Double french doors opened to a small terrace (table, 2 chairs) overlooking a fairway of the on-site 9-hole golf course. Green fees ($20/pp) were included with our stay, so we played a round on the same day we arrived. No need to book a tee-time or anything. Rented a hodge-podge bag of clubs for $20. Loads of fun! So, no Cafe on site, but there were several decent spots within a 5-10 minute drive."

The upper level is impressively spacious with its central kitchen and huge living areas with wood fire opening out through french doors to the veranda where guests can relax, enjoy a meal and take in the magnificent views. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with champagne, wine and soft drinks glasses, cups, plates, dishes, side plates and all cutlery for 24 guests.

The main lounge has a full entertainment system: 65in Sony TV, Sky sport, Spotify, Netflix, Blue ray DVD player, selection of DVD's and high speed wireless internet. The second lounge has two sofas, TV with freeview, Playstation 3 and DVD, plus a 6 foot studio grand piano for musicians to enjoy. The second kitchen has oven, hob, fridge, freezer and seats eight.

Set on 18 acres of native New Zealand bush with sealed driveway, flat lawn, established garden and fruit trees, the Lodge is close to Ecozip with the Batch Winery and restaurant within east walking distance.

The bedrooms are located on the lower level with a large verandah shaded by bush with hanging chairs and a jacuzzi bath for one (or two).

Notes on bed layout - Bookabach/Homeaway counts a bunk bed as one bed whereas one bunk bed means two separate beds (one bed on top, one underneath). So without using either of the fold out sofas, there are beds to sleep 19 people separately and 24 if couples share the king and queen beds. The couch in the living is a double sleeper/foldout couch so we can accommodate an extra person. The bunks bed in the small bedroom is designed for children, not teenagers or adults. There are sheets and towels along with shampoo or toiletries you may need. The bathroom has great water pressure with scorching hot water. All pots, pans and any kitchen utensils you could need are here, if you want to cook please go ahead. There are basic scullery items provided such as oil, salt, pepper, coffee, tea, milk and fresh water bottles on arrival. If you want to shop, Super market and Eastridge shopping Centre is only a few minutes walk from here. If you prefers to dine out then everything you need is a short walk away in Mission Bay. There are great Cafes along side a huge variety of different restaurants offering global cuisines. Unlimited wireless internet is provided in this space.

Set in a quiet cul-de-sac with a short footpath onto the 3.5km of a protected safe sandy beach, maybe to try your hand at water sports, fishing, or kayaking, sailing, windsurfing or swimming there is also an all-weather concrete boat ramp at the reserve in the street.

Beautiful artisan bush walks nearby. Walk from the beach up to the local donkey park or visit the numerous wineries for wine tasting or a meal in their peaceful courtyard setting. You can take the walkway along the beach and enjoy the many nearby reserves with their facilities.
Snells Beach has great cafes and village shops to enjoy along with our local friendly pub The Salty Dog Inn.

We are in a very convenient and special location close to Snells Beach Town Centre, Warkworth Town, and charming Matakana Village with specialty shops, weekend farmers market, cafes, and the numerous wineries throughout the area.
The Kawau Island ferry is 10 mins away in Sandspit.

We use a eco composting toilet system which is new, clean and fresh for each stay. The toilet is 4 metres from the main cabin, out from the back door.

The cabin is about an 80 metre walk up from the bottom of the section where you can park. So you will need to be able to walk up the hill, it's not very steep, and affords you the great views while being only a minute or two from the waters edge.

McKenzie Reserve is our local, regenerating bush walking track. Many other coastal and forest day walks are nearby. We are also on the Te Ara Hura national walking track.

Enclosure bay is a well kept secret, one of the quieter Northern coast beaches, just a minute or two from the cabin. Enjoy a swim, snorkel or kayak, you might get to meet our resident octopus if you're lucky. Waiheke is home to numerous vineyards, a local brewery, Saturday arts and crafts market, with many culinary delights to discover. Sandy bay is a few more minutes walk away, just along the road. Palm Beach is a larger, more populated beach, about a ten minute drive away, or 30 minute walk. Palm beach shop can provide you with icecream and restaurant Arcadia available for some lunch and evening meals.

It's only a 10-15 minute drive to gorgeous wineries with restaurants such as award wining Casita Miro. Mudbrick, Cable Bay. The Heke is Waiheke's own boutique brewery. Another highly rated restaurant, 372, you'll find at Onetangi Beach, 12 minutes drive away.

The stars look better from Waiheke. We are in a mostly unlit neighbourhood so the stargazing is fantastic on a clear night.

Kaitiaki Lodge is our brand new luxury lodge located in Onetangi on Waiheke Island. Situated overlooking acres of unspoilt native bush with the Hauraki Gulf beyond the setting is simply spectacular. A large custom-made dining table seats 10 comfortably and the bespoke wrap around sofa takes advantage of the magnificent views over the native bush and the ocean beyond.

Heading downstairs you reach the guest suites. At the bottom of the stairs is another large lounge area with an amazingly comfortable bespoke sofa and a large smart TV. In this area you will find a wet bar with its own fridge freezer perfect for preparing your poolside cocktails. Here you will also find the laundry area with washer and dryer.

At either end of the lower level you will find 2 large bedrooms, giving a total of 4 bedrooms downstairs as well as the mater suite upstairs. The downstairs bedrooms have split king-beds meaning they can be configured as a king-double or two king-singles and each pair of bedrooms has a luxurious bathroom with walk-in shower and underfloor heating.

The lounge area leads outside to the heated pool and hot tub, with enough space for everyone to enjoy the summer sun or lounge in the shade of one of the large cantilevered umbrellas. If you are feeling more adventurous you can take a stroll through 10 acres of private nature reserve. We have carefully constructed a track that winds its way through the forest and have worked hard to create an environment that protects the native species of plant and birds that are abundant in the area. In our forest you will see (or hear) Tūī (Parson Bird), Kererū (Wood Pigeon), Kākā (Bush Parrot), Ruru (Moreporc our native owl), Pīwakawaka (Fan Tails) and much more.

Right on your doorstep are a number of great activities to enjoy with Batch winery and restaurant, EcoZip Adventures and scenic flights all available within walking distance. A little further afield you will reach the wonderful Onetangi Beach with a selection of bars and restaurants and the Onetangi road with some of the islands best wineries and breweries.
