- "I was looking for a place that my family and our dog could enjoy without the summer crowds. Windswept certainly delivered beyond our expectations. We fished all day, walked the beach for shells and enjoyed the water toys. My older children enjoyed bike rides in the evening exploring the neighborhood. The house is older, but that is part of the charm. Our evenings were spent in the screened in porch enjoying the nice ocean breeze. We enjoyed dinner at Patty's which is right down the street. Our kids loved going to Davis Shore Provisions for souvenirs and pie! This was the most relaxing vacation we ever took and can't wait to return. The owners were excellent with communication as well."

This amazing tucked-away rental sports the most incredible sunrise in Carteret County as it rises over Harkers Island bridge. Life is slower here where the egrets fish in the marsh and dolphins play as the tide lazily rolls in. This 1800-sq-ft comfortable cottage has been recently renovated and boasts three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, full capacity laundry room, and spacious living and entertaining areas, including two outdoor decks for additional leisure. Amazing Home! Immaculate, beautiful, and welcoming
"We had the best family vacation at this home. It is immaculate! The kitchen is stocked with EVERYTHING you need. There are indoor and outdoor games for kids and adults. We enjoyed fishing off the dock in the evening. The beach access is only a few minutes away and the outdoor shower was wonderful upon return. we enjoyed watching the most beautiful sunrises in the morning with our coffee and ended the nights with a bike ride during sunset on the beach bikes they provided. We ate at a few great restaurants nearby and enjoyed downtown Beaufort one afternoon. We can't wait to book another vacation at this wonderful property!"

"Bliss is Right!"
"If I could have written a review upon arrival I would have. This is the kind of property that is nothing but top of the line. Beautifully decorated home. A "Great" great room. Spacious kitchen that had everything we normally have to bring from home. Comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Wonderful view of the north river and Harker's Island. And did I mention quiet? Wow. We are fishing and did our fair share, yet this spot is just a little too shallow at both tides to really get anything worth while yet the solid built pier does offer a great cleaning station which did handle its fair share of fish cleaned during our stay. hands down, we will look to rent again next year or sooner. You won't be disappointed with this property. Barry"

This was THE BEST getaway for our family & friends!
"This home was very CLEAN, loaded with fun things to do, not to mention it's tastefully decorated! We had our 1 and 4 year old with us, along with another couple and its place fit us perfectly! They had a high chair and toys for the kids which was a great surprise for us! We went fishing off the dock and ate every meal on the back deck. Fishing, watching the sun come up w/ a cup of coffee and playing games in the back yard with my kids was my favorite part of this trip even though the main reason we came was for the Beaufort Music Festival. The grocery store was right down the road and downtown Beaufort was a super short drive. Renee was quick to respond and answered all my random questions :) Definitely recommend this home and we look forward to coming back soon!"

-Please inquire about bringing your BOAT! Large driveway has plenty of space for a boat trailer and vehicle. Tying your boat up to the dock is an option, however boat launch is recommended elsewhere. North River is shallow even at high tide. Flat bottom, Skiff, or "shallow" v bottom vessels are most suitable for this dock. Boat lift pictured is currently not available for use. WHAT IS PROVIDED:
Spectrum Rental Properties will provide sheets and bath towels. Beach towels and equipment is not provided. If you would like information on beach equipment rentals, we are more than happy to provide you with a list. Properties will be provided with a starter kit in each full bathroom and kitchen. Each kitchen starter kit will contain a small bottle of dish soap, two dishwasher pods, sponge, and two fragrance free laundry pods. The kitchen will also have one extra trash bag
Each bathroom starter kit will contain a travel size shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, makeup wipe, and body bar.
Spectrum Rental Properties is unfortunately not able to provide additional boxes/bags. This is a starter kit; anything additional will be guests responsibility to provide.

PET POLICY:
Dogs are allowed with a $200 + tax non refundable pet fee per dog, with a 3 dog maximum. Weight limit on dog cannot exceed 40lbs.
Airbnb guests: This fee is NOT included in your final price. Please notify Spectrum Properties once your booking has been confirmed to add this pet fee(s).
VRBO guests: Guests can only add one dog to the reservation. If you are planning to bring more than one dog, please notify Spectrum Properties to add the additional pet fee(s).
Failure to let us know about your pet(s) could result in a $700 fine.

