Our unique 1st floor apartment is designed for fun-loving families / friends! Hidden bookcase door leads to speak-easy style games room, with bar, darts, lush poker table, chandelier & pro foosball table. You get a cinema with full Rock Band setup (& Netflix etc)!

The living room has a huge sofa, and comfy things all round. Laze around chatting and sipping on a glass of wine, enjoying the atmosphere. Draw the cinema curtains to close yourselves off and get lost in a good film on the massive TV screen. We have subscriptions to Netflix, Prime Video, and Spotify, so there's a lot to choose from!

Behind the curtains is our long dining table, with great views through the long windows. Perfect for catching the rays in the day, or for playing one of our vast range of board games at night.

Each room has a separate radiator valve that you can turn up and down to suit your heating needs.

For the gamers amongst you, in the lobby there's a 2-player retro arcade machine (great for Mario Kart, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, or Tetris battles the good old fashioned way, standing next to each other! The 1000+ game selection should keep you busy.) There is also a coffee maker, a secret whisky globe and a chess board set between the plush armchairs in the lobby. Play some old LPs on the record player, and lose yourself in the timeless classics!

There's also an X-Box360 plugged into the projector. In other rooms, Nintendo 64 and SNES should keep you busy too!

Walk down through the cellar (and rock climbing wall / table tennis room) to get out to the cute little communal garden. There's a large sun lounger, outdoor furniture and a large gas BBQ. Go up the wooden stairs for the Zen room, chillout SNES wave, multiple showers and ice cold bucket shower. Again, the room has beautiful Harman Kardon speakers, and a lovely stone jungle theme. Through the large panorama windows which look directly over the forest behind the house, there's a terrace which catches the morning sun, and is a great spot for that morning coffee!

You will get the entire first floor flat (as described in 'The Space') exclusively for yourselves. You have your own entrance and keys etc. It is a purpose built rental-flat.

The flat is 125m2 in size (160m2 if you include the shared Zen room)

Schlick 2000 is accessible via a 15 minute walk from the chalet (or free bus), and the Stubai Glacier (snow guarantee 10 months of the year), Elfer, and Serlesbahnen are all accessible by a free shuttle bus that stops right next to the chalet.

Innsbruck is 10 mins drive away in a car, 30 mins by bus, or a stunning 1 hour tram ride winding through beautiful mountain villages.

Tourist Tax needs to be paid upon arrival. That's €2.80 per person per night (ie €20 each for a week stay). This is a compulsory tax for all guests, and goes towards our valley's fabulous infrastructure.

- "We have had a great stay for three nights. We had enough space for seven people and a lot of fun possibilities (Darts, Guitar Hero, Record player, and so on. There was only one little problem. Some of the plates and flatwares were not really clean. I am sure the team is doing his best. I see the problem by guests, when they lay the dirty plates back in the kitchen cupoard." - "Background: Our group consisted of my wife and me (in our 50's) and our two young-adult children and their significant others (all in their 20's). This was the last stop of a whirlwind 2 week tour that included Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Berlin and Munich. We stayed 2 nights at DMG (Doug's Mountain Getaway). The good: The "kids" loved the place. They couldn't believe how many great "toys" DMG included. We had a fun time during our stay spending quality time together. There are tons of board games including my daughter's favorite, Code Names, which we spent an evening playing. One of Doug's recommended places to visit is Lake Kampl which is in a nice little park right off the main road about a 5 minute drive away. We had a great afternoon there swimming and playing cards under a shade tree. We also drove into Innsbruck and had lunch and did some shopping. The bad: Many of the "toys" were broken including the video game machine and the X box. The shower in one of the bathrooms was broken. The coffee machine was broken. I couldn't find a corkscrew. We were there in the summer and the bedrooms have no AC and were a little room. Two of the bedrooms are pretty small. We did run into Gina who is one of the helpers and she switched out the coffee machine with one from one of the other units. She wasn't able to fix the shower during our stay. The laundry room is full of sheets and towels being cleaned for the next guests and is not really available for your use."

