Relax after a long day exploring the beautiful Otago region in our gorgeous private cabin. Enjoy the views over the hills from high above Kaikorai Valley. We are in a quiet part of Dunedin but only a short drive (5 mins) into the main centre. We are in the main house but you have a private entrance and you have the cabin completely to yourselves. The cabin was completed in 2021 and is really warm and cosy. It comes with a kitchenette and private ensuite.

Enjoy a cosy and comfortable retreat, where nature surrounds you, yet the city conveniences are a short drive away.
With a private, securely fenced garden for dogs and children, you can relax and enjoy the indoor/outdoor flow.
Stunning rural and coastal views down to Blueskin Bay and beach.
You’re welcome to explore our 20 hectares with trails through our forests, with sounds of the Waitati River and the native birds filling the air. Do as much or as little as you like

The space
Kererū Farm, is set on a beautiful 20 hectares, and hosts Kererū Cottage and Kererū Guesthouse (with two queen bedrooms). Both pet friendly.

Kererū Cottage is separate and private with a cosy feel from which to enjoy the rural and sea views. Enjoy the wood burner in the comfortable living/dining room. Prepare a meal in the well equipped kitchen complete with 2 Induction hobs, Air Fryer Oven, Microwave, full size fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and all the other essentials.
Relax and soak in the views from the bedroom with queen bed and ensuite.
The bedroom includes a small double sofa bed suitable for children/single adult.
There is a Queen size sofa bed (with additional memory foam topper for your comfort) in the living room for extra guests.
The lounge also has another 3 seater sofa, smart TV, wifi, dining table and a range of board games, books and kids toys to keep everyone entertained.
Outside patio and seating with a fully fenced private garden. BBQ for outdoor dining.

We are rural so be prepared for nightly wildlife sounds, insects, windy tree and chimney sounds at times and amazing dark starry nights.

Please refrain from smoking, preparing/cooking fish or spicy foods.

Guest access
Sole use of the cottage that is adjacent but separate from Kererū Guesthouse and the main farmhouse without being overlooked. Parking at the door and easy access to the private garden and our forest trails beyond. The cottage will be unlocked for your arrival or instructions will be given.

Local shop and great cafes just 5 mins drive in Waitati. Doctors Point Beach and Warrington Beach 10-15 minute drive (both dog friendly)
The Leith Saddle and Mount Cargill walking tracks are just up the road.
Along with Sullivans Dam for a tranquil fishing spot or the popular Orokonui Ecosanctuary.
Dunedin is just a 15 minutes drive with all the supermarkets, restaurants, historic buildings and access to the peninsula, including the Royal Albatross Centre and Penguin viewing, stunning Sandfly Bay with resident Sealions.

On site dog training or behaviour consultations are also available during your stay through Allsorts Dog Training.
