When you flushed the toilet a gurgling sound came out of the kitchen sink and it smelled like sewer. Kitchen sink took forever to drain, many windows without screens and the sliding door did not lock nor did it have a screen. Location is good overall comfort was good but the place certainly needs upgrades."

Very small you can step off the side or front on either side of steps, if you are not careful. You cannot see the lake from #9. You can walk out down a small sidewalk, onto the sand, then down to the lake. Very peaceful by the water. #9 is close to the main road US23. With the door open and screen closed. The traffic was loud. If I stay again I will ask for front place facing the lake."

- "We booked this 4 day staycation for my youngest's birthday, so it was my Husband, two kids (9yr & 7yr), and myself. I'm so grateful to the owners tips with the driving directions, as we did in fact pass the cabins and turned back around. The lot isn't huge, but we still found a spot easily, and the walk to our cabin (we stayed in cabin #10 with the deck, definitely recommend the deck!) was short and quick. The cabin itself does have some wear and tear, a bit of siding damage, outdated electrical, small plumbing and floor issues...but IT'S A WATERFRONT BEACH HOUSE! Of course there's wear and tear. I found the staff did a great job at keeping things clean. The cabin is very cozy, I think 4 people may have been it's limit, and I got a good laugh squeezing into the small standing shower (for reference I'm only 5'5" tall, and I bumped my elbows, also my yoga came in very handy when attempting to shave lol). But it has great hot water. My kids came in for a quick shower after every swim session, and we never once ran out. The view here is absolutely incredible, honestly breath taking. So who cares if the cabin is on the smaller side, you should honestly be outside enjoying the beauty of this private beach. Visitors were in other nearby cabins, but everyone was respectful and kind. There was a small, open, central storage area with beach toys and chairs to share. I could go on and on about this cabin, but recommend you check it out yourself instead, I promise you won't regret it."

Being by the water is a beautiful experience, but it may come with outdoor bugs. Pack your bug spray in the warmer months!

The Great Lakes have a midge surge each year for about a week in late spring. While annoying, they are a sign of a healthy lake and are harmless non-biters!
Guest access
You will have access to the two bedrooms, kitchen, full bathroom, and half bath with washer/dryer. There is one locked room that is not available for guests. Outside of the living space you can enjoy yourself in the studio/game room and spend some time outside in the spacious back yard with fire pit and a patio.

Other things to note:

Our home away from home is child friendly. we have a baby monitor and pack and play for your use. We also have a variety of board games and cards.

There are three heating sources available. In the living room, there is a wall furnace, the master bedroom has an electric fireplace, and the bathroom and kitchen have controls on the wall for single room heat registers. The listed bedroom upstairs is heated perfectly by the living room furnace.

We will provide 3 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, two paper towel rolls for the kitchen, and a couple of boxes of tissue.

The private beach across the street is only for those renting the 6-8 cabins on the property so it was nice & we were the only ones using it the first couple days we were there (Mon-Tue). Even with other folks there from the cabins, there was never more than 5 people down there. The cabin was clean when we arrived. It’s very cute and functional space. The half-baths attached to each bedroom was AWESOME and having a separate shower room made it so no one was ever waiting for the bathroom. My teen daughter and her friend LOVED having pool & hot tub time. The extra amenities of the beach & pool house really made this place awesome for all of us. The only thing that I would change is having bedding and towels. I’ll admit I liked knowing my sheets are clean and it made it easier to check for things like bedbugs (there was none of course), but bringing an entire tote full of sheets, blankets, and towels made packing the car and before/after vacation harder. But considering this seems like the cleanest affordable place on the lake, it was worth it! Overall great trip. We also went kayaking on the Au Sable - best river in Michigan for kayaking imo. The kayak rental place is like 10 minutes away, so the location is perfect for any beach bum or outdoorsy person!"

The linens and mattresses could use a little updating. Towels were paper thin. That didn’t hamper the weekend though. I’m just nitpicking at this point. We would stay here again."

SHARED SPACES: This cottage is part of a shared property. Consequently, the outdoor space and beach are shared with other guests. We anticipate everyone to respect others' enjoyment. Rest assured, the interior of your cottage remains completely private and personal throughout your stay.

BEDDING/TOWELS: Bedding and towels are not included in this rental. Each mattress and the provided pillows are protected with waterproof, zippered covers. Don't forget to pack bed sheets, pillowcases and blankets in addition to bath, beach and hand towels.

BEACH ACCESSIBILITY: You must cross the road to access our private beach. Clear sight-lines allow safe crossing. Guests with small children and the elderly should consider this when booking our place.

CLEANLINESS: We prioritize offering a clean environment for your vacation. Every appliance, surface, and fixture is thoroughly cleaned between stays. However, there are some points to note.

• With the beach comes sand, which we endeavor to remove completely. However, if we miss a few grains, rest assured they've been mopped, sprayed, or wiped clean.

• We make every effort to keep our upholstered furniture and carpets clean. However, due to the nature of rental properties and limited time during our rental season, some stains may not be completely removable. We appreciate your understanding.

• Please note, these points are not meant to excuse substandard cleaning. If you ever feel our cleaning is insufficient, let us know immediately, and we'll rectify the situation.

HOT WATER: This cottage has a smaller water heater than you may be accustomed to at home. Prolonged or extremely hot showers might be challenging, especially in cold weather. Spacing out showers, dishwashing, and other hot water use usually solves the issue. If this poses a concern, consider booking one of our larger cottages with more substantial water heaters.