**The water depth is one foot at the lowest tide, and usually 2 feet or more up to 4-5 feet. So will depend on the tide cycle. The whole bay is fairly shallow.**

We have gorgeous views of Jarret Bay from the front bedroom, reading room, front porch, and sunroom, and fire pit.

Our bedrooms have plush top of the line mattresses. A purple level four king bed in the master. And two Nectar twin mattresses in the secondary room. We also have a full size futon in the front reading room that can sleep two additional guests.

Our kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking adventures.

Bring your own boat or kayak and enjoy the bay using our sand boat launch across the street. Dip your feet in the water and bring some chairs and water shoes as this little sandy spot is sure to please. You can also go fishing or crabbing from the beach across the street.

We are 15 minutes to Beaufort or Harkers Island. 30 minutes to Cedar Island Ferry to Ocracoke, Core Sound, Cape lookout, Atlantic Beach, and so much more!

We are centrally located in a rural area and are directly on highway 70. Our home is at the edge of a curve so you must feel comfortable backing out of the driveway or carefully turning around in the grass. Each kitchen starter kit will contain a small bottle of dish soap, two dishwasher pods, sponge, and two fragrance free laundry pods. The kitchen will also have one extra trash bag
Each bathroom starter kit will contain a travel size shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, makeup wipe, and body bar.

- "Beautiful property! Convenient location and beautiful views! House had everything needed for a wonderful stay!" - "We had a wonderful time! The view was spectacular. There was plenty of room for 6 people!" - "We had a great stay at the Downeast Retreat. Our group was a mix of all adults (friends & family) and the house was great. One friend was even able to utilize the dock for his flat bottom boat. Our V shaped boat was put in at the wildlife ramp just a couple miles away. My only complaints about this property is the amount of fees you have to pay almost double the cost of staying here, so keep that in mind before booking. In addition, the check in and out times seem rather harsh. You lose a lot of time when check in is at 5 (although we did get to check in earlier at 2 but that's not guaranteed) and check out is at 10 am. Finally, the trash situation is not the best. For the amount we paid to stay here, trash services should be included. You have to take out your own trash, and for weekend stays, the dump doesn't open until 1pm but you have to be out of the house by 10am.. so we had to haul all our trash home which I thought was nuts. Anytime the landfill was open we were out on the water. If we had read the manual more carefully on arrival we could have planned better but we were too excited to start having fun! For groups and families looking for a quiet place to relax, you can't beat the location. The house was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room and bathrooms for all to use. I so enjoyed having a morning coffee looking out at the water in peace and quiet. Great spot for a low-key vacation especially if you have a boat. All in all, I would definitely stay here again but I do wish some changes could be made in regards to check in/out times and the trash situation."

Our home is located in the Down East area of Carteret County. We're on the coast, so there's lots of water-related activities!!

Our home is located in the area called Down East, which is part of the Outer Banks National Scenic Byway. The area was chosen due to the natural landscape and, specifically, the community-based culture of the thirteen communities that comprise Down East.

Beach area is within 1/2 mile offering opportunity to enjoy water sports. Located on the shore of Harkers Island is a nice stretch of beach enjoyed by many locals and visitors. It is very kid-friendly with a beautiful shoreline. Parking is limited, so get there early!!

Kayak rentals are available 1/8 of a mile from our house at Down East Kayaks. Rates are very reasonable. They deliver and pick up the kayaks for you! www.downeastkayaks.com

Cape Lookout National Seashore ferry is within 4 miles. The ferry will take you to Cape Lookout Lighthouse and surround beach areas. You let them know the time you want to return, and the ferry will be at the dock to pick you up! You can choose to go to the Lighthouse side of the park or Shackleford Banks island.
Take food, umbrellas, water and anything else you would like to have with you on the beach. Rest room facilities are available at the lighthouse but the visitors center only sells water and a limited amount of snacks.

Shackleford Banks is home to 130 wild ponies and they are beautiful to observe from a distance. Remember - they are wild so follow the rules that are posted on the island.

Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center is located on Harkers Island, approximately 4 miles from our home. The museum contains an awesome collection of Down East history, duck hunting, and culture.

A little further away is Cedar Island Horse Stables. There you can rent horses to ride along the beach. It's a huge hit with the visitors. The drive is about 30-40 minutes from our home but well worth the trip.

