Our single-family home is the perfect place to unwind after a fun-filled day in Virginia. Built in 2018, it offers 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The first-floor master bedroom is very convenient for older guests, and the large walk-in closet has been thoughtfully converted into a cozy kids’ room, complete with a portable crib and toys—ideal for families traveling with little ones.

The open-concept kitchen is perfect for family gatherings and spending time together. We’ve also added a backyard playground for children to enjoy, along with a water feature and firepit where adults can relax while keeping an eye on the kids.

Please be respectful of this and honor the quiet time of 10pm-6am.

You will have everything you need and if you should need a little more- literally around the corner and a block away are restaurants and shops that will provide! Within driving distance are many local gems- depending on your patate. We always 'Waze' and Google about an hour out, order take away, and enjoy in our VRBO. Walks near the water are near, and even a stroll through the surrounding neighborhood is relaxing. Beds are comfortable, the air conditioning system is easy; simply twist to the right and then to the desired setting to the left and two minutes later cool air will fill the room! As described in the listing, but with an added touch of a good 'feel' when you're actually settled in the house. We would stay again if we were in the area, and would refer this house to anyone in the area. There is plenty of parking off street- we were able to park directly in front of the house with spaces available a few spaces 'down'. An overall A+!"

- "It was a great stay at the Hilton Home. It is a well equipped little house, and perfect for our family of husband, wife, 6 year old, and 2 year old. The kitchen had everything we needed including but not limited to: keurig machine with pods/tea, toaster, blender, immersion blender, nice glass large and small plates and bowls, salt and pepper, lite olive oil, pots and pans, dish soap, hand towels, scotch-brite pad, and a full set of kitchen knives. The grass had been freshly mowed shortly before we arrived.There was absolutely no mustiness in the house. The water pressure in the upstairs bath was perfectly adequate. Conveniently located in Newport News, VA between Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach, the Hilton Village neighborhood was built between 1918 and 1921 in response to the need for housing during World War I for employees of Newport News Shipbuilding. It is recognized as the United States' first Federal war-housing project.

The Camellia Cottage was built in 1919 and is 1500 square feet. Naturally, it will have a few quirks due to generations of family enjoyment. It is a beautiful property, and we hope that you embrace its character and charm during your visit.

In addition to short-term visits, we welcome mid- term stays! For traveling nurses, doctors, professionals, and your families, the cottage is minutes away from Riverside Regional Medical Center, Sentara Hospital, and Mary Immaculate Hospital. The cottage is also close to Ft. Eustis Army Base, Langley Airforce Base, and the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station. We are also in a very quiet neighborhood with a dedicated workspace. Special pricing is available for 7+ or 28 day stays.

The house has a large primary bedroom upstairs equipped with a queen and twin bed. The second bedroom upstairs has a queen bed. The full bathroom with a tub is also upstairs.

The eat-in kitchen is equipped with coffee/ tea supplies, spices, and everything you will need for a home-cooked meal. Additionally, there is a large dining room that is able to seat six guests for an elegant dinner together.

Also, downstairs is a lovely living room and sunroom. You can enjoy watching children playing and neighbors walking their dogs. There is a fireplace, so you can relax at night with heating and color-producing faux fire logs.

The third bedroom, which doubles as a family room, is downstairs and has a very comfortable sleeper sofa. This room includes a designated workspace and also exits to the outdoor patio for relaxing around the firepit, grilling, or enjoying what nature has to offer. We are still working on landscaping the backyard, so we request you look beyond any areas that have been seeded but have not yet begun growing grass.

This indoor wonderland and the forest is all yours to enjoy. This loft is ideal for flexcations and long-term stays.

Because this is a business district with a business office/establishment located on the first floor the quite times are from 8am-5pm. This quite time is strict and enforced. See House Rules and Community Guidelines for more details.

This is a mixed-use building. There is a business establishment on the 1st floor. The apartment is located above the business on the 2nd floor. Therefore, there is a strict quiet time from 8am-5pm.
-No loud music, no loud noise.
-No parties - or guests not on the reservation. We will escort you off the property, fine you an administrative fee of $2,000.00 and your will not receive a refund for your stay. If need be the police will be contacted.
-No events.
-No local visitors.
-No more than five persons in the home per reservation, violation of this will result in $500 fine per day of your reservation. Eviction. No refund.
-Everyone in the loft/apartment/home must be on the reservation. If they are not. Eviction. No refund.

