Parking is on the street right in front of the cottage, no driveway. We have a beautiful little front yard with a patio table and chairs to eat outside. The white wicker rocker is on the covered front porch. We also have a side deck with a Weber grill. There are 2 beautiful parks right directly across the street from us at the library!

We know how hard it is to plan a family vacation with all the time and research involved. If you are lucky enough to have found any of our cottages in downtown Charlevoix you do not need to look any further. We are our hardest critics (and have a big family to test them out!). From having the cleanest cottages and THE BEST cleaning staff on VRBO to having the most comfortable beds with high end bedding, best stocked kitchens and all around experience, there simply is not a better place to stay in Northern Michigan. All of our cottages in Charlevoix are occupied 100% of the time from mid May to October so please do not hesitate to book (early). We had many instances where guests waited a few hours to book and their week was taken in that short amount of time.

Enjoy the beautiful bike paths along Lake MI to Petoskey, Harbor Springs. A 5 minute walk to the dunes and beach. Only a 2 min. walk to enjoy the sunset. This charming cottage has a warming atmosphere. There are 2 sets of snowshoes available during the winter months. The trails are just across the street and are lite to enjoy them during the evening. After a day of skiing, snowshoeing or just taking a walk, come inside and warm up with the wood fireplace.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, bring your essential oils and relax in the Jacuzzi tub , the couch can be converted to an extra single bed, washer and dryer available, wood burning fireplace (Sept-May) gas barbecue grill and wood fire pit (May-Oct) Roku is available in the living room and master bedroom with high speed internet, Blu-ray player and wifi. The cottage was originally a log home. Some of the logs have been preserved inside the cottage. The cottage is located in Northpoint on the northside of Charlevoix within 2 miles from downtown. The neighborhood is quiet. There is charter fishing available, Whitecap Charters, Ward brothers. - "We enjoyed our brief 3-night stay in November. The cottage was lovely, clean and well maintained. The kitchen was generously equipped with ample room for use. Many thoughtful items were available for use during other seasons including beach items, outdoor chairs, fire pit supplies and more. They had a bookshelf of books and a closet of games. The nature preserve across the street was on Lake Michigan and provided beautiful hiking. The cottage is in a quiet, neighborhood location, but a short drive from downtown for shopping and restaurants."

Located on a scenic bluff directly on Lake Michigan, come and enjoy the relaxing view from the large deck, enjoy walks along the beach and playing in the water. There is a biking/walking trail located at the end of the drive that leads to Petsokey and Charlevoix. If you like to shop, there are plenty of shops located in nearby Petoskey and Charleviox. After a day of exploring, enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants or sit on the beach and enjoy the sunset. There is so much to do you will have to come back year after year.

- "A-Frames have always appealed to me and this gem did not disappoint! Very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The cottage makes great use of space and was perfect for 4 adults and 2 teen boys. The view is gorgeous! We made many meals in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed the deck and beach. We were able to have several fires on the beach watching the glorious sunsets! We stayed over the 4th, another house in the association shot off fireworks on the beach and we could see Harbor Springs’ display across the lake. The location is just perfect! We rented a pontoon from Tommy’s on Walloon Lake, spent several days at Petoskey State Park beach, hit a Farmers Market in Harbor Springs, drove all around Lake Charlevoix! Enjoyed a great meal at the The Landing, ice cream at the Dairy Grill and at Murdick’s later in the week. We visited a few of the wineries. The Spare Key is very close and my favorite. Great fresh cherry stand down the road. The lavender farm nearby was a nice visit too. We also made plenty of time for playing board games, riding bikes, fishing, playing in the beautiful Bay just down the steps from the cottage and had so much fun Petoskey stone hunting! Cheryl made everything so easy and provided so many nice comforts for our arrival. Comfortable beds, nice hot showers. We had a wonderful week, would highly recommend this great place and we do hope to come back! Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!"

- "This is my first experience with this area. My girlfriend and I wanted to get away for a few days and someone had recently told us about this area and how beautiful it is. The property feels isolated even though it is only a three minute walk to the lake. The lake is beautiful. My girlfriend and I woke up and had coffee on the sun porch every morning. It is a couple of minutes into town so we really did not have to drive much to get to lake Michigan. We were introduced to the Petoskey Stone which can be found on local beaches. They are a particular kind of fossil and not a stone per se. It was fun hunting for them as well as frustrating at times. The cottage was clean and spacious. Everything worked. The bed was comfortable. The bedding was fresh and clean as was the cottage. I can recommend this cottage and area to anyone wanting to get away for a weekend. It looks like it would be good for a family too as there were 3 bedrooms."

