The apartment is situated in a building built in 1905. The AirBnB was originally a gym in early 1900’s, you’ll notice extra wide stairs not usually found in old buildings! The tin ceiling is original and was found covered up during renovation. The floors are original and absolutely beautiful. The downstairs was the office of a local auctioneer for many decades. It has been restored with circa era wood trim taken from an old statesman’ house in town.

If offers a private entrance, comfortable sleeping for six (a king, queen, fold out futon and fold out floor sleeper), a fully stocked kitchen with all appliances, a washer and dryer, office and a room-sized walk-in closet that also functions as a sleeping space and play area. It is tastefully decorated, centrally located, clean and comfortable.
We have priced it reasonably to allow for it being a basement apartment. You must be able to walk down the stairs to enter the apartment. It has a private drive with some cracked concrete on part of the driveway (does not impair function at all). As mentioned elsewhere, this is a basement apartment. Though it has a private entrance and driveway, people may be staying above you. We ask the occupants of both units to be respectful of this. You may hear footsteps above occasionally, or other sounds that come with living adjacent to another living space. Honestly, we have another Airbnb that is on a busy road. The traffic noise at that location (which isn't terrible) is louder than the sounds you might hear above you. Fortunately, this is a REALLY quiet location. In the event it bothers you, white noise machines are provided in both bedrooms. This is not a party Airbnb. Also, there is not a bathtub.

You have access to the private drive, yard outside the fence of the main unit, and the rest of the basement apartment. There is free parking on the premises and on the streets next to the house.

We welcome longer-term rentals. All that we ask is if your stay is over two weeks, you allow and pay for a cleaning of the Airbnb at two weeks and at every additional two-week interval.
We love dogs. We require a $15 per pet per day extra pet fee. We provide a large crate to crate your dog in, should you need to leave them unsupervised. We also provide a comfy dog bed. We have blankets to place on the couches and beds for your pets to lay on to protect the furniture and bedding. Dog food bowls and waste pick up bags are also provided.

Our home is next to a train track. Welcome to rural Nebraska. Stroll down to Side Street Deli for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Enjoy the Dark Island Trail located 5 minutes away. Plan dinner at Prairie Creek Vineyard and Winery located across the street or at the authentic Mexican restaurant that is a 1 minute walk away.
The space
This apartment does have a staircase with approximately 30 steps. The place has a bedroom, pull-out couch, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and a small screened in porch. It’s located in the heart of Central City. Although, we don’t notice it anymore, we do have trains that come through Central City. Some guests like the Old World Charm. Others, use earplugs or white noise to block the sound.
The AirBNB is within walking distance to our wonderful winery, Mexican Restaurant, Historic State Theater, Fox Theater and Dark Island Trail.
This home is a perfect place for you to stay during your visit to Central City. If you have any questions at all please feel free to reach out to me!

We do not have an ice maker, so if you like ice in your beverages you may want to bring up a bag with you.
We do have an outdoor camera that faces the front of the Airbnb door. The camera can not record inside the Airbnb as the front door/entrance is at the bottom of 30 steps.
We are located in a town near train tracks which some people have told us they love the sound of the old world charm; however, there are earbuds available upon request.

This is an over 100-year-old large craftsman home with 4 bedrooms and a den. The den easily converts to a bedroom with clothing storage and a sleeper sofa with an added mattress topper to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.
Bedroom 3 is a bunk room with twin bunks and a queen bed. There are two bedrooms with king beds. One of the king bedrooms has a large walk-in closet and an attached small room (no window) which boasts a beanbag futon bed that will sleep two children comfortably. The 4th bedroom is accessed through the master bedroom and has a twin daybed with twin trundle.
The spacious eat-in kitchen is fully stocked and includes a coffee station. The formal dining room is the perfect place for family meals. There is a nice gas grill available for your use. In the warmer months you can enjoy time on the enclosed furnished front porch
This wonderful space is priced reasonably due to it being a new listing, being older (though in great shape with modern bathrooms and kitchen—see pics!), and having a basement apartment below . Guests staying on the main floor should be respectful of that space beneath, as those in the lower unit have to respect those above. This is not a place to have loud parties. The top floor of Colossal Craftsman (where the bedrooms are located) has no noise concerns.
NOTE—To have the best situation possible, book The Spacious Surprise also (it sleeps up to 6 more people). You can access both units from the inside stairway which is unlocked when both are booked. You can sleep up to 20 people with both units and have a wonderful family or friend reunion! It is also a great place to host a reception with both spaces booked by you. Baby showers, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and birthday celebrations would be an excellent use for this property. Please be aware that a reception is NOT a wild party (which is not allowed even with both units booked for your stay).
