Other things to note
The studio is located on a continuous street with quite a lot of traffic, but experience shows that as a guest you don't notice it. The studio is partially underground and therefore has NO view, the windows at most offer a view of our driveway, garden and garage.

For your and our safety, there are some security cameras around the house. The entrance to the studio is visible on 2 cameras but they cannot look inside. We do not actively look at the footage, but can look back on recorded images in case of problems.

In and around our house, you may also encounter our cat Lily, she behaves like "The Lady of The House". She would like to visit you for a while, so make sure she doesn't slip in.
We also have a dog, a Border Collie puppy. Born on March 12 and full of energy. Despite our best efforts to minimize the inconvenience, you will sometimes hear some barking.

The floor above is occupied by (small) children going to school, because of this it is possible that you could hear the children. Please take this into account when booking the apartment. The apartment is located in the middle of a neat cozy child-friendly residential area in a street with townhouses, so please be mindful of any sounds from the upper floor, neighboring neighbors and outside noises.

On request, there is a camp bed, a high chair to borrow.

Be welcome in our cozy guesthouse "stay.zen", within 5 minutes walk to the beach and the shopping street! With a lot of love and passion, we have completely renovated the guest house (which dates back to 1904), and are very proud of it. We love to let others enjoy the house and this nice coastal village.

The space
We completely rebuilt the studio earlier this year. Brand new and completely in a relaxed "beach" atmosphere. Good to know: with air conditioning!

The studio is a total of about 22 m2 and there is a practical (fully equipped) kitchen, a round dining table with 2 stools and a plateau with a sofa and coffee table. Under the plateau, you can easily pull out the built-in bed with mattress (140x200cm) within a few seconds. There is already made bedding on it. You can take the pillows yourself from under the plateau to put on the bed.

There is a low cupboard where you can store any clothes or other small holiday items, above it hangs a TV that you can use if you want to relax. There is a Nespresso machine with plenty of cups, a kettle and delicious tea.

Then there is a compact modern bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

You arrive at the guest house (studio) via the side of the house through our gate and garden. Due to the cozy palm trees in the garden as a partition, you have enough privacy.

Other things to note
One of the options is to park in the parking garage by the sea (under the dunes). Garage boulevard Zeezijde (North entrance). This is at 5 minutes walking distance from the studio. The cost here is 10 euros per day (24 hours). A weekly ticket costs 35 euros and can be obtained from the garage manager.

Free parking is also possible in the parking lot of supermarket: Dirk, or in one of the streets near the ice club. This is about a 10-minute walk.

Feel free to unload all your holiday stuff in the street in front of the door, that's no problem!

This Huisje aan Zee was completely newly built in 2018 and equipped with underfloor heating and perfectly insulated. So you can stay here in the summer but also certainly in the winter. It has its own entrance and a small place where you can sit outside.
The cottage is right behind the boulevard, so you are around the corner from the beach, the sea and the dunes! The center of Katwijk is a 500-meter walk.

Parking :

Paid parking in the vicinity of the property is possible. There is a parking garage on the boulevard (300m) under the dunes where you can drive in and out with a weekly subscription of 30 euros.

Free parking can be reached in about 8 minutes on foot.

The accommodation is not secluded but between other houses.
Therefore, we decided that it is not suitable for groups of friends.
The roof terrace is available until 21.30 in the evening.

Along the dunes, the road leads you to our own beach tent (Beach pavilion Paal 14), where you can settle on the terrace within minutes of arrival. There you can enjoy the sun on your face, the sound of the waves in the background and the tempting smell of freshly prepared delicacies. It is the perfect place to relax and take in the best the coast has to offer.

Vacation cottage "De Oude Bakkerij" is within walking distance of the beach on the outskirts of the cozy center of picturesque Katwijk. It is located in a former bakery and has its own entrance. On the ground floor (the bakery) is a large bedroom (with 2 single beds, air conditioning and smart TV) and a luxurious bathroom (bath, separate shower and toilet) and upstairs (the old flour attic) is the living room with a kitchen, a dining and sitting area (with TV and a pellet stove) and a small roof terrace.

The space
The cottage has a steep staircase to the living room/kitchen and terrace and therefore it is less suitable for the disabled.