150 feet of Lakefront beach on Lake Michigan + 3 Bedroom, 3.0 bath cottage makes for a great place to spend a week or much of the summer--or fall--or spring. Sunsets are amazing and after sunset the dark sky above the lake allows amazing views of the stars and milky way. Charlevoix mailing address but south of Fisherman's Island so you can enjoy all of Charlevoix's charm, ' but be far enough away that it is a true summer retreat. Guests are entranced with Lake Michigan from this contemporary and private lakeside home. Home is located in a birch and hemlock grove, the home looks out over Lake Michigan and south to Grand Traverse Bay. Guests can beachcomb and hunt for Petoskey or Charlevoix stones, swim or canoe on the lake. Others jog or walk the country lanes.

The property is architect designed. The master bedroom has a separate entrance, full sized bed, sliding doors to deck overlooking the lake and its own bath. A quiet and private spot, even if the kids and in laws are in the other rooms.

Another bedroom has its own bathroom and is located at the opposite end of the house from the master bedroom. It has sliding doors to the large lakefront deck. This room has bunk beds and can sleep 4 people. It is quiet and light. It has an additional art and drawing room attached which looks out over the nearby woods. The drawing room also has a washer and dryer.

There is a quiet library/TV viewing nook off the living room with a DVD player, 42 inch HDTV, and streaming high speed internet video interface. Also a wide selection of books with an emphasis on northern Michigan. In the library area is a new queen sized sofa bed which sleeps 2 comfortably. This sofa has a great view of the big lake by day, and waking up on the sofa bed to see the lake is a wonderful experience.

There is a large living room/dining room which is associated with a sitting area and which has cathedral ceilings and large glass windows and sliding doors which open to a large deck overlooking the lake with many chairs and tables for eating, sunbathing, reading, or watching the lake and sunsets. Outside, greenery including evergreens frame the lake view and provide shelter from excess breezes.
Off the living room is a full bath (shower) which has unique barnwood paneling, a real 'up north' experience.

The kitchen is extremely well-stocked with dishes, utensils, pans, pots, and has a work area which overlooks the lake. There is a dishwasher and a gas grille for BBQ (outside).

An ideal room for children is at the top of the spiral staircase which is the 3rd bedroom which has room for two in a full sized bed.

There is a full complement of kitchen applicances, dishes, etc to allow one to prepare gourment meals while looking out at the lake. Have your breakfast and meals overlooking the lake as well, either in the combined LR/DR or on the deck.

- "This place was great! Views and sunsets cannot be beat! Owner is very responsive and proactive. The water was super high at the property (owner pre-warned us) but we still had fun there finding Petosky and Charlevoix stones. There is also a secluded and sparsly-populated beach 1.5 miles North with easy access and a lot of sand. Property is roughly 20 minutes from downtown Charlevoix for dining and shopping options. Only downsides: 1) SPIDERS! But yo, you’re in a wooded area with a bunch of bugs, it’s like a spider dream buffet. 2) Address doesn’t show in NAV system or Google Maps. My college-age daughter came up a day after us and we got around this by telling her to search for 4## Lake Shore Dr (not Lakeshore Dr, because it makes a difference) and then just keep going. Once you hit the county line, the road changes to dirt and the numbers change to the 11### format. It’s a mile past that. TIPS: 1) Bring a snorkel and mask for any geology nerds looking for our state stone. 2) There IS a tv, but it’s in a closet by the blue sofa. Don’t tell your kids. We taught them Euchre and Rummy and have created monsters who now understand the importance of strategic thinking. 3) Stop at a fresh fruit stand on the way up. I have never had better strawberries or blueberries in my life. 4) Master bath shower: 3 o’clock is a good starting point for warm enough to not scald you."

