You can relax and enjoy watching the whales, seals, marine life, and our resident bald eagles—including their nest and babies—right from your deck.
It is the perfect escape for a couple looking to unwind and connect with nature.

Your private guest cottage is separate from our main house and includes the following amenities:

- "We enjoyed our stay thoroughly! The house was spotlessly clean, Eric went the house before we got there turned on the heat so it was warm and cozy on our arrival. Checked in to make sure we had arrived safely and liked the place. The house had everything we needed and everything was in working order. The bed was so comfy. A suggestion for future guests, bring a pair of binoculars as the little island directly across from the deck has an active eagles nest, seals in the waters surrounding and if you’re lucky like we were, porpoises. Watching the seagulls play in the tides of discovery passage and watching the birds and eagles catch fish was amazing. This property is peaceful and serene. We visited on shoulder season so not a lot of restaurants open, but we had anticipated that and brought groceries and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook with. We were a little disappointed that there was no hot tub, but we wrapped ourselves in a blanket and watched the evening sunset from the deck. Grocery store is a 5 minute drive, wonderful hiking trails and lakes for kayaking are only a little ways away. We brought our own kayaks. We will definitely come back to this little oasis, it was good for souls to be there. Thank you Eric!"

Loon Point Cottage is rustic but clean and comfortable. All linens are provided along with a selection of toiletries and some basic kitchen staples, such as spices and oils. There's a full kitchen and a cozy living room. From October through April, you can cuddle up next to a wood-burning stove, from May through September, you can enjoy plenty of sunlight and abundant greenery. All year round you will be dazzled by the work of art right outside your door and the ocean's ever-changing moods.

Perfect for fishing and outdoor adventures. Set in a quiet neighborhood, you will have access to your own private space with a greenhouse and fire pit. 5 min drive to downtown. Fishing, golfing, skiing, mountain biking and sightseeing all easily accessible. Ample parking available and open to pets.

The cottage has a very effective kitchenette with a double burner, full fridge/freezer, microwave and a large convection toaster oven. We live on the property with our sons.

The entrance has a slope. We will provide salt/sand in the winter to avoid slips and falls.

Welcome to the Hummingbird Cottage!

The cottage was renovated by the owners in 2010. We had to jack up and level the floor, replace much of the frame with new timbers. The metal roof is the original except for three new bright skylights. The recycled exterior siding was simply nailed “backside-out” exposing a fresh looking cedar surface.

The interior was completely redone, with new maple tongue-and-groove flooring, drywall, and a Pacific Energy woodstove. The kitchen is fully equipped with butcher-block countertop, stainless steel fridge and a Premier Peerless gas stove.

The bathroom is bright with glass block windows, the tile floor is heated and the neo angle shower has glass walls and door. The master bedroom has windows that “peek” into the woods, a solid maple floor, and a queen size wooden bed. The sleeping loft has been furnished with double and a single bed built by the “owner” using local alder which was milled on site.

The renovated cottage-on-lake is ready for your use, with a wrap-around deck on the waters edge. Enjoy the sunshine and view, or head down to the dock or beach for a swim, or a for some boating with the provided kayaks, canoe, stand-up paddle board and small row boat with electrical outboard motor.

We have included some photos documenting the renovation, as well as some of the many things you can do there.

The place is a Family and Pet Paradise, or Romantic Retreat, surrounded by lake, forest and access to private ocean beach and dock.

Explore the West Coast with forest trails, ocean and lake shore to explore, an island within swimming reach, free use of kayaks, canoe, stand-up paddle board and boat, a deepwater dock with boat launch, peace, quiet and stunning scenery.

The Bold Bay Hummingbird Cottage is a 700 ft2, including the sleeping loft. It is literally right at the lakeshore. The cottage is a perfect base for exploring island living on the west coast.

Village Bay Lake connects to a park-protected chain of lakes. The chain provides excellent day or overnight canoeing and kayaking opportunities, with calm warm water, sandy beaches, rocky bluffs and access to hiking trails leading to view points and the ocean.

Enjoy BBQ lunch on the deck, or play games on the landscaped and grassy yard, including badminton, and bocce. In town you'll find both basics and luxuries including fresh produce and other delectable treats at the weekly Farmer's Market.

A canoe, two kayaks, a stand-up paddle board, and a small rowboat with an electrical outboard motor are available at no charge.

The shoreline of sheltered Crescent Channel (also called Bold Bay), provides beachcombing and shell fishing (oysters and clams - dependent on season/red tide). An on-property deepwater dock with boat launch is available to those who want to take advantage of some of the best salmon and prawn fishing on the coast, or just get a little closer to the marine life.