You can enjoy our deck with table/chairs facing the back yard.

Beaufort, Morehead and Atlantic Beach are within a 30-minute drive. A few of the attractions are Fort Macon State Park, Fort Macon beach area, lots of shops and restaurants for you to choose from.

There is no trash service. A trash can is provided at the side of the house. Please put all trash in bags in the trash can. The trash will be removed after check out. If trash is not is a bag - a service charge of $50 will be charged.

- "Great stay house was clean and all in all a fun trip" - "Beautiful artwork. Nice layout. Alot of things in disrepair. Amenities advertised such as garage parking unable to be used due to storage items inside. Wifi and TV not working out entire stay. Spiders and palmetto bugs everywhere. When stripping the beds after stay disgusting stains under mattress pad. Lawn care done during our stay. Grass and debris sprayed on cars in driveway. Lawn person askedafter she had done this if it was okay to cut the back yard. Property manager was very nice but seemed to be okay with the state of things. Cleaning fee questionable considering the bugs, broken items and nasty mattresses."

The space
Inside you’ll find a fully stocked kitchen, dining room, sitting room with views of the river, and a comfortable den with a big screen TV and access to a large backyard. We have a firepit and picnic table ready for you and a zipline for our younger guests, and you can park in the driveway or in the two car garage. There are 4 bedrooms – two kings, one queen, and a bunk bed with a trundle – and a sleeper sofa, accommodating 10-12 people. Smart TVs in the bedrooms, linens provided.

There are no shortage of activities close by. Bring your skiff, kayaks, and paddle boards and launch at the neighborhood ramp across the street. Bigger boats are welcome, but you’ll want to launch in deeper waters. We are less than 10 minutes from Historic Beaufort, 20 minutes from Atlantic Beach, and 25 minutes from the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and the Cape Lookout National Seashore ferry terminal on Harkers Island. Owners are happy to provide recommendations for activities, rentals, and restaurants. We love it here, and know you will, too!

The space
This is a studio apartment, meaning the bedroom, living area, and kitchen are all located in one room. The main bed is queen sized, and a full sized sleeper sofa is available. Our kitchen is stocked with everything you would need to make a home cooked meal during your stay. We have a small convection oven above our gas stovetop, full sized refrigerator, and a dishwasher. We have provided a Keurig as well as K-cups, creamer, sugar, and sweeteners for your convenience. A bottle of wine, nuts, and chocolate will be available upon your arrival. Be sure to let us know if you'll be bringing your pet, and we will provide a treat for them too. We do charge a $100 non-refundable pet fee. The living room has a television equipped with Roku. All of your favorite streaming apps are preloaded. Our bathroom comes stocked with towels, washcloths, and hand towels. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a hair dryer are provided. Enjoy the weather outside on our lovely back patio, or enjoy a game of pool, ping pong, air hockey on our kid-sized game table. Darts and board games are available for the entertainment of adults and children.

The space
Please see the description of the camper. The lot is private and very quiet. It is located at the back of the resort. The only traffic is usually foot traffic or an occasional vehicle of people putting trash in the dumpster at the end of the road.

Guests have access to the entire camper. I would highly suggest against accessing the poop shoot but to each his own 😂

We have private boat parking off site, at our home that is 0.4 miles away from the campground, that has electric, water, and security cameras in place.

Guests can park under the house or in the adjacent gravel drive. There is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles and a boat trailer. The Harker's Island boat ramp is just minutes away and it is a short drive (or even a bike ride) to the end of the island where you can catch a ferry to Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks. While you can easily drive to Atlantic Beach or Emerald Isle, the solitude and ease of ferrying to the outer islands is unrivaled! The ferry will even linger for you to get a good look at the dolphins and wild ponies if conditions are right!

Other things to note
If you take advantage of the free kayaks, please take note of the tides. You will not be able to get back to the dock unless the tide is in. Also, take frequent notes of landmarks and surroundings so you can find your way back home!

GENERAL: Using the AirBNB online reservation and payment system, Dickens Capital, LLC (“Owner”) or its Agent (“Host”) will agree to lease to a specified Lessee (“Tenant”) the property located at 716 Firetower, Beaufort, North Carolina 28516 (the “Premises”) according to the terms specified by the AirBNB online reservation system and this Vacation Rental Agreement (“Agreement”). The Owner, Host and Tenant are collectively referred to as the “Parties” hereinafter.