This roomy lakefront cabin, part of an 8-acre family compound, is located on wooded land fronting a private stony beach with its own dock. Built in 1918, this cabin has been enjoyed by five generations of our family. It has been modernized, yet much of its original character and cabin vibe is preserved. There are lake and/or woods views from every room in the cabin. You may not want to leave the land, but if you do, three quaint Northern Michigan towns- Charlevoix, Boyne City, and Petoskey- offer dining, shopping, and sites just a short drive away. This unique property has been the heart of our family for generations and we would love to share it's magic with you.

This home offers ample space to retreat and relax. The 100-year-old stone fireplace anchors the lodge-like open concept living and dining room with 30 feet of windows overlooking the lake. It is perfect for family gatherings with space for multiple independent activities. A smaller family room with 50-inch smart TV offers a cozy spot to hang out as well. The kitchen with a large central island is perfect for cooking and entertaining.

This home has three large primary bedrooms, all with king beds, sitting and working space, ensuite full bathrooms, and stunning lake views. Two of the primary bedrooms, accessed through private stairways, have a tree-house feel. The first-floor primary bedroom has a walk-in shower with a bench. In addition, there is a twin bedroom as well as a bunkroom with five beds which offer spaces for kids and young adults to stay.

Relax, unwind, and commune with nature. A large deck, located off the main living space, offers plenty of seating, a dining area, and a gas grill, perfect for lazy days and outdoor dinners. Two of the primary suites have their own decks as well. Follow the stairs down to 200 feet of private beach front. Our dock has a platform over the water for sunning and swimming in pristine Lake Charlevoix. The dock connects to a sunny deck and the open air “Bellhouse” which offers a shady spot to relax and unwind.

This cabin has many modern conveniences. There is high speed internet and electric baseboard heat but no air conditioning. There are ceiling fans and/or electric fans in all rooms. There is a washer/dryer in the mudroom off of the kitchen.

This beloved house comes with the quirks of a cabin in the woods. Our woods and lake area remain a natural habitat for various forms of wildlife. If spiders upset you, this is not your place. If you love being in nature and a rustic up north vibe, you will feel right at home!

Please note the neighboring cabins belong to our extended family. The surrounding woods and road leading to the cabin are all on undeveloped family land which has been lovingly kept in its natural state. All guests are asked to respect our neighbors and observe quiet hours after 10 pm. You’ll have exclusive use of our beach during your stay, but the adjoining beaches and grounds are private and not for your use. We don't allow parties, large gatherings, or occupancy over our limit. This special spot is for family and friends who want to unplug and enjoy lake life to its fullest.

The coop cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, blackout curtains and an en-suite bathroom. There is a corner off of the sofa room with comfortable, but small bunk beds. The bunks are 6ft long. The space ideal for a couple or a family with small children. Adults have slept in the bunks comfortably, but please make sure you take note of the bunks being 6ft before booking.

Just 5 miles from downtown Charlevoix, Lake Michigan and N. of Torch Lake & S. of Petoskey & Mackinaw area. Our cottage is on a private Lake and we also have a dock on the private lake right across the road to enjoy an early sunrise and sunsets.

Our ranch style cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 bedroom with a queen bed and 1 with twins. We have 1 bathroom with shower only, and a 20gal. hot water tank (quick showers) A kitchen for cooking, and lake view family rooms for entertaining. Ours is a peaceful country setting with access to two lakes for fishing canoeing and swimming. You may see much wildlife; Deer, turkeys, chipmunks,
geese, herons and Eagles and of course
mosquitos. It’s perfect for those looking for
a quiet getaway.

Guest access
Guests have access to the cottage, lake front yard and access to the lake across the road. Guest can use canoe and paddle boat at their own risk, we have life jackets and floatation tubes available. We have a fire pit also to be used responsibly. We ask that guests not enter the garage.

Other things to note
This is a seasonal cottage Summer and Fall are the best times to visit here. The summer nights last forever and the sky is filled with stars. Fall colors reflecting off the lake and crisp walks down our tree lined street are just what Autumn should feel like. Wi-Fi available. TV , DVD player, cards, board games, puzzles available for rainy indoor times. There are two bedrooms in cottage (queen and twins) The bathroom has a shower only; no tub, our hot water tank is a 20 gallon tank so quick showers are a must or space showers out. Please use caution when walking down existing pathway to access dock on East Twin Lake. Be aware and alert while on docks. Please use a noodle and/or lifejackets when on paddleboat or canoe, and swim with a noodle for safety.

