The Thomas McLin House.

A prominent local Coppersmith and merchant built this home for his daughter in 1822. While visiting New Bern stay in this historic 2 story federal style Apartment.

During the Great Fire of New Bern in 1922 the roof burnt, however the home was luckily able to be repaired and expanded in the federal style as two townhouse style apartments, as it remains today. The heart pine wood flooring outlines the original 1822 floor plan, while the 1922 upstairs addition constructed after the devastating great fire has southern yellow pine wood flooring. The original 1822 fireplace mantel remains, and the antique light fixtures make you feel as though you’ve been transported back in time.

You will be located within a short walk to many amentities such as shopping, restrauants, museums, and marinas. We are located 2 blocks from the historic Tryon Palace main gate and a couple more blocks from the NC History Museum. Whether you are touring the historical streets and sites of one of North Carolina’s colonial capitals or enjoying the neighborhood coffee shop, hunting for treasures at one of the many antique shops, taking a day trip to the beach, exploring coastal Carolina, or enjoying the micro-brewery a few blocks away, this is a convenient and great location to call home while you are visiting.

Comfy Corner - A Unique One Bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed in a condo room that is bigger than many hotel rooms. We love that it is surrounded by nature, places to walk, and ponds throughout the walking area. You have your own private keyed entrance. No one else has access to it during your stay.

It has room darkening curtains making it a great place to sleep. We have a coffee maker with coffee pods. There is a small table and 2 chairs, a luggage rack, and a TV with over the air channels and a fire stick where you can access your own apps.

We have a beautiful public golf course open 7 days unless there is an event; and "The Pointe" restaurant on site is open 5 days a week, Wednesdays through Sundays. On Mondays and Tuesdays we have food trucks that are located in the parking lot of the bank's ATM.

There are many excellent restaurants in Downtown New Bern. Morgan' s Tavern is our favorite. The Marina has a small store and we have a Dollar General a few miles away where you can pick up various items. It does not have a kitchen but it does have a small refrigerator, separate freezer, and a microwave and a coffee maker with coffee pods and tea bags. It is a great place to visit and/or look around if you are planning to move to this area!

We have an activity center with an in-door and outdoor pool, hot tub, miniature golf, the Marina and a small store at the Mariana. I would meet you there to get up to 2 tickets for one day passes. You cannot live in the 3 surrounding counties of Craven, Pamlico or Jones County; otherwise a valid ID with home address and state will allow me to get you two passes.

There are events in town and in Fairfield Harbour throughout the year. New Bern is the Colonial Capital of North Carolina. It is a very quaint, historical town. There is Mum Fest, the Ghost Walk, The Firefighters Museum, The Pepsi Museum and Tryon Palace as well as historical churches and sections of the City, to name a few popular sites and events. There are walking trails and the unit is walking distance to the Fishing Pier.

You can spend a few nights, a week, or longer; but you don't have to spend a fortune! Check in is at 3:00 pm and Check out is at 11:00 am. Please feel free to ask for extensions of check in and out by contacting me. Whenever no one else is checking in or out, I can extend a certain amount of time for your convenience!

- "Our family of four spent two nights in the house and it was the perfect place for us. The house is right downtown, so easy walking distance to Tryon Palace, shops and restaurants (we recommend the pizza place across the street!) The interior of the house is quite charming, with every little detail making you feel as if you're reliving the Victorian era. With one king, one queen, a pull out couch and blow up mattress, there’s plenty of space for everyone. The space is dog friendly, so the whole family can stay. The kitchen contains all the basics, and there is a washer and dryer available for use. The walk in shower and working elevator create a fully accessible space for handicapped individuals.

The apartment is located next door to the birthplace of Pepsi, where you can enjoy an ice cold Pepsi while touring the small museum. High quality bars and restaurants line the streets, as well as small stores with unique gifts and souvenirs. Down the road, you can learn all about New Bern’s history in Tryon Palace and Union Park. Come explore this historic town and enjoy the adventures it brings! We do not currently have a designated parking space for the property yet. We are working on this issue however, there is street and lot parking available in town that is less than a block away.

- "We have visited New Berns usually every 3 months for several years. This home is the perfect getaway for us. Charles and Mary were the perfect host and always responded to any questions both before and during our stay. The home is lovely. The living room is quite generous, as is the kitchen. The bathroom features a lovely walk in shower. When Charles and Mary had this revamped they did a tremendous job in tying in the historic features but providing modern luxury. The induction range was a surprise and since I love to cook it proved to be a real treat. Probably one of the most important thing to my husband and me is Location. This was the best spot we ever stayed at. We could easily access the river walk; was walkable to every wonderful restaurant in New Bern, could enjoy the beauty of the historic homes...and the list goes on. Would I stay here again? You bet.