USE OF ELECTRONIC MEANS; NOTICE: The Parties agree that electronic means may be used to sign and/or accept this Agreement or to make any modifications the Parties may agree to, and that any written notice, communication or documents may be transmitted electronically to any e-mail address, cell phone number, fax number or AirBNB messaging used by the parties to communicate during the course of this Agreement. Any notices required or authorized to be given hereunder or pursuant to applicable law may also be mailed to Tenant’s address or hand delivered to the Tenant at the address of the Premises and to the Owner/Host at the Owner/Host’s address.

HOUSE RULES:
Max overnight guests: 6
Minimum age to rent: 25
No events are allowed.
Smoking only allowed outside; Tenants must pick up any smoking related debris.

SAFETY: Tenant understands and agrees that the Premises is surrounded by bodies of water and is to use the bodies of water at their own risk. Dickens Capital, LLC or the Host will not be held liable of any personal injury or any property damage related to the use of such bodies of water. Please be mindful of high tides and low tides. Be mindful of all oyster beds and nature residing in and out of the water. We do not recommend paddle boarding in any area near the home.




TENANT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Tenant agrees to comply with all obligations imposed by the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act on Tenant with respect to maintenance of the Premises, including but not limited to: keeping the Premises as clean and safe as the conditions of the Premises permit and causing no unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the common areas and remainder of the Premises that Tenant uses; not deliberately or negligently destroy, deface, damage, or remove any part of the Premises or knowingly permit any person or guest to do so; and notifying the host in writing of the need of replacement of or repairs to a smoke detector, and replacing the batteries as needed during the tenancy. Tenant agrees not to use the Premises for any activity or purpose that violates any criminal law or governmental regulation and may use the Premises for residential purposes only. Tenant agrees not to possess or distribute any illegal substances or drug paraphernalia on or around the Premises. Tenant’s breach of any duty contained in this paragraph shall be considered material, and shall result in the termination of Tenant’s tenancy.

OCCUPANCY: Unless otherwise stated, occupancy of the Premises shall be limited to two persons per bedroom. Bedding arrangements in the Premises are portrayed only to illustrate possible sleeping arrangements and may not be taken as a representation of permitted occupancy. Tenant agrees to be responsible for ensuring that maximum permitted occupancy of the Premises is not exceeded during the term of their booking, and should contact the Host/Owner with any questions regarding permitted occupancy of the Premises.

OWNER DUTIES: Owner is required to provide the Premises in a fit and habitable condition. If at the time Tenant is to begin occupancy of the Premises, the Premises are not in a fit and habitable condition and the host or owner cannot substitute a reasonably comparable property in such condition, the Owner or Host shall refund to Tenant all payments made by Tenant.

EXPEDITED EVICTION: If the tenancy created is for 30 days or less, the expedited eviction procedures set forth in the Vacation Rental Act will apply. Tenant may be evicted under such procedures if Tenant: holds over in possession after Tenant’s tenancy has expired; commits a breach of any provision of this Agreement (including any house rules listed thru the AirBNB website) that according to its terms would result in the termination of Tenant’s tenancy; fails to pay rent or fees as required by this Agreement; or has obtained possession of the Premises by fraud or misrepresentation.

MANDATORY EVACUATION: If State or local authorities order a mandatory evacuation of an area that includes the Premises, Tenant shall comply with the order. Upon compliance, Tenant will be entitled to a refund of the prorated rent for each night that Tenant is unable to occupy the Premises because of the order. Owner or host will honor a cancellation made up to seven (7) days in advance to the order.

HOLD HARMLESS; RIGHT OF ENTRY; ASSIGNMENT OR SUBLETTING : Tenant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Host and the Owner from and against any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by any person (including Tenant’s guests) as a result of any cause, unless caused by the negligent or willful act of the host or the owner, or the failure of host or the owner to comply with the Vacation Rental Act. Tenant agrees that the Host, the Owner or their respective representatives may enter the Premises during reasonable hours to inspect the Premises, to make such repairs, alterations or improvements the Host or Owner may deem appropriate, or to show the Premises to prospective purchasers or tenants. Tenant or tenants shall not assign this Agreement or sublet the Premises in whole or part without written permission of the Host or Owner.