Across the street from Mt McSauba nature preserve trails for hiking, 5 minute walk to Lake MI dunes with a beautiful beach & a 2 minute walk to watch the sunset. 2 miles from downtown. The space
The cottage was originally a log home. Some of the logs have been preserved inside the cottage. There is a king size bed in master bedroom, a queen size bed in second bedroom and an airbed or a folding guest bed that can be set up in the livingroom.

The cottage is within walking distance to Lake Michigan Dunes and just a mile drive to Depot Beach on Lake Charlevoix.

A new weber grill is available for your use so you can enjoy a nice meal in.

Wedding venues are close, The Shanahan Barn is approx 1 1/2 miles and Caste Farms is 5 miles away.

We welcome families with small children. If you would need a crib, pack and play or highchair there is a rental company in town - Happy Little Vacation Rentals.

During the winter months Two sets of snowshoes are available to guests, located in front closet, and trails are available across the street from the cottage for snowshoeing, cross country skiing or walking. 1.5 miles of trails are lite at night to enjoy. On Friday’s there is a candle light walk and bon fire. The Mt McSauba ski hill (tow rope) is within walking distance. You can rent skis, snowboards and skates to enjoy the beauty of this beautiful area. The cottage is between the larger ski resorts just a 25 mile drive.

Charlevoix is a great place to get away from it all - this small resort town in Northern Michigan has an old-time downtown shopping district, the area's only working drawbridge, and breathtaking sunsets over Lake Michigan. Coffee shops, gourmet restaurants, outdoor concerts in the park, sailing and fishing charters, ice cream and fudge shops, are all within a short distance of the cottage. There’s a lakeside bike trail that runs 20 miles along Lake Michigan to Petoskey and beyond, and numerous options for golfers. Traverse City and Mackinac Island are easy day trips. In the winter months, you can get away from it all or take a day trip to Boyne for some skiing.

The space
The coop cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, blackout curtains and an en-suite bathroom. There is a corner off of the sofa room with comfortable, but small bunk beds. The bunks are 6ft long. The Space is ideal for a couple or a family with small children . Adults have slept in the bunks comfortably, but please make sure you take note of the bunks being small before booking.

The East Wing is the east half of a duplex that is very clean, with high quality queen mattresses, comfortable furniture and a cottage feel. It has its own laundry room, kitchen with dishwasher, living room, full bath and two separate bedrooms. Guests love the location, cleanliness and " home away from home" feel of the East Wing.

Welcome to the Dollhouse! This artsy, unique 1 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, is a mini art gallery! It is filled with "Charlevoix Artwork" by the owner who is a professional artist. Small, but mighty, it has everything you need including the perfect location! Only 1 block from: Lake Michigan, hiking trails, a public sand dune beach, the Wheel-Way paved bike trail AND, less than 2 miles from downtown Charlevoix! The Dollhouse is surrounded by nature, yet close to downtown shopping and festivals.

The space
The Dollhouse is 360 sq ft of comfortable delight! It is like a little beach house, designed to make maximum use out of the small space. Furniture cleverly defines the rooms. In the bathroom there is a stall shower instead of a tub. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed. The living room area has an Italian leather love seat facing a 50" big screen TV that hangs on the wall, with movie channels. It swivels towards the bed if desired. The kitchen has a retro table with two chairs but the leaves fold out to accommodate four if you have day guests. If you are a foodie and love to cook, the full kitchen has a gas stove and all the cookware to put on a gourmet meal!

There are two wonderful outdoor sitting areas for you to enjoy. The stone patio is perfect for having coffee in the morning, enjoying the cool breeze tinkling through the chimes, waking up to the birds and enjoying the flowers. When the sun is high and the patio is sunny and hot, there are two hand painted retro metal chairs located under the tree out front, with a table, to enjoy a cool drink and maybe read a book.

This darling loft sleeps up to three people offering a sleeping loft with a full size bed and a daybed in the living space. As the photos suggests, it is just that --- a cozy sleeping area. The ladder is steep, be prepared to climb! The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a bathroom with a walk in shower. The deck is spacious and private.

The Loft is fully outfitted with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It's quaint and modern to help you feel further away from your daily grind.

