Artists, Leigh and Gracie constantly add new, creative elements to the space and surrounds.

3.5km/5min drive to Deakin Uni & the Epworth Hospital, 2km/3min drive to local shop, 2.5km/4min drive to the ring road, 21km/25min drive to Surf Coast beaches. Safe & quiet neighbourhood. Late arrivals, after 9pm, need approval when booking.

The space
We have a gate leading out to a park which has a newly developed walking path or if you prefer head off for a morning jog. The Highton shopping precinct is nearby and has some great cafes, a supermarket, chemist, a bank and take away food. We are a 10 minute drive to the city centre and a 20 minute drive to Torquay beach.

Guest access
The guest house is separate from the main house and accessed via the carport gate. It has its own private entrance and a court yard, where you can enjoy an early morning coffee, breathe in some fresh air or read a book. Please make yourself at home. Please note, please advise if your check in is later than 9 pm.

Other things to note
Remember you are staying at our place and not a hotel, so please treat our place with respect. We are happy to attend to any problems asap and can be contacted directly at the property or via Airbnb.

Luxuriate in "Rainbows End's" magically colourful private bungalow with attached kitchenette and huge bedroom featuring a king bed and the hosts whimsical art, sculptures and spectacular stain glass windows. Sip a lovely coffee from the espresso machine and take a 15min trip to local surf beaches or 1 minutes drive to bustling high street and a host of great eateries and the Barwon river. Rainbows end is beyond unique and is the labour of love by your hosts Leigh and Gracie.

Tucked away on our 1.25 acre property, it’s a unique hideaway just 15mins from the Geelong CBD and within easy reach of Deakin, Epworth, Mt Duneed Estate, and GMHBA Stadium. Only 20 mins to Torquay and a 5min drive to shops and takeaways.

With quick M1 access, it’s a great base to explore the Geelong region, Surf Coast, and the Great Ocean Road.

The space
The cottage overlooks the rear section of our property, with a view extending across southern Geelong through to Bass Strait. Relax spotting ships passing, wind down with the antics of wild rabbits, or simply kick back and take it all in.

Inside the decor is warm and inviting, highlighted with colourful images showcasing the Geelong waterfront's iconic bollards to add a charming, and very local touch.

The cottage features a bedroom with a queen-size bed where even the pillow and mattress protectors are fresh on for every stay; an open-plan kitchen and lounge where you can cook an easy meal or just relax; and your own private bathroom facilities. Split-system heating and cooling, along with double glazing, provide all year round comfort.

We are near the Ring Road so we do get road noise, particularly during the day and peak times, however, nights are considerably quieter with minimal to no traffic. For guests comfort the cottage features double glazing and high density insulation, making inside a quieter space at any time.

We accommodate a maximum of two guests only, cottage is not suitable or set up to accommodate infants or children.

Due to allergies and the comfort of all guests we adhere to a strict no-pet policy.

Escape to a quiet granny with great view of Barwon Head and Ocean Grove. Equipped for your comfort with everything that is simple, uncomplicated, and practical. Only two minutes’ drive onto Geelong Ring Road, for easy access of the Freeway to Melbourne or Surf Coast, less than five minutes’ drive to Highton shopping precincts, and only 15 minutes’ drive to Geelong CBD. If you enjoy walking, the Barwon River and Buckley Water Falls are only 20-25minutes walk or less than five minutes drive.

The space
The granny is a two storey building attached to the main house. It has its own private entrance and an interconnecting door to the main house. For your privacy, this door will be locked and it is well insulated to block any noise from the main house and vice versa. However, we do not guarantee absolute soundproof. We will do our best to respect your quiet moment and we ask the same of you. The living area and kitchen are at ground level, and large bedroom with ensuite at the top level, so you will need to walk up and down the stairs.

You will access the private entrance to the granny by walking through the driveway to a locked side gate on the right hand side as you face the main building. A sidewalk through the locked gate leads to the private entrance door to the granny. You will have free on-street parking. Please do not park on the driveway.

You will have your own laundry space with washing machine, and access to outside clothes line. Indoor clothes rack is also provided. There is a dedicated workspace and there is a small backyard with garden (fenced) for your private relaxations in the early mornings and evenings.

On arrival, you will be provided complimetary essential amenities like soap, shampoo, dishwashing/laundry detergents, tea/coffee/full cream milk and sugar. There will be no ongoing supplies of these amenities for short stay. For long stay (1 month or more), we will replenish these amenities once per month.

Guest access
You will access the private entrance to the granny through the right sidewalk, past a glass sliding door (part of main building). This sidewalk may be shared occasionally with the host and other people (rarely to ensure your privacy).

Keys will be placed in a secure key safe located on the right hand side gate (as you face the property). Prior to your check-in (24-48 hours), details will be sent out with code to the key safe.

Other things to note
The property is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, so we are confident you will enjoy your stay with peace and quiet. We do ask in reciprocal, that you respect the neighbourhood and abide by the designated quiet time rule.

We provides a full size kitchen with cooking utensils such as pots, pans, and a full size refrigerator.
