The cottage is located one block from the main downtown area within walking distance of restaurants, shops and inter coastal waterways. Lots of parking. Can accommodate up to 6 cars or 4 cars and fishing boat and trailer. You can sit on the front porch swing or rocking chairs and listen to bands on Thursday night when playing in Franklin Square Park. If this is your first trip to Historic Southport, you are in for such a treat. If you are returning, we all know why. This is the place to take you back in time in so many ways, small hometown feel, residents here are unbelievable friendly, the scenery is gorgeous, beautiful oak trees, many quaint shops, lots of good food and so many historic sites to see. You are couple blocks away from the Cape Fear River, Provisions and Fishy Fishy Restaurants and more. Southport Marina is just a few blocks away if it is boating you like. And then there are the Ferrys that will take you to Bald Head Island, Carolina Beach and Fort Fisher. If it is the beach you are looking for, we have that too, Oak Island is just 10 minutes away. This is the place you want to be and the place you will want to come back to.

- "Loved it!" - "My husband and I have been coming to Southport for as many years. I have been coming to Oak Island since childhood. I remember it still as Long Beach. We never stayed in Southport till this trip. We fell in love with this quaint river side town. The cottage was so well appointed and decorated with lots of nautical beachy theme throughout . The kitchen was nicely stocked with anything you need. We only uesd the master bedroom since just 2 of us. The bed was very comfortable. The fenced backyard was extra nice for us since we brought our fur baby. She loved having the freedom to roam around without leash. It was nice having washer and dryer to wash your personal items if needed. The Front porch was so nice to have coffee and rock in rocking chairs. The surrounding oak trees are just magnificent. As the day passes each tree gives a different appearance depending on how sun hits it. They are even pretty in the foggy early mornings. The cottage is very close to downtown and parks. I took early morning walks with my dog down to water front park . There are many restaurants within walking distance of cottage also. We had a great time the week we stayed here in August. We would drive over to Oak Island on the days we wanted to take dog out on beach. The drive to closet beach (Caswell Beach) is only about 10 minutes. Now that I'm older we don't spend as much time in the sun. So we enjoyed all the shade trees surrounding Southport. We hope to return to this cottage again soon !"

Guests are required to sign our Rental Agreement per the NC Vacation Rental Act within 3 days of booking or 24 hours before arrival, whichever is earliest. Guests are required to provide a photo ID upon request.

Security deposit required - $300 hold to be authorized on guest’s credit card by host 2 days prior to arrival and released within 5 days of departure if no issues.

Refunds will not be offered for any reason outside of the cancellation window. Please purchase trip insurance to protect your trip.

Parking for up to 2 standard vehicles is available off the circle next to the sign "Tree Escape Parking". Trucks and trailers come and go regularly from our home so please leave the main driveway and circle clear. You may park at the bottom of the stairs for temporarily while unloading or loading your vehicle.

The main home on the property, fenced in back yard, front yard, garage and storage area behind the garage are all part of our private residence and are not accessible to guests.

Enjoy eating outside on the screened porch that includes a dining table for 6 plus additional seating, and a gas grill just off the outside door. Books, games, & cards are available for both children & adults. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, blender, filtered water, electric teapot, and coffee maker (single serve & 12 cup pot). Enjoy your morning coffee or favorite beverage while seated in the rockers on the front porch. There is also a large laundry room with stackable washer and dryer. - "Wonderful" - "My husband & I recently stayed at this condo for 3 nights and had a wonderful time.The condo was very clean and the view of from the condo was amazing. The complex was perfect, the little beach area and outdoor seating near the water was an added plus.The condo was set up like an efficiency - full size frig, microwave, a couple stove top burners, coffee pot, and all the kitchen pots/pans, dishes you needed.Our hosts left 2 boxes of goodies for us - one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. The little treats and supplies were perfect (soaps, shampoos, water, popcorn, etc).The bed was very comfortable.The only minor issues: the shower door stuck a bit so opening/closing it was loud. It would also be nice to have blackout shades/curtains. There is an outdoor light on the building that is on all night and quite bright.Overall though it was a perfect place to stay. Another nice feature is that it is close to the main area of Southport. Although it is a short walk from the complex to the main Southport shopping & restaurant area, we only did that once as there is about .25 mile on a busy section of road with no sidewalk.The drive from the complex to Southport's downtown area was 2 mins. We found ample parking in town and it was easy to park once and wander around.I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Southport, NC."

Sit in swing in driveway and feel the ocean breezes with a peek-a-boo view of water at end of street. Enjoy fire pit. 2 miles from ferry to Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island - 10 minutes from quiet, uncrowded Oak Island and Caswell Beaches. Come experience Southport from my quiet home nestled under the oaks. This is where I had my daughter, raised chickens and walked the waterfront for 20 years. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we have. I have tried to make it comfortable and welcoming - and furnished with everything you will need on your stay. To the left of the home you will find the bedrooms. The first bedroom has two beds in it. A queen bed, a twin bed, and trundle underneath are all there with full linens. This room has a Smart TV so you can escape for a bit or have a place for the kids to watch a movie! The Primary bedroom is closer to the back of the home where there is a queen bed and an en suite. This room and bathroom are very spacious. Enjoy an amazing CLAWFOOT bathtub and walk in shower on your relaxing evenings in this luxury retreat!

In the back of the home, you have access to a modern full bath and laundry room! There you will also find some beach essentials like a chair, cooler and more.

Outback we have a FULLY fenced backyard with a firepit, seating, and a table. Its a great place to hang with the family, enjoy meals, or have a little fire in the evening. It really helps you have your private space back there and make your life easier if you are traveling with kids or pets!

