We have spent more than 6 months trying to improve our place so that future guests can really enjoy and feel at home while staying here. Most of the furniture and decor was handmade by us thus people booking here will find a part of our soul in each and every object of the place. It is 4 km away from Ankogel ski area and 24 km from Mölltaler Gletscher.

This place came to life through our experience as Airbnb travelers, but mostly from our wish of giving others the felling we have when spending time here. We want our guests to have more than a pleasurable stay, we want to share an experience of feeling at home in a place like no other.

Mallnitz really is the place where you want to go back over and over again. Located at 1200 m above sea level at the intersection of three gorgeous plateaus in Austria. It’s not only a winter gem, but also a wonderful location for the summer time. There are plenty of activities you can enjoy. For example: tennis, football, volleyball and basketball at the property; skiing; ice skating; cross-country skiing; swimming at Tauernbad pool; long walks in the Hohe Tauern National Park and surroundings; hiking; cycling and mountain biking; segwaying.

Located in the heart of Mallnitz, just near Billa supermarket and the bus station, the spacious and bright flat lies at second floor of Haus Alexander. Its large windows let in plenty of light and open up in front of Margareten pavillon, a place you should really get to in the summer days. There is a large balcony where you can enjoy everyday different views over the valley and the beautiful changing sky, which is also the only place you are allowed to smoke in the apartment, a condition we keep strict. Design fuses innovation with attention to details, giving each room a story to tell from its furniture, colours and textures.

The bedroom furniture is custom made to fit the space perfectly and create a relaxed, breathy atmosphere and it’s made from natural wood. Blackout curtains in each room to enjoy your intimacy and a resting sleep. Both beds have comfortable mattresses, pillows and extra blankets.

The bedroom on the top floor has an open view over the living room and the bed is handcrafted by ourselves from wood dating since the 1920s. The ceiling window reveals views over the mountains and the sport courts.

The stair is made of raw metal and it is a space saver stair designed to match the theme of the apartment.

The living room has a sofa that can be turned into a bed during the night. In the bookcase you can find Romanian, English and German books, as well as art albums, city guides or dictionaries. You can also relax in front of a Samsung 1080p 4k ultra HD Smart TV where you can watch cable TV, Youtube, browse the internet, or use the Netflix account - we thought you’d like that :) Also there is a laptop friendly work desk where you can also find some brochures, the ski area map and the bus schedule. The air conditioning system can be used both in summer and winter. The coffee table in the living room is just perfect for some board games with friends or family. We left some games for our guests in the drawer of the TV stand :)

The kitchen comes equipped with a hotplate and microwave oven, a large fridge (stocked with some goodies) and ustensils for cooking. You can enjoy using the coffemaker, an electric kettle and a toaster, as well as the coffe, tea, sugar and milk we provide for your morning kick-off routine :)

The bathroom has a deep bathtub with shower above, a wall mounted toilet, a wide mirror above the sink, a basket with the essentials, a hair dryer and even some cute books to enjoy your time on the loo :) Also the bathroom has a nice view of the mountains.

You will find plenty of storage space in the apartment: a coat rack near the entrance, a wardrobe in the first bedroom with coat hangers, lots of drawers and two luggage supports in the attic.

We will provide clean towel sets and bed sheets, slippers, bathroom essentials, coat hangers. If needed, you’ll have at your disposal a washing and a drying machine on the ground floor of the building. We can also offer you baby crib and high chair upon request.

Guest access

Guests have all the apartment for themselves. They can also use the gym from Bichlhof Hotel and the sports fields near the house.

Interaction with guests

We are available 24/7 via text or phone. We also have friends in the area who are on call if you need help.

The Mallnbach apartment is located in the village of Mallnitz. The village is located in beautiful Hohen Tauern, Carinthia. Mallnitz has its own ski area Ankogel (2636m), ideal for winter sports with children, but also for the experienced winter sports enthusiast.
The Mölltal Glacier (3122 m) is a 20-minute drive away. Where snow is guaranteed in winter, in summer you are right for beautiful hikes and bike tours. Mallnitz has among other things a cozy village center, a supermarket and a bakery.

Apartment 'Am Bach 3' is one of a total of 8 apartments for rent.
The apartment is on the ground floor and can be reached via its own entrance. There is a beautiful view of the mountains from the entire apartment. The apartment has a living room with a sitting area and dining area. From the living room you have access to the bathroom, the kitchen and the two bedrooms. This apartment has a private outdoor area. From the private outdoor area you can easily access the communal garden.

From time to time, activities such as pizza, grill and bonfire evenings are organized. The real Mallnbach experience.

Since we live in the bungalow, which is located on the property, someone is almost always present. If we are not at home, we can of course be reached by phone.

Automobile? Use the Bockstein Tauern locks. Arrival by car on the train and 10 minutes later in Mallnitz. Departure Bockstein every hour by 20 minutes. Departure from Mallnitz every hour 10 minutes beforehand.

Public transportation? Good connections from the Netherlands to Mallnitz (Via Munchen - Salzburg). There is a bus stop almost in front of the door, ideal for the hiking / ski bus. The train station is about 500 meters from the Mallnbach Apartments. Despite the short distance, a free shuttle is available. Do you want this shuttle?