-No pets
-No smoking of any kind including e-cigarettes & no burning of any kind including sage, incense, etc. This will result in additional cleaning fee is $350 per day
-No modifications. Once your reservation is confirmed no modifications can be made to your reservation without additional fees, administrative fee, cleaning fee, etc.

-Please take the trash to the trash can located right outside the back door during your stay. We have provided extra trash bags.

The weather didn't cooperate, and my tennis team, which was participating in a tournament, ended up fizzling out and withdrawing from the tournament. This adorable apartment has one bedroom and one bath. Located in the heart of the Hilton Village shops. Close to several restaurants, ice cream, retail shops, and beaches! The neighborhood is very walkable with sidewalks and parks. Please note the apartment is on the second floor of the building. There are stairs to get to to the entrance. Please note our beloved International House of Beauty is over 100 years old. The building was built in 1917 during WWI. We tried to keep as much of the history in tack. By doing so there will be some unique qualities and blemishes that are original to the building.

As you know we are located close to the beach and sand does make its way into the apartment.

We are also located between two popular eateries and less than a half-mile from the beach. The building is treated monthly by a pest control company, but from time to time a stray bug may make its way in. As a guest, the best ways to avoid these are to keep the exterior door and windows closed, keep all food covered and sealed, and by removing the trash regularly.

Safety: There is on site parking with a flood light and security camera. There are two motion lights that will keep the steps lighted for you if you enter in the evenings.

Pack n Play, baby gate, and high chair are available if requested.

The home is over 100 years old, so charming but also has its quirks as in letting the hot water run in the sink or shower for a few minutes to warm up before getting into shower. And best not to plug in hair dryer same time as heater is running or will trip breaker. But just a quick text and that will be fixed.
Guest access
You can access the suite by obtaining key through the key box at front door. Code will be provided to you at time of reservation. The suite is completely private and separate from downstairs of house. There is a completely different locked door to access downstairs. But owner uses door on side of house not that door.
Other things to note
Guests will have their own private driveway that brings them right to the front door that leads up to the studio. Strictly only for 2 guests, any additional will be charged. For longer stays more than a week, single occupancy only

Welcome to my home. The upstairs bedroom is a large room which has a queen size bed along with a compact refrigerator and microwave . Your private -Full bath, tub, shower, etc. is just two steps from your room. TV is limited but I do have, the internet .
My dogs Fluffy, Scruffy and Tinkerbelle are fur-free.
Walking through the Gate in the back yard fence connects you to the Main St. with the 1600's Courthouse, a Saturday seasonal Farmer's market, museum, shops, Cure coffee Shop, fooderies, pub, etc. almost all at your doorstep! As God's moral laws are honored here in our Christian home we welcome guests that are single and heterosexual couples whose union have been blessed by marriage.

This is a basement apartment, with full length windows through out, and a spacious bedroom and kitchen and dining room. Please keep in mind you will get the full historic experience, as this 1700’s house has original exposed beams, and a uniquely laid out bathroom, several uneven thresholds, - 6’4 shower— and many more charms and oddities. Come prepared for the full experience! There is also a dog on the property, though you may only meet her in the yard every once in a while— and likely never hear her bark! Additionally this is an apartment, and a family of six lives in the house upstairs. Their living quarters are separated by a floor, but you may here them come and go through their front door.

Your access will be through the main front door, with a shared foyer, and your locked apartment will be down a set of historic stairs.

Parlors (common rooms) and second floor bedrooms have antique furnishings for an elegant, romantic ambiance. The top floor attic level Tower Suite adds to the nostalgic feel with cozy, vintage charm. Our property contains a large private parking area for guests. We also offer kitchen amenities, as well as a laundry facility. Our sister store Mansion House Art & Antiques is open on the weekends for you to enjoy and browse through. Come see us and take home a little rememberance of your trip.

Guest access
You may rent an individual room or multiple rooms for either lodging or bed and breakfast reservations. The first-floor parlors and sun porch are common areas that guests can enjoy. We also offer private vacation house rental accommodations for groups up to 12 which allows for usage of the residential size kitchen and laundry facility. We offer three different rooms to choose from. Our master has one queen bed and a large spacious bathroom. It does have an additional bedroom that is attached which contains a full-size bed however that room is a separate rental fee. Our Eastlake contains two full beds and a private bath with a clawfoot tub. Both the Master and the Eastlake are on our second floor. The third floor is our tower room which contains a queen, a full, and daybed. It has its own private bath. Please note that the property does contain a great number of stairs and is not ADA compliant. All bathrooms contain step-in tubs/showers. We do not have any walk-in tubs/showers. We are not a pet friendly property due to the historic nature of the property. Due to the historic nature and irreplaceable contents the property is not suitable for younger children. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Please note that guardians are responsible for any damages done to the property or its contents.