Guests will have access to the entire home, there is no shared areas. We want you to treat it as your own and be comfortable. We are here to assist in any way we can.

Guests are required to sign our Rental Agreement per the NC Vacation Rental Act within 3 days of booking or 24 hours before arrival, whichever is earliest. Guests are required to provide a photo ID upon request.

Security deposit required - $300 hold to be authorized on guest’s credit card by host 2 days prior to arrival and released within 5 days of departure if no issues.

Refunds will not be offered for any reason outside of the cancellation window. Please purchase trip insurance to protect your trip.

Not safe or suitable for infants or children. NO pets - our family dog is not always compatible with other pets.

Parking for up to 2 standard vehicles is available off the circle next to the sign "Tree Escape Parking". The main home on the property, fenced in back yard, front yard, garage and storage area behind the garage are all part of our private residence and are not accessible to guests.

Quiet hours of 10pm to 8am are strictly enforced.

Owners may at times use the opposite side patio. You will be notified if this occurs. We do have a friendly dog that enjoys exploring the yard. You are welcome to sit on our large covered porch, but you should be comfortable with dogs as they may greet you. Our home is attached but you have your own private entrance and we cannot access your suite from our home.

Due to a recent comment from a guest, I want to make it clear that this space consists of a bedroom with a king bed, full bathroom, walk in closet and coffee bar. There is a small table with two chairs inside the suite. It does not have a sofa or lounge area. I would say it is a nice hotel suite!

No Smoking Policy:
Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including all indoor and outdoor areas. Violations will result in a $200 cleaning fee.

Pet Policy:
We understand that traveling with your furry friend is essential! If you plan to bring a pet, please mention it in your booking. A flat fee of $120 applies per stay. The fee will still be charged if a pet is not disclosed in advance.

Grill Usage:
If you use the grill, please clean it afterward. If the grill is not cleaned, a $30 fee will be applied upon inspection by our cleaning crew.

Two-bedrooms and one full bath snuggled in a small charming riverside community. It is just 3 miles from the heart of downtown Southport, and 1.5 miles from the Fort Fisher Ferry which is a can't miss experience. There are two bikes available for those who wish to venture that way. You will absolutely enjoy the tranquil feel of the premises, surrounded out front by a gorgeous wooded field with plenty of deer and a view into the depths of the Cape Fear River Basin from the back yard.

You will have a private entrance as you go up the side stairs into the first bedroom which contains two single beds, fridge/microwave and tv. You then enter a large full bathroom with tub and shower. In the back is the master bedroom with a queen bed and cable TV. There are doors on both sides of the bathroom for full privacy. Also down the stairs you will have access to a large screened in porch with a dining table if you would like to have a meal outside. A BBQ grill (propane) would be provided upon request.

There are two beautiful water views from the house and backyard. Keep in mind we are one lot back from the water, so there is NO direct water access. However the Southport/Oak Island area is filled with public water access points (public piers, beaches, parks, marinas, fishing areas, etc).

Lastly, I encourage everyone to enjoy their stay here at the house, and see all that the Southport area offers. Make sure to get to the beaches, the shops, the boat rides, the concerts, the fishing, the museums, the aquarium, etc. And don't leave without experiencing a burger at Fat Andy's and a frozen eskimo at Spike's Ice Cream.

You will have private access to the Black Drum camper, as well as full access to the entire campground property. This includes the community gathering place and fire pit, the sun deck, the bathhouse, and the coin-operated laundry room. You can also ride our free shuttle to the beaches of Oak Island or enjoy hop on/hop off rides on the Southport trolley.

Arrivals after 6pm must be coordinated in advance with the Hosts.

The space
The Southport Salty Patriot sits in a cozy neighborhood right outside of downtown Southport. As you pull up to the home you will see our red, white, and blue home that was the inspiration for the name! There is a gravel drive to the right where you can park. You will then enter through the red door on the HUGE front porch!

As you enter the home, you will see that it has an open layout that is great for hosting your crew. Easy to entertain and stay connected through the stay. On your right will be the living area where there is a giant sectional for your movie nights or naps after the beach! The home has a Smart TV for all your viewing needs. This living space is open to the dining area that has a large table for your meals or game nights! On the other side of the dining area is a bar which is part of the fully loaded kitchen! This kitchen is ready to roll for you and has tons of space for all your cooking needs.

To the left of the home you will find the bedrooms. The first bedroom has two beds in it. A queen bed, a twin bed, and trundle underneath are all there with full linens. This room has a Smart TV so you can escape for a bit or have a place for the kids to watch a movie! The Primary bedroom is closer to the back of the home where there is a queen bed and an en suite. This room and bathroom are very spacious. Enjoy an amazing CLAWFOOT bathtub and walk in shower on your relaxing evenings in this luxury retreat!

In the back of the home, you have access to a modern full bath and laundry room! There you will also find some beach essentials like a chair, cooler and more.

Outback we have a FULLY fenced backyard with a firepit, seating, and a table. Its a great place to hang with the family, enjoy meals, or have a little fire in the evening. It really helps you have your private space back there and make your life easier if you are traveling with kids or pets!

Cape Fear Fitness is a 6,000-square-foot gym that features double cardio decks with flat screen TV’s, free weights, 2 multi-purpose rooms, large locker rooms and even a smoothie bar. Up to four rental guests per property per day have access to the gym during normal business hours. For participating properties, a property specific barcode will allow access to the gym during normal business hours. Personal training sessions and group classes (yoga, steps, spinning and more) are available throughout the week for an additional fee.