The space
Fun and inspiring best describes the loft. Windows and skylights give the loft a bright and airy feel. The loft is minimalist without being cold. Year round cable television, wifi and a Sonos will keep you connected. The newly remodeled kitchen continues the light and airy cottage theme with its honed quartz marble counters, modern subway tile, under mount sink and includes everything you would need to cook a wonderful meal. The local farmers market is literally steps away! :) The bathroom has a marble and subway tiled step in shower. We supply everything you will need for a comfortable stay, Weber Grill, toiletries, coffee, and beach/bath towels.

We have a huge living room with the leaded glass window and extra large smart tv. The Arhaus couch doesn’t want you to forget movie night after you catch the Lake Michigan sunset. This room is able to be a kids or adults only room with its wood panel doors that can add privacy from the rest of the house.

The front door opens to the family room with the gorgeous fireplace and brand new Article leather couch. This room is open to the dinning room with a Restoration Hardware farmhouse table.

The kitchen is completely updated with new stainless appliances and a gas stove for easy cooking. Everything you need is provided, even a Vitamix. Of course the Keurig and k-cups too :)

The laundry room is right off the kitchen with full size machines and that’s where you’ll find all the beach towels and second refrigerator too.

Description:
Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and a desk. There is a pack-n-play crib available on request.
There is an iron & board, and a vacuum in the closest.
Bedroom 2 has a queen bed.
Both bedrooms have a full length mirror, bedside tables and lamps.
Extra sheets, 4 beach towels and two beach blankets located in the bedroom closets.
The Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glassware, pots and pans, baking sheets, utensils, coffee pot, Keurig coffee maker, electric hot water kettle, toaster, microwave oven, gas stove/oven, and blender. I also supply some coffee, tea, sugar and creamers. There is a draw full of a variety of spices. Olive oil, vinegar and such also on hand. There is popcorn kernels and popcorn microwave popper.
The living room has a cozy electric fireplace. The chairs swivel, making it my favorite place to sit on a cool morning with a cup of coffee. There is a cribbage board and cards in the table between the chairs. There are also a couple books about the history of Charlevoix, and waterfalls in North Michigan, and puzzles.
The Smart TV has WIFI making it easy for you to stream your favorites by signing into your own accounts, Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon, Hulu, etc. Bathroom 1: located next to both bedrooms. has a tub/shower combo, nice deep tub for soaking. There is shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Under the sink is laundry soap, and cleaning supplies. The bottom drawer has a blow dryer. There are extra bath towels. In the cabinet over the toilet has extra wash clothes and hand towels and a supply of toilet paper.
Bathroom 2: located in the basement. has a Shower, vanity and toilet. Towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a supply of toilet paper.
The kitchen dining area has a table with 4 chairs.
Downstairs there is a full basement with a ping pong table.
You will also find beach chairs, ice chest and pickle ball set in the basement.
The living area of the house, (kitchen, living room, dining, bedrooms and bathroom) is all on the same floor with no steps. The are three steps to enter the front door, and a stair case down to the basement.
There is a ceiling fan in each bedroom, the living room, and dining area in the kitchen.
Backyard is a nice size, with a Weber BBQ, picnic table and chairs for around the firepit.
A cozy front porch has two Adirondack chairs, a rocking chair and wicker chair, and table.
We have a doorbell ring with camera at the front door.

This is a non-smoking house. No smoking anywhere on the property, inside or outside.

As mentioned before, this is a residential area, most of the neighbors live here year round and have to go to work in the morning, they are not on vacation, please be respectful of loud noise in the evening.

I block out one day between stays to allow plenty of time for a thorough cleaning. The house will be squeaky clean when you arrive. If not, please notify me.

The first aid kit is located in the entry on the shelf above the bench.

This is a non-smoking house. Smoking of any kind is not allowed on the property, inside or outside.

Spend your vacation at this quaint cottage on a private lake in Northern Michigan. Enjoy swimming, kayaking and grilling. Included in the price are kayaks,a canoe, fishing boat, and a paddleboat.
We are located only six miles away from downtown Charlevoix. Excellent fishing at this lake which includes bass among other fish. End your day by the campfire watching the sunset and roasting marshmallows, while hearing/seeing an occasional loon,and seeing a fish or 2 jump!

The space
Our place is quaint. Comfortable, and clean,and very private.

