The spacious master bedroom has it's own private en-suite bathroom and own flat screen TV (in the armoir) AND.... the two additional bedrooms BOTH feature their own fireplaces for a cozy, warm atmosphere.
The open living room is a great space for you and your group to hang out and relax. There is an large flat screen TV, an android box with unlimited internet and a large (and quite diverse) collection of movies (DVD's). Put your feet up, munch some popcorn and enjoy some downtime with a good movie.
For those who love to cook... there are pots and pans in the kitchen if you wish to create fabulous feasts during your stay. The formal dining room offers a great opportunity for even larger groups to enjoying meals together.
(Note: the formal dining room is easily usable as an office/meeting space as well, with the large table and french doors for additional privacy if required)
Outside - there is a beautiful flower garden and outdoor patio space to enjoy. Murphy and Morris (our resident barn cats) will often stop by the garden to sprawl out in their catnip crop. They are super friendly and will enjoy receiving any "kitty lovin's" you have to offer.
A quick stroll down the driveway and over to the neighbouring farms down the way that carry fresh seasonal fruit, veggies and always farm fresh eggs, will have you set up quite nicely in no time from their self serve stands.
*There are also local farmers markets and grocery stores to assist you find your special ingredients.
Whether you are travelling with multiple vehicles in your group or are on a "solo mission" - parking is easy with plenty of parking spots available in front of our "round barn"...

Q: How far is the beach away from your rental?
A: The best beach in town - Canatara Park and Beach - is 4 km away (7 minutes by car). Everything at Canatara Park and Beach is public and free to use, incl. parking. Super nice sandy beach and the refreshing blue waters of Lake Huron are inviting you to spend the day here. Food truck at the West end of the paved parking (seasonally). We recommend to bring your own beach gear (beach towel/blanket, umbrella, games, etc).
Q: How far is Downtown Sarnia away from your rental?
A: The listing is right at the edge of Downtown Sarnia, meaning a short walk (750 metres, 10 minute walk) where the downtown core with all restaurants and entertainment is located.
Q: Is your rental in a noisy location?
A: No, not really. The house is located at the edge of Downtown Sarnia in a quiet residential neighbourhood. To the West side of the building is main road (VIdal Street), however the house is constructed in a way (triple thick brick walls and insulation) so that almost no noise enters the house. Also, Sarnia is a small city which means that in the late evening (after 10pm) and at night the traffic almost completely dies off and you won't be disturbed by traffic noises.
Q: I'm an out-of-town worker for the plants. Do you offer long-term stays?
A: Yes, we do offer short-, medium- and long-term stays. The house is very conveniently located to get to and from the plants (near Vidal and Brock St.). Please contact us for specials rates. No taxes for stays longer than 30 days.
Q: I want to book this house for my employees, however I heard third-party bookings are not allowed. How can I still do this?
A: Yes we can accommodate your employees, please clearly indicate your intention to book for someone else.
Q: How large is this apartment?
A: Guests have access to about 740 sq ft of the house. Room heights are between 7 feet. Very generous large rooms.
Q: I booked for 4 guests, but by surprise 13 more friends showed up and had no place to stay for the night. What should I do?
A: Please contact the hosts Robert and Ellan immediately. We do not allow any non-registered guest in our rental for what-ever reason.
Q: Is winter maintenance provided?
A: Yes, for snowfall exceeding two (2) inches the snow is removed from on our property. The public roadways (i.e. streets/alleys) are cleared by the City of Sarnia. At the main entrance we also provide a snow shovel and melting salt for in between snow clearing by guests.
Q: How good is your internet?
A: We have reliable WiFi throughout the apartment. WiFi password is posted on the information sheets throughout the house (hint: use QR code for access)
Q: What kind of taxes do you charge? Are there any exemptions?
A: We are obligated to charge the following taxes: 13% HST on stays 30 days and less PLUS 4% MAT (Sarnia) on stays 30 days and less.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: We do believe that our prices are fair for what we offer. Therefore we do not offer additional discounts. We do have discounts for long-term stays: Please keep in mind if you stay at least 31 days you will also save both taxes: 13% HST and 4% MAT!
Q: Are you offering stays less than 30 days?
A: Yes, we are legally licenced Short-Term Accommodation in the City of Sarnia. Licence No. LSA-034
Q: I received a notice for a $500 deposit and I'm asked for my credit card - is this legit? 💳
A: Yes, we are using a professional hosting software and we are putting a hold of $500 on your credit card, similar to a hotel room stay. Given the large size of the house and amenities provided we ask for a $500 deposit. Note: this hold is collected by the credit card processor STRIPE and on behalf of STAYINSARNIA. The hold will be released after 7 days.
Q: Does anyone else lives on premise?
A: Yes, The owners Robert & Ellan live upstairs and are usually available to be available to greet you. You will be notified if they need access to the apartment during your stay for any reason. On the same floor with you is another unit that might be occupied during your stay. Shared spaces are: front yard, driveway, on premise parking, basement entrace, staircase, landing, laundry room. Owner’s private spaces are (access can be arranged): backyard, pool, hot tub, BBQ. Off limit areas: private residence of owner (main floor, 2nd and 3rd floor). NOTE: we have young kids and a friendly dog ("Noah"), so you might hear us walking upstairs, however we try our best to be quiet and respectful as possible.
*PLEASE NOTE*: Garbage collection day is Monday, hence access to the house is needed to set garbage and recycling out on Sunday or early Monday. Housekeeping will arrive at 11am check-out time unless other arrangements are made at the time of booking or with enough advance notice. Robert & Ellan may arrive slightly ahead of housekeeping to oversee trainees, etc.
