If you are looking for a comfortable place for your getaway this year, look no further! Located just 12 min from Barry's Bay, this spacious, 4-season cottage is yours to enjoy. Set far apart, it is one of two cottages rented out on the property. Marvel in the beauty of the pristine water from the deck. Relax with a cup of tea or book under the tall trees near the shoreline. Have a peaceful sleep in our new beds while listening to the soothing sounds of nature. There is much to do in the area too

The space
Located in the beautiful Madawaska Valley, the property boasts a beautiful shoreline with sandy bottom, and areas of both sun and shade.

The property has 2 cottages (1 detached cottage and 1 semi-detached cottage) that are open for vacation rental. The other side of the semi-detached cottage is not rented out. We keep that to store supplies and linen for the two cottages and for us to stay on the days the cottages need cleaning.

Your cottage is completely yours during your stay.

The two rented cottages are set far apart on the grounds, and a tall hedge creates visual privacy between the two cottages.

This listing (you are looking at) is for the semi-detached cottage on the property. It has 2 decks (one large deck in the front and one small deck on the side - small and one large) with views of the lake. You also have separate access to a screened-in little hut in the middle of the grounds to sit and enjoy a glass of wine r a cup of tea/coffee while enjoying the views of the water.

Your cottage has a full kitchen, a separate dining room, a living/sitting room, and 4-piece washroom on the main floor.

The basement has 2 bedrooms, a sitting room with a fireplace, and a 3-piece washroom.

Both sitting rooms (upstairs and in the basement) have 43" smart TVs.

Altogether there are 2 queen-size beds (one in each bedroom). There are 2 queen-size sofabeds (one in the basement living room and one on the main floor in the living room).

This cottage is about 1 - 2 min. walk to the shoreline, depending on how fast or slow you walk. The grounds are shared by the guests of the second cottage, however, separate sitting areas have been created near the shoreline for each cottage.

Each cottage has access to a separate dock, a canoe, 3 kayaks, a BBQ grill, and a firepit.

Guest access
The key to your cottage will be kept in a lockbox, and on the day of your check-in, we will send you the code for the lockbox.

There is parking on the property for two cars per cottage. We can accommodate more cars but please inform us in advance if you plan to arrive in more than 2 cars.

Please note that kayaks and canoes are available from May 15 to October 25.

Other things to note
The price is for 4 guests only. For each additional guest, a fee of $25 per night per guest will be added at the time of booking. No visitors or extra guests, please.

On Fridays, between April 15 and October 25, a person comes to cut grass between 10am and 4pm. He is usually in and out in about 15 to 20 minutes.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Great fishing area in the heart of the Bay of Quinte. Bring your boat and dock it for your entire stay.
Enjoy a cool drink on the back deck with a lovely view of the Bay! Great all around views of the waterfront from the firepit. Pool available to cool off during those hot summer days!(Pool open in summer months only).

The space
The bedrooms are small. Main bedroom has a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed and twin. The pool is located across the road and is shared with the trailers and cottage people. The bathroom has a shower no tub.

Guest access
Guests have access to the utility room. I am able to access the utility room from the outside just in case there is an emergency. The entire campground and cottage electrical, hot water and water pump is in the utility room.

Other things to note
There is a washroom that is only accessible from the outside of the cottage and is used by the trailer people which are usually down for a few weeks in the summer.
Pool is not heated. Pool opens in June and closes in September.

Guest capacity is non negotiable. I am on a sensitive septic system and can not exceed the capacity listed. Additional guests on site will result in an immediate cancellation of your stay and there will be no refunds.

You will also be required to provide a valid form of identification, license is preferred. I will send a reservation agreement which also secures a damage deposit. It will be fully refunded at check out as long as the cottage is left clean and without damages. I do not charge a cleaning fee, if the cottage is not returned in the condition and state it was given to you, you will lose your deposit and may face other fines/fees.

In the kitchen, basic dinnerware and utensils, kettle, coffee maker, stove, microwave, a small fridge. others: complimentary coffee, tea and bottle of water.

Guests will be provided with an access code for the main entrance door lock box. Should guests require only ONE night stay, they can send an inquiry which will be accommodated based on availability.
The guests have access to the entire space. Zoom electric bike rental right across from the cottage.

The space
Our cottage is a spacious 1100 sq. feet space that has been updated with a mix of charm and modernity. In the winter, the wood burning stove makes it oh so cozy. The bedrooms are large and the bunk beds are perfect for children’s slumber parties. The kitchen is fully equipped and coffee and tea will be provided. Our beautiful harvest table is great for family meals and the dishwasher helps with the clean up.

Listen to the waves on our large deck, or head to the beach for some fun in the sun. Enjoy roasting marshmallows at the fire pit and playing board games. Wifi, Netflix and Disney Plus takes care of all your tech needs.

All bed linens and bath towels are included as well as bar soap and paper products so you will have less to pack.

**For SUMMER rentals please be aware that it will be your responsibility to take out and bring in the garbage bins (waste collection is Monday mornings). Failure to wheel waste bins out to the street for collection will result in a deduction of $200 from your security deposit.

Firewood

Firewood is available for purchase from Management for the price of Fifteen Canadian Dollars ($15.00) per bag. Please note that it is illegal to transport firewood in Ontario between control zones. If you choose to bring your own firewood, please ensure it is purchased within the local control zone.

Water

The Camper acknowledges that the Campground’s water supply is serviced by a well, and that such a well may run dry through overuse or times of drought. The Campground’s water distribution systems include various filtration and disinfectant systems and is tested regularly, however for liability purposes, the Campground’s water supply is deemed non-potable by Management and Campers are expected to bring and use their own drinking water.

Limited Liability

The Camper agrees to indemnify and save Management harmless from any personal injury, sickness or death, loss or damage, however caused, to the Camper’s person or property or that of the Camper’s family or guests both during or after the time of occupancy. Further, the Camper accepts full responsibility for the use of the Cottage and any recreational equipment, and agrees to pay for any repairs or replacement of said equipment, other than for normal wear and tear.

With four bedrooms (three queens and one double), this cottage comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests. Each bedroom is equipped with a fan for those warm nights, and we also offer a bed rail and a pack-and-play upon request.

This is also a perfect spot for fishing enthusiasts, with great fishing right in the area.

To make your stay even more enjoyable, we provide a pedal-boat and paddle boards for use on the water. For entertainment, the cottage is stocked with a variety of books, board games, and movies to enjoy on the Blu-ray/DVD player.

Please note, guests are asked to bring their own towels and linens, although mattress protectors, comforters, and pillows are provided.

Guests have access to the entire property. This includes parking for up to four vehicles. You will have access to your own dock, deck, and fire pit, the entire cottage and deck.

Please be prepared to bring firewood if you wish to have a fire, as well as your own linens and towels.

Other things to note
Please note that this is a cottage. We do our absolute best to keep everything in working order. Because of the remote nature of the setting, it is possible that if power goes out or the water system fails, or if something breaks, it may take days to fix.

The property is waterfront with a deck that cannot be secured, so please be aware of this if bringing young children.

There are natural stone and wood steps down to the dock, for those who are less mobile, it may be difficult to access the dock and water, but the cottage itself is accessible with a ramp directly from the driveway.

The driveway can accommodate multiple vehicles easily. In the snowy months, the driveway is cleared regularly.