The whole cottage, All toys pictured are included in the price. 4 kayaks, 1 canoe,1 fishing rowing boat, 1 paddle boat. life jackets.There's a fire pit down by the lake,also a charcoal grill up by the cabin. All linens are fresh on the beds (queen size bed in bedroom, and queen size sofa sleeper in living room) along with towels in the bathroom,shampoo and conditioner. Paper towels and toilet paper.salt and pepper and a few spices are all included.Also there are 4 clean beach towels.

Other things to note
There must be at least one adult over 25.There are many stairs, about 40.....much excersize! Everything is ready to go when you show up all you have to do is bring your own food, fishing Pole, and enjoy the Peacefulness! There are several life jackets down by the Lake as well.

This adorable 1920's style home w/ period furnishings takes you back in time and is the closest cottage to town! You will be just steps to Concerts in the park, shopping, etc. Enjoy a front row seat to the Venetian parade and the race (Ryan Shay Mile) from your front yard on Bridge Street! The space
You will have complete private access to the entire house. The cottage sleeps 8, but w/ just 1 bathroom, it may be more comfortably suited to 5-6 guests (it's up to you). The cottage is filled with antique furniture and accessories to match the vintage feel of the home and its architecture. The upstairs dormer with 4 twin beds and a fabulous biew of town and Round Lake will take your breath away! Step back in time in this adorable period cottage. Ejoy the patio, rock gardens, and more!

Guests have access to the entire house. Guest rooms include a newly remodeled bathroom, livingroom, kitchen, small dining area, 2 downstairs bedrooms and an upstairs dormer with 4 twin beds and a seating area with a view of downtown, and a partial view of Round Lake. There is an adorable enclosed porch that will become your favorite happy hour spot! Guests also have access to the parking pad (2 spots), and the patio. Guests can watch parades, etc. from the steps leading to the sidewalk on Bridge Street. You are less than half a block away from everything Charlevoix!

Please note that there is only one bathroom. While the home sleeps 8 people (2 queen beds and 4 twins upstairs), 8 people might find it inconvenient to have to share one bathroom.

The home is designed to give the feeling of vintage Charlevoix cottage, from a simpler, bygone era. If you appreciate vintage ameneties, and an ecclectic furnishings (some vintage, some newer) and a real feel for what Charlevoix was like back in the day, this home is for you!

There is living space in the basement, with a separate entrance that is never rented to guests. It is private and is occasionally occupied by the owner.

Also: there is no garage access, but 2 parking spots are available in back. (3 spaces, if the owner is away).

The space
Welcome!

As you pull off the dirt road onto the tree lined drive you’ll find a fully fenced in five acres of rural Charlevoix countryside. This private stretch of land has the perfect balance of open meadows filled with wildflowers and beautiful old shade trees. On most days in the summer months, a cool breeze gently rolls across this sunny hillside property as Lake Michigan is just a mile down the dirt road.

Perched on the hillside is the three bedroom cottage with a large wrap around deck that overlooks the large property and Lake Michigan in the distance.

On the interior of the cottage you’ll find two levels, an open first floor living area highlighted by a cozy stone fireplace and large western facing windows. The living area nicely transitions into an open dining room with a large table perfect for a farm fresh dinner or late night board game. The adjacent kitchen opens directly onto the back deck for easy access to the outdoor grill and sunset views. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double door refrigerator, four burner oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, spice cabinet and the necessary utensils to cook a proper meal.

A small hallway on the first floor will bring guests to the full first floor bathroom and guest room with queen sized bunk bed and crib, perfect for the young family. On the northern most side of the first floor is the master bedroom with a king sized bed and connecting bathroom/closet. More large western facing windows bring guests another beautiful view of the lake in the distance and plenty of natural light to fill their relaxing summer days.

On the lower level of the house is the cozy family room. With plenty of seating including a crate & barrel lounge couch, this room is perfectly situated for family movie night. A large open area transitions guests to the third and final bedroom/bath. In the open area, guests will find a small seating area with a queen-sized futon for extra sleeping space, a full washer/dryer, as well as a full desk for dedicated work. The lower level bedroom includes a queen sized bed and two large closets so guests can truly unpack and settle in, with the third full bathroom door just a few feet away.

