The Studio is a truly unique and beautiful property, both inside and out. Located in the heart of the village within walking distance to all the harbor front attractions, The Studio is tucked away, shady and private. The multi level patio is nestled among live oaks and cedar trees. After a total renovation in 2022, the interior space features an updated look that is more spacious, more functional and more inviting than ever! The Studio is an adult only, pet free, smoke free space. Smoking is allowed outside.
This building was constructed in 1993 and used for 15 years as a working art studio. It is set back off the road, amidst giant live oak and cedar trees, and sits alongside my home, one of the islands designated historic houses. The two buildings are joined by an open breezeway behind the main gate, but when guests are in residence in the studio, we both have separate entrances on opposite sides of the property. The Studio provides all the comforts of home in a private, quiet and tree shaded setting, with lots of attention to detail. I have tried to make the Studio somewhere I would want to stay, well cared for with lots of personality.
You enter through a totally enclosed multi leveled courtyard space complete with artwork, jasmine, hot/cold out door shower and grill. There are chairs for lounging and a dining table for mealtime. Your parking is right outside the gate. Inside, the studio is colorful, unique and furnished for your complete comfort with one queen bed downstairs, a double bed in the upstairs loft space, sofa, flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen and bath with tub and shower. There is a desk and office chair perfect for working while away! The Studio provides full linen service.
This is the perfect romantic and private getaway for two. The Studio is located within walking distance of the Coffee Company, Zillie's, the harbor front and all downtown shops and restaurants. We ask that you do not store or charge electric bikes on the property.
All Studio guests are strongly urged to buy cancellation insurance through VRBO. We are an island 30 miles off the coast. Things happen, to people and to the island. The ferry service to the island can be affected at any time in unpredictable ways restricting access to the island. And, we have hurricanes from June through October. Please protect yourselves.

The balcony was great! Eric was easy to communicate with and gave us a full run down upon arrival which was great! He has some beach things and bikes for guests to use. The condos are apart of his home but all have their own entrance, common stairway. Overall a great place for a couple to stay. Thanks Eric!"

The only other living space on this floor is another studio which is completely separated by the common hallway. That space is on the rear of the house.

3 story pastel orange beach house with white trim. The private entrance to this 1st floor suite is located on the right side of the house and has a private kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. Great for a family of 4 or two couples looking to get away. The bedroom is separate and to the rear of the suite while the rest of the living space is at the entrance to the unit. The private entrance door to this unit is accessed at the base of the main staircase which is the access for 2 spaces upstairs on the second floor. The bathroom is within the laundry space and is "split" from the main part of the suite by the main stairs.
**The listed rate covers up to 2 guests. Additional guests will be an additional $50 per night, per guest.

Pet fee is $50 per stay for well-behaved dogs not more than 50lbs (limit 2). **If pets are not marked and paid for at the point of booking, we reserve the right to cancel the booking at the point of check in without refund. This pleasant apartment features 2 queen beds, a cozy living space, a fully equipped kitchen, large porch and a brand new dock for boat tie up. Enjoy the serene surroundings and modern amenities like heating, AC, WiFi, and a washing machine. The bathroom offers a refreshing shower and a hairdryer for your convenience. There is also an outdoor shower, fish cleaning bench, grill for cooking, picnic table and hammock for your enjoyment. You can rent this 2 bedroom as a stand alone or you can rent both Sea-esta 1 & 2 for a total of 3 bedrooms. We look forward to welcoming you to our place.

My youngest was mad we didn't stay an extra day. We were 8 minutes, golf cart, to dinner and 8 minutes from the ORV ramp. The house felt like Ocracoke was meant to be. Breakfast/coffee at the cafe, on the beach by 8:30, back home by 3:30, dinner around 5:30, bed time around 10, and repeat. We loved our stay and couldn't ask for anything more. "

New mattresses, furniture and appliances
3 story pastel orange beach house with white trim. Less than a mile walk from the beach. This 1st floor suite is one of 3 suites within our house and has a private kitchenette, bathroom, and spare bedroom all located within the unit. Great for a family of 4 or two couples looking to get away. Pet friendly for well-behaved dogs up to 50lbs (limit 2)
**The listed rate covers up to 2 guests. Additional guests will be an additional $50 per night, per guest.
Pet fee is $50 per stay for well-behaved dogs not more than 50lbs (limit 2). **If pets are not marked and paid for at the point of booking, we reserve the right to cancel the booking at the point of check in without refund. (All guests are met in person for check in.) Pets are not to be left unattended for long periods of time and must not disturb other guests while staying with us. Excessive barking or whining will not be tolerated.

