Tantramar is a 3 bedroom waterfront heritage cottage which has been carefully restored back to the original character with a covered front porch, large deck, French Doors from the front bedroom with views to the water and a queen size bed. The second bedroom has twin beds, the third - the original Laundry Room is very cozy with a queen size bed.

Tantramar is a five minute walk to the Vesuvius Bay Store, ferry, Seaside Restaurant, and public boat dock. Amenities include down quilts/pillows, fully equipped kitchen (no microwave), a double sided wood burning fireplace, a charming bathroom with claw-tub and shower, wireless internet, and a small Bose Bluetooth speaker. There is (still) no TV' and our beds are made up 'European' Style, with clean, crisp duvets. There are top sheets in the closet for those who prefer them.

Families and pets (with vacuum-friendly owners) are welcome at Tantramar although due to an enforced bylaw pets are not allowed on the beach from June 15 through September 15. Careful smoking on the porches only.

Please note, there is a full gym in Ganges (7 minute drive) and a yoga mat with a few pieces of exercise equipment available at the cottage upon request.

Amongst the trees, away from it all and at the end of a long private driveway sits Garden Cottage; even though you feel completely secluded you are close to the ocean, parks, maybe stop by one or all of the many gourmet farm stands in the area, just enjoy the deck and the trees or in 18 minutes be at the famous Saturday market and all that Ganges has to offer.

Our 3 acre property is only a 20min. walk from Ganges. We nestled this clean and quaint cabin in its own cedar grove, separate from the main house.
Your cabin for two has beautiful natural lighting with pine ceiling, cork floor and a high bed overstuffed with feathers and crisp white linens. Cedar boardwalks to the sweetest no-flush toilet in its own building. Outdoor claw foot tub and wash basin

- "We spent three days at this incredible little cabin in the forest and would definitely return. Tara was an amazing host and met us as we arrived with a wave and a promise to bring us some goodies once we were settled. As we pulled up it felt like we had opened a storybook and entered a fairytale setting! The cabin was cozy and clean, the outdoor kitchen cute with fresh flowers and the bed was the most comfy we have slept in while on holiday. Tara came down with fruit, homemade granola, bakery muffins coffee and cream. She had a map of the area and made recommendations and answered all our questions. During our stay she checked in with us online and made sure we were relaxing and offered to bring more goodies if we needed. The island, itself, was a beautiful place to explore. Mount Maxwell offered beautiful views from the top and Baders Beach incredible sunsets. We kayaked with seals in Burgoyne Bay and bought soaps and lavender pepper from Sacred Mountain Lavender Farm. Bring your frisbees and play a round of golf at Mouat Park and Disc Golf. Just a heads up, the trails are shared with pedestrians, and it was still a lot of fun! I think our favourite part was coming back and bathing in the forest. A relaxing, refreshing and magical experience to soak in the tub under the stars in a lush green forest. We would highly recommend (although, we’d rather not have to share) this incredible oasis and the genuinely thoughtful and kind host that Tara is ❤️"

Outdoor living is is a big part of lake living, outdoor lounging areas with gazebo for sundown glass of wine, BBQ and fireplace. Please note we are a clothing optional lake so you will see nudity!
The main cabin features open concept living areas with gas fireplace and Tv for movie watching. The entire cabin has high ceilings and a fabulous wall of windows that brings the outdoors in.
The modern kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances fridge, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, kettle and toaster.
There is no laundry on site
The cabin is best for 2 people, featuring a luxurious king bed in the loft, wonderful view of the property. There are no walls separating the sleeping loft from the living space. A truly cozy and inspiring home with lake views and private access. There is a dock to relax and a kayak and canoe to paddle around the lake with .

Also on the property is a very nice caretaker with a friendly dog . She has her separate entrance and parking.

About Salt Spring Island it is the largest of the southern gulf islands, our property is situated on the South side of the island with an easy drive to the quaint Fulford Harbour and the hiking trails along the ocean of Ruckle Park. Only a 15 min drive to the main town of Ganges with wonderful restaurants, shops, theaters, and artist galleries. Once there, visit the famous Saltsrping Island Saturday Market, a food lovers paradise. The islands studio tours and gourmet food tours will surprise you with new found tasting grounds.