You may choose to bring your own boat and arrive by boat. The southern shore of Quadra Island, and other nearby Discovery Islands are home to some of nature's most spectacular wildlife including bold eagles, dolphins, orcas, porpoises, and seals.

Local telephone calls are free. Long distance call can be made using calling cards, or direct at a cost of 5 to 10 cents per minute for most calls (calls to cell phones are more expensive).

If you have pets, bring them! Dogs love the forest and the lake.

A short drive from our property are the freshwater lakes of Main Lake Provincial Park and the stunning & breathtaking beauty of Rebecca Spit Provincial Park. The Saturday Farmer’s Market in the summer features musicians and artisans along with a variety of local organic produce. Also on the island is a winery, art studios, and golfing. Or head down to the ferry landing to catch the whale watching boat. There's no shortage of activities to try when you stay with us.

As one of the original homesteads on the island, the yard contains established perennial gardens surrounded by old rock walls and a heritage orchard with apple & pear trees. If you are visiting in late summer, you will be able to pick fresh, organic walnuts, apples, pears, figs and grapes right on our property. The fall is bountiful for mushroom foraging including chanterelles and lobsters. Also on our property is a meditative pond, a perfect place to sit and be inspired by nature. There is also an attached carport to the cottage where you can park and keep all your toys dry.

We live on the property but afford our guests all the privacy they want. We are always available to answer your questions. So come and immerse yourself in the peacefulness and natural beauty of our paradise where you can unplug from everyday life and recharge in nature.

Although we are just a short, 12 minute ferry ride from Campbell River, you will feel worlds away from urban life in our tranquil oasis.

The space
Great value in a beautiful private setting close to all amenities and trails.

Your pet is allowed with a $25 fee. We advise pet owners that it is safest to keep your dog leashed as occasionally wolves on the Island have attacked dogs.

Pictures don't do this cottage and it's location justice. This private, wilderness setting is delightful and the cottage is clean, bright, open and comfortable. In winter the wood burning stove is cozy. The peace of the forest is rejuvenating and the outdoor bath tub for two a great novelty. You will feel like you are miles and miles away from it all.

The vacation rental cottage is well appointed, full kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, vaulted ceiling and sky lights make it bright, including wood stove for ambiance. Incredible forest with large trees and ferns, warm and welcoming environment. Very private, great for family, couples and friends get-away.

The cottage is close to all amenities, beaches and hiking. Spring is the perfect time for clam digging or oyster picking on the beaches as the low tides are now generally during the day. Quadra Island is great for boating, hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, and much more. There is something for everyone, a variety of restaurants, weekend entertainment, all the conveniences of a city in a much smaller way. Welcome to one of the most coveted locations on Quadra Island, BC. This Two bedroom Carriage House Apartment is a rambling stroll to the warm waters lake edge. It will be a majestic reprieve from the hustle of regular life. You will be situated overlooking the Village Bay lake enjoying the views and privacy from your own deck or fireside. This property is easily accessible by car. It is a sought after location for visitors. We have free kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and one double kayak.

The space
This two bedroom Apartment over looks the property and lake. It has all the amenities you will need to be comfortable. The upper deck has a gate to keep guests secure and the cozy home is complete with wood stove and two easy chairs beside the full kitchen overlooking the property nestled in Woods. There is a queen bed in one bedroom. The second room has a bunk bed with two single mattresses and a small desk. The bathroom is equipped with full tub and shower. The patio has seating furniture for 4 and a small barbecue.

Guest access
The Lakeside Carriage House shares a property with the owners home. The two buildings are separate and have a layout that lends each dwelling to ample privacy. The Apartment is located high on top of the garage and has its own private deck and entrance. The garage has a bathroom separate from the Carriage House. This is a shared space with the owners and Treehouse Guests. This is also the location of the washer and dryer. The Lakeside Carriage House bathroom is for your private use. You have free access to paddle boards, kayaks and canoes, shared with owners and guests as well.

Other things to note
There is No cell service once you leave Quathiaski Cove and head up island to Village Bay Lake Bold Point Road.

It is recommended that you bring food, snacks and drinks. We provide salt, pepper, oil and a coffee to start you with. The nearest grocery store, liquor store or restaurant is located in Heriot Bay village, about 25 minutes drive.

Day trips on longer stays are easy but be prepared to hunker down and go for a swim and let the silence of the forest cradle you.

We provide Wifi access: provider Starlink.

