The property no longer stocks farm animals, but there are wild birds! set on 20ha. The apartment is 850 sq ft. Totally self-contained and attached to the hosts property but completely private with independent access. There are two bedrooms one queen bedroom and a super king bedroom. in addition, we have a very comfortable fold out sofa bed. Living area has a log Burner and electric heater.

Home built aeroplanes, wild birds, nature walks, shops restaurants, and beautiful beaches are within minutes. Perfect home away from home, only 12 min to Otago University,10 minutes driving from the centre of Dunedin we are a lovely peaceful place.

My home is 16km, about a 20 minute drive from Dunedin city, along the scenic winding Portobello Road.

Your bedroom is in a detached room, adjacent to your private covered patio. Its about 6 steps from the covered patio and rest of three areas.
PLEASE NOTE: bedroom is detached from the rest of house it's not connected to the bathroom.
The lounge, kitchenette and bathroom are part of my house but sectioned off and very private. I am discreet.
If you are feeling like a soak after a day of exploring there is an outside bath to be enjoyed, there is nothing better on a starlit night. After your soak sleep peacefully in the comfortable queen sized bed.
Above the lounge up a ladder is a cozy little second sleeping area perfect for one person.

Continental breakfast is a basic continental, consisting of an assortment of NZ made cereals, bread, yoghurt, jams , orange juice, tea and coffee. Alternative dietary requirements must be the responsibility of the guests.

There is a basic kitchenette with a jug, toaster, a bar fridge and microwave, a 2 element hot plate and a small oven/grill/airfryer if you choose to cook.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no kitchen sink inside. There is a sink outside under cover which is easy to use, using the outdoor hose. It's basic but it works, hot and cold taps are provided outside.
The loft and kitcthenette and dining room are all in the one room.

PLEASE NOTE: my home backs onto native bush, so spider webs are a natural common occurrence. I do not spray my house, but do try to keep them under control as much as possible, so please keep this in mind. There will always be the odd one about, that's nature.

I can provide transport to and from the airport and into the city if required, petrol fees apply.

There are many local attractions such as Larnach Castle, The Royal Albatross Colony, Penguin Place, Yellow Eyed Penguins, Little Blue Penguins, sea lions, beautiful beaches, stunning views and bush walks.

You will have your own access and your own key to come and go as you please.

Larnach Castle can be accessed by walking from my home. It is a steep climb but very beautiful walk, can take about 45mins to an hour. You can drive via Castlewood road taking 12 minutes, (7.8km).
Walk out my drive and turn left and you can access Bacon track walking 5 mins down the road.
The Royal Albatross Colony is 19 min (14.2km) drive from my home. There you can explore and view the Albatross and Little Blue Penguin (Korora).
Penguin Place is 11.9km, where you can go on tours to view the Yellow Eyed Penguin.
Allans Beach is a 15min (8.7km) drive via Allans Beach Road. This is a magnificent scenic beach to see seals and wildlife.
Sandfly Bay (no sandflies) 15min drive, huge sand dunes, and wildlife spotting.
Sandymount walkway, spectacular views of Otago Peninsula coastline and cliff tops.
Wickliffe Beach (Victory beach), The Pyramids walkway, 17min drive, great walking, exploring and wildlife spotting. To name just a few.

Stay with us in beautiful Deborah Bay on our 7 acres lifestyle block.We are 64 meters up on the hill, the view is very nice. Our sleepout is a small but new, warm, well insulated 1 bedroom unit. We have the biggest, most comfortable bed ever. We offer a super king size mattress with freshly washed linen, dried by the southern wind. No kitchen, only a microwave, toaster and a fridge. Great quality bikes are available for rent. Only 18mins from Dunedin and 3 mins from caffees and shops.

The space
Our sleepout is a new, warm, well insulated 1 bedroom unit with a comfortable super king bed and your own bathroom. No kitchen but there are plates, cutlery, toaster, jug, small fridge in the room.

Nestled against remnant native bush, this location is nevertheless an easy 15 minute walk from the university and central Dunedin. 20 minutes to the Forsyth Barr Stadium. You will have your own private entry and can keep to yourself or feel free to pick the brains of your host, Chris. Photography is a favourite topic!

The cottage is situated in a very private and tranquil setting in a 5 acre (2 hectare) block of native bush and gardens yet is still close to town. The Cottage is a two bedroom fully contained dwelling. It's an older wooden cottage so it's basic and has a few quirks but it has all the amenities to keep you comfy and cosy for a short term or long term stay.

The space
The cottage is situated in a very private and tranquil setting in a 5 acre (2 hectare) block of native bush and gardens yet is still close to town. 10 mins by car to the City Centre. 20 minutes walk to university area through the botanic gardens. The nearest bus stop is only a few minutes walk.

