The only thing that was inconvenient was there was very little toilet paper left on the holder and none to add to it so we had to buy our own toilet paper. I didn’t know who to contact to get that because there’s no one in the main castle area. Other than that it was a great place to stay and would recommend! We will definitely stay there again. "

The Studio is a truly unique and beautiful property, both inside and out. Located in the heart of the village within walking distance to all the harbor front attractions, The Studio is tucked away, shady and private. The multi level patio is nestled among live oaks and cedar trees. After a total renovation in 2022, the interior space features an updated look that is more spacious, more functional and more inviting than ever! The Studio is an adult only, pet free, smoke free space. Smoking is allowed outside.

This building was constructed in 1993 and used for 15 years as a working art studio. It is set back off the road, amidst giant live oak and cedar trees, and sits alongside my home, one of the islands designated historic houses. The two buildings are joined by an open breezeway behind the main gate, but when guests are in residence in the studio, we both have separate entrances on opposite sides of the property. The Studio provides all the comforts of home in a private, quiet and tree shaded setting, with lots of attention to detail. I have tried to make the Studio somewhere I would want to stay, well cared for with lots of personality.

You enter through a totally enclosed multi leveled courtyard space complete with artwork, jasmine, hot/cold out door shower and grill. There are chairs for lounging and a dining table for mealtime. Your parking is right outside the gate. Inside, the studio is colorful, unique and furnished for your complete comfort with one queen bed downstairs, a double bed in the upstairs loft space, sofa, flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen and bath with tub and shower. There is a desk and office chair perfect for working while away! The Studio provides full linen service.

This is the perfect romantic and private getaway for two. The Studio is located within walking distance of the Coffee Company, Zillie's, the harbor front and all downtown shops and restaurants. We ask that you do not store or charge electric bikes on the property.

All Studio guests are strongly urged to buy cancellation insurance through VRBO. We are an island 30 miles off the coast. Things happen, to people and to the island. The ferry service to the island can be affected at any time in unpredictable ways restricting access to the island. And, we have hurricanes from June through October. Please protect yourselves.

Margaritaville is a delightful two bedroom/two bath house, located in a quiet neighborhood with outstanding views of Pamlico Sound and the phenomenal sunsets. The deck and screened in porch were especially nice on the couple of good weather days we had; and the large living area and well equipped kitchen were fine on the rainy ones. - "This house is big and plenty of lounging space. Loved the big comfy couch in the tv room. A large yard perfect for the dog. Plenty of privacy. We loved the screened in porch with comfortable Adirondack chairs. Great for evenings listening to the frogs. We could ride our bikes anywhere in the village quickly and easily. The house is quite “vertical” so would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues. However for our young family it was great. Extra tv room was helpful for the kids. The huge dining room table was a hit for eating and scooting everything over for board games. A few minor repairs are needed but we communicated that with the owners. Nothing aside from regular wear and tear of a rental. Beautiful house perfectly situated. We just had the best week with our family."

- "The property on Tutles Lane is exactly as pictured on the Home Away site down to the slightly disheveled cushions on the sectional couch. Property was clean and suited our family of four perfectly. Property is tucked away from any traffic so it’s quiet and peaceful. A very easy walk or bike ride to all the restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend rented bikes. There’s no view of water from the property but it’s within a short distance so not a problem. My husband and I took advantage of the outdoor shower since there’s only one full bath. This kept us on schedule. Kitchen could use a dish drain for any hand washing although there is a dishwasher. We did send a message to the rental company about the condition of the ceiling fan on the screened in porch and the need for the TV cable to be better mounted. Both were addressed while we were at the beach one morning. Overall, a good experience. Thank you!"