- "We had a wonderful time staying at Uta’s. The house was lovely and had everything we needed. The check in was so easy. Uta was a great host and gave us some great recommendations. We’ll be coming back next year!" - "We stayed at Uta’s beautiful Salt Spring vacation home for a week this August, 2023 and were lucky enough to catch some gorgeous weather. We were able to take full advantage of the lake, steps from the back door and spent much of the time in the water, swimming with our dog, kayaking and just sipping wine and soaking up the view. When we weren’t in the water we were enjoying Uta’s fully fenced beautiful garden, or lounging on a couch on one of the decks. The accommodation itself is wonderfully comfortable; artistic, boho and rustic with everything one could need for a long stay. We found Uta to be extremely friendly, and very keen that everything was to our liking. Whilst she was keen to learn of our exploits, Uta kept a respectful distance when we needed space and privacy. Whilst her adorable little dog was the perfect size and temperament for our little Yorkie, being old, he didn’t want to play. He stayed with his mama and was absolutely quiet. The accommodation is in a great location with many attractions within a short drive. We ate out at Salt Spring Wild Cider House a couple of times and enjoyed great food and and beverage - and our dog was welcome on the patio which was great! We visited Salt Spring Island Cheese and enjoyed lunch there, again with our pup. We visited Ruckle Provincial Park which is beautiful and totally worth a day out and picnic. All in all, I would highly recommend the Lake House. I’m sure at one point we’ll be back."

The Wildwood Cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay on Salt Spring Island. Very comfortable bed, curtains for a good sleep. Personal parking spot with EV charger. Kitchen equipped to cook while you stay. There is a shared inground pool from June 1st-September 1st. Private front patio with couch, swing and fire pit. Our area is close to town but far enough away to be relaxing even in the busy summer months. Walking distance to the fabulous Salt Spring Wild Cider, grocery's, cold beer and wine and the Legion. 2 min walk to the main road and bus line. Only friendly pets on and off leash are welcome. We have a cat and dog that free room on the property. There is parking for one car on the property. Otherwise there is street parking.

Delightful B&B cottage located in the popular south end of Salt Spring Island. The cottage is a completely separate and private building with parking just outside the door. There is a private outside area with a picnic table and two Adirondack chairs for your use.

The space
You’ll be close to lots of walking trails, kayak/canoe launching beaches, two swimming lakes and some of the most beautiful ocean beaches on the island. Ruckle Park, Barbara’s bakery stand, Salt Spring Cheese, Stowel Lake Farm and The Gatehouse Yoga Centre, two wineries and a brewery are all in the neighbourhood and just a few minutes away. A very special part of the island beckons.

The craftsman style cottage offers a loft bedroom with a queen bed. If you require 2 beds, we can provide the queen in the loft and a single on the main floor. The main floor offers the OPTION of a king bed (2 singles together) and is ONLY AVAILABLE BY SPECIAL REQUEST. All the beds have memory foam topped mattresses. All are very comfortable and have quality cotton sheets and goose down duvets and goose down filled pillows. Depending on your preference, YOU CAN CHOOSE which bed and bedroom suits your needs. The cottage is suitable for 2 adults. Unfortunately, this cottage is not suited for infants or young children. The cottage is completely separate from the main house.

Our pure abundant well water means you won't need to bring drinking water. The private bathroom on the main floor has a walk-in shower and low flush toilet. You have all the conveniences in your B+B cottage to make your stay functional and enjoyable. A large closet space gives you plenty of room to put your things away.

If you treasure natural beauty and tranquility then this might be the spot for you! The very private cottage is separate from the main house, and they are located on 3+ acres of a forested and moss-covered meadow. Sunlight abounds and views from your picture windows are mesmerizing.

Attention to detail at every turn in building this cottage has created a warm and welcoming ambience. Your hosts, Diane and Jim, will be available to offer Island information when you want it.

Parking is available outside your cottage door. There is a private backyard area with picnic table and chairs outside your own backdoor.

A first morning complementary breakfast is provided. Tea and coffee are available. The kitchenette offers an electric kettle, french coffee press, toaster and more. You will find everything that you will need.

The cottage has a NO SMOKING POLICY indoors and out. We live on a special island and work hard at preventing fires.

I live on-site and do yard-work as needed. Your interaction with me is up to you! I am here if needed. My default is to let you have your space and drop into your own experience.

You will see deer and a beautiful array of birds. We are off the road so you will hear traffic from time to time. If the creek is running, that is what you'll mostly hear, however. We do not have any pests, rodents or predators on-site. The cottage is comfortable and rustic only in its external appearance.

