The space
Beautiful cottage farmhouse decor. The space is an open 400 sq feet of charm, with 3/4 bath and closet. From the bedroom window, you can enjoy the picturesque view of the original granary, stone barn with silos, apple trees and towering maples. As well, we have 4 resident goats and 7 chickens on the property. Some of the things that are most important to me when I travel are soft high quality linens, a clean environment and natural products -- all these are essentials in our Milkhouse cottage. I provide a mini fridge stocked with beverages and a coffee machine with organic coffee and grinder, tea and snacks, iron, ironing board and a hair dryer for your convenience.

Welcome to Still Point Tiny House, perfect for one or two people. With its comfy memory foam full-size bed, sitting/dining area, and kitchenette, you will have everything you need in a cozy, yet surprisingly open space. Just steps across your brick patio is our studio which houses a private full bathroom.

Actually inspired by our 1963 Friendship Vacationaire vintage canned ham travel trailer, we were able to design and build in only 108 square feet everything you need for luxury comfort in a tiny space: a place to sleep, to sit, to eat, and to prepare meals.

As a three seasons building, during non-freezing weather it has running cold water to a small double sink. The kitchenette also features a refrigerator, a high quality double burner hot plate, fresh well water for drinking, stainless steel counter, cookware, utensils, pour-over coffee maker, and charming vintage style dinnerware.

The kitchen makes it easy to prepare simple meals, while just steps away onto the main house deck is a gas grill. We ask that you not cook potentially messy, smelly, or splattering foods like bacon or fish in such a small space (…lessons we learned the hard way in our camper).

For your comfort in the building there are both a space heater and air conditioner to moderate temperature extremes. There is also a quiet variable speed exhaust fan to pull fresh cool air through open windows. The bedside lighting and chandelier are fully dimmable, and the patio side windows have privacy shades.

We have excellent WiFi, and you will appreciate the built-in USB chargers for cell phones and other devices.

Even though it may be tiny, there are cubbies to store dry food and personal items, and room under the bed for a suitcase or bag. There is also plenty of space in the large studio bathroom for some of your personal items.

You will enjoy the nearby flower and veggie gardens and lounging on your own patio away from the larger deck near the main house (which you are welcome to enjoy) as well as a campfire circle. Perhaps you will want to experience the outdoor shower near the upper gardens and deck (…an often praised feature by our guests).

The view beyond the south windows is the head of one of our two small trails, so nice to explore for their peacefulness. Whether springtime for the migrating birds and flowering redbud trees, early summer for the blackcap wild raspberries, the late summer wildflowers, or the autumn colors, there is always natural beauty just outside your door.

While visiting, you will have access to a private bathroom in the adjacent studio building, as well as the outdoor public spaces including the main deck, fire circle, outdoor shower (privacy signaled with a flag system), and our two small walking trails through the woods.

Our part of Southern Wisconsin offers many attractions, including some of the nicest outdoor activitites in the country. Come to bike on our quiet roads, hike our trails, paddle our streams and rivers, and explore our quaint small towns.
