Property is protected by a privacy fence that extends all the way to the river and mature trees provide additional privacy. The house has river views from 2 bedrooms, a dining area, and a sunroom. Our house is a very unique, spacious setting that provides my family and friends a place to stay when they are in town. We live in the front part of the house while the guest section is in the 2nd half. It is completely separated from our living space as guest have their own private entrance along with soundproof walls and doors. Located a half mile right of Highway 17, we are in the PERFECT location for individuals coming from all different directions. The property is completely separated from everything else with 50 acres of farmland and beautiful scenic views. Don't let this fool you though, we are around 5 minutes away from town, shopping centers, grocery stores, etc. The unique "Barn" look is one of a kind in the area with plenty of room for parking. We also have a huge patio area with 2 outdoor showers and a 6 hole putt putt course with TV and a scoreboard.

Ask about our HUGE Baseball/Softball Hitting Facility along with humongous space for guest to hangout in. This is located right behind our house. 2 bathrooms, kitchen, couches, chairs, 7 TVs (98 and 85 inch). This is a SEPARATE FEE from the VRBO house but very reasonable price. Please ask for more info on this very cool setup where guest can just hangout in!!

I realize how important family time is and the cost of things these days which is one of the reasons why I do this. Family and friends are a big part of my life and this provides me the opportunity to see them more often. When they are not in town, this house can be used by families from all over without having to stress about paying a ton of money. This is the perfect place to stay for a very reasonable price that offers several things other places can not.
This place is also great for the ones who are traveling to the Outer Banks and want to get that extra day of vacation without having to burn a vacation day on the road all day. We are only an hour away and great opportunity for families big or small to stay, get up early, and beat the traffic to enjoy an extra day at the beach. We even had some groups stay here the whole week or weekend and commute back and forth to save money on the overpriced rates the beach offers.

I enjoyed the open, dormitory-style setup on the upper level, with the large-screen TV. The sofa was extremely comfortable. The kitchenette did have a full-size refrigerator, which was helpful. This property has been set up to provide the most comfortable sleeping and lounging experience possible as well as convenience. Bedroom lamps have USB and outlet ports with one room having USB nightstands with an outlet port for each. All Mattresses are brand new and not too soft and not too firm. Each room has drawer storage in every bedroom, with two large closets in the queen and master bedroom and a large chest of drawers in the twin bedroom.

The living room seating is designed to provide a cozy and comfortable experience for the family or friends with an overstuffed sectional and LED light for a calming atmosphere.

Also, enjoy a spacious fenced backyard if you wish to stretch outside or let your kids run free.

- "It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with a good location. The place was clean-ish, but could be more clean. There were no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, which made for a damp smell and a humid area to get ready for the day. Barely any extra amenities like linens, pillows, towels, washcloths, or toilet paper. There is a washer and drier but no laundry soap to use. An ok place to stay in a pinch, but not my first choice."

- "The host was good with communication ahead of time. Upon arrival, the home was in what appeared to be a state of abandonment. The code the host gave was right and we were able to get in. The AC was not on, so it was almost 90 degrees and the house smelled musky. There was what looked like a months worth of mail on the kitchen counter along with some tools (maybe from previous maintenance?). The floors and counters were sticky and there was pubic hair stuck to the counter in a few spots. Several windows were found to be open, without screens. One was unable to be shut down due to frame damage. There were old family pictures on the walls and the closets were full of coats and clothes. There were a lot of dead bugs (live ones too) and also signs that mice were in the house. The whole house was as if it had been abandoned and then sat for several months without being occupied. My girlfriend and I sat on the couch trying to make up our mind if we would stay or try to find a new place. While sitting down, we both began to itch where the couch was touching us. So we decided we would not be able to stay. On the way out the door, the front door was hard to shut and lock because it did not have a door handle. Only a keypad. This only compounded my frustrations, especially after driving 6 hours to get there. I called the host and told him there was no way we could stay the night. He was very understanding and had VRBO send us a full refund. With cleaning, it could be an OK place to stay"

The home features two separate units, so it’s possible the downstairs unit may be occupied by other guests during your stay. However, your space remains completely private—the interior connecting door is securely locked and double-bolted on both sides, ensuring full separation and safety.

For added peace of mind, there is also a pull gate at the top of the stairs that can be secured and locked for your protection, especially helpful for families.

The space
Our house is a very unique, one of a kind spacious setting that provides my family and friends a place to stay when they are in town. We live in the front part of the house while the Airbnb section is in the 2nd half. It is completely separated from our living space as guest have their own private entrance along with soundproof walls and doors. Located a half mile right of Highway 17, we are in the PERFECT location for individuals coming from all different directions. The property is completely separated from everything else with 50 acres of farmland and beautiful scenic views. Don't let this fool you though, we are around 5 minutes away from town, shopping centers, grocery stores, etc. The unique "Barn" look is one of a kind in the area with plenty of room for parking. We also have a huge patio area with 2 outdoor showers and a 6 hole putt putt course with TV and a scoreboard.

