- "Really nice spot and activities on site. Cottage was a little underwhelming but comfortable enough. No tv in cabin but wifi worked well. Really nice view and dock is just a few meters from cabin." - "It was absolutely gorgeous and so fun the owner was very friendly cottages whete so beautiful scenery was breathtaking not many mosquitos i woild definitely go again" - "These cottages are wonderful, beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for a weekend get away from the city. I read the reviews and I don’t know how people can complain about no TV when your surrounded by such beauty, also only having 2 toilet rolls, this is a family run business not a chain hotel with unlimited supplies. Our only complaints are the stranded boat on the beach - it’s not safe for small children or dogs and just doesn’t look nice, there was also a stray nail on the deck I have to move. Also the main road is very close to the cottages so quite noisy and not great if you want to let your dog or children run free. Lastly, there was no warning about wild animals at night, they ate our food outside and if people leave their dog outside to sleep that wouldn’t be good at all ! "

If you are seeking restitution away from the pressures of everyday living, enjoy "glamping" without the fuss. Our lakefront yurt & cabin is sure to re-connect you back to nature and explore the ultimate Algonquin experience.
This “wonderfully, amazing, peaceful & secluded natural oasis” is in the heart of one of Ontario's top tourist areas, just minutes away from internationally renowned Algonquin Provincial Park & Arrowhead Provincial Park & precisely 12 minutes from Muskoka's cultured town of Huntsville. We provide a complimentary day pass to both local provincial parks :)
Pets with up-to-date vet shots are welcome at no extra charge :)
The thought of sitting around a campfire under a clear sky, gazing up at the stars and listening to the sounds of the night can pacify your minds and rejuvenate your soul!
During late Spring, Summer and Fall the adjacent cabin compliments the yurt in giving you an additional screened-in porch overlooking the dock. They are both located within meters of each other and you will be assured full privacy on the 11 acres of private property.
Each booking comes complete with a full supply of wood for both the firepit and the woodstove.
Check out this website pictures of our unique outdoor washroom which our guests fondly call " Muskoka's finest privy" It even features art work! OUR LATEST UPGRADE: Seasonally, Spring into Fall, we provide a propane heated outdoor shower!
Our guests are impressed with the vast 85 acre spring fed lake and waterfall just a few meters from the yurt. The lake is virtually undeveloped surrounded with crown land and private ownership with only one other small cottage on the entire lake.
When you arrive to this 100% Canadian made yurt /cabin will be clean & setup with basic pots and pans to cook on either the propane bbq c/w side burner or wood stove.
For a perfect night's sleep, we provide a cozy deluxe queen size bed. Guests would only need to bring their own personal queen size sheet set (or sleeping bag), pillows, blankets, and towels.
This off grid package also includes: unique outdoor privy, open fire pit, private dock, waterfall, stream, Muskoka chairs, ample selection of games & reading material (for quieter moments), and a solar power pack to operate small appliances such as your cells..
Seasonally, we supply a complimentary canoe from Spring into early Fall and 2 pairs of high-tech snowshoes during the snow months. NEW: We've now added two kayaks to explore Benson Lake - guests would need to bring their own lifejackets.
You can safely dive off the T shaped dock (c/w canoe). Its 40 ft in length with a recently added 8 ft x16 ft. pontoon deck section. The dock is conveniently located only 300 ft away from the Yurt and only 40 ft. from the cabin.
During the cooler seasons, you will be kept snuggly warm even during the coldest of wintery nights inside Yurt's wool lined interior and our new high-functioning wood stove. Its large 17' diameter and 4' skylight makes it the perfect size for a couples getaway!
Yurts have developed into great popularity over the past decade, where campers/cottagers can experience a high end upgrade to traditional camping without the work, lately referenced as “glamping”. The sounds of nature is purely therapeutic : )
Muskoka is just a 2 1/4 hour drive north of Toronto. We are located just minutes from historical Huntsville and 30 minutes from the gateway to Algonquin Park, right in the heart of Muskoka District with its vast 2500 square miles of stunning pine and maple forests, 1600 lakes, waterfalls, cliffs and breathtaking scenery!
Here are just a few of our many 5 star REVIEWS!

GREAT time of the grid! We came here for peace, relaxation, and the great outdoors. This property met those requirements and more. The yurt was well-equipped, cozy (thanks to the woodstove) and secluded enough that you felt away from everything, yet because it was only a short hike and 10 minute drive into town it was still convenient for us to get around and explore Huntsville. Thank you to our wonderful hosts Doug and Orla, we will definitely be back and recommend it to others! All the best, Lauren

We had a wonderful time. The winter experience was truly a memorable one. It's definitely something that we can cross off our list now. We took advantage of the Arrowhead pass and explored the park. We particularly enjoyed skating through the forest. Meeting Doug and Orla was a complete pleasure as well. They were so sweet and welcoming, it made the experience more special.
We were pleased with the two nights and the urge of accomplishing something new was satisfied. Doug was generous enough to extend the third night to the next time we visit at which we were pleasantly surprised by. On our way home Emily and I discussed coming back. Hopefully in October to take advantage of the leaves changing.Thank you for everything and look forward to booking more adventures with you, Carla

