We have a gate leading out to a park which has a newly developed walking path or if you prefer head off for a morning jog. The Highton shopping precinct is nearby and has some great cafes, a supermarket, chemist, a bank and take away food. We are a 10 minute drive to the city centre and a 20 minute drive to Torquay beach.

The guest house is separate from the main house and accessed via the carport gate. It has its own private entrance and a court yard, where you can enjoy an early morning coffee, breathe in some fresh air or read a book. Please make yourself at home. Please note, please advise if your check in is later than 9 pm.

The cottage overlooks the rear section of our property, with a view extending across southern Geelong through to Bass Strait. Relax spotting ships passing, wind down with the antics of wild rabbits, or simply kick back and take it all in.

We are near the Ring Road so we do get road noise, particularly during the day and peak times, however, nights are considerably quieter with minimal to no traffic. For guests comfort the cottage features double glazing and high density insulation, making inside a quieter space at any time.

Only two minutes’ drive onto Geelong Ring Road, for easy access of the Freeway to Melbourne or Surf Coast, less than five minutes’ drive to Highton shopping precincts, and only 15 minutes’ drive to Geelong CBD. If you enjoy walking, the Barwon River and Buckley Water Falls are only 20-25minutes walk or less than five minutes drive.
The space
The granny is a two storey building attached to the main house. It has its own private entrance and an interconnecting door to the main house. For your privacy, this door will be locked and it is well insulated to block any noise from the main house and vice versa. However, we do not guarantee absolute soundproof. We will do our best to respect your quiet moment and we ask the same of you. The living area and kitchen are at ground level, and large bedroom with ensuite at the top level, so you will need to walk up and down the stairs.
You will access the private entrance to the granny by walking through the driveway to a locked side gate on the right hand side as you face the main building. A sidewalk through the locked gate leads to the private entrance door to the granny. You will have free on-street parking. Please do not park on the driveway.
You will have your own laundry space with washing machine, and access to outside clothes line. Indoor clothes rack is also provided. There is a dedicated workspace and there is a small backyard with garden (fenced) for your private relaxations in the early mornings and evenings.
On arrival, you will be provided complimetary essential amenities like soap, shampoo, dishwashing/laundry detergents, tea/coffee/full cream milk and sugar. There will be no ongoing supplies of these amenities for short stay. For long stay (1 month or more), we will replenish these amenities once per month.

You will access the private entrance to the granny through the right sidewalk, past a glass sliding door (part of main building). This sidewalk may be shared occasionally with the host and other people (rarely to ensure your privacy).
Keys will be placed in a secure key safe located on the right hand side gate (as you face the property). Prior to your check-in (24-48 hours), details will be sent out with code to the key safe.

The property is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, so we are confident you will enjoy your stay with peace and quiet. We do ask in reciprocal, that you respect the neighbourhood and abide by the designated quiet time rule.

The space
The Chalet is one of two and is located behind a Restored 1920s Geelong Home surrounded by a cottage garden only 100m from the water views of Corio bay : between Rippleside and Eastern Beach.
Guest access
You will have access to your Chalet but not to the adjoined Chalet unless booked together. (A great option for families or friends) This Chalet is a more cosy space and doesn’t have a bench for food prep. It has a great fridge/small freezer for storing fresh food and ready made meals, and a microwave/toaster/kettle.
The only shared area is the outdoor patio area which can be used during daylight hours to enjoy outdoor dining. However, you will probably prefer to walk 100m and have a picnic overlooking the water. Outdoor cooking facilities will be added in the near future.

Location Location : Only 100m from the waterfront and 400 m from Geelong’s largest coffee and shopping strip: Packington Street.
A Gourmet & Fresh Food Market with international grocerie is 20 min stroll away and Woolworths is even closer.
Dine Out: Enjoy a large range of cuisines offered at either Pakington Street, Little Malop Street or the Waterfront (no more than 2km away).
Exercise: Jog, cycle or walk the esplanade, swim or paddle board at Eastern Beach. Play Golf at Geelong Golf Course.
The Melbourne Ferry and The Geelong Railway Station are both only 1.5km away.
Your room at the rear of this quaint 1870 bluestone cottage is private and secluded. Enjoy linen bed sheets, plump pillows and French doors framing the view of a magnificent walnut tree within your courtyard area. Beyond, free range chooks wander the garden. A short stroll to The Paper Mill (includes Provenance Winery, gallery + more), Barwon river walks and bike trails linking to Queenscliff. 15 min drive to Geelong centre. The Surf Coast beaches and Bellarine all easy day trips.
The space
A comfortable bedroom with ensuite. It is privately accessed at rear of cottage with its own verandah and fenced courtyard space. Cupboard space , full length mirror, toaster, kettle and mini fridge. Cereal and toast for breakfast. Tea, coffee and condiments provided. Netflix, free to air LG TV.

Guests access a private small verandah and courtyard area under the walnut tree with garden, bedroom and private ensuite.

Other things to note
Please note the beautiful old walnut tree that shades your courtyard area drops walnuts in late summer and autumn. A large market umbrella is provided to ensure you are shielded from the walnuts to comfortably utilise the outdoor table and chairs. White sulphur crested cockatoos love to feast on the walnuts and do drop them sometimes. Please put up umbrella, a just in case precaution!
At night you may hear walnuts falling or the local brushtail possums playing on the roof or simply travelling around their territory. We love the wildlife and hope you will too!

It is suitable for two couples or a family. It is 15 minutes from Geelong and centrally located on the Bellarine Peninsular, close to the Queenscliff ferry, wineries, surf beaches, Adventure Park, and all the other attractions around the peninsular.

Our apartment is an independent building, but close enough to our house if you need any help or advice. It has two large bedrooms, a spacious lounge, and a well appointed kitchen. Welcome to The Morrison Stables, a piece of Geelong history.
Built in 1855, the main residence was originally a pub and is heritage listed (now occupied by our family). The stables have been converted into a cosy 2 bedroom guesthouse including wifi, smart tv, split system heating/cooling, a Bluetooth speaker and secure off street parking.
The street is incredibly quiet, a pleasant surprise considering the close (walking distance) proximity to Geelong’s CBD, Waterfront and GMHBA stadium.
The space
The secure off street parking area is the only shared space, with private access directly into the guesthouse- it is completely separate to the main residence.
Exposed brick with cathedral ceilings, the stables have retained much of their heritage character and charm.
The small kitchenette includes a basic cooktop, bar fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave, however guests are encouraged to take advantage of the many nearby restaurants, cafes and delivery options.
Both bedrooms feature queen beds fitted with quality stonewashed linen, supima cotton towels and wardrobes with plenty of storage for a comfortable stay. If 1-2 guests sharing a bed are booked, 1 bed will be made up for the stay.
Outdoor seating, a comfy couch, smart TV with access to streaming services, a bluetooth speaker and novels on hand ensure you can unwind inside the stables; however we're guessing with so much on offer close by, you probably wont spend much time sitting around.
A wonderful central location, a walk in any direction will land you somewhere of interest. Excellent cafes and a pub within 200 meters, or a slightly longer walk to:

An electric gate leads into a large shared space on the property including an undercover carport, a locked garden shed (not accessed by guests), a vegetable garden (guests are welcome to help themselves to anything growing), a closed gate leading into the private residence (not accessed by guests), and the stables themselves.
A small table and chairs sit in front of the stables for use by guests, and the entrance into the apartment is in the same area. You may see us arriving or leaving if we have parked in the shared space, however the rest of the apartment has been set up to ensure both yours and our privacy.