With wonderful amenities indoors and the beauty of northern michigan at the doorstep, this cottage is the perfect up north getaway for you and your loved ones!

Guests will have full access to the outside of the property except for the large blue pull barn, which will be locked.

On the interior, guests will have full access to the entire house except for two locked storage closets and a small locked pantry, all located on the lower level of the home.

In addition, the bathrooms provide hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Other item needs or re-fills will be the responsibility of the guests.

Roughly 4 acres of this property are fully fenced in and the driveway is gated with a simple latch for entrance.

There is a small pond on the western corner of the property, it is not a swimming pond, but draws wonderful wildlife including many species of migratory birds, turtles, frogs, deer and more.

There are many fruit trees on the property as this area of northern michigan is well suited for growing fruit, including apricot, apple and pear. Please see the house Guidebook for local farm and orchard recommendations!

There is a stone bonfire pit on the exterior of the house with adirondack chairs, a standalone hammock, and a wooden picnic table. Firewood not provided by host.

From May-October, the owners of the cottage have a lawn mowing service that comes every other week, normally on Fridays. Mowers will be on the property for roughly 2 hours and are aware that the home is a vacation rental.

Brand new 460 sq ft one bedroom first floor unit with walk in shower in the heart of downtown Charlevoix! Less than a 2 minute walk to the farmer’s market, Round Lake, bars, restaurants, the movie theater, grocery store and shopping. There is an electric vehicle charging station and 24 hour gym 300ft out the back door!

This lovely cottage is the creation of Charlevoix's legendary builder in stone, Earl Young. The year was 1929, and the Hollywood director, Norman Panama, commissioned Earl Young to build his summer get-away. The space
The cottage is welcoming, true and as authentic as a Michigan cottage could be. You will have everything you need and more! With some fine finishings like marble counters and a farmhouse sink, you will be surrounded by beauty, texture and color. The street is quiet and that makes the cottage perfect for family time... you will be in-town but away from the bustle. Enjoy your private yard in the front and back. Or we have a 40" HDTV with a blu-ray DVD and high speed wireless internet for those who need to stay connected. There is a Bose Wave radio on the main level and Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speaker in the master that will bring you rich life-like sound where ever you are in the cottage. The beds are all perfect for an excellent night's sleep: one queen Tempurpedic, one full pillow top and 2 bunk beds in the loft space. The bathrooms are stocked with toiletries. Full kitchen with a large walk in pantry. Outside we offer a new Weber grill and patio set for backyard dining. Enjoy the setting... it's not uncommon to have deer stroll through the yard to munch on our beautiful flowers, one of our favorite activities is just sitting on the front porch marveling at our late summer garden and all the monarchs it attracts!

Located on the desirable north side of Charlevoix, the Cottage is perfectly situated so that it is a beautiful walk along historic Michigan Avenue to town and surrounded by quiet beaches. Mt. McSauba is less than a mile away too!

Please know that we call this cottage cozy for a reason! It’s 1350 square feet and has beds for eight. Four of these beds are twin bunk beds in a loft space between the two bedrooms.

Young designed and built this mushroom house and he chose the best spot in Charlevoix to do so! You will feel like you’re at a private retreat on your back deck up two stories high. See the sky changing colors from the front window and hear the lake rolling too, 2 gas fireplaces, original layout, tile work and Young’s original dining table!

The space
The reviews speak for themselves! The most beautifully finished mushroom house. Original unaltered design. Guests describe it as a living work of art. Across the street from Lake Michigan Beach with the famous red lighthouse where you can walk everywhere!!! Boutiques, restaurants and bars are all only a couple block walk. Parks are close by at the beach and library. As our guests have said: "completely ideal setting".

The house is a work of art, a gallery that sits on one of Charlevoix’s highest bluffs. A house unlike any other you have seen. This is the final house Earl Young built for himself and his wife Irene after he mastered the art of building with stone. There are many unique details that Young added throughout. It sits in a U shape with one bedroom (two twin beds) and its bathroom on one end of the U, and two bedrooms (one queen and one king bedroom) with a bathroom in between on the other end of the U. The queen bedroom is a walkthrough space to get to the back king bedroom. The back deck is private, sheltered from the wind and 3 stories above the street as if it’s hovering in the trees!