Hi Doug and Orla: Stephanie and I had an absolutely amazing time at the yurt. We could not have imagined a better location and trip over all. As far as feedback I can honestly say I would not change a single thing. From the very first contact to the moment we drove away was perfect. Meeting Doug to show us the place was very nice and of course the property speaks for itself. We have many pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. Over the next few weeks we are going to plan a time to visit again, this time in the warmer days of summer and hope to make this a yearly trip. Thanks again for everything. All the best, Randy and Stephanie

Thanks so much Susan for arranging our visit - we had a great time!! We had a great visit - despite a day of rain - and want to return for sure. Thanks, Krista
- "Clean, quiet and relaxing" - "Very large and private wooded area to get away and relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay." - "What a beautiful spot to stay at. The sound of the waterfall, the trees, the sunsets, the quietness, the sounds of frogs and birds, the loons, all is unmatched. We can’t say enough good things about this spot. You will not be disappointed. If you stay here, you must try the outdoor shower. That was the best feeling, especially after a swim in the lake. Thank you Doug and Orla, for sharing this beauty with others. Sincerely Courtney and Ian"

He lives near the property so he is able to help with whatever you may need, however he is also very mindful of privacy. He even shovelled around the cabin for us as we were hit with quite a bit of snow. Amazing stay, highly recommend for some great down time." - "Beautiful cabin with a great view and a great sense of privacy. "

- "Beautiful and quiet property. Host had impeccable attention to detail and space was clean and welcoming. They answered any questions we had and we look forward to returning in the summer time. " - "We very much enjoyed an impromptu weekend escape to this adorable little cabin. If we had wanted to cook more there was everything we needed. But we ate out and Bracebridge is nice and close. There was nothing we felt was missing. The weather wasn’t great so we ended up exploring up to Huntsville too. The cabin was immaculately clean. We would definitely stay again. Maybe next time the weather will cooperate and we can have a fire. The only recommendation I have is that more detail be included in the listing. If I had been planning a longer stay or was concerned about some amenities being available I might have passed the listing over. It was all available, but not all listed on the listing that I could see."

- "Really had a wonderful time staying 2 nites, and visited the lake many times, spent the majority of our time down there. Took the canoe out each day, wonderful quiet and private lake, and never saw anyone else on it. ATV trails close by, but did not disrupt or trip. The cabin had a lot of really sweet touches, making it a step up (and more comfortable) that basic camping. Would love to visit again in another season!!" - "Overall we had a great stay! The area is beautiful and the cabin in surrounded by trees. The site is fairly big and it was very clean. The lake access is shared with the other cabin, but there are two docks set up so it would be easy to share the space. It was so quiet and peaceful, I definitely recommend staying here! Some important things to note: you have to carry your stuff from the car through a trail in the woods to get to the cabin. We didn't realize this and we arrived after dark which made it difficult, but we managed. Also due to being in a forest, the mosquitoes were the worst I've ever experienced. Bug spray alone did not help us. So I definitely recommend bringing additional bug repellent products if you stay here."

The restaurant is amazing both food and pricing, we even ordered some snacks to go and the owner delivered it to our cottage. Inside the cottage was spotless and beautifully renovated and was well equipped with everything you’d need. I would highly recommend staying here when in the area. Will definitely come back. Great work owners. "

- "Super cute cabin with lots of thoughtful little touches done by the host. Would definitely recommend!" - "This was perfect." - "My wife, two dogs and I stayed in this tranquil cabin in Katrine for a week in July. It was our first time staying in an energy efficient eco cabin and it was a really good experience. The cabin is really well kept, you can tell that the owners have pride in this cabin. It was clean, it had everything you needed, it was beautifully decorated, quaint, cute, and warm and inviting. The surrounding area is peaceful, we walked down to the lake almost every day which was a nice walk, particularly early in the morning. We also explored the area from Burks Falls down to Huntsville which was easy to do in Katrine. The weather was very hot during our stay, with the fans, some windows, and some cold drinks we managed well. Even the dogs, we had our two Shelties with us, and they had a fantastic vacation as well. I would stay here again."

Beautiful newly built cabin on the west side of Algonquin Park, a short drive from Kearney, Ontario, Canada.
Relax on the deck & enjoy the serenity as you listen to the stream flowing into the Magnetewan River. From hiking on one of the many trails nearby, canoeing on Sand Lake or just relaxing in the hammock as you stargaze the night away - only pleasant times here on out!
- "A cozy cottage with a well-stocked kitchen, spotless bedsheets and towels, and an inviting outdoor area. We couldn't make use of the patio furniture due to the weather, but did enjoy the view and the sounds of the rushing water. The large covered porch came in very handy as we could still sit outside and use the barbeque while it rained. We appreciated having chopped wood on hand for the stove, and also the Ontario Parks permit. We did manage to go hiking in Arrowhead one of the days. Thank you for a wonderful Canada Day weekend!"

- "We had a great time, everyone else that stayed in the other cabins were all super respectful and lots of fun. I loved the kayaks and utilized them everyday. This particular cabin was small but perfect for the 2 of us it doesn't have a full kitchen but we brought a slow cooker along just incase and it was perfect! The good thing about this cabin is your right at the end so your firepit is in the back and it alittle more private! We will definitely go back."
