- "Being able to stand in the Gite and lean out the window right into the Main Street of Riquewihr was something out of a fairy tale. The room is very nice, well equipped, beds were comfortable. There is a very steep interior staircase leading up to the second floor, for which I had to keep a close eye on my toddler but the keypad access was very convenient and like I said the location is unbeatable. Being able to be out in the village and dawn and dusk was really nice and you can avoid a lot of crowds, plus you get to feel like a local."

- "We (2 adults, 2 kids 1+4yrs) looked for a gite/holiday appartment in Alsace. We wanted to make day tours in the area and do a few trips on road bike. The gite of Mr. El Khayati and the town of Riquewihr proved to be perfect for us. Riquewihr has a central location in Alsace, thus perfect for exploring the area. The gite itself had everything we needed, and it has its own private parking place. For loading/unloading the car we could drive in front of the gite, but it is a bit tricky through the medieval streets of Riquewihr - Mr. El Khayati was friendly enough to escort us on the 1st day. Otherwise when we did grocery shopping we carried all from the parking place (maybe 100m). In the gite itself, everything was clean and in very good shape. We especially appreciated the washing machine and dishwasher (and my son the TV ;). The kitchen was perfect as we did a lot of our own cooking. The cherry on the cake was the heating; the building is very old and can be a bit chilly, but the heating worked flawless and our baby didn't have any issues in feeling comfortable. Mr. El Khayati was very helpful in sorting our questions out - big thanks for that. All in all, a high reco for this gite if you are travelling with kids."

The name of this studio is "Refuge du Lutin" in French. Which means "Refuge of the Imp". If you search the internet for imps, you will learn that of all dwarves imps are the smallest and the wisest. Imps are usually between 2 feet 2 inches and 3 feet 5 inches tall and mostly have fair, red or light brown hair and clear green, blue or grey eyes. Should you be somehow taller, you could still have a comfortable stay in this studio which is twice as large as many hotel rooms!

A German couple who spent 2 weeks in the studio described the place with some simple words: "Mini Apartment with Maxi Charm, small but never tight"...

The studio offers traditional Alsatian decoration and modern comfort. Overdag gezellig druk met toeristen maar na 23.00 uur is het rustig. De accomodatie ligt niet aan het uitgaansgebied waardoor het altijd rustig is in de directe omgeving. Zeer gastvrije eigenarsesse die je welkom laat voelen en duidelijke uitleg geeft. Alles schoon en aanwezig voor een goed verblijf. In de omschrijving leek het dat de Stub voor 3 personen geschikt is maar dit is niet zo. Er is een twee persoonsbed en een slaapbank voor een kind. Eigenaresse zei dat zij dit al aan belvilla had doorgegeven maar dit niet aangepast is. Desondanks heeft zij toch van de bank een slaapplaats gemaakt voor mijn volwassen zoon en hebben wij een fijn verblijf gehad. Top ! Wij hebben genoten !"

Accessible by a wide and comfortable staircase re-built to modern standards - this apartment offers space and comfort with a unique charm, romantic and unusual. It opens to the four cardinal points. A large bow window facing south connects the sitting and dining areas, in front of the roofs of the old medieval village of Riquewihr.

The Sentinel***** is a romantic flat for 2 people, spreadingover two floors (duplex) in a medieval house embedded in the medieval rampart of Riquewihr.

Some steep steps (the original historical stairway) take you up from the street to the first floor, at the same level as the former covered defense walk way of the ramparts, where the medieval soldiers used to watch out for enemies, invaders or thieves (therefore the name Sentinel)!

Located on the first floor of our large Renaissance house built on the ramparts (1291) just near the Schœnenbourg vineyard, this lovely apartment for 2 people occupies the site of the medieval householder's lodging.
A few steps above the garden, the apartment faces south and west. It is extremely bright, thanks to its glazed living room, built as a winter garden on the first level of the great oriel window (large Alsatian bow window) which adorns the south facade of the building.

The Little Bear is right on the small and quiet square of the Winegrowers (place des Vignerons). The Little Bear gite has two independent entrances. It is accessible by 3 steps on the front or from the side by a small paved ramp.

Although not fully meeting the standards of handicaped access with use of an autonomous wheelchair, this apartment was designed to facilitate the stay of people who have difficulty climbing stairs: no step inside the apartment, large walk-in shower.

This apartment meets high level equipment standards as most of our other holiday apartments. Nevertheless, as the Little Bear is very well and naturally protected from the heat due to its location within the house we have chosen not to install airconditioning.

The former main entrance hall is now organized as a dining room in a kind of winter garden.

Lot of parking lot (not for free), 1 minute walk of the apartment. Usually we meet our guests at the post office located 2 avenue Méquillet and we ask our guests to send us a message 30 minutes before their arrival to Riquewihr.
The apartment is ideal for 2 adults and no more than 2 little children. It is not adapted for 4 adults.

Riquewihr is one of the most beautiful village in France. Its Christmas lights are unique and famous. From there you can go to Colmar within 20 minutes by car or Strasbourg (50 minutes). You can visit as well the famous road wine with very beautiful village like Ribeauvillé, Kaysersberg and Eguisheim.
