- "Magnificent views" - "Dit appartement ligt op steenworp afstand van strand en zee en centrum. Het is heerlijk om vanuit je appartement over de gezellige boulevard en de altijd wisselende zee uit te kijken. We hadden prachtig weer dus konden heerlijk naar het strand. De aankomst was hartelijk. Wat betreft kindvriendelijkheid was het appartement minder geschikt. Er is geen lift aanwezig en met een baby heb je nogal wat spullen nodig. Voor elk tripje moesten we eerst de wandelwagen in de auto in de parkeergarage gaan halen, dit was niet prettig. Verder was het appartement schoon en fris, de bedden waren fantastisch."

- "Schon mal da gewesen. Dieses Mal aber den Schlüssel Code nicht pünktlich bekommen :-( Telefonisch sehr schwer jmd zu erreichen. Mehrfach Kontakt aufnehmen müssen, bis nach vielem hin und her endlich der Code genannt werden konnte. Nach wie vor die Bitte 2 SCHLÜSSEL zu hinterlegen!!!! Ansonsten war die Wohnung sauber wie gewohnt." - "Zweites Mal in der Wohnung gewesen. Es war wieder sehr schön, wenn auch leider etwas teurer als letztes Jahr. Sauber (bis auf die Dachterrasse), hell, schöner Wohnraum. Dieses Mal war auch der Parkausweis da - sehr gut!!! Was leider nach wie vor fehlt bzw. sehr viel angenehmer wäre... ein zweiter Haustürschlüssel. Sonst muss man sich immer absprechen. Leider war die Haustür (unten) kaputt - konnte nicht zugezogen werden, sondern nur mit Schlüssel verschlossen werden, was unschön ist, wenn der eine den Schlüssel hat und der andere eben nicht (dann steht die Haustür für jedermann offen!). Ansonsten alles super! Kleinigkeiten...: Matratze ziemlich weich; Sonnenschirm oder Markise wäre der Knaller ;-) Falls nicht weiterhin teurer... nochmal gerne!"

Emma's beach house is in a great location in Katwijk aan Zee.
At a 1 minute walking distance (!) from the beach, the sea and the pleasant center of Katwijk, your holiday can begin.
The recently renovated 1930s house is tastefully and lovingly furnished. Despite the proximity of a lot of entertainment, it is quietly located. You will quickly feel at home.

The double house is on the first floor.
Through your own entrance you enter the vestibule where you enter the spacious holiday home via the stairs. Behind the old authentic doors is the living room with a view of the lively boulevard and a view of the sea. The spacious bathroom, the master bedroom with a double bed and a large window that borders the balcony. You will also find the compact but complete kitchen on a large roof terrace with sea views. On the second floor is a spacious attic with 4 single beds, again with a view of the sea where you can see the large ships waiting to enter the port.

For the little ones there are stair gates, a baby cot and a high chair available on request.

You can take bicycles with you, you can park them safely behind the house.
Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The house has been made completely fireproof including professional fire detectors and carbon monoxide meter, such a safe feeling!

When here you simply must try the famous "Katteks" (Katwijk) fish.
During a holiday here you do not need a car per se, because everything you may want for a successful holiday is right in hand.

On the ground floor there is the living room with a sitting area and a dining area for four people. For staying in on a rainy day, there is a home cinema set. You can also play your DVDs and Cds here. The separate kitchen is very basically furnished. You will find a Senseo coffee maker, a microwave, a kettle, ceramic hob with four burners, a dishwasher and a refrigerator.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms. The first one is furnished with a double bed and the second one is smaller and has a bunk bed. On the same floor there is also a modern bathroom with an extra toilet and shower corner.
On the second floor you have a third bedroom with a single bed.
Behind the house there is a spacious and furnished terrace with the possibility for barbecuing.