There are no laundry facilities in the cottage, but I am happy to run a load for you if requested with a small fee. Laundry request papers are found in the cottage to fill out with instructions.

You get the whole place to yourselves and a little ocean view too. All within easy reach of Ganges Village and local beaches, wineries, artist studios, and lakes.

Its your own private sanctuary, with indoor-outdoor living and new modern appliances: range, fridge, washer-dryer, and a well-equipped kitchen. Some breakfast basics and fixings are also included.

A clean and comfortable cottage with 2 bedrooms upstairs, and a sofa bed downstairs. Excellent Wi-Fi, Netflix and a Smart TV, along with various games help you keep entertained indoors. Meanwhile, our outdoor areas include a hammock, and a bistro set to enjoy your morning coffee on the front deck. As well as a garden patio furniture to enjoy your evening meal, or lunch, outside. Cooked on our small Weber BBQ no doubt.

The bright cottage also has a large indoor dining table, and wood stove. Also, there is a small ocean view from the Master bedroom. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower.

We are centrally located only a few minutes from Ganges, the main center. While you are here there a a multitude of things to do depending on your interests: whale watching, kayaking, boating, fishing, hiking, visit art galleries, local farm stands and markets, go on cycle routes, take tasting tours of wineries and cider making, visit our local brewery or distillery, or go to the cheese farm, do yoga, go to a spa, have a massage, play golf, eat at great restaurants and pubs, go on an artists studio tour, go to numerous lakes and beaches, or just chill and relax !

- "We really enjoyed our stay, it was mostly quiet even on a long weekend and the little details were great " - "We absolutely loved staying here! The property is beautiful, private, and so quaint! We stayed with our small dogs, and they had a blast. I love that there is a little fenced area for them to safely explore. This cabin is excellent for a couple, or a small family who doesn’t mind sharing. We loved the huge bed with all the pillows! I would say that a larger group may not be so comfortable. The other building is not closed in, and not very clean or comfortable. I personally wouldn’t want to sleep there! We didn’t use this space at all. The claw foot tub is a highlight!!! One previous guest said it’s dirty, but it absolutely isn’t. It just has character!! The kitchen is fully stocked, clean, and fun to cook in! There is no toaster oven like in the photos - we brought a flatbread to cook in it, but were surprised to see it was replaced with a microwave. There is no shampoo, despite the listing. Luckily, we had some with us! A bar of nice soap was provided. Overall, this property is a dream! We are already planning our next visit! The unit is very clean, nicely updated and I personally really appreciated how clean the kitchen & bathroom were, two areas that I don’t always find to be very clean in other places I’ve stayed. The view from the living room is beautiful, bright and forested, very private despite having neighbors all up & down the street ( it’s not remote). - "The cabin has been rebuilt and and comes complete with all new appliances and comfortable furnishings. Kitchen was very well stocked with dishes etal for our two person visit. Highspeed internet totally reliable. My visit was to explore and to become better acquainted with Saltspring with the possibility of making it a new home. The host - Ted lives on the property and was responsive to a couple inquiries I had in regards to the cabin maintenance etcetera. For anyone wishing to either explore or seek some quiet time on Saltspring this unit is ideal. The presence of deer and the odd sheep on the property kept my pup alert and active!"

Best of all, the water here is warmer than other beaches for anyone who wants to take an ocean swim.

The cottage is bright and cheerful with lots of windows facing south, so you get great light and views of the surrounding forest. We've set up comfortable beds, a kitchen with everything you need to cook (and all new appliances), plus a modern bathroom with a nice walk-in shower. The heat pump keeps it cozy in winter and cool in summer, and the WiFi is solid if you need to stay connected.

We've put together a small collection of books about Salt Spring and the Gulf Islands if you want to learn more about the area, and stocked some coffee, tea, and basic cooking supplies so you don't have to rush to the store right away.

There is much to do here for all ages. On the property, there is plenty of exploring to do, and the 300 feet of private beach front to enjoy.

A vast variety of birds and other wildlife make this 4 acre property home. Watch the swans, eagles, hummingbirds, quail and other exotic birds from the beach and expansive veranda. Raccoons, otters, deer and other critters are curious, safe and plentiful.

Off the property, hiking, kayaking, sailing, golfing, fine dining, casual dining, patio drinking, swimming, shopping, scuba diving, a day at the spa, fishing, yoga, farmers markets, etc... are all close at hand.