The cottage is situated down a private drive, away from the street and about 50m from our family home. It is furnished, has fridge/freezer, oven and washing machine and heat pump. It is open plan with rooms off the main living area ie, kitchen, bathroom and 2 small bedrooms. There is a queen sized bed on one bedroom and a double bed in the other. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes. There is also a portable cot available on site. French doors from the lounge area on to small deck with an outdoor table and chairs. It is an old wooden cottage so it has a few creaks and quirks.

The cottage is set in its own garden but is largely unfenced and surrounded by native bush and forest. It is about 400m from the nearest public road.

Lots of wonderful things to do and see in Dunedin, Visit the only Castle in New Zealand, Larnach Castle. Take a tour through Olveston, a snapshot in time and a wonderful example of an old stately home. Take a trip down the peninsula and visit the Albatross Colony, say hello to the penguins. Check out our beautiful old University buildings, our Railway station, visit the Butterfly house at the Museum, Check out the early settlers museum, the botanic gardens which are only a few blocks away, and so much more.

The cottage is self contained and you can access the whole space. It includes a small private garden with a washing line and a deck which has a small table and chairs that catch the morning sun.
Guests are welcome to explore the rest of the 5 acre block which includes lots of really big trees, native bush and some large maintained lawns. Its set in a valley so some of the garden is on a slope and loses the sun early in winter.

Other things to note
The cottage is located in a beautiful forest filled with bird song. Due to this location there are some quirks.
Access is down a long 300m gravel driveway which is unsuitable for campervans. They will need to remain parked at the street entrance.
The trees hinder the television reception in the cottage which can be poor at times. A HDMI cable and Google Chromecast is provided so you can plug your computer or other media device into the TV.

Ideal for a peaceful overnight stop or short break. 30 minutes from Dunedin via Brighton, and 25 minutes from Dunedin airport via Waihola.

The bedroom contains a queen bed and standard cot. The two sofas in the lounge convert to double beds. If you need to use one or both beds in the lounge, sheets, pillows and quilts will be provided but you must convert the sofa to a bed yourself. The bathroom, with shower, vanity and toilet, is accessed via the bedroom and is shared by all guests. The kitchenette has a toaster, electric jug, microwave with rice cooker, Russell Hobbs electric multi-cooker, bar fridge, cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware and highchair.

The price for 2 guests is based on sharing the queen bed. Please inform us if bedding is needed for one or both fold-out beds in the lounge. We welcome service dogs and could accommodate horses by arrangement. A light breakfast of noodles or oatmeal is provided as well as milk, tea, hot chocolate, and plunger coffee. Kuri Bush beach is easily accessed across the road but is unsuitable for swimming.

There is as well as a spa pool, for guest use and we provide complimentary tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, and milk.

The modern ensuite bathroom has a large tiled shower with fantastic water pressure, and modern facilities including a heated towel rail.
The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. The kitchenette is also stocked with all crockery and cutlery as well as supplies for a hot drink.
The spa pool is for the sole use of the studio room so you can take your time and sit back and relax. There are instructions in the room and we are only a call or message away if you need a hand.

Please be mindful of this, particularly when using the laundry facilities. If this does occur, the trip switch is up at the main house and we have an alarm system which will alert us to flick this back on for you.

Main entrance for guests to use is the gate located on Playfair Street
(please do not use the side gate which is located on Hazel Avenue out of consideration for the tenant in 47a).

There is a two space car port at the rear of the property on Hazel Avenue, guests may use the right hand side spot only, otherwise there is plenty of on street parking

The rear of the property has a rotary clothes line for use of guests (the one closest to the unit only).

Other things to note
- A selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate is provided for the guests, but please bring your own milk.

- Netflix, etc is available on the Smart TV,but your own personal account is required to watch programming.

The space
My home is 16km, about a 20 minute drive from Dunedin city, along the scenic winding Portobello Road.
Your bedroom is a detached room adjacent from your private outdoor space. It is about 6 steps from the patio area. The lounge, kitchenette and bathroom are part of my house but are completely separate sectioned off and private. I am descreet.
French doors from the lounge and kitchenette open out to your private outdoor space to relax in. If you are feeling like a soak after a day of exploring there is an outside bath to be enjoyed, there is nothing better on a starlit night. After your soak sleep peacefully in the comfortable queen sized bed.
Above the lounge up a ladder is a cozy little loft space for one person to sleep .There is an extra cost of $50 per night for an extra third person
Continental breakfast is a basic continental, consisting of an assortment of NZ made cereals, bread, yoghurt, jams , orange juice, tea and coffee. Alternative dietary requirements must be the responsibility of the guests.
There is a basic kitchenette with a jug, toaster, a bar fridge and microwave, a 2 element hot plate and a small oven, grill air fryer, if you wish to cook
PLEASE NOTE: There is no inside kichen sink.
There are basic cleaning facilities, with a covered outdoor sink It is easy to operate as I have a hose with hot and cold taps outside.
The loft, kichenette and lounge are in all in the one room.
Please note my home backs onto native bush, so spider webs are a natural common occurrence. I do not spray my house, but do try to keep them under control as much as possible, so please keep this in mind. There will always be the odd one about, that's nature.
I can provide transport to and from the airport and into the city if required, petrol fees apply.
There are many local attractions such as Larnach Castle, The Royal Albatross Colony, Penguin Place, Yellow Eyed Penguins, Little Blue Penguins, sea lions, beautiful beaches, stunning views and bush walks. ENJOY 😊😇🙏