There is small TV with DVD player. TV has basic Shaw channels, Netflix and Amazon Prime.

There is a Large Breed of dog on the property.

We pride ourselves in a clean tidy space but we can't help the buzz of nature:)

Our ocean view is great for bird and wildlife watching (popular channel for whale commuting as well as the salmon capital of the world). We're close to the Kay Dubois trail which my Grampa made and named after my grandma.

Located on your own beach, the Elf Cup Cottage is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the majestic views of the Sutil Channel with Cortes Island and the Tantulas mountain range as a backdrop. The Sutil channel, with its nutrient rich water is home to Humpback whales, Killer whales, sea lions and of course a curious harbour seal that calls our beach home. All this can be watched from your own private terrace overlooking the beach.

The unique custom interior was designed by a Swiss interior designer and built by local Quadra Island craftsmen using locally sourced materials and employing traditional craftsmanship.
With ‘less being more’ as the guiding principle the Elf Cup cottage still has all the amenities that you need after enjoying a day out walking along the beach, hiking, golfing or biking.
The living room boasts a wood-burning fireplace, kitchenette with chairs and table for meals and seating area. A gas BBQ with utensils allows the Chef to cook and take in the breathtaking view from the terrace. The modern bathroom with shower has plenty of space and light.
The sleeping area has one Queen size bed which is a cozy place to relax, read or storm watch through the adjoining window. A second Queen size bed is tucked under the roof in a loft accessible by ladder.
For those wanting a bit more adventure, rock climbing, mountain biking, diving and kayaking possible directly from the cottage or a short drive away. We can also provide an e-bike and mountain bike upon request.

The property can be accessed by driving through the gate and holding right and then following the road down to Elf Cup cottage with 2 parking spots. Trailers, RVs, Buses and larger vehicles must be parked at the top due to the steep and tight driveway. The owners live on the property. There is self check-in with electronic locks. Food shopping, gas station and bank are only 10 minutes away from the cottage
The cottage and whole property are a smoke and pet free area.

Copper Bluffs! Quadra Island overlooking Discovery Passage in British Columbia. Noted for it's whale watching, just come sit on one of the bluffs and watch the amazing sunsets and view a show the whales often like to provide as we have resident whales!
There are plenty of trails if you're a bird lover, we have several resident Eagles and Falcons that like to sit and watch you from their perch. Adjoining freshwater lakes are just a 10 minute drive from the property, offering trout fishing,

The space
Currently we have a loft style cottage which offers sleeping for 4 adults, the loft has a queen bed, living room has a pull out queen sofa couch. It has a full functioning kitchen, full bath with shower, wood fireplace for those cold evenings and a fire bowl on the front deck to enjoy while gazing over the passage views.

This all season accommodation has over 300 ft of ocean front, with a short descending trail guiding you to a natural shoreline looking out onto the Strait of Georgia and the Coast Mountain Range. Quadra Island features extensive hiking and biking trails, with Rebecca Spit nearby for picnicking and swimming, and two town centres approximately four kilometres away. The five acre property features two separate cottages, connected by a large deck.

The space
In the main cottage, a fully equipped, well-stocked kitchen with a dishwasher is featured on the main floor along with indoor/outdoor dining space, a living room, and a washroom with tub/shower combo. The bathroom features a bench for dressing and a warming towel rack for cold winter days. There is also a wood stove which is used as the main form of heat during the winter. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed overlooking the ocean, while the other bedroom has a bunkbed arranged with a top and lower bunk plus a trundle (pullout) bed. The wrap-around deck features a BBQ space, as well as a 6 person hot tub overlooking the ocean and a large sitting area to watch the whales!

The adjacent cottage sleeps up to six people with a queen size bed in the main bedroom, a comfortable queen-sized pullout couch and a cozy loft with a double bed. A mini-fridge and kettle are available. The bathroom in this cottage features an indoor shower, with a washer/dryer available for guest use. Attached to this cabin, is a private outdoor shower with mountain and ocean views. Off of the smaller cottage, a spacious deck offers outdoor living space, with comfortable loungers for relaxing.

The property features a platform overhanging the bank, overlooking the ocean for al fresco dining for up to 11 guests, with a large umbrella for sun protection. Guests can enjoy an outdoor fire pit when fire bans are not in place, next to a grandfather swing.

Cell phone service is available on Quadra through most providers. There are emergency services on the island which can be accessed by dialling 911.

The wood stove provides sufficient heat for this accommodation and there is wood available to guests. Back-up electric heat is available as well.