The private entrance is located on the left side of the house leading to a studio which is spacious and comfortable with a kitchenette, smart TV, seating area and dining table. Down a private hallway is the private full bath with spacious shower, clothes closet, and extra queen bedroom.
Please bring linens and towels with you. Queen beds in main studio and in second bedroom.
Accommodations offer a hair dryer, Smart television and starter rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. Kitchenette includes apartment size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, cookware/dishes/utensils, and a standard 12 cup coffee maker (filters provided)
No smoking of any kind (no vapes, no e-cigs). Any evidence of smoking in the suite will incur a cleaning fee of $350. If you must smoke, please do so outside and away from other guests. Dispose of cigarettes properly (do not throw in the yard).
** Parking is a premium on Ocracoke and we only have 1 space available per suite. Please, no trailers or very large vehicles. ** Let us know if you will bring/rent a golf cart while you are staying with us.

Ocracoke Beach Outfitters has beach gear, baby items, bicycles and other items for rent if you forget something for your stay. They are within walking distance of the house.

The house sits in the middle of our little island 30 miles off the mainland accessible only by ferry boat or airplane.
There are 3 ferry lines that service this island. Cedar Island, Swan Quarter and Hatteras. Cedar Island and Swan Quarter vehicle ferries require reservations and a small fee (see the NC Ferry Reservations website to reserve your date and time). The Hatteras vehicle ferry is free and first-come, first-serve. You may have to wait in line at Hatteras. The schedule for all ferries and reservations for Cedar Island and Swan Quarter are on the NC Ferry website (ferry.ncdot.gov)
No franchises are allowed on island so all the fish markets and restaurants are locally owed as are most all the businesses, family owned and operated. Restaurants get their fresh seafood directly from the local fishermen daily.
There are various festivals and special events throughout the season. Check out the Ocracoke Observer community newspaper website (ocracokeobserver.com) or Facebook page for up to date information on restaurant openings/closings and special events. This house sits within walking distance to it all.
You must text when you get on your ferry to establish an estimated arrival time for check in. ** NO CHECK INS AFTER 7:30PM WITHOUT SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS **
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a family friendly space with house rules and quiet hours posted in the rental agreement that you MUST read prior to booking. It's not a loud party house and OWNER reserves the right to cancel the booking (removing the guests), with or without refund, of any guests who do not abide by these house rules or demonstrate a lack of care towards the property or others while here.

Completely renovated in 2021, this tastefully decorated cottage has an open floor plan on the main floor, two separate living rooms, and a screened porch making it the perfect retreat for a family wanting to spread out or two couples wanting their own separate area. Located just at the entrance of the Sound Shores neighborhood, just a short walk or bike ride will get you to the Ocracoke Coffee Shop, restaurants, and shops. The well-equipped kitchen with a Keurig and snack bar opens to the living room and dining area complete with a wet bar and bar table. Upstairs is the second living room and bedroom with two queen beds. The living area upstairs provides privacy and comfort with an eating area and deck access. This light and airy property with hardwood floors through out will have you relax, comfortable, and as cozy as a clam! This property does not provide linens or towels, please inquire about rental options. *Limit 1 dog, under 30 lbs.