CLEANLINESS: You are expected to treat the Vacation Rental with respect, keeping in mind that this is an individual’s home, not a hotel room. Even in cases where a cleaning fee is charged, you are expected to leave the Vacation Rental in a clean, neat, and orderly condition and respect the Host’s requests regarding check-out and departure procedures.

GOVERNING LAW: All parties agree that this Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with all laws of the State of North Carolina, and in the event of a dispute, any legal action may and will only be instituted in the county where the Property is located.

ATTORNEY’S FEES & COSTS: If Dickens Capital, LLC or your Host employs the services of an attorney or attorneys to enforce any conditions of this Agreement, you shall be liable to Wall-Part Properties, LLC or your Host, as applicable, for reasonable attorney’s fees and costs incurred.

AGREEMENT: By accepting and booking the Premises through AirBNB, Tenant hereby agrees to be bound by the terms and policies set forth by AirBNB, as well as the terms of this Agreement.

The space
The lil Salty Sound Retreat is an 480 sq ft guest apt with a queen memory foam bed with generous space along with a double hide a bed in the living room that would happily accommodate family of 3 . We welcome small fur babies under 40 lbs and require a nightly fee for them of 25.00 nightly Please Inquire with Host for nightly pet stay amount we ask all guest to provide sleeping beds and take precautions should they leave there pets for daily outings . We have a large covered carport which allows for outside sitting and a back deck and swing under the live oaks that you can enjoy the salty air .
Inside the living room / mini kitchenette offers a keurig with latte maker with full-size refrigerator and microwave with convection oven for cooking small meals . The tv comes equipped with a fire stick for those kick back and watch a movie nights . We hope you can come and enjoy your stay in our lil retreat and feel like home . Please reach out to host first before booking when coming with pets . There is a nightly charge and typically only 1 pet unless approved before . We provide linen and blankets and pillows along with paper products . The only thing you will need to bring is your own shampoo and body wash as many prefer your own things .

When booking with pets if staying more than 2 nights there is a 25.00 nightly charge separate per pet . Typically we don’t except more than 2 fur babies. Please note only guest in the booking need to be on the premises no outside guest . Guest must be 25 yrs old or above .

Come enjoy all that the N.C. coast has to offer at Bum's Retreat. Our home is nestled in the Down East community in Eastern NC on a two acre lot with private access to the ICW and marshland. With close proximity to Beaufort, Morehead City, and Atlantic Beach we are strategically placed to enjoy these towns amenities, all the while remaining in a private setting. We have a private dock great for launching kayaks or crabbing. We are 6 miles from Cape Lookout lighthouse ferry terminal.

The space
Home has 3 bedroom, one master bedroom w/king bed, one with queen bed, and a third bedroom with bunk beds, one twin and one double. Nice size living area and kitchen with small table and washer/dryer in unit. Kitchen is stocked with cutlery, oyster knives, bar area and wine rack. Nice pots/pans available as well. If you're desire is to cook up a coastal feast, we have you covered. Stocked spice rack and basic cooking tools/seasonings.

Other things to note
Please be mindful of children when using dock access. Also some neighbors in the community do not leash dogs so keep an eye out, they are friendly.

The second Bedroom has queen size bed and a set of twin size bunkbeds so this room can sleep four. Living area has a queen sleeper sofa that sleeps two and a lovesest sleeper sofa that sleeps one.

The space
You will be enjoying our entire private house along with the front and rear yard and game shed. There are two bedrooms, a living room, front reading room with a comfy futon that sleeps 2. We also have a 3 season room with water views, and a beautiful and bright kitchen and dining area. The master bedroom has a king bed with an attached bathroom containing a tub/shower combo. The secondary bedroom has two twin beds. The secondary bathroom is in the back of the house and has a shower.

Our home is stocked with all the essentials you’ll need for your stay including:

Extra towels, beach towels, sheets, blankets, and pillows
Travel size Shampoo and conditioner
Hair dryer
White noise machines
Staples like coffee, sugar, and a kettle
Basic cleaning supplies, toilet paper and paper towels.

We have beach chairs and an umbrella in the shed for guest use.

We have a fire pit available on the side of the house with water views. And chairs on the deck. Guests will need to provide their own wood for the pit.