Katwijk aan Zee - originally a fishing village - has become a familiar and pleasant resort, especially in the last century. If you walk around you can still taste the historical atmosphere though. St. Andrew's Church dates back to 1480 and is the only church in the Netherlands, which is right on a boulevard. The "Vuurbaak" lighthouse (1605) is the second oldest lighthouse in the Netherlands. The fishing vessel, the old fishing boat, and the lighthouse are worth a visit. From the top of the lighthouse you have a magnificent view of the surroundings. In the Katwijk museum you can learn even more about Katwijk.
Panbos is a wooded recreational area in the dunes. You can walk, relax, go for a picnic, play sports and games here. There are several playgrounds, ponds and a deer park. For children from 6-12 years old there is a trail where they can discover nature. The goose and duck pond and the pancake restaurant will be greatly enjoyed by children.
The surroundings of Katwijk invite you to go cycling and hiking. Close by there is the Valkenburg Lake, suitable for swimming and surfing. When the weather is not that good there is the subtropical swimming pool of Aquamar in Katwijk to be enjoyed and the indoor playground of KidsZoo in Noordwijkerhout is a great alternative.
Katwijk is a great location, you're near special places anywhere you turn. Take a trip to Space Expo in Noordwijk, the Duinrell in Wassenaar, the “Linneushof” in Heemstede which is the largest playground in Europe, the Kagerplassen for sailing, boating, or water sports and the world famous Keukenhof in Lisse where you can enjoy the beauty of the famous flower bulbs.
Magnificent cities such as Haarlem and Amsterdam, Leiden and The Hague are located between 11 and 50 km from your beach house.

You will find this snug apartment in Katwijk aan Zee, South Holland featuring a roof terrace and close to the North Seabeach. This underfloor heating apartment is ideal for a pleasant family vacation.

The North Seabeach is 200m away from the property where you can bask in the sun. You can buy daily essentials from the Coop Supermarket, right next to the house. Relish your sweet cravings from the bakery 750m away. You can rent a bike and explore all the nearby areas. You can also take a nice walk at 9.5 km through the forest of Meijendel.

There is a pass for dumping wastage in the hall and for the parking garage on the table. You can park in the Boulevard car park. If it is full, you can use the Tramstraat or Princehaven parking. You are requested to leave the pass when your trip ends. The use of drugs (including cannabis), a fire pit or barbecue on the roof terrace is not allowed. Take care of the noise as you are staying with others in the same building.

You have a private parking right in front of the door. The studio is 5 minutes away from the beach and 10 minutes away from Leiden. The bus stop, a stone's throw away, takes you quickly to Leiden, The Hague and Noordwijk.

The studio is 26m2 so is small, but looks light through the windows and door to the outside. It has its own entrance, where you will have the option to sit outside.

There is a spacious kitchen, trundle bed for 2 people with 2 separate mattresses and a toilet with shower. The kitchen has an oven, stove, fridge, Nespresso machine including cups and kettle. You will have access to the utensils (pans, plates, cutlery, etc.) We will make sure that there are (bath)towels ready for you.

LOFT by the Sea is a bright attic floor that used to be used as a wood storage loft and space to pay for fishing nets. Now it is a cozy apartment with high ceilings, a maritime atmosphere and a French balcony in the living room. LOFT by the Sea is located in a quiet typical Katwijk neighborhood, a few minutes walk from the beach and downtown; the bus stop and the beautiful dune area with lovely cycling and walking trails.

The space
In the spacious bedroom there is a lovely large bed with Auping spirals and new mattresses (2 x 90x210 cm) and a spacious wardrobe. The bathroom is equipped with spacious shower, sink and toilet; and the kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, coffee maker and of course all necessary "pots and pans". Breakfast is not included.

The LOFT is only accessible by stairs.
The parking rules for the car have been adjusted. Pay close attention to parking whether it's paid parking or for licensees only. In front of the door, you can load and unload the luggage.

Tiny house!! Small but above all cozy studio with many facilities that have been completely renovated and received the first guests on April 19, 2019.
The studio is a 5-minute walk from the beach and the Katwijkse center with supermarkets. Large cities such as Amsterdam (30min) and The Hague are also easily accessible by public transport.
In short, a completely new studio with all the necessities and many activities nearby. PLEASE NOTE: from the end of March 2020 there will be air conditioning!!

The space
In the beginning of 2024, the studio had a refresh. Everything is painted, new floor, and a new refrigerator has been placed. There is a new topper and pillows on the bed. New furniture has also been placed.
The entrance is on the ground floor, there is also the bathroom and toilet. With a STEEP but also NARROW staircase, you enter the “living room”, where there is a new 2-person box spring. TV with WIFI is on the wall. There is a small kitchen with a two-burner hob and a fridge. Nespresso machine and kettle are also present for a nice baking! There are also 2 lovely chairs with a table ready to sit and eat. Through the French door, you enter the roof terrace where you can also enjoy the lounge sofa with hot days. In short, a nice LITTLE space with lots of facilities. There is also air conditioning available!!

It is possible to make a special fire under the covered terrace (available by onwer)which makes it very pleasant to sit outside in the evening nice private.