Brand new luxury ground floor apartment perfect for fun-loving families / friends. Featuring a 3 metre cinema, high-tech lighting and an über-sized, comfy sofa. Top-notch Italian granite kitchen, underfloor heating... Man-cave & climbing grotto come as standard too, of course ;) Schlick 2000 ski resort is walkable!

The bedrooms are cosy and tastefully styled. All benefit from underfloor heating. The 'Master Bedroom' has a beautiful Zirbe (Swiss Pine) floor and a super-king sized box-spring bed backed by a Zirbe wall hiding its private entry to a walk-in changing room and exclusive bathroom with large walk-in rainfall shower. The super-king can be split into two single beds.

The 'Family Bedroom' also boasts a super-king bed (180cm), along with a bunk bed. Again, the super-king is splittable, so you could also happily sleep 4 single adults here. There is an adjoined bathroom (which is also used by the 'Cute Double Bedroom' guests. It boasts a huge bathtub with massage jets, LED lighting etc.

The third bedroom ('Cute Double') is a much smaller space, but has a lovely vibe, and you still feel rather grand with the thick spring mattress, and a library of quality books beside you.

There is also the man-cave, which is actually more of a gaming room (large TV with Nintendo 64 plugged in), but can be used for sleeping if desired. It is underground (with no windows), but it does have it's own private floor-heated climate control, so the room is kept at any temperature for your comfort. There's an electric drum kit down here (with headphones), and the sofa-bed for 4-Player Goldeneye, of course.

The kitchen is huge. Comfortable seating at the solid dining table for 12 people. The massive Italian granite island and other work surfaces lend it a sophisticated edge, and it has the best utilities / facilities (bread maker / wine fridge / George Foreman / cheese, oil and chocolate fondues / raclette / coffee machines etc etc). Built in ceiling speakers and individually controllable coloured lighting throughout let you change the mood of the room within seconds. There's even a (not quite finished yet) wine cellar which rises out of the floor. You can also have fun commanding Amazon's Alexa, which is installed here, to give you recipes, tell stories, play music and answer questions!

The living room has a stunning log-fireplace which can be seen from throughout the flat, and coupled with an enormous sofa, makes for the cosiest of indoor winter days with your family. We have a brilliant collection of board games to curl up and play, and a 3D projector with a number of 3D Blu-Ray movies to watch on the 300cm (!) drop down screen. The iconic Scandyna speakers hang from the ceiling, providing such a glorious sound for playing your favourite music on Spotify premium (or Netflix movies) - which are both included in your stay here.

For the gamers amongst you, there's also a PS4, Wii and X-Box360 plugged into the projector. In other rooms, the Nintendo 64 and SNES should keep you busy! Again, we provide enough games there ;)

You will probably have to park in the underground car park in Fulpmes centre (Google Maps: Eisarena Fulpmes). It's €6 per day.

Note: There's one thing - in the 'Family Bedroom', one wall is shared with a factory next door. They can start bashing around as early as 7am(!!) so you may be woken up early (well, only mid-week and when it's not holidays, anyway!).

Doug's Mountain Getaway is a friendly and cosy place where you set the pace – whether you lie back on a comfy sofa watching a film on our enormous cinema TV, challenge your friends at pool or table tennis, or jump into the bath tub with a bottle of bubbly – we invite you to make yourself at home at The Getaway, Upper Two Floors (all 270m² of it!)

We also have the best knowledge of the local area, and there are so many cool activities to get stuck into that you won't want to leave. We have a minimum stay here because two or three days isn't nearly enough!

The chalet is massive - you'll actually be getting two of the three apartments, which have a private entrance. Both have 3 (+) bedrooms and silly amounts of cool, unique features. Think: Secret door leading to a poker & gaming lounge; hidden SNES chill area; and our fun 'Games Snug' (to name but a few);

We're flexible with sleeping arrangements - all 6 rooms have a double or king bed (with luxury Egyptian Cotton bedding, with canadian white goose down & feather pillows / duvets), and what's helpful is that most of the rooms have an extra bunk or pull out bed, so you can pop the kids in the same room together / sleep with your young kids in the same room, if desired.