During your stay
Our estate manager is always accessible for your needs, or questions. We strive to make you feel like you're in the comfort of your own home. We have made lifelong relationships with our guests, and we value each one as if they were family. We are accommodating of specific dietary needs which include everything from gluten free to vegan. The owner Ms. Betty Clark is a native of Smithfield and is known loved by many. We value our guests and strive to make your stay the best that it can possibly be. We even include a homemade treat. Our guests love our chocolate bundt cake.

Other things to note
As a business we incur both state and local county taxes. Airbnb started collecting state occupancy tax in Virginia with reservations made since July 1. We still have to remit a 6% local transient occupancy tax for Isle of Wight County which will need to be collected from you upon your arrival.

Location: Mansion on Main fronts Main St. at the stop light of Main St. and N. Church St., which runs alongside the house. Please use the backsteps to enter property directly in front of the parking area.

Exterior doors remain locked for security purposes, so please give us a courtesy call so that our manager can personally greet you upon arrival.

Parking: There is a private drive with ample parking just behind the house. Please park there and then contact our manger so you can be promptly greeted.

Damages: Guests are financially responsible for unnecessary damage to furnishings, including infractions of the no smoking policy.

Security: Only paying guests are allowed within the residence. This is strongly enforced.

Fire Hazards/Smoking Damage: The Mansion is strictly non-smoking as is the property. smoking of any kind including vapes is not permitted. We also do not allow open flames of any kind. No BBQs are permitted on the property.

The space

The rooms are large & spacious to fit your entertainment needs. Upon entering the backside of the home, you are greeted with the peaceful presence of the Sun Room. A perfect place to sit with your morning coffee, watching the sun rise over the fields & trees. Keep an eye out for deer, they love to make an appearance in the mornings.

The house still has many of its historical traits like the original hardwood floors, doors/handles, fireplaces in almost every room, & many antiques from the house's history.

In the living room, you will find a comfortable couch & recliner as well as a 55" Smart TV, perfect for movie nights! Connected is a full bathroom with a large mirror (great for getting ready) & a walk in shower.

The kitchen has everything you need to prepare, cook, & store your food. We recommend eating together in the dining room for a family style experience. Don't stop with the meal, in this room you will find several board games to keep the good times going.

Connected from the dining room you will enter what was Oak Level's main entrance. Notice the restored hardwood floors, original to the home, & large entryway. The Sitting Room was created to entertain guests before & after meals. Now a great space to sneak away to read a book on the antique couch or wrap up that last work task on the desk before your vacation can truly begin.

Upstairs you encounter the 4 comfortable bedrooms. Every room includes a dresser or large closet to hang your clothes & store your luggage. Take note of the full bathroom with an antique cast iron tub. Take a bath as you stare into the countryside.

This house is rich with history surviving two major wars (Revolutionary & Civil). A surprising fact: only two families have ever owned the property: Francis Young (builder) & his descendants up until 1925, John Godwin & his descendants who care for the house today.

Plenty of room for parking & Free WiFi (modem located in the laundry room).

Visit Main Street for great antique shops & local restaurants. Take a quick drive & free ferry ride to Colonial Williamsburg or Jamestown.

Things to Note:
1. This is a Farmhouse. Surrounding the property are active crop fields and forests. This tends to bring animals (deer, groundhogs, etc.) and bugs. We treat the house quarterly for pests and insects but some might sneak through. The farmers use lady bugs as a natural pest control, as opposed to harmful chemicals. Some tend to find their way into the home.

2. Smithfield is a country town. If you're coming from a city you might be shocked at how quiet and peaceful you will feel, especially at night. The house is only 15 min from grocery stores and restaurants and there are fun things to do around the county but you will have to drive a ways for city-oriented activities. Our recommendation is to embrace the slow living, bring more traditional activities (board games, cards, sports equipment) and enjoy the limited screen, relaxing on the porch living.

You have full access to the house & property. One closet is locked for storage purposes, as well as the basement (currently being renovated for future exciting purposes)
