Opening the front door, an elegant spiral staircase leads you up to a light-filled open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. - "This property was perfect for our vacation in Melrose. The apartment is situated on the main high street in Melrose and is a convenient 2 minute walk to local shops, pubs, restaurants and Melrose Rugby Club. Only a 5 minute walk to Melrose Abbey and a 10 minute walk to the River Tweed. The property was spotless when we arrived. It was beautifully presented and fully stocked with everything we needed. The welcome gift basket was exceptional and so very generous. We had arrived from an international flight in the evening with no supplies. We had been left food to cook an evening meal and also a full breakfast the following morning, along with snacks and drinks that lasted us all week. It was so thoughtful and very much appreciated. Communication from the letting agent was excellent. I was given all the information for arrival, gate and lockbox codes, directions, etc well in advance of arrival. I would totally recommend this apartment and I will certainly be using it again next time we visit Melrose."

An inviting home in the heart of Melrose, with views stretching to the Eildon Hills.
Set back from Melrose High Street with easy access to nearby Gibson Park, Eildon View is an attractively restored stone cottage that offers a winning location in the heart of this picturesque town.
Within five minutes’ stroll of the town’s most popular sights, including Melrose Abbey, Priorwood Gardens and the Trimontium Museum, Eildon View nonetheless feels removed from the bustle with views across to the Eildon Hills and a tranquil shared rear courtyard in which to enjoy meals and drinks al fresco.
The ground floor offers a well-appointed kitchen with dining table, a comfortable sitting room with inviting plaid sofas and a guest bathroom with shower. Two cosy double bedrooms each offering views over the courtyard, are found on the upper floor, together with another contemporary bathroom with walk-in shower.
With so much to explore directly on the doorstep of this urban bolthole, there’ll barely be time to appreciate its comforts! In addition to the attractions of Melrose itself, which range from the Abbey and Roman museum to cutting-edge restaurants like Provender (handily located next door) and annual Borders Book Festival, there are plenty of options slightly further afield as well. Sir Walter Scott’s magical mansion, Abbotswood, is only 1.5 miles away, while the grand stately homes and gardens of Manderston, Mellerstain, Floors Castle and Thirlestane are also easy to reach.

A new open-plan garden studio apartment located in the historic village of Newstead just 1 mile from the enchanting town of Melrose.
At the foot of the Eildon Hills, this picturesque setting offers a unique escape for visitors seeking a tranquil retreat; the only sounds you're likely to hear are birdsong or the gentle trot of horses passing by on the nearby bridle path.
The garden studio faces a large private garden next to Mill Cottage (the main house). It's part of a new building with its own private entrance and parking. The garden studio apartment (one open plan space with separate bathroom) is in the same building as the owner's (Jane!) garden office/workshop.
There is a small kitchen with microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso machine and fridge. I don’t have cooking facilities but it’s ideal for breakfast and light meals.
St Cuthbert's Way walkers are welcome to have me drop off their bags for a small fee. Just send me a message.