Breakfast is included but very basic: coffee/tea and a basket of simple breakfast bars to satisfy your morning hunger, but also to satisfy the legal requirements for short-term rentals on these islands.

This house is operated by the Island Heritage Appreciation Club which allows members to use it to cover the costs. Membership is open to all those who appreciate well-maintained heritage properties.

(The sofa has recently been changed since a past guest mentioned that it was not comfortable enough)

- "The cottage is cozy with everything we needed for our week-long stay on Salt Spring Island. It's super easy to find from the main road and close to everything. We enjoyed walking through Ganges, taking in the shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our home cooked breakfast on the back deck that looked towards the woods. We appreciated the onsite washer and dryer, which meant we didn't have to cart around dirty clothes.The cottage is quiet at night and bright during the day. We slept really well and enjoyed the surrounding sites: Salt Spring Island cheese, hikes up Mounts Maxwell and Erskine, Hastings House, Moby's Pub, the Treehouse Cafe and the Wild Cider House. This cottage is great for two and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here while we celebrated our 10th anniversary."

This clean, cozy cottage with a Scandi feel is located a short 7 minute walk from the best swimming and sunset beach on Salt Spring. Equiped with a kitchen, bathroom, and queen bed this is the perfect spot to enjoy a taste of the Salt Spring life. Shop at a local farm stand and use the kitchen to cook up a farm to table meal. The space
There’s a sitting area outside, with a beautiful garden with bamboo, lavender, grasses and more. String lights come on automatically in the evening to create a magical space.
Inside, the cottage is small and cozy, but with an open floor plan. It’s perfect for a couple. The queen bed is tucked in one end, and the kitchen in the other, and there’s a petite bathroom. Please note that there is no television, so unplug and enjoy the slow Salt Spring pace, or bring your iPad and hook up to the wifi to enjoy your favourite show :)

The cottage sits next to our residence, but it has it’s own private yard and entry. We share a driveway with the cottage, and will say hello if we cross paths, otherwise it’s a private space.
Guests have a parking spot outside the gate to the cottage. Through the gate, they have access to the private yard with garden views.

Please note that this is a small cottage and best suited for 2 people.
There are children who live on the property, as well as ducks and chickens. Because of this there is potential for some duck/ chicken sounds (no rooster!) and the sound of children playing.
The cottage is not a vegan space. We have a sheepskin to cozy up to on one of the armchairs, as well as feather pillows and a down duvet.

Come and relax at A Cottage Amongst The Trees in beautiful peaceful Vesuvius on Salt Spring Island. A beautiful natural setting yet so close to all amenities such as restaurants, shops, hiking trails, ferry, bus service and the famous Saturday Market.

The space
We are only a 5 minute car ride to the beach and the Vesuvius ferry. The Salt Spring bus route is only a few minutes walking from the cottage. My 3 acre property borders the Baker Ridge trail which is one of the many great hiking trails on the island.
The cottage is a fully furnished one bedroom that sleeps 2 adults with views into the forest which does have black out curtains on the windows. A luxury Natura Meadow queen mattress with queen pillows and lovely sheets, fluffy bath towels, a washer and dryer, along with Wi-Fi, Ignite Internet 1.5G (with unlimited GB) entertainment streaming box to watch your favourite shows on your own streaming platforms or watch Ignite TV, an electric fireplace and many other features are there for your use. Beach chairs, a cooler and towels are available for those days on one of the many lakes or beaches. The private deck that overlooks the property is a great place to enjoy your meals that you have prepared on the BBQ. There are basic spices along with coffee for the drip machine (filters provided)and teas. Also enjoy a complimentary goodie basket.
A short ride into Ganges has restaurants, art galleries, and many other shops for your pleasure. The Saturday market in downtown Ganges is not to be missed. Kayaking, hiking and many other adventures await you should you chose to go and explore the rest of the island. There is plenty of wildlife around the cottage to entertain you as well.
Unfortunately we are not suitable for any pets or children.

Tips;
Ferry reservations are highly recommended in the summer months on the major routes. The ferry from Swartz bay and Crofton are first come first serve. The fee you pay on the smaller vessels is to get on and off the island.
Bring some good walking shoes as there are lots of great walking/hiking trails.
I do not have a carbon monoxide dector.
The space is on a septic system, so only toilet paper is to be flushed.

