There is a volleyball net, but you would need to bring your own Volleyball. Sand on the beach is super nice right for kids building Sandcastles" - "The office manager was great" - "We had a good stay in the water view cottage. Beautiful lake, free kayaking. Public area and the beach are small and can be crowded. In need of a better beddings. Staff are very helpful and would help where they can. You have to drive to everything. "

Waterfront rustic cottage with a screened in porch! Great fishing, swimming, canoeing and relaxing! A short drive to screaming heads art attraction. Dunchurch has a public beach, a library and the best ice cream shop at the duckrock store
- "Liz is a wonderful host, very consistent in communication. The vrbo property is a bit out of cellular range, and the cottage doesn’t have wifi so very good to truly disconnect from the electronic world. We caught fish everyday, enjoyed some bbq and were able to enjoy our long weekend away thoroughly. The neighbours both have dogs, and the one dog was friendly enough to come over and say hello to our pup! Just a heads up if you have a dog who isn’t good with other dogs to be aware that you may have a visitor! The overall property is beautiful and very secluded, the only dock on the lake for a mile either way, and star night skies that take your breath away! Thank you for lending us your lovely property Liz, and wouldn’t hesitate to return."

- "We were on our way to pick our daughters up from camp and needed somewhere to stay for the evening. The price was great and the space was clean. Detail of what we needed to bring were vague (coffee maker, but bring your own as an example). If a value no frills stay is what you're looking for - this is the place!" - "This property has great potential once it is complete. For our stay only 2 of the 4 executive bunkie/cabins were built. The owners did their very best to accommodate our group offering 2 alternative cabins during our stay. This required a bit of juggling and an increased cost but overall the location was spectacular for our group."

Welcome to Hygge on Rosseau - a Scandinavian-inspired retreat in the woods. Located on the tranquil shores of Shadow River at the mouth of beautiful Lake Rosseau and surrounded by 7.5 acres of forest, our modern retreat is the place to kick back and relax, while enjoying everything Muskoka has to offer in any season. More pictures, videos and details can be found on our Instagram page at @hygge_on_rosseau.
Tastefully designed and filled with natural light, our newly-built Scandi-inspired cottage offers all of the conveniences of modern living, while being surrounded by wilderness and nature. There is no better place to enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation and reconnect with family and friends. We’re located in the heart of Muskoka near the quaint Town of Rosseau, within a 2-hour drive from Toronto.
The cottage will comfortably accommodate eight people. On the lower level, you’ll find an open space floor plan with a modern kitchen boasting stainless steel appliances, including a wine fridge and induction oven, a dining area for eight and a cozy living area to enjoy our unique Stuv fireplace. This is also where the three bedrooms are located (two Queen and one bunk bed), as well as a full bathroom, featuring a modern shower, washer and dryer. The second floor has a big sectional and a 75” Smart TV - this is where you can watch movies, play board games, have a karaoke night, enjoying the beautiful views. The sectional has a built-in queen sofa bed and there is another full bathroom on this level.
While the inside of the property is beautiful, there is so much to enjoy outdoors, starting with our panoramic-view barrel sauna and both a hot tub and a cold plunge for a complete Nordic wellness spa experience. Hygge on Rosseau is just a 2-mins drive from the Town of Rosseau where you will find a kids-friendly public beach with a boat launch, playground, change rooms/washrooms and a brand new marina. During summer Fridays, it’s home to the Rosseau Farmer’s Market. The town is also famous for its iconic Rosseau General Store operating since 1874 where you can buy groceries, local produce, delicious Kawartha Dairy ice cream and souvenirs. An LCBO and the popular Crossroads restaurant are also there for you to enjoy. Muskoka and our property is paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Hikers and snowshoe aficionados will find trails right on the property and downhill skiing in the nearby Hidden Valley Resort. Muskoka is also one of the top cross country skiing destinations, with hundreds of kms of expertly groomed trails across the region.
- "We loved our two night stay at the Hygge on Rosseau. The place was immaculate - clean, fresh, relaxing, high end appliances and kitchen equipment… everything we needed ++. We brought three children and they had a blast. The kids basically lived in the hot tub but we also enjoyed a paddle on the peaceful shadow river. Great spot for this time of year (Oct) especially on this particularly cold, rainy weekend. We loved the sauna and both nights enjoyed movies on the huge TV in the lounge area complete with a massive couch we could all fit on. The general store is 3 mins down the road and had everything we needed (ice, firewood, fresh bread, a few canned goods, huge selection of frozen meat, veggies, milk etc) which was really great. The hosts left us with high-end toiletries (which was a nice touch) as well as a basket of treats. Our only regret was that we wished we had packed our hatchet as the stove in the sauna is small and fitting the larger chunks of firewood was tricky. The cabin did not have a hatchet for guest use which is understandable. If you are looking for a tranquil get away - complete with sauna and hot tub - but also want extremely comfortable beds, a large screen TV, plus all the creature comforts, stay at Hygge on Rosseau. We had a great time and hope to be back next year!"