COASTAL LIVING CHALLENGES: Our vacation rental homes are located on Lake Huron's shore, close to the Huron National Forest. Given our location and the age of our properties, please be aware of the following.

• Ants and other insects may find their way into the cottage, despite regular pest control efforts. You can help by maintaining food cleanliness and immediately cleaning spills/crumbs.

• Rarely, mice may get past our precautions, especially during cooler weather. It's unlikely but worth considering when deciding to book.

• The location's humidity and higher water table might introduce unfamiliar smells. We assure you, however, that these scents don't indicate mold, and your health is our priority. Every rental is regularly inspected. During especially humid periods, you may find a dehumidifier in your rental.

ACCESSIBILITY: Our cottages are not handicap-accessible. Most doorways are narrow, and some spaces may present obstacles for those with mobility issues. Please review all photos to assess suitability before booking.

PROVIDED ITEMS: To simplify your packing, we supply essentials for your trip, but with certain limitations to stay competitive.

• Sanitary Items: Expect roughly 1 roll of paper towel, 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, hand soap, dish soap and 2 trash bags.

• Kitchenware: We provide dinnerware to accommodate the maximum number of guests, plus basic cookware. e.g. at least 1 saucepan, 1 frypan and simple cooking utensils.

Two large bedrooms offer king-size and queen-size beds respectively and a huge loft overlooking the living area offers two sets of twin-over-full bunkbeds plus a large couch containing a full-size pull-out bed. Bedrooms and loft each include linens, alarm clock, box fan and TV. Main floor bath features full-size shower/tub, front loading washer and dryer and is stocked with bath and beach towels for your use. The main floor living area includes bar seating, counter-height dining table, two large couches (one containing a full-size pull-out bed), electric fireplace and large TV with DVD player. All TVs are smart TVs and have access to Sling, Hulu, Netflix, etc. WIFI is available as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed for your stay including all dinner, drink and flatware, a full-size refrigerator/freezer, gas stove/oven, and dishwasher. A coffee maker, electric kettle, crock pot, instant pot, air fryer, toaster, breakfast sandwich maker, and electric griddle are also available for use.

Outdoors, you’ll find an asphalt driveway with concrete patio featuring string lights and a gas grill along with a 36-foot covered deck facing the water. Our wooded lot at the end of the channel creates lots of privacy for swimming, sunbathing and enjoying the outdoors. The water’s edge features a dock, sandy beach area and firepit. The DNR public boat launch is approximately 3.5 miles away if you wish to bring your own watercraft. *Please note, while our end of the lake reaches depths of 10+feet, the majority of the lake is much shallower. Most cruise the lake on pontoons, jet skis or shallow-water boats.* The winter offers lots of outdoor options as well. Bring your own gear to enjoy ice-skating, cross-country skiing, sledding, ice fishing and snowmobiling right out the back door!

Being by the water is a beautiful experience, but it may come with outdoor bugs. Pack your bug spray in the warmer months!

The Great Lakes have a midge surge each year for about a week in late spring. While annoying, they are a sign of a healthy lake and are harmless non-biters!

You will have access to the two bedrooms, kitchen, full bathroom, and half bath with washer/dryer. There is one locked room that is not available for guests. Outside of the living space you can enjoy yourself in the studio/game room and spend some time outside in the spacious back yard with fire pit and a patio.

Our home away from home is child friendly. we have a baby monitor and pack and play for your use. We also have a variety of board games and cards.

There are three heating sources available. In the living room, there is a wall furnace, the master bedroom has an electric fireplace, and the bathroom and kitchen have controls on the wall for single room heat registers. The listed bedroom upstairs is heated perfectly by the living room furnace.

We will provide 3 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, two paper towel rolls for the kitchen, and a couple of boxes of tissue.

It's a studio cabin with 2 beds, a full bathroom, and sleeps 4 adults. It is located in the woods with a trail in the backyard that leads to the river. The backyard comes with a picnic table, charcoal grill, and a fire pit. Dog-friendly as well! Perfect for hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, cross-country skiing and exploring nature!

4) PROPERTY NAME: The cabin has a colorful history that is reflected in the name of the property. The cabin was built in 1924 and in the 1930's some infamous bank robbers from Detroit actually used the cabin as a hideout from law enforcement.
5) HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING: The cabin has a propane furnace for heat and is available for rent year-round. The cabin does not have air conditioning.

Guest access
To complete your booking process and get your Guest Access information you will be connected with Enso Connect Guest Experience app. Once you have completed your verification process you will receive your Enso "Boarding Pass" with your Guest Access information.
The Enso Connect guest verification process will require:
* Signing of rental agreement
* ID and selfie uploads

Guests will enjoy exclusive access to all of our private cottages at Barefoot Beach. The property is self-check-in, so please carefully read the check-in instructions prior to arrival.

Other things to note
• You will receive your Enso "Boarding Pass" with guest access details after completing verification, which includes:
-Signing the rental agreement
-ID and selfie uploads
• A non-refundable damage waiver is included in your total cost, covering more than minor wear and tear. Stays over 30 nights require a refundable security deposit if no damages occur (except Airbnb bookings).
• Discounts applied automatically:
-15% off for stays 7+ nights
-30% off for stays 30+ nights
• Extensions: Contact us for special offers.
• Starter Kit: Includes coffee, dishwasher pods, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper. Guests are responsible for additional supplies.
• **Local Guests: Prior authorization is required before booking**.
• Cancellations: Check your booking platform’s policy. Even for full refunds, a 4% credit card fee applies (except Airbnb & VRBO).
• Pets:
-$20/night, $100/week, $250/month (potty-trained dogs only).