We have a car port that connects to our house for guest use. There is also room on the other side of the house for a boat if you are bringing one. As a bonus, some smaller boats can be launched across the street. It is a shallow sand based launch and only suitable for certain boats. Local fisherman frequently use this spot for launching. This is also a great place to launch your own kayaks. You may also rent across the street from the oyster nursery. We bring our 4 young children across the street by foot frequently to play in the sand and water. This is not a beach, however, so please use at your own risk. While you can swim in the bay, it’s a mud and sharp shell bottom not too far from the shore and I recommend other locations for swimming. Great spot for shore fishing and relaxing, however.

We also have an outdoor game room in our shed with ping pong, foosball, and corn hole. There is a small fan available for air circulation. The garage door can be operated by making sure the light switch is on and pressing the garage door button.

Kayaks available across the street at the oyster nursery for rent.

Our home is centrally located between several different ferry’s to both Cape Lookout and Ocracoke. We are close to Jarrett Bay Boatworks and frequently host people working on their boats or Yachts. This is a rural location. You will be driving 15 minutes or more to all attractions.

We are close to Harker’s Island and the Waterfowl Museum. Close to the Decoy Festivals and many other festivals in Beaufort.

Guest access
Guests can access the entire property including our shed which houses our game room. Guest have access to boat parking or trailer parking on property. We do not have room to turn around so you must be comfortable backing your boat out of the driveway. You may also park across the street. Contact me for details if you’re bringing a boat.

The shed is for guest use and should remain unlocked at all times. We do not provide a key to this space for guests so please don’t lock yourself out.

Other things to note
We are a non smoking, pet free property due to family allergies. If you have a service animal, please consider a home that is listed as pet friendly as this likely means owner allergies are not an issue/consideration.

Our house runs on well water which can be very soft. If you aren’t used to the taste, you may want to grab some bottled water for drinking. We have a couple of starter bottles for your convenience. The well water is safe to drink if that is your preference.

The closest major grocery store is about 15 minutes away. If you’re planning on cooking, we recommend grabbing groceries before you arrive at our home. There is also a dollar general about five minutes away.

Due to our location on highway 70, if you are sensitive to road noise and will be staying in the twin bedroom, please be aware that you may hear the road noise.

Guests do NOT have access to any of the private docks across the street. Please do not go in our behind the building across the street. The building and docks are all private property.

Our neighbor has a small dog that may be outdoors on their property for brief periods. Our driveways are side by side but there is a privacy screen between the two houses.

Have you ever wanted to see how oysters are grown? We are across the street from Downeast Mariculture Supply, a fantastic stop on the NC Oyster trail. And, they offer tours April-October!

We are on the water. We experience severe weather occasionally. If you are traveling during hurricane season I highly recommend travel insurance. I cannot refund disrupted stays due to weather events and circumstances beyond my control.

We are on the water, in the country. We share the area with nature and everyone who lives here. We do get an occasional pest inside. We do our best to prevent unwanted visitors but no guarantees.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Newly renovated and nicely decorated! I do not allow pets, or parties and smoking! This property is close to beaches.
Close to grocery stores and restaurants! Families can have fun at golfin dolphin.

The space
This home is a 3 bedroom and 2 full bath. In the master there is a king size bed, 2nd bedroom is a full size bed with a pull out twin bed and 3 bedroom has a twin. Master has a stand up shower and the 2nd bathroom has a tub and shower combo. Kitchen is stocked for your cooking needs. Dining room had a large table that sits 8 , living room has a sectional on one end is a recliner . 2 nd living room has a couch and 2 chairs . 3rd living space has a table that sits 6 people that is great to put puzzles together and play games, couch and foosball table. All 3 living space has a TV . No TV’s in bedrooms. Washer and dryer Charcoal grill out side with a table that sits 6 people with umbrella.If you have a baby there is a portable crib, high chair, playpen, baby monitor and sound machine.Added this year is corn hole boards , croquet. , ladder toss, and kids games to play if you just want to hang out at the house. This house is not pet friendly. No pets allowed. I do not allow parties or smoking.Dinners tables are not allowed to play beer pong on . There is a $500. Charge for glass company to come and clean them.

You have access to house and small outdoor play house. Play house has a small door we do keep a small amount of beach toys and toys in there. If you need a bigger space to store stuff there is a bigger building just let me know I will provide a key to you. No driving to that building. Big backyard that is fenced in with chain link .