Outdoor enthusiasts dream get away- ***paddle to the cabin with a small portage on the way. You “MUST” have at minimum, basic experience in handling a canoe to get to the cabin!!!
The cabin is on a quiet lake adjoining Massassauga Provincial Park. Enjoy our all day sun, South facing, off the grid cabin. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Only 7 cottages on the lake. Stunning views of the water from the loft or deck.
The space
Half of our lake is located in Massassauga Provincial Park - our cabin is a great starting point for canoe trips into the park,. To get to the cabin by canoe, it is about a 1 to 1-1/2 hour paddle, (depending on your paddling speed) with a 100 m (or less) portage on the way. Our cabin is completely private, and the deck is overlooking the lake. There is a short 30 m steep walk up to the cabin from the lake.
A king sized, bed and a floor mattress are in the loft, and the view is beautiful. A small bedroom adjacent to the kitchen has a double bed. There are a few flashlights there but best to bring some lights with you. There is a small kitchen equipped with hot and cold running water and a small side tap for filtered water. It has a propane cook top, dishes and cutlery, pots and pans and all the necessities to let you enjoy "upscale glamping”.
We have recently added an outdoor shower, also with hot and cold running water.
There is a small propane fridge for your fresh food and drinks
Outside on the deck you have a table and chairs (in the cabin as well) and a small propane BBQ. Propane is provided for all of our amenities. Camping chairs are available to take to the dock or sit on shore by the lake and watch the beavers. We have a nice, clean little outhouse for your business needs, equipped with toilet paper, wet wipes and hand sanitizer.
Enjoy the great peace and outdoors of our cabin!

Welcome to The Narrows Resort in Dunchurch! My husband Nigel and I purchased this resort which is home 4 quaint 100 year old cabins on the narrows of Whitestone Lake. If you're looking for a quaint, cozy, and truly unplugged getaway, one of these cute little rustic cabins is for you!
This cabin (Cabin 4), is the oldest of the four cabins situated up on the rock at the end of the property. This small but cozy cabin houses two bedrooms with a queen bed and double bed and a dresser to store your belongings. The 3 piece bathroom is fresh and clean. A combined kitchen/dining/living room with wall to wall windows that overlook the water is the perfect place to eat your meals and watch water flow by.
The kitchen is well stocked with many necessities for your cooking and dining needs, but come prepared with all your food and desired condiments. Head out on the attached deck to BBQ or to sit and enjoy the sunshine on the water. Ready for a swim? The cabin is just steps to the waters edge and your private dock. Take a short walk to the Resort's sandy beach and take a dip in the beautiful water. Be sure take a picture with our resident alligator buoy.
On rainy days, head into the resort's Game Room to play a round of ping pong, darts, or other games provided. It's a great communal space to hang out, especially if you're renting multiple cabins! The TV in the games rooms connects to the Satellite TV so you won't miss the big game even when on vacation.
Across the driveway from the cabins there is a large private grassy park area complete with kid's play structure. Next to that is a fire pit you are welcome to use for nightly campfires to enjoy some s'mores. Firewood is available at the general store in Dunchurch just a 5 min walk across the road.
While there is no Wifi available in any of the cabins, there is great cell service. And if you desperately need wifi, there is a public library a 2 min walk away and you are able to connect to it's wifi from the bench in the park.
This cozy cabin is available from May-October to enjoy the best that the year has to offer on the water. There is a kayak, canoe, and paddle board on the property available for rent. Or the Dunchurch Marina next door is the perfect place to rent a boat (or bring your own!) to explore Whiestone Lake. Feel free to park the boat on the communal dock, just be sure to let me know!

One of Bardo Cabins' two, four-season sister-cabins; Pine Cabin is quietly nestled below a granite outcrop among towering old pines on the beautiful, quiet, fifteen acre Dube Lake. Hike, bike, snowshoe or ski the private two kilometers of trails, dive and sunbathe from your own floating dock or wade at a nearby sandy shore, relax bug-free on the screened-in porch listening to the sounds of Bardo's surrounding ten acres of mixed old growth forest, or venture beyond to nearby amenities.

*towels are not provided
*if available, both of Bardo's cabins can be reserved for a concurrent period for the ultimate two family getaway. Send us a note to inquire
Pine Cabin is a rustic and cozy 500 square feet, with two bedrooms, a full bathroom with tub, and a living room/kitchen common area. The living room has two full couches, an HDMI-ready smart tv with streaming apps, Starlink high-speed internet, wifi, and a wood stove. The kitchen is well-appointed with a full-sized electric stove/oven and has a four-seat dining table. The attached screened in porch has a bistro table and a gas grill.
There is a flight of stairs down from the parking area, and more stairs back up to the cabin. A hundred foot trail leads to our other cabin, but in summer there is some privacy provided between them by the forest foliage. The cabin has its own dock with excellent weed-free, deep water swimming. The 100-foot boardwalk out to the swimming dock crosses a distinct floating bog ecosystem filled with rare plants and dwarf trees, frogs, turtles and a resident beaver family. Watch out for our local old snapping turtle Sheldon. He loves hotdogs, but prefers not to be touched. There is only four dwellings on Lake Dube; two of them make up Bardo Cabins. There is no motors on the lake. Right across the street there is a public swimming area with a shallow, sandy shoreline perfect for youngsters not quite ready for plunging off our dock.
There are more than two kilometers of marked trails throughout the property, ideal for hiking and mountain biking spring to fall, and nordic skiing and snowshoeing in the winter (snowshoes provided). We don't permit motorized vehicles on the property beyond the parking area, but there’s a long network of top shelf atv/snowmobile/biking trails very close by (Seguin Recreation Trail). For the paddlers we have a canoe, a tandem kayak, two youth kayaks, and two inflatable SUPs to share between the two cabins. Access to a network of paddling and portaging is right across the street on Lake Manitouwaba. The fishing in our lake isn't great, but there's bass in the lake across the street.
The cabin’s water is from the lake and is naturally tea-stained by organic matter and minerals. A reverse-osmosis-filtered drinking water tap can be found on the kitchen sink. We drink the water and test it regularly, but we can't guarantee it for you. If you'd prefer, bring along your own drinking water.
Each cabin has a firepit, and a fireplace. We provide the firewood, which we process ourselves for your use, at our pleasure.