During your stay
I offer unobtrusive hospitality and am respectful of people's privacy and will leave you to unwind. I am available anytime to answer any questions and am happy to assist in making you stay as comfortable as possible.

Other things to note
Larnach Castle can be accessed by walking from my home. It is a steep climb but very beautiful walk, can take about 45mins to an hour. You can drive via Castlewood road taking 12 minutes, (7.8km).
Walk out my drive and you can access Bacon track walking 5 mins down the road.
The Royal Albatross Colony is 19 min (14.2km) drive from my home. There you can explore and view the Albatross and Little Blue Penguin (Korora).
Penguin Place is 11.9km, where you can go on tours to view the Yellow Eyed Penguin.
Allans Beach is a 15min (8.7km) drive via Allans Beach Road. This is a magnificent scenic beach to see seals and wildlife.
Sandfly Bay (no sandflies) 15min drive, huge sand dunes, and wildlife spotting.
Sandymount walkway, spectacular views of Otago Peninsula coastline and cliff tops.
Wickliffe Beach (Victory beach), The Pyramids walkway, 17min drive, great walking, exploring and wildlife spotting. To name just a few.

This harbour studio is Located on the water front with spectacular views day & night of the Otago Harbour and the city lights and Forsyth Stadium in the background, one of the best locations in Dunedin located in the cove at Vauxhall.

The space
This self-contained Studio room is a separate dwelling that has been built below a 1940's Art Deco house so it comes with great characteristics, privacy and your own deck with nice outdoor table to relax and soak the all-day sun and views, this is really a unique location.

Arden St House has 3 double bedrooms and 1 single and has an equipped kitchen for guests use. There is a covered deck and garden which is also available for guests. All guest bedrooms are up one flight of stairs.

Our ensuite bedroom has a shower hand basin and toilet. Lovely views, a table and fridge, there is also a modern shared equipped kitchen available.

Treat yourself to a special stay at this warm and welcoming unique library with views of the harbour, close to the city and university and near cycle / walkways. The building is separate from the main house at our property. Newly renovated, it's a rhapsody of wood and leadlight, and has its own bathroom and kitchenette; with high-spec insulation and heatpump/air-conditioning you will be perfectly cosy. Quality furnishings including leather couches, wool carpet and down duvet ensure your comfort.

The space
The space is a large (>50 sq m) area that is open plan except for the bathroom. We call this 'the library' because it has soft lighting and a floor-to-ceiling bookcase along one wall, with a ladder. The building is brick externally but lined internally with insulation and wood panelling. The conversion of the building (which was once a garage) was finished in 2023. The front window overlooks the harbour. The bed has a thick, pillow-topped mattress, high quality cotton sheets, and down duvet. Copper sinks made by skilled artisans feature in the kitchenette and bathroom, and leadlight lamps and windows bring a touch of colour. Original artworks line the walls.

You will have the entire cabin to yourselves. It is fully detached.

Although the cabin does not include iron, washing machine, or clothes dryer, please ask us if you require access to these items.

The cottage has it's own garden and lawn space to enjoy. While it is ideally suited to 2 persons, the couch bed is suitable for one adult, child, or 2 small children. If you wish to book for more than 3 people please submit a trip request so I can ensure it is suitable for your needs and we can negotiate rates depending on the nature of your stay, age of children etc.

Other things to note
We have a dog on the property. Boston, (staffie X) may bark and come to greet you if he sees you arrive. He is friendly and safe just say hello to him. He will visit you if encouraged but will leave you alone otherwise. Please let us know if you have any issues or if he is a nuisance.

The Sahara is centrally located within easy walking distance to Otago university, museum, hospital and Dunedin's central shopping district.There are many cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Off street parking is available.
The Sahara Guesthouse changed ownership in October 2020 and has been recently refurbished. It is a classic old Edwardian House built in 1906 with a Heritage Listing

Your room has a queen bed and a single bed with private ensuite. Tea/coffee facilities are in the guest lounge room along with a fridge and microwave. Also in the lounge room is a TV with 50 channels of SKY for your enjoyment.

