We stayed in the Cayuga room, which has high ceilings and a modest amount of natural light. The furniture arrangement felt slightly... a desk or other table surface where one could write or work on the computer would go a long way. Brunch was delicious and generous. The hosts have excellent knowledge of the area and positive relationships with local businesses, so we made use of several of their vintner dicounts. Please note that guest rooms are accessed throughout the stay, and if you would prefer not to return to your room to find your personal items rearranged and moved, you may need to let the hosts know. The only factor that slightly detracted from our stay was the level of cleanliness. In additon to leak residue on the ceilings, debris around the edges of the room, spills on the carpet, and long-dead bugs, we also found used hair ties and water bottle caps on our bedroom floor in front of the chairs, indicating that the room isn’t thoroughly vacuumed between guests. Overall the stay was comfotable, and we were well atrended to throughout our stay. We hope to be back some day!"

The space
The LYH has a wood burning stove. In the cold weather you will need to keep it going. The small electric baseboard heaters keep the place from freezing. In winter we often do not get plowed out until late night or the next morning. Four wheel drive a good clearance is a must.

In addition to the cottage, we have three guest rooms in the big house. Guests are welcome to walk around the property and help themselves to fruit (black caps, currants, grapes, apples, etc.) in season. The Great Pyranees guardian dog, Griffy, is along with the chickens, ducks and our three black cats, Puffy, Toughie, and Sir Nigel Pynchon (Pynchie for short) roam the property. There is a grill outside the cottage for your use.

One of our best features is the spectacular, clear view of Seneca Lake from the lounge-dining room or the decks. You will be treated to amazing sunsets almost nightly. And at night, you will retire to a lovely room with an ensuite bath. Morning brings coffee and simple continental breakfast.

Guests will have use of the lovely, spacious lounge-dining area as well as the massive decks and yard, all facing the lake. Although we are a lakefront property, there is no water access.

Linda and I live in this BnB all year round. We have had hundreds of guests from all over the world. We enjoy interacting with guests but always give them space as needed. It is a big house with massive decks and easy to find a "corner of your own."

The Maple Room features is one of our largest rooms and features a queen bed, ample closet space, and a shared bathroom with a walk-in shower.