Meanwhile, our outdoor areas include a hammock, and a bistro set to enjoy your morning coffee on the front deck. As well as a garden patio furniture to enjoy your evening meal, or lunch, outside. Cooked on our small Weber BBQ no doubt.

The space
The cottage is nestled in the woods along the shore of St. Mary's Lake which is a water shed, no gas motors allowed on the lake (super peaceful). The sounds of birds fill the air during the day while the frogs lull you to sleep at night. The eagles nest in our trees at the lake shore and are particularly active in May and June. Deer frequent the property most evenings.

The kitchen has recently been remodeled and has an adjacent walk in pantry. The dining area seats 8 comfortably. The living room over looks the beautiful front garden. Downstairs has a queen bedroom with walk-in closet and two twin bedroom. The queen connects to the radiant heated floor newly remodeled bathroom. There is also a large open space downstairs to do yoga or dance :)
The cottage is amazingly happy place to spend your vacation! The back yard and deck over garage are wonderful places to hang out. The front garden is beautiful with a hammock during the summer months.

Stunning waterfront, beautiful independent small cottage, private parking/entrance, cozy and comfortable with all amenities (cable, Wi-Fi, etc), barbecue, and breathtaking sunset views. Guests have privacy and access to an exclusive dock and exercise/media room (shared space). Fenced trails within the property and plenty of room to relax and enjoy nature, including the eagle's nest right above the cottage. E-bikes, kayaks and paddleboards available for rent in town. The space
The Nest is a cozy and relaxing place where you can enjoy nature and stunning views from sunrise to sunset, just steps from the ocean. Our Orchard offers apples, pears and cherries for the picking, and you may also enjoy our organic herbs and vegetable gardens. Located by the sea, Valhalla offers private trails and the ideal setting for water sports, with rental (delivery) options in town.

Guest access
You may explore the whole estate, except the main house, the Loft (separate cottage) and the caretaker's house.

Other things to note
Please note that we share our home with our guests, and that we are a small and familial operation, without staff or full-time services. We are only happy if our guests are having the best time, so we try our best to have their expectations met within our capacity.

If you have an Electric Vehicle, there are several charging stations around the island. We do not have EV charging capacity on the property.

We use regular cleaning products. If you have any sensitivity to detergents such as Tide/Persil/Downy or Greenworks, Clorox, Pledge, etc., please advise us at the time of your booking so we can accommodate your special cleaning request.

Although we love to see our guests have fun, we ask you to respect other guests' and our private spaces. Valhalla is a place to relax, meditate and contemplate nature and we appreciate quietude.

Please be mindful that the Nest is located in a wooded area, and it is usual to find pollen, pine needles, small animals like little frogs, spiders and harmless critters. Despite our best efforts to clean the cobwebs, you may find a few as they are formed every day.

Our cottage is located on Sweetwater Farm nestled in the Cranberry Valley. Private and secluded, adjoining our 40 acres with south-west exposures and valley views. Relaxing and peaceful location on a quiet no-through road. Perfect getaway for couples and families. Located near walking trails; Mt. Erskine out your back door & Mt. Maxwell around the corner. Our cottage only 7 minute drive from the main village of Ganges and all amenities. Pet restrictions read below.

Guest access
Sweetwater Retreat has it's own private driveway, parking and yard. We do ask that guests refrain from walking the other private areas of the property.

Other things to note
Pets; One dog 35 pound max. allowed with pre-approval at time of booking. $25 per stay fee. Dogs not permitted on any of the furnishings. Dogs must be in their crate if you must leave him/her behind in the cottage. If we agree to you having your pet in our Cottage, please know we are trusting that you accept and will follow these restrictions. Sorry no cats.

When we are in extreme rating for fires throughout our province and on Salt Spring, fires will not permitted, inclusive of the indoor fireplace. Absolutely no smoking indoors or outdoors.

We are in a rural location, no street lights. We recommend you bring a flashlight/torch for those lovely summer evening strolls.

Our spring water has a reputation of tasting amazing hence the name Sweetwater Farm. Drinking water is available right from the tap!

Please note landscaping is in progress but will not impact your stay.

Tip: If you have wifi calling option on your phone turned on you will be able to receive and make phone calls and send and receive text messages.

