We fished all day, walked the beach for shells and enjoyed the water toys. My older children enjoyed bike rides in the evening exploring the neighborhood. The house is older, but that is part of the charm. Our evenings were spent in the screened in porch enjoying the nice ocean breeze. We enjoyed dinner at Patty's which is right down the street. Our kids loved going to Davis Shore Provisions for souvenirs and pie! This was the most relaxing vacation we ever took and can't wait to return. The owners were excellent with communication as well."

Amazing Home! Immaculate, beautiful, and welcoming
"We had the best family vacation at this home. It is immaculate! The kitchen is stocked with EVERYTHING you need. There are indoor and outdoor games for kids and adults. We enjoyed fishing off the dock in the evening. The beach access is only a few minutes away and the outdoor shower was wonderful upon return. we enjoyed watching the most beautiful sunrises in the morning with our coffee and ended the nights with a bike ride during sunset on the beach bikes they provided. We ate at a few great restaurants nearby and enjoyed downtown Beaufort one afternoon. We can't wait to book another vacation at this wonderful property!"

"Bliss is Right!"
"If I could have written a review upon arrival I would have. This is the kind of property that is nothing but top of the line. Beautifully decorated home. A "Great" great room. Spacious kitchen that had everything we normally have to bring from home. Comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Wonderful view of the north river and Harker's Island. And did I mention quiet? Wow. We are fishing and did our fair share, yet this spot is just a little too shallow at both tides to really get anything worth while yet the solid built pier does offer a great cleaning station which did handle its fair share of fish cleaned during our stay. hands down, we will look to rent again next year or sooner. You won't be disappointed with this property. Barry"

This was THE BEST getaway for our family & friends!
"This home was very CLEAN, loaded with fun things to do, not to mention it's tastefully decorated! We had our 1 and 4 year old with us, along with another couple and its place fit us perfectly! They had a high chair and toys for the kids which was a great surprise for us! We went fishing off the dock and ate every meal on the back deck. Fishing, watching the sun come up w/ a cup of coffee and playing games in the back yard with my kids was my favorite part of this trip even though the main reason we came was for the Beaufort Music Festival. The grocery store was right down the road and downtown Beaufort was a super short drive. Renee was quick to respond and answered all my random questions :) Definitely recommend this home and we look forward to coming back soon!"

-Please inquire about bringing your BOAT! Large driveway has plenty of space for a boat trailer and vehicle. Tying your boat up to the dock is an option, however boat launch is recommended elsewhere. North River is shallow even at high tide. Flat bottom, Skiff, or "shallow" v bottom vessels are most suitable for this dock. Boat lift pictured is currently not available for use. WHAT IS PROVIDED:
Spectrum Rental Properties will provide sheets and bath towels. Beach towels and equipment is not provided. If you would like information on beach equipment rentals, we are more than happy to provide you with a list. Properties will be provided with a starter kit in each full bathroom and kitchen. Each kitchen starter kit will contain a small bottle of dish soap, two dishwasher pods, sponge, and two fragrance free laundry pods. The kitchen will also have one extra trash bag
Each bathroom starter kit will contain a travel size shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, makeup wipe, and body bar.
Spectrum Rental Properties is unfortunately not able to provide additional boxes/bags. This is a starter kit; anything additional will be guests responsibility to provide.

PET POLICY:
Dogs are allowed with a $200 + tax non refundable pet fee per dog, with a 3 dog maximum. Weight limit on dog cannot exceed 40lbs.
Airbnb guests: This fee is NOT included in your final price. Please notify Spectrum Properties once your booking has been confirmed to add this pet fee(s).
VRBO guests: Guests can only add one dog to the reservation. If you are planning to bring more than one dog, please notify Spectrum Properties to add the additional pet fee(s).

**The water depth is one foot at the lowest tide, and usually 2 feet or more up to 4-5 feet. So will depend on the tide cycle. The whole bay is fairly shallow.**

We have gorgeous views of Jarret Bay from the front bedroom, reading room, front porch, and sunroom, and fire pit.

Our bedrooms have plush top of the line mattresses. A purple level four king bed in the master. And two Nectar twin mattresses in the secondary room. We also have a full size futon in the front reading room that can sleep two additional guests.

Our kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking adventures.

Bring your own boat or kayak and enjoy the bay using our sand boat launch across the street. Dip your feet in the water and bring some chairs and water shoes as this little sandy spot is sure to please. You can also go fishing or crabbing from the beach across the street.

We are 15 minutes to Beaufort or Harkers Island. 30 minutes to Cedar Island Ferry to Ocracoke, Core Sound, Cape lookout, Atlantic Beach, and so much more!

We are centrally located in a rural area and are directly on highway 70. Our home is at the edge of a curve so you must feel comfortable backing out of the driveway or carefully turning around in the grass. Watch shrimp boats and all variety of personal watercraft and sailboats plying the beautiful waters between Oriental and Beaufort.

WHAT IS PROVIDED:
Spectrum Rental Properties will provide sheets and bath towels. Beach towels and equipment is not provided. If you would like information on beach equipment rentals, we are more than happy to provide you with a list. Properties will be provided with a starter kit in each full bathroom and kitchen. Each kitchen starter kit will contain a small bottle of dish soap, two dishwasher pods, sponge, and two fragrance free laundry pods. The kitchen will also have one extra trash bag
Each bathroom starter kit will contain a travel size shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, makeup wipe, and body bar.
Spectrum Rental Properties is unfortunately not able to provide additional boxes/bags. This is a starter kit; anything additional will be guests responsibility to provide.

PET POLICY:
Dogs are allowed with a $200 + tax non refundable pet fee per dog, with a 3 dog maximum.
Airbnb guests: This fee is NOT included in your final price. Please notify Spectrum Properties once your booking has been confirmed to add this pet fee(s).
VRBO guests: Guests can only add one dog to the reservation. If you are planning to bring more than one dog, please notify Spectrum Properties to add the additional pet fee(s).
Failure to let us know about your pet(s) could result in a $700 fine.

- "Beautiful property! Convenient location and beautiful views! House had everything needed for a wonderful stay!" - "We had a wonderful time! The view was spectacular. There was plenty of room for 6 people!" - "We had a great stay at the Downeast Retreat. Our group was a mix of all adults (friends & family) and the house was great. One friend was even able to utilize the dock for his flat bottom boat. Our V shaped boat was put in at the wildlife ramp just a couple miles away. My only complaints about this property is the amount of fees you have to pay almost double the cost of staying here, so keep that in mind before booking. In addition, the check in and out times seem rather harsh. You lose a lot of time when check in is at 5 (although we did get to check in earlier at 2 but that's not guaranteed) and check out is at 10 am. Finally, the trash situation is not the best. For the amount we paid to stay here, trash services should be included. You have to take out your own trash, and for weekend stays, the dump doesn't open until 1pm but you have to be out of the house by 10am.. so we had to haul all our trash home which I thought was nuts. Anytime the landfill was open we were out on the water. If we had read the manual more carefully on arrival we could have planned better but we were too excited to start having fun! For groups and families looking for a quiet place to relax, you can't beat the location. The house was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room and bathrooms for all to use. I so enjoyed having a morning coffee looking out at the water in peace and quiet. Great spot for a low-key vacation especially if you have a boat. All in all, I would definitely stay here again but I do wish some changes could be made in regards to check in/out times and the trash situation."
