- "What I did like was ease of parking outside. What I didn't like was that I wasn't made aware that the room was in the back garden, having to walk past the smelly bins to the apartment, I could not open the windows because of this. the light switch for the upstairs bedroom, was no way near the bedroom, it was located on the stairs - so you cannot switch off once you're in the bedroom!, and there is only 1 working electricity socket in the bedroom too...very dangerous."

Beautifully furnished, the cottage is perfect for a family of four to enjoy a luxurious escape to the country. Outside you can enjoy picnics in the estate's gardens or visit the resident alpacas. Meanwhile, days out can be enjoyed at local beaches, the Wales Coastal Path and the historic town of Cowbridge.

Set out over two floors and blending original features such as exposed wooden beams with modern touches, this cottage is a fantastic home-from-home for a family holiday.
The living area is an open-plan but separated into zones. Amongst the original features in this space is the 18th-century cheese press.
The comfy lounge area has sofa seating, an armchair and a bench with scatter cushions, making it perfect for getting cosy for an evening of playing games or watching television. Next to the lounge is the dining area with table and chairs for four.
The kitchen is at the front of the cottage and overlooks the estate's pretty inner courtyard and rose walk. It was hand crafted from trees that were felled on the estate and is equipped with a standard electric oven/grill, a four-ring electric hob, a microwave, a fridge, a toaster and a kettle.
Upstairs, you'll discover views of the sea in the distance, as well as the two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king-size bed, featuring an oversized headboard which cleverly conceals the en-suite shower room. The second bedroom is a twin room, with two single beds accessed via a small set of wooden steps, with a private shower room next door.
You will also have access to a separate shared laundry room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board situated in the outer courtyard. Meanwhile, the estate's 9 acres of gardens and grounds are perfect for a quiet stroll, a picnic or admiring the sunset over the sea in the distance.

Lotus Cottage is housed in the beautifully restored, original stable block along with four other cottages (there are eight in total at the estate). It's the most spacious of the cottages and features exposed stone walls that provide character, while the high level of attention to detail combines the charm of a boutique country house hotel with the warmth of a home. Enjoy picnics in the estate's gardens and admire views of Glamorgan's Heritage Coast, before getting cosy in your open-plan living space. Meanwhile, days out can be enjoyed at local beaches, the Wales Coastal Path and the historic town of Cowbridge.
The space
This spacious apartment-style cottage is situated on the first floor and is ideal for a group of friends or a family of six. It was originally where the hay was stored for the horses at the estate and is now a luxury, loft-style abode.
Access is up a set of old steps and the open-plan living space features a lounge with comfy sofa seating and a Smart TV, a dining area with table and chairs, plus a kitchen that's equipped with a mobile island unit, combination microwave oven, electric hob and dishwasher.
There are three bedrooms. Two are king-size bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room and the other has a bathroom (with a freestanding bath and shower over) on a mezzanine floor accessed via loft stairs. The third bedroom is a twin room which is on a mezzanine floor accessed via loft stairs and has an en-suite shower room.
You will also have access to a separate, shared, laundry room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board situated in the outer courtyard. Meanwhile, the estate's 9 acres of gardens and grounds are perfect for a quiet stroll, a picnic or admiring the sunset over the sea in the distance.
Guest access
There is a key safe where you can access the key to the property for a self-check-in.
The estate grounds and gardens are communal and are available to guests of the manor house and all the apartments and cottages at the site.

The property is set out over two floors. On the ground floor the open-plan living area, that features the original 18th-century cheese press, is separated into zones. The comfy lounge area has sofa seating, an armchair and a bench with scatter cushions, plus a Smart TV. Next to the lounge is the dining area with table and chairs for four.
The kitchen, hand crafted from trees felled on the estate, overlooks the pretty inner courtyard and is equipped with an electric oven/grill, a four-ring electric hob, a microwave, a fridge, a toaster and a kettle.
Upstairs, there are views of the sea in the distance, as well as the two bedrooms. The first has a king-size bed with an oversized headboard which cleverly conceals the en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has two single beds accessed via a small set of wooden steps and a private shower room next door.
Bamboo Cottage

Take the original stone steps down to the basement of the former dairy to this peaceful, subterranean guest room. The stone, vaulted ceiling is lit up by soft lighting, the window was once the old coal shoot and the furnishings are luxurious.
There's a king-size bed, while a stylish, bespoke glass door leads into the en-suite shower room that has a walk-in, rainfall shower.
There aren't any kitchen or dining facilities, but tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary tea, coffee and milk are provided.
Fritillaria Cottage

This luxurious, ground-floor room features exposed stone walls, a vaulted ceiling and a small recess which used to house the original bread oven.
There's a king-size bed, a desk and a two-seater sofa that's positioned to enjoy views of the estate's rose garden. A stylish, bespoke partition leads to the luxury en-suite shower room that has a walk-in, rainfall shower.
There aren't any kitchen or dining facilities, but tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary tea, coffee and milk are provided.