The Sea Glass Cottage is newly built waterfront property with amazing views of the Pamlico Sound. Enter through a screened porch where you can enjoy your evening cocktail safe from any pesky mosquitoes. The open concept dining and living areas are perfect for entertaining and socializing. There is a bedroom on the first floor with a queen bed. Upstairs are two very spacious bedrooms. One with a king bed and the other with 2 queen beds. The property has 2 full baths on each level. The deck is the ideal setting for watching the sunset over the sound. Cool off in the outdoor shower. This property is a Saturday to Saturday property and linens are not provided but you can either bring your own or rent them through us. Don't forget to bring your four legged fur baby because this amazing property is pet-friendly.

We didn't end up bringing the dog, but I appreciated having the freedom to do so if we needed to bring him. Nice clean updated house. Worked very well for the 2 of us. I do love to stay in and cook, so I noticed a few needed item. We couldn't find a cutting board and maybe an oyster shucking knife. otherwise being right on the water with the sound of the sea at night was a dream. Thank you so much. Sally"

You will find Hidden Jewel tucked away on historic Howard St just around the corner from Silver Lake Harbor. Enjoy panoramic views of the island, including Silver Lake Harbor and Pamlico Sound, from the shared rooftop deck. A perfect place for morning coffee or an evening beverage. There is also a private screened porch facing Howard Street, a one-way street that is a step back in time. First floor entry level has shared laundry with washer and dryer and a half bath. Large, open kitchen and dining area with a semiprivate sleeping area with two twin beds. One bedroom with king bed. Private entrance through screened porch and shared entrance with access to laundry room and half bathroom. Upstairs unit is occupied on a seasonal basis by year-round Ocracoke residents. There's a full kitchen with all the amenities. Separate dining and living spaces. Two bedrooms with King Beds. The space
Our apartment is a great couples get away. The living room has a sectional sofa and a great view of the harbor. A small two person balcony is perfect for your morning coffee. There's a dining room area with spacious seating for four. There's two bedrooms and each has a king bed and smart TV. There's only one bathroom but its set up jack and jill style with an additional door separating the two sinks.
Up a small open stairwell is the cupola and wet bar. Providing another great view of the harbor and the perfect spot for a quiet read or evening beverage.
The apartment is located above Ride The Wind Surf Shop in the heart of Ocracoke Village. There's shopping, restaurants and more just outside the door. All with a beautiful view of the harbor. There is water access to the harbor for kayak and paddleboards.

The space
Above the Grind is a large loft apartment designed with beach and nautical themes. The kitchen is perfect for cooking your favorite meal--possibly cooking fish you may have caught! We've tried to think of everything you may need for cooking all your meals. The open living space is comfortable and welcoming with an oversized built in couch, as well as a private reading nook. We've provided you with a work space for the times when you need to plug back in and get some work done. We offer a comfortable queen sized bed with lots of pillows and extra blankets. The loft is located in the heart of Ocracoke -- restaurants & shops are within walking/biking distance and the free tram located just out front stops at most every place--including the lighthouse!
*The loft is located above the bustling Ocracoke Coffee Company and the MiniBar. While every effort has been made to provide for a quiet, serene space, please be aware that below the apartment sits a busy atmosphere. Bakers and baristas arrive early in the morning. Locals, residents, and visitors alike begin visiting at 7am. It is our hope that you will not be disturbed by any "buzzing" (we have installed soundproof ceilings in the business below), We want you to be aware that below you the world is awake and you are welcome to come down and enjoy all the happenings!
Guest access
We provide one dedicated space for Above the Grind. It has been reserved for you with signage. This space will accommodate one vehicle. The space is not large enough to fit extra vehicles (trailers, golf carts, etc). There is additional parking at the NPS parking lot (about a 10 minute walk) but you will need to get a permit from the NPS office and during the busy season they often limit the number of nights allowed. Please plan accordingly.
Other things to note
Above the Grind is located above the Ocracoke Coffee Company. This means that there are approximately 18 stairs up to the loft. Getting your luggage, bags, and personal items from your parking space and up the stairs may be difficult for anyone with limited mobility. Unfortunately, we do not have an elevator or "dumb waiter" to assist you. The loft is perfect for one person or a couple as there is one bed separate from the rest of the loft by a 1/2 wall. Please note: limit of 2--strictly enforced.
