HOUSE RULES
Guests are required to sign our Rental Agreement per the NC Vacation Rental Act within 3 days of booking or 24 hours before arrival, whichever is earliest. Guests are required to provide a photo ID upon request.
Security deposit required - $300 hold to be authorized on guest’s credit card by host 2 days prior to arrival and released within 5 days of departure if no issues.
Refunds will not be offered for any reason outside of the cancellation window. Please purchase trip insurance to protect your trip.
Not safe or suitable for infants or children. NO pets - our family dog is not always compatible with other pets.
NO parties or events of any kind. STRICT maximum of 2 guests.
Smoking is not permitted inside the listing. "Smoking" includes the use of tobacco, marijuana, e-cigarettes, etc.
Parking for up to 2 standard vehicles is available off the circle next to the sign "Tree Escape Parking". Trucks and trailers come and go regularly from our home so please leave the main driveway and circle clear. You may park at the bottom of the stairs for temporarily while unloading or loading your vehicle.
The main home on the property, fenced in back yard, front yard, garage and storage area behind the garage are all part of our private residence and are not accessible to guests.
Quiet hours of 10pm to 8am are strictly enforced.

The entire upper story guest house is available for guests including the deck. Guests also have access to an outdoor shower, which is shared with our family. Please bring your own beach towels.
There is also a designated parking area for 2 cars on the grounds. There is a lock with a keypad for easy self check-ins.

Allow us to share the peace of our home with you while visiting the charming town of Southport! Our guest cottage is set back from our home allowing you total privacy. It is spacious and best suited for 2 - 3 adults or a small family. You will enjoy the calm setting and new construction as well as the easy access to downtown. You will also be less than 10 miles from the beautiful ocean beaches of Oak Island and Caswell Beach.
The space
The cottage is an open floor plan with one queen size bed and one twin bed with a trundle pull out. There is no oven/stove, but there is a microwave, toaster, air fryer and access to an outdoor grill. You will have full privacy to an outdoor patio with seating and a pool table. Owners may at times use the opposite side patio. You will be notified if this occurs. We do have a friendly dog that enjoys exploring the yard. If you have any concerns about seeing him around the yard, please notify us.

Access is by key pad on the side, patio door. You will be given the code and instructions before your arrival.

Welcome to a cozy tribute to John, an original owner of the Carriage House Inn and a Rochester, New York native. It may be our smallest room, but it's packed with charm and character. The space features elegant stained-glass transoms and original artwork of central park, along with a matching 18th-century desk and dresser set. There is a queen bed and the full bathroom includes a tub/shower combo and keeps its original 1930s black and white mosaic tile flooring.

The "Pinehurst" room pays tribute to the iconic Pinehurst Golf Course, a key piece of American golf history since 1895. This room reflects Pinehurst's storied past and the classic design of its renowned Course No. 2 by Donald Ross and has its own putting game in the room. The room contains a queen bed. This room also includes a full bathroom and is the only room with a walk-in shower. The original 1930s green bathroom tile inspired the golf theme.

The Yaupon Beach Room is a tribute to Yaupon Beach which was located on Oak Island. It's named for Amy, one of the original owners who grew up there. The Yaupon Room has a queen bed with views of the back yard, carriage house, and ancient oak trees. With its natural beach colors, coastal furniture, seashells, and beach-themed decor, the room feels like a peaceful seaside getaway. It has a full bathroom with a classic tub/shower combo. The original 1930s pink tile inspired the beach theme.

The "Capeside" room is a tribute to the nearby Capeside Brewery in Southport. This name also captures the essence of Southport, a picturesque harbor town by the Cape Fear River and the ocean. Decorated with a nautical theme, complete with coastal art, and a view of the Cape Fear River, this room has two queen beds for trips with friends or family.