This Georgian Grade II* listed Manor House is a private home that has been lived in and cared for since 1320, set in a 9-acre country estate. There are seven luxurious, individually styled suites that together sleep up to 16 guests and rooms and spaces for you to dine, relax and socialise in style. The manor house and gardens are a magical backdrop for a large family gathering, a birthday celebration or a special occasion. The grounds include lawns and a walled garden, rookery woodland, kitchen garden as well as a folly and there are views of the sea and stunning Heritage Coast of Glamorgan. Should you wish to tear yourselves away, days out can be enjoyed at local beaches, the Wales Coastal Path and the historic town of Cowbridge.

Designed for highly memorable gatherings and celebrations with family and friends, the manor house is perfect for living it up in style. Plus, the services of a private caterer or chef can be booked for everything from a four-course dinner to a sumptuous buffet.
For a special event, there are a number of rooms that can be set up. The mirrored ballroom, that features chandeliers and panoramic sea views, can seat up to 40 guests for lunch or dinner.
If it's something more informal you're looking for, there is a garden room that offers indoor/outdoor space that will seat everyone comfortably and is perfect for a garden party.
Meanwhile, you will have access to the estate's 9 acres of gardens and grounds which are perfect for a quiet stroll. Relax and socialise in the rookery or the walled gardens, while beautiful sunsets over the sea can be admired from the folly.
The manor house has 7 exquisite and individually themed bedrooms. From designer wallpapers and sumptuous fabrics, to handpicked vintage accessories and fine bed linens, every inch of space is luxurious. Bedrooms are spread over the first and second floors, and some feature the roof trusses of the 13th century part of the manor.
There's a beautifully romantic suite, designed to the brief of David Emanuel (best known for co-designing Diana, Princess of Wales' wedding dress). Accessed via a private, little staircase it feels secluded, while views extend over the walled gardens towards the sea in the distance. Relax in the luxurious freestanding, egg-shaped bath made for two in the en-suite that also has a double walk-in shower. Then fall asleep in the silver-leaf, king-size, four-poster bed.
The sophisticated, oriental-themed bedroom has a king-size bed and a freestanding bath in the room overlooking the rose garden. The separate, spa-like en-suite, hidden behind a curved louvred wall, features a rainfall shower.
The original banqueting hall of the manor is now a fourth bedroom with a palatial-theme. Highlights include the original bell-pull used to call for staff, a crystal chandelier and a gilded French, super-king-size bed. There's also a freestanding rolltop bath in the room, while a double shower is housed within the cabinetry and there's a separate WC room.
The fifth bedroom is tucked under the eaves on the second floor and decor is influenced by 18th century Paris. It features a king-size bed, views of the local church and a freestanding bath in the room, with a separate WC room (no shower).
The family suite is a relaxed coastal inspired retreat with views towards the sea. The suite provides a queen-size bed, cabin-style bunk beds and a seating area with a TV. There's also has a freestanding, double-ended, rolltop bath, as well as a separate wet room with shower and separate WC.
Another double room, inspired by the Scottish Highlands, features an Elizabethan Gothic half tester bed, while a freestanding, double-ended bath sits in the room and there's a modern en-suite wet room.
The final bedroom is a twin inspired by the classic colonial style of the iconic Raffles Hotel, Singapore. It features a large, freestanding bath in the room and an en-suite wet room with a shower and WC.

