HOUSE RULES:

- No smoking allowed (weed or cigarettes) - evidence will incur a $500 minimum fine. Please smoke away from the home away from windows or doors and dispose of cigarette butts properly.

- Any visitors must also be listed in the guest count. Minimum fine of $50 per person per night will apply for any undisclosed guests. The city is strict about maximum occupancy including visitors and we cannot allow more than the max guest count at any one time.

- Please observe a 9 p.m.- 8 a.m. quiet hour for our neighbors. They are our utmost priority to continue to operate short term rentals for years to come. Noise violations are taken seriously and will have one courtesy warning before removal without repayment for nights unspent.

- Our place is not for parties. $500 minimum fine for parties. A party is defined by any more than 10 occupants in the home at any one time. No refund will be given for nights unspent if we are forced to terminate the reservation due to a party. We want you to have a great time with up to 10 guests in the house maximum, including any visitors. This is a residential area and our neighbors rely on us not to disrupt the community. We want to continue to do short term rentals for a long time so please help us respect our neighbors.

- Please note while the home is cleaned very thoroughly between stays and air filters changed regularly, we do allow dogs at the home. Those with severe allergies will need to consider our home’s suitability for their unique needs.

- No refunds will be given for COVID-19 or weather related cancellations. Please consider purchasing trip insurance that covers any unforeseen circumstances. Please note during hurricane season our area is prone to inclement weather.

- $75 per hour charge for not checking out on time. Please communicate if you need more time, if we can accommodate we will not charge a fee.

- If our property has a grill, please clean after use to avoid an extra $75 grill cleaning charge.

- Ice makers are an extra amenity and no refunds will be given if they are not functioning properly.

- If equipment is used that would make the utilities charge become excessive, that will be charged back to the renter.

- Any cleaning or maintenance issues must be addressed to the host. We must be able to attempt to fix the issue before offering refunds. If an issue is not addressed during the stay, no refunds will be provided.

- Stays over 60 days will require a clean every 30 days included in your booking fee.

- An application, screening, signed lease and deposit is required for 90+ day rentals-please inquire for more details. Bookings over 90 days are brokered by Sojourn Realty.

- Guest agrees to complete a third-party encrypted ID verification independent of the platform booked on for security purposes. If the guest does not complete the verification or if the host is not comfortable with the screening results, host may cancel the reservation with full refund to the guest.

- Please note that we do not do shoveling or snow removal. Use caution in case of these situations, as we are not to be held liable.

- This home is not pet friendly, any undisclosed pets on the property will incur a $300 fine plus any damages or extra cleaning charges. We do ask that service animals are disclosed and emotional support animals need to have valid documentation prior to the start of stay.

We transformed our attached garage with heat and a ac unit a pullout couch to offer extra sleeping space. Four 75inch tvs for our guests to enjoy a movie or catch the game on a 150”screen modern kitchen, two full bathrooms, two patios, and televisions in each bedroom and living room. A pool and hot tub and we also have a 9hole miniature golf for our guests to enjoy. Hot tub and miniature golf is year round. Pool is seasonal.

The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet as advertised. Jane was very responsive and checked in with us to make sure everything was in order. We really enjoyed touring the Battleship Wisconsin at Nauticus, which was a 10-15 minute drive. Would stay here again without hesitation, and we highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to stay in the area. Humorous anecodote: Our niece came by to visit after the graduation and said," This place is really nice. I want my house to look like this someday!""

Guests are given two parking spots in the driveway, we are not responsible for any incidents that occur with street parking.

• Absolutely no smoking in or near the building. Any smoking must be outdoors and at least 25 ft from the property. Guests will be fined if smoking policy is violated.
• No parties or events (gatherings over max occupancy will be shut down immediately unless previously approved by host)

• Glitter of any kind is not allowed in the unit. Any sign of glitter throughout the unit will result in an immediate $100 cleaning remediation fee.

•Up to 2 house trained pets (dogs and cats only) are allowed in the rental. We just ask the following:

-When pets are left alone, ideally, they are left in crates. Otherwise, the doors to the bedroom and bathroom should be left shut.

Port Norfolk is a Historic District featuring Victorian homes, located very near the Portsmouth end of the Mid-Town Tunnel (to Norfolk). This location is very convenient to the principal medical complex in Norfolk (Sentara Norfolk General, CHKD and EVMS are just through the tunnel). And you could not be closer to the Portsmouth Port Facilities, the Portsmouth Naval Hospital or Maryview Hospital. The Interstate access is only 1/4 mile away.

The space
The house is a "duplex", and the apartment we have listed is the upstairs unit, which consists of the entire second floor of the house, complete with kitchen, bathroom, large living room, bedroom and separate entrance. The downstairs of the house is a separate apartment, where the tenants are two older ladies who have lived there for over 7 years.

Parking is available on the wide street in front of the house (never a shortage of spaces), and also behind the house (there is an alley for access to those parking spaces).

The neighborhood is very walkable, with nice sidewalks. The best walking destination is the Elizabeth River, five blocks away. There is a short walking path beside the river. There are not many restaurants or stores within the neighborhood, but there are plenty of historic homes to see.