Our house is located about 100 meters from the beach, in the side street of the Boulevard of Katwijk aan Zee. In addition, the old village of Katwijk is less than 100 meters away, so you have the pleasures, but not the burdens. A supermarket is just a stone's throw away, so you can do your shopping on foot!

We also live in House 8 and offer you a place where you can relax and where nothing is required. The ultimate combination of getting away from it all and still feeling at home.

Each studio has its own kitchen and renovated bathroom.

You access through the front door ( own key) and up the stairs so can come and go as you please without disturbing us.
We live on the ground floor.
We also rent out a "beach bunker" studio, one level lower.

The accommodation consists of up to two bedrooms (depending on number of guests), a landing and a bathroom.
We rent to just one 'party of guests' therefore the bathroom is never shared with strangers.

The accommodation is not pram/stroller/buggy-friendly due to steps. However you can have access to our garage (at the bottom of the driveway) for storage of your pram/stroller/buggy.

There are BICYCLE rental shops, but because there was often more demand than supply, we now have our own bicycles! These can be rented at reasonable prices. 1euro per hour up to a maximum of 5euro per day. We can make a deal for more days.
HELMETS are not required in the Netherlands, but please bring your own.
We have one YEPP rear childs seat available plus an adapter. This is suitable for children from 9 months til 6 years ( or 22 kilo).
We also have a Qibbel Junior rear seat for transporting an older child, 6-10years (max 35kilo).
We only have ADULT size cycles. Childrens bicycles/ electric bikes/child's seats can be rented from Lemonbike. Lemonbike offer specialised cycles, tandems/ wheel chair cycles/ child carriages.
It may be also possible to rent an electric cycle with child carrier for two young children ( bakfiets) with us. Please ask.

Private BOAT TRIP is possible ( weather permitting) around the lakes or Leiden (it's like mini Amsterdam) in our own boat with friendly in house skipper :-)
Ask for info.

ALLERGIES:
Please be aware we have friendly :-) pets, namely a cat and a dog ( 10 kilo). They are strictly prohibited upstairs, but please assist by keeping the doors closed.
We rent out a ' beach bunker' studio in the basement where dogs are permitted.
If you have other allergies/ intolerances, let us know.

Just to clarify, our STARTING PRICE is based on up to 4 PERSONS sharing the family room.
On the Airbnb website infants (children under 2 years old) are not counted as guests when you are making a reservation as they are non paying guests. Say your party consists of 2 adults, 2 children 2-12 and 2 under two's (at the time of travel) you will not be eligible for two rooms. If this arises we have other options. See below.

*Our room of 4 is particularly suited for a family of two adults, two children but I understand the set-up is not always ideal, therefore we have OPTIONS:

If you are a group of 4 PERSONS ie parents and older children, or are holidaying with the inlaws ;-), two couples and would prefer TWO separate ROOM, this is quite possible for an additional fee, depending on the length of your stay. Please ask for details. And we can arrange this via a special deal, or alternatively you can decide when you arrive, see the room, and pay the additional fee.

2. PARENTS with THREE children, in one room:
There is now the possibility of having an extra person ( child only) stay in the family (four persons) room. We have a comfortable Innovation sofa bed 115cm x 210cm. This is available at an additional fee of 20euro per nacht instead of *45euro excl. evt. service costs This will include bed linen, towels and breakfast. When you request a booking of 5+ persons you will automatically get the pricing for the second room* (+ 45euro pp pn). Please ask us for a special deal and you will get the reduction for the 5th person.

3. TWO PERSON OCCUPANCY:

The space
The apartment is located at 10 meters from the dunes and 20 meters from the beach. It is also located about 2 minutes walking distance from the center of Katwijk and 5 minutes walking distance from the supermarket. The location is between the well-known Andreaskerk (also known as "white church" or "old church") and the Katwijk lighthouse. There is a large-scale secure parking garage less than 1 minute walk away and the parking rate for 1 week (in 2021) is €35,-
It is an authentic (older) house. However, all parts are working properly, it is not sleek & modern finished like many modern homes. To us, it does have its own authentic soul, which we personally like very much about the house.
All parts are located on the ground floor. One bedroom with 2 single beds and the bedroom with the single bed are in the basement.

Parking is possible in the parking garage at less than 1 minute walking distance for €35,- per week (2021). Loading and unloading possible in front of the door. At 1 minute walking distance there is also a bus stop where bus number 90 goes centrally towards The Hague and bus number 31 goes centrally towards Leiden. Leiden is about 20 minutes by car, Schiphol airport about 30 minutes by car and Amsterdam and Rotterdam about 45 minutes by car.