Ask about our HUGE Baseball/Softball Hitting Facility along with humongous space for guest to hangout in. This is located right behind our house/Airbnb. 2 bathrooms, kitchen, couches, chairs, 7 TVs (98 and 85 inch). This is a SEPARATE FEE from the Airbnb but very reasonable price. Please ask for more info on this very cool setup where guest can just hangout in!!

I realize how important family time is and the cost of things these days which is one of the reasons why I do this. Family and friends are a big part of my life and this provides me the opportunity to see them more often. When they are not in town, this house can be used by families from all over without having to stress about paying a ton of money. This is the perfect place to stay for a very reasonable price that offers several things other places can not.
This place is also great for the ones who are traveling to the Outer Banks and want to get that extra day of vacation without having to burn a vacation day on the road all day. We are only an hour away and great opportunity for families big or small to stay, get up early, and beat the traffic to enjoy an extra day at the beach. We even had some groups stay here the whole week or weekend and commute back and forth to save money on the overpriced rates the beach offers.

Be our guest in the newly remodeled River City Lodge, which is believed to be one of the oldest Masonic buildings in NC that housed the Oddfellows fraternity, built around 1847. The Lodge houses 3 Airbnb suites, with the Munro suite and Lighthouse suite on the upstairs floor, and the Secret room that is pet friendly on the downstairs floor.

The Lighthouse suite is a studio space with queen size bed, an oversized chair with pull out bed, full kitchenette and full bathroom.

We recently opened the River City Biergarten downstairs and are open on Thursdays and Fridays from 4pm-8pm. Join us for a cold beer!

The space
Be our guest in the newly remodeled River City Lodge, which is believed to be one of the oldest Masonic buildings in NC that housed the Oddfellows fraternity, built around 1847. The Lodge houses 3 Airbnb suites, with the Munro suite and Lighthouse suite on the upstairs floor, and the Secret room on the downstairs floor.

The Secret room is a studio space with queen size bed, a kitchenette and full bathroom.

We recently opened the River City Biergarten in the courtyard and are open on Thursdays and Fridays from 4pm-8pm. Join us for a cold beer!

Guest access
The lodge sits on property adjacent to our home, and offers a downstairs gathering space, the “Leatherneck Lounge” that provides a pool table for guests to enjoy (with quiet hours from 9pm-6am) and washer and dryer free of charge. The space
The bedroom suite for this listing "Roosevelt Room" did indeed come out of the Gatehouse of the F.D.R Historic homesite in my home town of Hyde Park NY. My husbands grandparents knew Franklin and Eleanor and received this suite as a gift with Eleanor stating "It would not be exceptable in the new mansion". With that being said, Our home has many antiques and we'll be glad to tell you about them if you desire to know. We live here full time and come and go throughout the day. Please be respectful of your surroundings and the items within that area as well as to other guests.
For our Guests, Our Chef creates on-site made morning baked goods using locally grown fruits, organic eggs, and real butter; and of course coffee & tea are included. This is available between 7:30 am to 9:00 am. We understand the potential of restricted diets & will try to accommodate these but only with ADVANCE notice so please send us a message before arrival.

Call/Message BEFORE coming through the front gate when you first arrive. Please notice the sign at the front gate. The interaction with our dogs will be more enjoyable; Thereafter you will use the back door and gate to come and go.

During your stay
We will be happy to interact with you as much as you desire. The 2 dogs will always look for a head pat or ear rub. If you have questions about anything, please ask us. Located in the Riverside Neighborhood of Elizabeth City, originally known as the cabbage patch, this little house is a few blocks from the river and about 1 mile from the downtown waterfront. We are located 50 minutes to the Atlantic Ocean!

Our little house includes access to the large fenced in yard, which is shared with the main house on the property. We have one extremely friendly hound to humans, but unfortunately she is picky with other dog friends so no other pets are allowed.

The space
Experience tiny living in this 576 square foot home, previously converted from a 2 car garage. It includes a full kitchen, dining space, 3/4 bath, one bedroom and one living room. All on the ground floor.

Please note: this is a SMALL house with a SMALL bathroom and SMALL kitchen. The price of the listing is meant to reflect that. Although tiny, it is fully functional for up to 2 people.

Furthermore, this is located in a residential neighborhood, so you may hear neighbors mowing or blowing their lawn in the mornings. My partner and I are rehabbing the main house next door, so we will be in and out (possibly using power tools) however we will make sure it outside of quiet hours.