We offer our guests all that you need during your stay to make it as relaxing and worry-free as possible. Fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso, many spices, cloth napkins and all your cooking needs; new linens and beach towels; Samsung Frame smart television with Spectrum Cable; Sonos, high speed WiFi; and 2 original fireplaces framed in gorgeous stone makes it feel like a fairy tale. You won’t want to leave since you can see Lake Michigan right out the huge front window! Or go out the back door to the third story deck featuring Fermob furniture for a tree top retreat!

Lastly we would like to share a review from March that one of our guests wrote that we think perfectly sums up our home.

This place is simply UNREAL. I'm extremely OCD/germaphobic, so my definition of clean is a bit unrealistic. But this place was truly SPOTLESS, and absolutely perfect in every detail. The home is stunning, and truly extraordinary...a genuine living piece of art and history. Every inch of the home is pristine, and very well set-up for an easy and relaxed experience.
Everything is so thoughtful, the Nespresso, fully stocked with every flavor imaginable and sugar/sweetener, pretty much everything at your fingertips.
The king bed is CRAZY comfy, as are the pillows and blankets. Sparkling clean, but lush and soft and just delightful. Really nice towels, sheets...every amenity is high end. The decor is gorgeous - streamlined but rich and elegant and just lovely.
The location is unreal. You are truly within a few feet of the water, but protected by a wooded area, so the walk to the beach is minutes. It is quiet and insulated, for a genuinely peaceful experience. You can walk down Park Avenue to several lovely restaurants for carry- out or dine-in, steps from the most charming little downtown area, but distant enough that it's downright bucolic.
The highlights of the home are the beautiful fireplace and the outdoor deck area. The fireplace puts off so much warmth, the room is enormous, but so well laid out, it manages to be open and expansive but also cozy. On our one rainy day we just had a movie marathon in that lovely, restful, snug room...precious family time. The back porch is just charming, with a very unique design, cozy and private but picturesque...simply gorgeous.
The value is extraordinary, this home is spacious and comfortable and just so special. It feels like the quality of the original 50s materials, but somehow with no wear and tear. It's quality + clean + artistry = magic.

CENTRAL A/C!!! A timeless classic summer house. Beautiful and tastefully restored in historic Northside CVX. 6 bedrooms/4 baths make it perfect to host the entire family. Located in dwntwn CVX just north of Round Lake between Lake Michigan and Lake CVX in a quiet neighborhood of magnificent homes. 2 refrigerators, Wolf Range, modern gas fireplace and everything you'll need for a relaxing stay steps from downtown with large front porch, shaded back yard and historic barn.

The space
Our cottage is thoughtfully designed to host large families and groups. The cottage has large open rooms that flow into each other centered around the dinning area. Natural light floods though the space and keeps you close to outside. The English farmhouse table seats 12 with 4 additional stools at the island. Huge, fully equipped kitchen with everything you need from a Kitchen Aid mixer and Vitamix to brand new Wolf Professional range and toaster over, even an extra refrigerator in the large laundry room!

Decor: Antiques from England, France, Morocco and Spain. Persian rugs, original artwork, Anthropologie beds and bedding, antique shaker furniture, antiques and artifacts from lake houses around the BAY area, Hudson Bay blankets, huge new Frame TV, salvaged wood furniture from Restoration Hardware.

Outside: The backyard is spacious with an English feel as we will have a crushed stone seating under string lights that leads to the deck. The tree swing and rarely used back alley (awesome for kids to ride bikes/scooters) sets the tone for easy summer living :) We have a Weber gas grill for you. You will be comfortable and peaceful in the space surrounded by mature trees. Enjoy the propane fire pit in the evenings.

Location: There truly is not a better location or cottage to host a large group in Charlevoix. Steps from the draw bridge and Lake Michigan but still tucked in a neighborhood away from car noise. Make sure you check out the map in our photos where we are located as we have the best of both worlds, as close to downtown as you can get in a quiet neighborhood and still close to all the beaches! We don’t drive after we arrive...

This property has been grandfathered into the City of Charlevoix rental ordinance to allow the maximum number of guests allowed in the city. You will not find a cleaner larger property in the city that sleeps this many people. We are the premier property in all of Charlevoix. We manage our own property, that means we take pride and great care in cleaning, maintaining and responding to any questions. We live less than a mile away to help if anything should arise.