Close to the waters edge, our sunny and charming self-contained guesthouse can sleep up to 5 guests.

The property is located in the small community of Broad Bay in the heart of the Otago Peninsula, a 20 min drive away from Dunedin and with easy access to all the Peninsula attractions.

The owners are a friendly family who can speak German. We love hosting guests from all around the world as much as we love to travel ourselves :-)

The space
The guesthouse is sunny and charming with a fully self-contained kitchen, a bathroom, and 2 separate bedrooms. Linen and towels + shampoo and soap are provided.

The bedroom with a queen sized bed overlooks our plentiful garden, where it is common to spot Tuis and Bellbirds in the trees. The other bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed at the base and can sleep up to 3 guests.

Just a short walk down a path from the garden is a tucked away rocky beach that forms during low tide where our children love to explore and catch crabs. It is possible to walk around the little half peninsula during low tide and see some beautiful exposed rock formations.

We have a large flat lawn for kids to play on as well as a trampoline to help them burn off some energy ;)

Guest access
The guesthouse is adjacent to the main house, but has its own separate entrance and keys provided for security. We have ample parking space if you happen to be travelling by van or motorhome.

Other things to note
The Otago Peninsula is known for its abundant wildlife including albatrosses, penguins, sea lions and seals as well as its magnificent wild beaches.
There are also several wonderful hikes and a couple that begin within walking distance from our property. A small public sandy beach for swimming and sunbathing is just a few minutes by foot as well.

Tips on local sights and attractions are happily provided - we love sharing our local knowledge with our guests so they get the most out of their stay on the Peninsula.

We kindly ask all visitors to respect the wildlife they encounter and keep an appropriate distance to not disturb them.

Well stocked for cooking and baking, plus a wide variety of teas and coffees. We'll leave you fresh breakfast staples like fresh bread, milk, and eggs to get you started (please note these aren’t replenished or prepared for you) and other options in the cupboard. Outside, there is a BBQ, with a gas bottle, utensils, large picnic table and plenty of seating.

Entertainment
Relax with Netflix and Freeview on the TV, and there's plenty of books, magazines, games, and puzzles. Even a piano if you’re feeling musical! For some fresh air, grab the yoga mats for a session under the trees or enjoy a walk around the garden and lawn.

Heating/cooling
The heatpump is great for convenient heating and cooling, but you can't beat the fireplace (plenty of dry firewood and fire starting material provided) on cooler days. The house is fully double-glazed and fitted with sheer curtains for privacy.

Bathroom
The bathroom includes a shower and toilet, and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Plenty of towels and toilet paper are provided for your entire stay.

Accessibilty
The spacious, level parking area is a short walk from the front door, perfect for rainy days or guests with mobility needs. Entry is via a 4” step with a wide 1m sliding door for easy access, and good outdoor lighting for arrival after dark.

Cleaning & Laundry
We use environmentally friendly, low-fragrance cleaning products.
While we can't provide a washing machine, there is a washing line, drying rack, basket, pegs, and washing powder, to make trips to the local laundromat easier.

Location
Just 3km from the centre of Mosgiel, Llanarth House is tucked away on a lifestyle property, set back well off the road, down a long driveway. The house sits approximately 50m behind our family home.

The garden and spacious lawn area surrounding the house is all yours to enjoy, but access to the farm, garage and second bedroom (locked to allow this cheaper rate) is not permitted.

You will have complete access to the air bnb accommodation and are welcome to explore the outdoor area of 2.7 hectares of native bush and hill top. There are pathways through the bush and up to the top of the hill where you will experience stunning 360 degree views.

Blanket Bay Barn provides accomodation for two people a place to escape from the pace of daily life. Located away from the main house with private parking directly outside. An open plan relaxed space with a sense of simplicity in a compact contemporary design . There’s a comfortable snug lounge a large coffee table and smart tv. Up the staircase is the Loft bedroom where there is a Queensized bed with Organic cotton mattress and luxurious linen and an opening skylight. Downstairs is the petite bathroom with roomy walk in shower , heated towel rail , quality towels and eco/ organic body products, shampoo and conditioner. Enjoy looking at and/or purchasing art from well known local artists that will be on display in the barn . The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, microwave , fridge/freezer, coffee plunger, jug and toaster. Complimentary breakfast of Muesli, eggs, bread , milk ,teas and freshly roasted coffee from our Roastery for you to enjoy in the mornings. For dining out options (as there is no oven )we recommend eating locally in Port Chalmers , The Carey’s Bay Hotel or Arc Brewing Co at Blue Skin Bay ( food trucks , pizzas etc ) .In Dunedin , Plato Restaurant for seafood menu, Bacchus Wine Bar , Two Chefs, No.7 Balmac or Titi , some of our finest. you'll be spoilt for choice.
