- "If you're looking for a "fancy" house, this is not for you. But in saying that, it was perfect for my small family. Great location, close to amazing restaurants and Busco Beach. All the necessities were there in case you forgot something. Keurig coffee station was a wonderful start to the day! Drinking coffee on the screened in back porch while the pups ran around the huge fully fenced in backyard, this was exactly what we needed for our weekend getaway! Communication with the host was awesome, checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely stay here again!"

- "This house is old, and does have some updates. It reminded me of my grandma’s house. The location is great and the neighborhood is quiet. Came in to a surprise- a fenced in area in the back. It looked new so I think it is still in progress since there was no handle and latch on the inside. It was very helpful with our small dogs. Only issues we had during our stay was some of the doors would stick or not stay closed, but again this is an older home. I also wished that there were lamps in the bedrooms. The overhead light was a little too bright. All in all great place for the price. "

There is a washer and dryer in the home for guest use and Wi-Fi throughout.

There are travel size toiletries-and not just one of each but multiples in little bins. There are even pens and markers on the desk- just lots of thoughtful little extras. Relax and unwind at our "She Shed" in the country. A lovely place to stay the night (or 3) and relax. Full bath contains hot water for a great relaxing shower. Sleeping quarters features a plush queen size bed to catch up on some much needed sleep. Whether you are driving through I95 or need a place to stay while in town, this She Shed has it all for a comfy and peaceful stay!

The space
Entire She Shed is private and peaceful. You may hang out outside on the patio area or inside as you please.

Extra pillows, towels, blankets and sheets will be located in the cubbie stack just behind the entry door.

Note: We do have dogs that will occasionally bark when you arrive if they are outside. They will quite down once you settle in.

Private access with amble space to park your vehicle(s) along the gravel driveway, directly in front of the She Shed.

Guests have access to the entire She Shed and may use the porch and front yard for your enjoyment!

Coffee & water are all complimentary. Games and books are available for your enjoyment in the drawers labeled “Games.”

Ironing board is behind the cubby stack by entry door and the iron is located under the bathroom sink.

We have dogs, they will bark upon your arrival but they will quiet down once you settle in.

This 1,000 square foot space, we call The Big A, is found in an attractive older neighborhood on a large lot and conveniently located in Goldsboro. It has plenty of off street parking, WIFI and PRIVACY. We just added a washer/dryer and a new three burner gas grill. You will find a cozy fire log burning fireplace in the bedroom as well as an attractive patio and outdoor fireplace to relax. The Big A has a complete kitchen with a 20 inch stove, two large screen TV's.

Located just 26 minutes from downtown Raleigh & 7 minutes from quaint Wendell, this property is perfect for a staycation, city getaways or for business travelers. The Cottage @ Wandering Woods Homestead

The cottage is a cozy space with a big front porch perfect for guests who need to rest, refresh and reset.

The Space

The guest cottage is divided into three areas. The Kitchenette area, the living area and a private master bedroom.

The kitchenette includes a refrigerator with freezer, sink, five-burner stainless steel gas cooktop stove and oven, microwave, Ninja blender, tea kettle and coffee maker.

The space includes a full bathroom with bathtub, plush towels, blow dryer and toiletries.

The living room is cozy and furnished with a leather reclining sofa, Roku television, and a few books for comfy reading and downtime.

The bedroom features a queen bed with comfy bedding, plenty of storage and black out curtains. The room is extra insulated to keep noise from filtering into the space and is a private room from the rest of the living area.

There is a spacious front porch with a sitting area for relaxing outdoors and a dining table for al fresco dining.

Other things to note:

Host's family lives on premise. The Cottage is a private guest house; however, it is directly behind the main house where the host family lives with their three dogs and four cats.

Please NOTE: This is a WORKING HOMESTEAD!! We gladly share our love for homesteading and organic gardening, but please understand that we won’t always have a manicured space! We do our best to make it comfortable and cozy, but we still have to take care of homestead business 😉 !

Also this is a TINY home and is quaint and cozy! We do our best to make it as functional as we possibly can, but we cannot please everyone! We will gladly help you with any space issues if you just ask! 😊

We do everything in our power to make your stay a comfy, relaxing experience on our homestead, but we ask that you do understand that it is a working homestead and not all areas are pretty. Thank you!

Pet Policy
We love animals, but ask you only bring your well trained dog to visit us. We are a homestead and have chickens, ducks, and other livestock that need to be protected from curious dogs and cats. Please make sure your sweet pet is on a leash at all times and not left alone in The Cottage.

The Cottage @ Wandering Woods Homestead is a smoke-free environment! Please no smoking as several of our family members suffer from COPD and Asthma. Thank you for caring!

Garage, main house, barn, and chicken's fenced space are off-limits but you may walk the grounds, use the lawn areas as well as the fire pit. Corn hole can be set up upon request. There are other houses on the property so just be respectful of others privacy. 🐓🦆

The entire cottage is accessible with exception of the upstairs loft. The stairs are narrow and we would prefer pets and humans to stay down below in the main living space!

This is a working homestead! We have gardens, projects, etc., that are occurring on the homestead that may look less than perfect! We try our best to make your stay comfortable and relaxing, but family style not boutique style!
