tasteful loft conversion, making use of every available space. The main sitting room feels airy and spacious yet has a kitchenette in the corner and a table which folds out to eat and/or work on.

The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster, two-ring hob, fridge, and sink, so simple meals can be prepared there. A Ninja Foodi can be used as a small oven, and a small freezer can be used if needed.

The table can be folded out for meals and also makes a good workspace if needed. There is wireless internet with a good fibre connection.

Seating at the dining/work table is on two big gym balls, and there is a folding chair too if you prefer.

There is a small bedroom with a double bed, a 100% hypo-allergenic duvet and some clothes hanging and storage space.

The main room seats include a futon chair, a folded futon mattress and cushions on the floor. These are low and firm and probably not suitable for people with joint/mobility issues.

There is a computer monitor in the main room which can be used for watching/working via your device- it's not connected to satellite tv.

The bathroom has toilet, bath and shower and all towels are provided.

Guest access
The loft apartment is part of flat which is on the upper two levels of a three level building. As you enter the front door you will go up stairs onto the middle level. This middle level has a friendly person who lives there and who also sometimes has airbnb guests, so to get up to the loft you'll pass through these shared stairs and landing and may see them in passing.

The loft itself is self-contained with a lockable door to the apartment. You are also welcome to use the small astro-turf terrace next to the house for enjoying the sun when it shines.

Other things to note
Please only book if you can climb steep stairs. The stairs up to the loft are steep, so you'll need to be able to climb them and this isn't an option if you have difficulty with steep stairs- check the pictures to see to make sure you will be comfortable with them.

Because this apartment is in the loft, when it rains (which it has been known to do in England!) you can hear the rain louder than usual on the roof-tiles and skylight windows.

Nice high ceiling. Colourful furnishings. Homely feel. A little scruffy round the edges. Arty and comfortable.

Other things to note
This room is in the town centre. There is likely to be noise from the neighbouring properties including a pub which occasionally has live music at weekends, a shop which is open 7 days a week (and plays music from 10am) and residential properties with kids , dogs and people who have a social life. The room is directly beneath our kitchen/hallway and soundproofing in this 150 year old building is non existent so you will hear us during normal waking hours (7am-11pm - possibly later on weekends). As much as we try to keep disruption to a minimum, you will hear our footsteps in the morning, so if you are looking for peace and quiet then maybe this isn't the place for you.

The bed is a mattress up on a mezzanine which means that there is limited head room, this doesn't seem to be a problem for most people but maybe worth noting if you are particularly tall. Also access to the bed is via a ladder, so please inspect the photos and make sure you are comfortable with the access before booking the room.
The blankets have feathers in them, the carpets are made of wool and the building is old so it’s impossible to get rid of the dust, to be considered if you have any kind of allergies. And we allow dogs. And have a dog, so sometimes even the clean sheets may have dog hair on them.

Also, the bathroom does not have a door, it has a curtain. Please see photos. - oh and im no good at keeping the towels soft so they can be a bit scratchy (but perfectly capable of drying you after a shower)

The stairs up to the property are metal. This means they can be quite slippery when wet so please take care and use the handrail.

We DO NOT have parking. There is a large public car park at the rear of the property, or free residential parking on nearby streets a couple of minutes walk away. Guests are welcome to unload their cars using the neighbours driveway with a maximum stay of 30 minutes.

Flying Dragon's Nest self catering apartment has a cosy bedroom and king sized bed. The comfy living room has a double sofa bed and television. Kitchen with all amenities. We have a conservatory for relaxing evenings with a glass of wine and patio outside to watch those amazing sunsets.

Because we have a fabulous view we do have 37 steps down to the apartment!!

Bear in mind because we live upstairs it can occasionally be noisy.

Unique and stunning property built in 1890. The tree house is a self-contained flat with its entrance. Bathed in natural sunlight and surrounded by trees and beautiful views as you sleep on the side of the Tor. A magical place for rest and recuperation. Direct access to the Tor. A well equipped kitchen and bathroom both looking out over a delightful garden with its own enchanted forest. An open plan lounge and kitchen with plenty of space and natural light. The kitchen is well equipped because I love to cook.

I live in a neighbourhood of like minded souls. Each of us respectful of each other and of the ancient and healing land we are privileged to live on. Hillside is pioneering a new way of living together. We have cabins on the land that we open to friends and guests. We hold ceremonies and events here. There is an outdoor shower, compost loos and a couple of fire pits. We also compost on site and are growing our own fruit and vegetables as well as creating habitats to protect all the animals that we share the land with.

Access is through a locked side entrance which leads to a metal stairway that takes you up and in to the flat. Please be aware that from ground level there are stairs and or a pathway up to the main house. From ground level there are 2 flights of stairs leading to the entrance of the flat