The manor house is perfect for living it up in style. For a special event, the mirrored ballroom can seat up to 40 guests for lunch or dinner, while the garden room offers indoor/outdoor space perfect for a garden party.
Bedrooms are spread over the first and second floors. Some even feature the roof trusses of the 13th century part of the manor, while views vary and include the gardens and the coast.
A romantic suite, accessed via a private staircase, features a silver-leaf, king-size, four-poster bed and an en-suite with a freestanding bath for two and a double walk-in shower.
A sophisticated, oriental-themed bedroom has a king-size bed and a freestanding bath in the room, plus an en-suite with a rainfall shower.
A wood panelled bedroom features an antique, four-poster, super-king-size bed, a TV hidden inside a cabinet, a dressing area and an en-suite bathroom with a rolltop bath.
The manor's original banqueting hall is a palatial-themed bedroom with a crystal chandelier, a gilded, super-king-size bed, a rolltop bath in the room, a double shower housed within the cabinetry and a separate WC room.
The fifth bedroom is tucked under the eaves and is influenced by 18th century Paris. It features a king-size bed and a freestanding bath in the room, plus a separate WC room (no shower).
The family suite is a relaxed coastal-inspired room with a queen-size bed, cabin-style bunk beds and a seating area. There's also a double-ended, rolltop bath in the room and a separate wet room with shower and WC.
The room inspired by the Scottish Highlands, features an Elizabethan Gothic half tester double bed and a double-ended bath in the room, plus there's an en-suite wet room.

First floor, apartment-style cottage housed in the original stable block. Features two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with an en-suite, on a mezzanine floor accessed via loft stairs, that has a freestanding bath with shower over. The third bedroom is a twin room on a mezzanine floor accessed via loft stairs with an en-suite shower room.
Outdoor space
The estate's 9 acres of gardens and grounds include lawns and a walled garden, as well as a folly and are perfect for a quiet stroll, a picnic or admiring the sunset over the sea in the distance. You will also have access to a separate shared laundry room.

The house manager will greet you on arrival and show you into the property.
The estate grounds and gardens are communal areas that are available to guests of the manor house and all the apartments and cottages at the site.

The Wales Coast Path runs immediately outside the apartment. It is a two minute walk to the beach and a ten minute walk to Barry Island station with regular trains to Cardiff. A convenience store is five minutes’ walk away. Also nearby, you’ll find excellent restaurants, coffee shops and major supermarkets.

Our spacious apartment has an open plan kitchen-diner-living area which is light and airy.
Starting in the kitchen, it offers everything you need for your stay including an electric oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
Enjoy sea views from the sitting room and unwind with two good-sized bedrooms (one bedroom is on the first floor and the second is up the spiral staircase which I would recommend is not child-friendly.) There's a fantastic mezzanine floor which can be used as an office/snug/extra bedroom (please bring your own air-bed and linen). The bathroom has a lovely big bath with in-built shower offering you the opportunity to relax after a busy day at the beach.
The living room area has an armchair and 2 sofas, one of which doubles up as a sofa bed (please request). This is a lovely area to relax after your seaside adventures while enjoying the sea view from the sofa. We also have free Wifi and a telly with Freeview for those rainy days!
This property benefits from having private, secure parking which is a rare find in this tourist hot-spot!
Dine at the infamous Marco's Cafe, have fun at the amusements, walk bare-foot on the beautiful sandy Whitmore Bay beach, enjoy an ice cream at one of the many parlours or head inland and trek up the Pen-Y-Fan!

Our accommodation is on the 9 acre Estate of Gileston Manor.
Explore the rolling countryside and Heritage coastline which is the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan. Take a stroll through the picturesque village, towards the local beach or follow one of the Vale Trails that start in the village and takes in the countryside and historic spots. With restaurants and pubs nearby to suit all occasions, as well as the opportunity for boutique shopping in neighbouring Cowbridge or Cardiff which is just down the road too!

You can book breakfast or Afternoon Tea in our Manor house prior to your arrival. Access to our Woodland Hot Tub and Sauna is by booking only, this is £30pp for 2 hrs. You can book Alpaca walks around our estate or down to the beach for £25pp. Free guest parking available in the courtyard of The Manor.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the Manor gardens and outdoor seating areas, feel free to explore the wildlife on the pond and paddock - we have resident Swans, ducks, chickens, sheep and Alpacas

The Carriages is a self-contained, open plan, ground floor studio apartment - complete with an in-room free standing bath next to the bed, a mini kitchen discreetly concealed inside a Japanese style cupboard and a dining table for two overlooking the courtyard. All our accommodation is dog friendly however due to the size of this studio, we suggest only one small dog for your stay.
