- "Super cute little cottage in Manteo! This was our first time not staying oceanfront but this little town didn’t disappoint. We still spent most of our time at the beach and found the closest public beach access to be about 15 minutes away which isn’t terrible. It was within close proximity to nags head as well so we didn’t have to drive far for eating out/shopping. My only complaint is that there’s no TV in the bedroom and the TV in the living room only picked up a few channels, and the pillows were a little uncomfy. Otherwise was an excellent stay in a super cute location and would definitely recommend/stay here again!"

Nicely equipped kitchenette includes small refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, Keurig coffee maker. Eating area comfortably seats two adults. Outdoor gas grill. Waterfront deck access with gorgeous views. Ideal space for vacationing adults 25 years and older. No pets please. The apartment has a separate and dedicated entrance with guest parking. Excellent couples getaway.

I enjoyed some me-time browsing the independent shops and art galleries across the street. Our room was peaceful, clean, beautiful and roomy enough for two adults and two teenagers. We felt like we were lounging at home rather than a "hotel". The staff was just amazing! Very friendly and helpful! The lobby and restaurant area of the Inn were very relaxing with amazing marina views. We will return at first chance! The Tranquil House Inn was great for our family of four, but also perfect for a couples get-a-way or a rejuvenating solo retreat for mom!"

- "We were passing through and stayed in Manteo for the night at Tranquil House In n, which is right on the water. The hotel is a little older but they have really cared for the property well. The office staff was super helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer and visited all the shops and restaurants. We did have time to see The Lost Colony in their outdoor amphitheater. From the costumes to the music this was such a well done performance!"

The Garden apartment is a one room efficiency apartment. It has a kitchenette with everything we could think of you may need to use while you stay with us, however due to local regulations we don’t have a range available. Along with a full size refrigerator. There is also a washer/ dryer for your use.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire apartment, ( living/sleeping, kitchenette, bathroom/ laundry area , along with a covered porch for your private use. We would love for you to walk around our gardens!!

Our lovely home , built in 1892 is located on Roanoke Island .
Just minutes from downtown Manteo. You can get there either on foot or on one of the bikes we provide.
Surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens , feel free to wander and listen to the birds sing.
You will be staying in an attached apartment behind our house.

The space
The apartment has one bedroom, living room, bathroom ( shower only) and an equipped kitchen. Due to local restrictions we can not have a stove. However we do supply a combo microwave, convection oven and air fryer, along with a hot water kettle, toaster, hot plate and out side grill. If anything else is needed we will gladly supply it.

Guest access
You will have the entire upstairs apartment to yourself., along with a private porch. You do have a private entrance with keypad entrance so you can gain entry anytime. Feel free to wander through our gardens.

Other things to note
This is an upstairs apartment so stairs will need to be used. We have two dogs, Polly our 18 year old beagle and Harper our poodle.They are both friendly and are with us at all times. We also have an outdoor cat that you may see.

Located in the quaint, seaside town centrally located between the string of islands known as the Outer Banks of North Carolina, my historic home offers a newly-converted detached apartment nestled in the lush, backyard flower gardens. The apartment is very private and is a pleasant 5-minute walk to downtown Manteo where you will find shops, restaurants, a playground, a walking path along the marina and surrounding harbor, and Roanoke Island Festival Park which hosts musical events and more.

The space
The large, one-room apartment has a kitchenette, pantry, washer and dryer, armoire, cedar chest, two loveseats, a queen bed, internet and a Roku TV. In addition, beach chairs, towels, umbrella, cooler, beach games, boogie boards and surf boards are available for guest use.

Guest access
Reserved, off-street parking takes guests to a brick walkway which leads to a porch and a locked area that contains a kitchenette and beach supply. The apartment door has a coded lock. Guests will receive key access and the code at the time of booking. There is another keyed door that accesses the backyard gardens and deck area.

Other things to note
Though there is only one queen bed in the apartment, there are two short sofas that could accommodate small children. No pets allowed, however.
The kitchen area in the apartment does not have a stove; however the kitchenette offers a Keurig coffee pot, toaster, microwave and air fryer. I suspect you will be more interested in downtown restaurants though!

This Shallowbag Bay waterfront condo sits on the marina near downtown Manteo, North Carolina. If you enjoy boating or fishing, Park your boat for up to 2 weeks just outside of the condo.
It offers a modern and luxurious decor that will allow you to relax while enjoying the calming views of the marina.
Bike, walk or drive the short distance to Downtown Manteo where you'll find numerous shops, restaurants and waterfront attractions.

The "hall of art" is an art galleries Laney Layton of Edenton working as an artist since 1973. Just look for her signatures. You tube "tour of Manteo nc" to see this special location in the heart of downtown on a 3rd floor overlooking the lighthouse and Shallowbag bay. Walk to restaurants, bars, shops, docks, and Festival Park/Elizabeth II. Visit The Lost Colony/Fort Raleigh/Elizabethan Gardans, NC Aquarium, Jockey's Ridge, and Much More. IF booked please look for our 2nd floor apt.

The space
If you want to bring your boat, there is a free Town dock on the Lighthouse pier that you can see from the apartment. Also the Farmers Market sets up right out front in the park mid May thru mid Sept on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm (weather permitting).

If you you tube "tour of Manteo nc" you can find some great videos that show you the local area. We are a very short walk to Festival park where many great music shows take place.

We cannot make accommodations for extra guests or children as it is not planned for the younger set nor is it child-proofed. We love our pets, but we cannot allow them in the unit. These decisions were not made lightly so please understand they are part of the rules and we do not sway from them.

Wellington's Retreat is located in Shallowbag Bay Marina in Manteo, NC. Manteo is a perfect place to visit in the Outer Banks! It is less touristy than places such as Nags Head or Kitty Hawk, but still includes tons of fun things to do and is only a 10 minute drive to Nags Head. The condo has views of the North Carolina sound from every room, which is perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets each day!

This suite is ideal for families, couples traveling together or guests who simply like more room. Two bedrooms, each with king beds and private bathrooms, make this suite convenient and comfortable.