Other things to note
There is a big drive way . Boats are allowed . There is a small boat ramp for John boats in the neighborhood or if you have a bigger one you can go to Croatan national forest that has a boat ramp. This is 5 miles from the house. We do not allow pets . We do have a new hot water heater installed in fall if 2022. New AC and Heater system installed with all new ducts winter 2022/2023 .There are restaurants 1-6 miles away. Golfing dolphin is 5 miles away. It’s fun for the kids and adults. Emerald Isle is 6 miles away and hammock beach ferry is 15 minutes away.

The space
A four bedroom home located 10 miles east of downtown Beaufort and 7 miles from Harkers Island. This spacious home features 3 bedrooms and the fourth room is a nursery. The master features a king size bed while the second has a full, the third is a queen, and lastly the nursery has a crib and changing table. Our kitchen is stocked with everything you would need to make a home cooked meal during your stay. We have a full size fridge, oven, microwave, Keurig as well as K-cups, creamer, sugar, and sweeteners for your convenience. A bottle of wine, nuts and chocolate will be available upon arrival. Please let us know if you have a nut allergy so we can remove those. The living room and master bedroom are equipped with televisions. Our bathrooms come stocked with towels, washcloths, and hand towels. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a hair dryer are provided. We also have a selection of board games available for the entertainment of adults and children.

Our home is a beautiful, peaceful place to enjoy all the wonders of living on inland sounds and straits in the friendly town of Gloucester, NC, only 15 minutes from historic Beaufort. Multiple ferries are nearby and can take you to Cape Lookout, Shackelford Banks, Shell Island, and more wildlife retreats where you will see wild horses, dolphins, sea turtles, and more. Or bring your boat or kayak and take off from our dock or shoreline. Catch fish from our dock and watch the wild horses.

The space
An ideal 1 acre haven for relaxing, fishing, boating, and touring the area via ferry boats, kayaks, sail boats, motorized boats, eco-tours, or cars. Enjoy your favorite beverages from our dock's bench and watch nearby dolphins and wild horses. Bring your kayaks or boat and enjoy the waters around our home. Marshallburg town, Browns Is, and Harkers Is are nearby. Sandy bottoms surround our dock along with a ladder to assist you into the water. Wear shoes when in the water as we opted for oyster reefs closer to our shoreline to protect the young fish in our waters. Roll your kayak down the east side of our dock and board just feet from our shoreline or from the swimming dock. The home is on the Straits. From our dock enjoy sunsets, sunrises and your favorite beverages. Migratory birds travel through this area year long. Pelicans, kingfishers, seagulls, red-headed woodpeckers and many more animals call this paradise home. Downstair picture windows ensure waterfront views at all times. Large decks surround the home's waterfront on our 1 acre property that faces south. Enjoy sunrises and sunsets from the deck or dock. Our kitchen is fully equipped with a large assortment of spices and other essentials. The home has 1 king bed, 1 futon with ultra comfort pad, 1 single daybed, 1 full size bed, and a couch for sleeping. The Core Sound Museum and Heritage Center on Harkers Island, 5 miles from our home, is rich with information about early settlers to this area who relocated from Gloucester, MA. The area was settled over 300 years ago by farmers, boat builders, and fishing families. Beaufort, NC is a short 15 min. drive and full of entertainment, historic sites, seasonal wine festivals, biking tours, and more. Great seafood dining places on Front Street and around Beaufort and Morehead City are a treat! The Harkers Island Public Boat Launch is 3 miles from our home. Tie off on our 75 ft dock for boating fun and convenience!

All but one upstairs bedroom is available to our vacationers! This is the owners' private area. However, when you rent our vacation home, you are its only tenants!

Other things to note
Fishing gear, cast nets, crab pots, kites, croquette and horseshoes will keep you entertained at our lovely home. The boat lift is not available to our guests as our boat occupies it. Guests are asked to contact us if they desire to dock their boat at our dock. Two outside surveillance cameras are present to protect our property and guests.

Grab a bike and take a Sweet ride downtown under the Live oaks tunnel . Soak of the sounds of nature around you and hopefully catch a glimpse of the wild horses that roam free on Carrot island . If you lucky and take a boat ride over to the islands please be respectful and don’t approach the horses .