Directions from Fulford - head toward Ganges. 15 minutes drive, turn left on Cranberry Rd. Continue for 5 min and you will come to a 90 degree turn, go right on Toynbee, gravel road for approx. 1 mile and you will come to 325 Toynbee Rd. on your right.
Directions from Long Harbour - head toward Ganges, go through town toward Fulford - approx. 10 min. will come to Cranberry, turn right. Continue for 5 min and you will come to a 90 degree turn, go right on Toynbee, gravel road for approx. 1 mile and you will come to 325 Toynbee Rd. on your right.

Our cottage is very bright being southwest facing and we do not have drapes or blinds as it is very private, and is our preference to have a very clean look to our cottage. I recommend that you bring eye pillows if this may be an issue for any sensitive sleepers, or if you might need to darken some area of a room for your infant that you bring portable blackout curtains (Amazon) that are attached to the glass of the window. Taping or pinning to adhere anything to the cottage walls is not permitted.

Guests have full access to their private detached cottage with a private patio, as well as an expansive lawn, perfect for sitting and relaxing in the sunshine. We also offer complimentary guided tours of the farm, where you can meet our friendly birds and enjoy fresh, in-season products when available.

For your safety, we ask that guests do not enter active farming areas such as the paddocks, chicken coops, greenhouse, or garden without prior approval.

Cosy up on the couch with a good book (or your laptop) and light a warming fire in the adorable Morso wood burning stove. Or grab an Adirondack chair on your spacious private patio and watch the last bit of the sunset sparkle on the lake.

If you love to cook like we do, you'll be happy to find the kitchen stocked with SHARP kitchen knives and quality cookware and utensils. Fire up the Webber BBQ and grill up some of Salt Spring Islands incredible local produce and fair found just 7min down the road in Ganges. You'll also have to pass Kutatas Winery on the way, which is worth a stop! Everything they make is amazing.

Dive off our cedar dock and swim out to our swimming float! The water is warm in the summer and perfect for swimming! Help yourself to our paddle boards , kayaks and canoe (seasonally available) to explore peaceful (no motorized boats) and beautiful St Mary Lake at no extra charge.

Please note: The Studio has a subtle grade change inside the living space (lowered living room) with a small step down and a step down on the outdoor patio area. Guests with mobility needs or balance challenges should be aware and take care!

Your two level space has a king size bed as well as two extra long singles that can make into another king. Off the dining is a private covered patio (as well as large upper deck )that is bright and sunny with outdoor living amenities looking out to the harbour.The cottage features a warm thoughtful aesthetic incorporating vintage and antique books, furniture, luxury textiles and art. Enjoy your privacy or engage with us as you wish and help yourself to wonderful summer bounty from the gardens for your meals. Various games tucked away in the house are fun for all ages. A cozy and bright 2 bedroom, 1 bath ocean side cottage B&B situated on the scenic Walker’s Hook Road on Salt Spring Island with private covered ocean front boat house and secluded beach. Tucked away among the trees but still close to everything, our cottage gives you that perfect Salt Spring escape. "Bird House" has been a longstanding B&B cottage on Salt Spring Island for 30 years, recently completely renovated and updated to offer modern comforts.

The space
Have your morning coffee on the deck listening to birds, wander down to Vesuvius Beach for a swim or sunset, or pop into Ganges for a meal or want to browse local shops. It's quiet enough to recharge but connected enough to enjoy all the island offers.

No Car Needed! One major bonus: Bird House Cottage can be easily reached by public transit, by foot from the Vesuvius ferry, or by bike—you don't need to bring your car! This lets you avoid the long waits for the ferries (car traffic) during the busy summer months.

Located in the charming Vesuvius community, our property is just a 5-minute walk to Vesuvius Beach—perhaps the best sunset spot on the island. The beach offers community tables, chairs, and large driftwood benches for comfortable lounging while watching the sun fade over Vancouver Island. Best of all, the water here is warmer than other beaches for anyone who wants to take an ocean swim.

The cottage is bright and cheerful with lots of windows facing south, so you get great light and views of the surrounding forest. We've set up comfortable beds, a kitchen with everything you need to cook (and all new appliances), plus a modern bathroom with a nice walk-in shower. The heat pump keeps it cozy in winter and cool in summer, and the WiFi is solid if you need to stay connected.

We've put together a small collection of books about Salt Spring and the Gulf Islands if you want to learn more about the area, and stocked some coffee, tea, and basic cooking supplies so you don't have to rush to the store right away.

What we love about our spot:
